@LouLou0505 lol don't worry hun, you probs be doing a lot more moaning when you have more kids. It is really difficult having other kids. I'm just glad that my 2 are old enough. Especially the eldest.
You sound like your enjoying your time girl.

Is anyone else worried about anyone in the family getting covid in the run up to due date? The midwife reminded me yesterday that if anyone in our household gets it in the 10 days pre labour then chances are I won't be able to have my husband with me when I go in. This thought really upsets me as I can't imagine having to labour on my own. My mum lives in France and I don't have a sister and don't feel like I'd want to go through something as personal as giving birth with a friend. I guess I've just got to make sure we're all really sensible about not exposing ourselves to it, but it's tricky with two children at two different schools where there's constant cases of it 😔 Just have to keep fingers crossed and hope for the best I suppose!

SouthwestSis · 23/11/2021 22:26

Yeah it is a real worry @burtle4
Husband and I will definitely be winding down social contact in the last couple of weeks of pregnancy to reduce the chances of this happening, but it's so hard when you've got school age kids.
All you can do is ask your kids to be as careful as they can be with washing their hands.
It does make me quite annoyed how relax England is being about it when you look at the protections other countries are putting in place.
I also want there to be enough midwives around to delivery my baby and covid cases are impacting on labour ward staffing too!

burtle4 · 23/11/2021 22:33

@SouthwestSis I'd been pretty relaxed about it all up until my conversation with the midwife yesterday. I guess I hadn't really thought about it too much which is a good thing I suppose because otherwise I would have been worrying this whole time! I spoke to my kids about it this morning and said that we all have to try and be careful and my son came home from school with his mask still on and said he hadn't taken it off all day! Bless him, I don't want him to feel like he has to do that, especially when he's outside, but he's so sweet when it comes to worrying about the health of me and baby ❤

xTinkerbell · 23/11/2021 22:51

I’m freaking just now because my brother thinks he has it, he lives with my mum and dad and they’re my childcare for my little boy while my partner and I work.

Keeping my fingers crossed none of the rest of us get it

jadey1991 · 24/11/2021 01:53

Hey, having a moan now. Left leg is really bothering me now. I cannot get to sleep. I feel so sleep deprived.. I feel like crying.

OP posts:
burtle4 · 24/11/2021 07:34

Oh gosh @xTinkerbell, I really hope none of the rest of you get it - although depending on how far along you are and how long until due date maybe you've got time to get it out of the way?
@jadey1991 it sounds like you're having real problems with your leg, have you seen a doctor about it or is it restless leg syndrome? Hope you managed to get some sleep in the end x

jadey1991 · 24/11/2021 08:22

@burtle4 it's restless leg syndrome but it's been bothering me the whole 2nd and 3rd trimester. I managed to get 2 hours sleep. I feel like crap. And I have school run to do. 🤦🏽‍♀️ I'm just too exhausted now. Yes spoke to doctor and MW but there is nothing they can do except I do leg and foot excise which I have been doing but no help.

SouthwestSis · 24/11/2021 08:59

Ah @xTinkerbell that is not the stress you need!
Has your brother had his PCR swab result? Are they all double jabbed in their house?
How long do you have left at work?

lovebeingmum9 · 24/11/2021 09:02

@LouLou0505 I remember when I was a first timer and could sit down relax, take baths whenever I wanted and even sleep during the day.....and i still complained how tired i was after running the hoover around! 😅 @burtle yes it is a worry especially as there's so much happening on the run up to Christmas with school! I still wear a mask in school grounds, shops etc but not alot of others do anymore and with 3 children in school they are all mixing with all years! When I went to hospital for scan at the weekend they didn't even check people's temperatures like they have before so I think everyone is getting too relaxed again! @jadey1991 aw hun it's terrible for you....I really hope your leg gives you a much needed rest before baby comes or at least in the few weeks after baby is born! I know I've only been getting a few solid hours sleep and it affects my day big time! Counting down now...23 days until my due date! 😁💙

xTinkerbell · 24/11/2021 09:21

@SouthwestSis pcr came back negative this morning but he has no sense of taste so he’s still keeping away from my mum and dad. All double jabbed, my dads due his booster either this week or next.

