Due to erratic cycles and DH’s work shifts, we have only managed to DTD once this cycle, on the day of my LH peak (so one day before ovulation).

I’m looking for some success stories to keep me smiling, instead of fed up that we’ve missed our chance this month!

Thank you Smile

Yep! I thought it was a myth from school sex Ed lessons. But nope.
I had a 4mo at the time though

babyboybluex · 08/11/2021 21:08

DTD twice and I'm now 13 weeks pregnant! It is possible 🥰

LeahPaige · 08/11/2021 21:19

My partner and I only DTD once and I took the morning after pill and we still got pregnant 😅

EdgeOfTheSky · 08/11/2021 21:20

Yes.

MrsTerryPratchett · 08/11/2021 21:22

Well everyone does. It's not cumulative sperm! It's one sperm. So everyone gets pregnant from one time!!!

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 08/11/2021 21:23

Yep, she's nearly 15 now. I am super fertile though. I have 8 children, 4 conceived on the first month trying. 4 were contraceptive failures (3 mini pill failures, 1 split condom just before period due)

InTheNightWeWillWish · 08/11/2021 21:31

Yes. 9 months of DTD every other day and hitting O-1 and O. Month 10 we DTD a handful of times through the month and only once in the fertile week, I’m pretty sure it was O-4. I’ve got my final growth scan tomorrow and I’ll be told an induction date (likely about a week). So I’m currently pleading with baby to come in the next week. Baby is kicking my ribs in response. I’m not sure if that’s “ok mum” or “hahaha jog on mum”.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 08/11/2021 21:32

I did, with my second. Took 18 months to conceive his big sister, but had unprotected sex once (whilst breastfeeding!) and BOOM!!

Driposaurus · 08/11/2021 21:33

Yes.

But everyone only gets pregnant after just the once.

It’s just that I missed that fact after many years TTC and then having an accident.

SpottyStripyDuvet · 08/11/2021 21:34

Yes! After 5 years I had actually forgotten that we were ttcing at all. Had assumed it was never happening but we weren't using contraception. The cycle I got pregnant we definitely only did it once on cd18.

gogginsmrs · 08/11/2021 21:36

Yes! Definitely. Dd1 took 9 months of trying, ds took 1 month and our dd2 was conceived after just one night 🤣

DramaAlpaca · 08/11/2021 21:37

Yes me. It had taken almost a year to conceive DS1. He was 7 months old, I was still breastfeeding, we literally did it once that cycle on the day of ovulation - and along came DS2. I was in shock for the first couple of weeks when I found out I was pregnant.

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 08/11/2021 21:37

Yep and while wearing a condom. Confused Dd is now 8 months. Very much unplanned but a very happy surprise.

Kljnmw3459 · 08/11/2021 21:37

Yes!

twolittleboysonetiredmum · 08/11/2021 21:38

Yup every time we tried we conceived first time. W fact that strikes fear in me after three children and means we have no sex life as i panic even when we use contraception 😂

Nibblonian · 08/11/2021 21:44

Yes, on three separate occasions even through to being 38. Quite a shock!

MuslinsRLife · 08/11/2021 21:47

Yes, 2/3 times - 1st was an ‘accident’ - we seem to be very fertile thankfully. It can happen but I guess you hear more about struggles as I wouldn’t mention it normally!

SkankingMopoke · 08/11/2021 21:55

Yes, with both DCs. The first time was after having just come off 13yrs on the pill and a condom-splitting incident (we were in the middle of nowhere with no access to emergency contraception, and assumed pregnancy would be pretty unlikely. Wrong!). Second time we were at least trying, albeit not very hard: DTD once in month 1 with no luck, then once more in month 2, and cheggers. We are now exceptionally careful!

AliasGrape · 08/11/2021 21:56

Yep, years of ttc, taking clomid, next step ivf, had a month where DH was away, then ill, then I was ill, and in that time we only managed sex once. I’d pretty much given up by that point, I did the ovulation stick the next day and did think about telling DH it was positive so we should ‘try’ again but then was like nah sod it what’s the bloody point anymore.

DD is 15 months now Smile

EKGEMS · 08/11/2021 21:56

First time off birth control and I conceived

NotMyCat · 08/11/2021 21:58

I got pregnant on the pill and without him finishing anywhere near me Confused

stormelf · 08/11/2021 21:58

It took five years and many miscarriages to conceive dc1. Then when she was 8 months old I had a miscarriage and another at 1 year old. We had given up trying for a second, then one month dtd once and conceived dc2. When he was a year old we gave ourselves 6 months of trying for a third. Never thought it would happen. due to dh shifts the second month we couldn't dtd at right time, third month only managed it once and I'm now pregnant with dc3

Bancha · 08/11/2021 21:59

Yes, both times!

NotMyCat · 08/11/2021 22:03

I should add my mums friend had IVF and had triplets after trying for several years
Given she couldn't conceive, she wasn't on contraception. She was pregnant again 12 weeks after having the triplets Blush

TangerineDreams · 08/11/2021 22:11

Couple of times with our firstborn, a dozen with DD2 (after a MC so cycle was not settled) and DS was the product of one single time in almost 2 years of abstinence (great relationship but sex was forgotten and put on the back burner after DD2)
