@Zonedoutallnight great news 🙂. Fingers crossed.

Our little lady was due on 28th and still is comfy inside. Tomorrow will have a sweep, but the odds of starting labour arent that high looking at your experiences. 02.02.2022 is looking like a nice date though 😉

BobbleWobble1 · 31/01/2022 16:18

@zonedoutallnight good luck! Hope things are happening for you!

@sjxoxo honestly breastfeeding is so hard. I really wish new mums got better support and preparation. First time round it was hell. Much improved second time but I still wouldn't say it was easy. I'm just a bit more experienced so better at asking for help.

40+5 today, had a growth scan this morning and little lady is looking like a 9 pounder.

Been losing my plug for nearly a week and the past 2 days been having a lot more cramps and tightenings . I’m praying this is the start and she arrives before I need an induction.

Got another sweep tomorrow

ellex811 · 31/01/2022 17:37

Hello, I’m new here. Signed up today because I’ve been trawling mumsnet for the last week, sorry if I don’t get any of the lingo or abbreviations right!

Our little girl was due on Friday just gone. Had sweep on Saturday at 1pm (had it at 40+1 due to two episodes of reduced movement), midwife said she could feel the head and did baby’s heartbeat before and after. Before was same as usual, after was like she’d sprinted a marathon bless her which midwife said was good because it meant she’d reacted to the sweep.

Had a lot of “bloody show” on Saturday night and then had the odd bit here and there since, had a fair amount this morning. Had no cramping since the sweep but had a lot of tightenings and Braxton Hicks and I’m so uncomfortable, the only way I can describe it is like when you’re holding a stomach crunch. I’ve had a hot curry, been on my ball, been brisk walking and curb walking, drinking raspberry leaf tea, had hot baths. Only thing I haven’t tried is sex as boyfriend hasn’t touched me all pregnancy because he thinks it’s weird and now he knows her head is dilated he’s even more off the idea! Which is fine because I feel like a beached whale anyway.

Getting fed up now, my friend was due 11 days after me and had her baby on my due date which was a kick in the teeth :( our baby is the first grandchild/niece on my boyfriend’s side of the family and also the first baby of my work office so a lot of excitement and I feel awful for getting pissed off with the constant “how you feeling, any signs, is she here yet” texts but I feel like I’m doing something wrong/ letting people down that I’ve not had her yet.

Hoping for 02.02.2022 because I think it will be nice and special and I’ve seen a lot of angel numbers and signs throughout my pregnancy and she’s our rainbow baby after losing at 8 weeks in April 2020 🌈🤍

Any advice for how to get things moving would be much appreciated! Got another sweep booked for Friday and then another next Monday and finally inducement on Wednesday 9th.

Colostrum harvesting and walking were how I got my labour going. Good luck ladies and hoping for some baby arrivals for you all soon!

sociallydistained · 31/01/2022 21:20

@zonedoutallnight

Ooh I've had a show and getting cramps. I'm hoping this is the start of something happening! Wish me luck!
I'm with you! 🤞🏼 plug and small show 2 days ago though but cramps tonight (I had this over a week ago with cramps so not sure to take them seriously) 🙈😬
sjxoxo · 31/01/2022 21:59

@sociallydistained @zonedoutallnight crossing my fingers for you both tonight 😬

@BobbleWobble1 yes I wasn’t prepared for breastfeeding to be so hard- he feeds very often so sometimes I feel there’s no break in between! I also had thrush which was a killer- absolute agony. I wrote another thread on here about it & someone suggested thrush and when I looked it up I thought YES so got that treated and it’s so much better. Xx

zonedoutallnight · 31/01/2022 22:01

@sociallydistained hope your are getting somewhere now. Everything here seems to have settled down again. I've been doing my best to keep active and moving around is definitely uncomfortable but as for actual labour? I think I was a bit overly optimistic. Going to bed now and trying to look on the bright side - at least it's one more night of actual sleep!

@zonedoutallnight No, same here even the cramps have gone. I'm on my ball watching TV but of the same mind that I could get a good nights sleep in at least 🤞🏼

Best of luck to us both for maybe tomorrow?

Luckymamma · 01/02/2022 01:45

We can add another to the list. Just squeaking into January and 2 days overdue. Guy was born this morning at home as we didn’t have time to get to hospital. Labour just under 2 hours and he is 8lb 8oz no stitches needed and we both doing ok so far :)

Trinacham · 01/02/2022 02:35

Congratulations @Luckymamma

@Luckymamma congrats!! x

Alle1991 · 01/02/2022 07:50

@Luckymamma congratulations on your arrival, hope everything went well

Anyone else made it to the feb baby club?

sociallydistained · 01/02/2022 08:09

Wow @Luckymamma Congratulations!

So my baby is officially a February baby now as here I am still pregnant 😂 my backache has turned up a notch though.

winterbabyrose · 01/02/2022 09:28

Still nothing here either! Few cramps yesterday evening but nothing overnight / into this morning. Still no plug lost as far as I know. 40+2 today and I have a sweep this afternoon so I'm hoping that kick starts something! Would love to have her tomorrow, 02.02.2022 would be such a special birthdate!

sociallydistained · 01/02/2022 11:29

Yes love that date. I am trying to avoid the 5th for reasons but I expect it'll be then 🙈

So my cramping has been steady on and off since 8am (some in the night but I mostly slept through that) so I am hopeful this is something. I am trying to relax but very noisy building work is going on next door which js typical! I also forgot to charge my phone last night so whilst that was charging I decided to read some of my book and happened on a chapter where a woman dies in childbirth 🤦🏻‍♀️ (it was war and peace so very old!)... all these silly things that should be stopping my flow of oxytocin. For me and my contrary ways I expect today will be the day 😂

SouthwestSis · 01/02/2022 12:16

Exciting @sociallydistained!
A midwife told me that she doesn't think a glass of wine to relax you in latent labour is a bad idea so perhaps that could help you this afternoon since baby's brain is well grown by this point!

sociallydistained · 01/02/2022 12:41

I'd love one but I don't have any and I haven't drank for 2 years so if I send my partner out for a bottle of wine he might think I've lost it 😂🙈

I just made up my padsicles for the freezer. Pads with aloe and witch hazel on for after the birth. I've been putting off doing that for ages!
Other than that not a lot happening.

sjxoxo · 01/02/2022 13:21

@sociallydistained I think you will be on your way soon! When my waters broke on the Saturday night literally nothing else happened- only on Sunday at like 8pm did I have a few twinges- by midnight it was full on then. I found it went from zero to 100 very quickly so even if you have a slow start when things do begin it might all happen relatively quickly. Xxx

Zonedoutallnight · 01/02/2022 14:24

Well I've been awake since 3am, went to the hospital for 9 as I was having regular cramps but then as soon as I arrived they all stopped just to make me into a liar. They did another sweep, monitored baby for a bit and then sent me home because literally nothing was happening. I'm now in bed (since I've been awake for 11 hours) and having worse cramps than before. I give up. I'm going to try and have a nap and see if I wake up holding a baby. That's how it would work if I'd invented childbirth.

sociallydistained · 01/02/2022 16:55

@Zonedoutallnight Keep going, you've got this! I think going to the hospital just interrupted your flow. I know it sucks. I feel you. I am having a lot of sensations, cramp but feel like it's going nowhere but I am trying to be positive and hope this is all leading somewhere! 🤞🏼

sociallydistained · 01/02/2022 17:57

I've just ordered a hot curry. I've always said I wouldn't do it because I don't want to have the shits in labour more than anything. But it's 20% off tonight and damned if I won't try anything. I'll quite happily have the shits if it brings my baby 😂🙈