I finish up work a week on Friday

SouthwestSis · 24/11/2021 09:43

Ah that's very sensible then as it almost certainly is Covid isn't it!
So your little one is still going there for childcare in the meantime then until you finish work?

xTinkerbell · 24/11/2021 09:59

@southwestsis My dads going to watch the little one at my house so he’s not in the house. He is still around my dad but with my dad keeping away from my brother hopefully all will be okay

jadey1991 · 24/11/2021 10:24

@lovebeingmum9 yes it's a terrible time for me. I'm just so over it now. Whatever I do doesn't seem to work. I really do hope that once I've had baby everything will be better. I don't know what it is but it drains me. Defo not long now. ❤️

OP posts:
jadey1991 · 24/11/2021 10:25

@xTinkerbell glad it came back negative. Although the has lost his sense of taste. Maybe he should repeat the pcr test again in the next 24-48 hours just in case.

xTinkerbell · 24/11/2021 10:39

@jadey1991 yeah he’s said he’ll go for another one tomorrow so we’ll see!

tuxedocat · 24/11/2021 11:22

I feel you all on the tiredness! It’s def harder with kids already, I feel like I don’t stop and I’m trying to make myself slow down but it doesn’t seem to happen!

I’m not finishing work so I wish I had a countdown, I’m so jealous of you all!

I’m toying with getting a lighter pushchair, my son is 4 this week so he doesn’t use one at all but I don’t know how difficult it will be using a normal pushchair with a child?!

JW2021 · 24/11/2021 12:43

Anyone getting their booster Covid shot with only 4 weeks to go until DD ? - I’m holding off at least all my family can get it now anyone 5 yrs & up - what’s the limitations on the UK at the mo?

LouLou0505 · 24/11/2021 13:31

Just having a little moan here because I’m so pissed off!!

Had my midwife app today, she was off sick today however shes wasted a whole 2 weeks by not getting my appointment with the consultant sorted.. so I’m 36weeks tomorrow and no further forward!

My midwife today was so shocked and rushed to get me one for next Thursday!

Baby boy also is in an unknown position and still not growing correctly on the chart so I’m now waiting for a call with a growth and position scan 🤦🏻‍♀️

LouLou0505 · 24/11/2021 13:32

I’ve only just had my second COVID jab and we don’t get boosters until 6 months after that and that’s only if you are in the booster category I think!

SouthwestSis · 24/11/2021 14:08

Anyone who is 3rd trimester should qualify for a booster in the UK if it is 6 months on from your second dose (the benefit of 2 jabs falls significantly by 6 months so this is really important to get a top up if anyone is due a booster).
Ask your midwife or GP if you are struggling to access a booster as 3rd trimester is the MOST RISKY time for us!

jadey1991 · 24/11/2021 15:55

@LouLou0505 aww hun I can only imagine how you feel. That's not good at all. Something should have been done before hand.
Oh no so your midwife can't tell how baby is laying? Let us know what they say hun. Try not to stress please

OP posts:
jadey1991 · 24/11/2021 15:56

@JW2021 no haven't had any of the jabs.

OP posts:
lovebeingmum9 · 24/11/2021 16:43

@jadey1991 yeah not long now! 😊 I feel for you hun it's hard work x
@tuxedocat I've got a 2yr old who is good at walking but being heavily pregnant I can't manage him walking all the time yet so I'm going to get a buggy board so he can walk or hitch a ride....might be handy for your 4yr old too as I bet my 4yr old will want a go too....Will have to draw the line for our 7& 10yr old otherwise they would all be on it 😅
I've not had the covid vaccines either but am being as cautious as I can be,hubby is double jabbed but it will just be us home at Christmas!

tuxedocat · 24/11/2021 17:45

@lovebeingmum9 I have debated a buggy board, I don’t think he’d walk again! Wonder if I could jump on and then get my husband to push me too 😂
I just tried our bugaboo in our car (a GLC Coupe) and it literally just fits 🤦🏻‍♀️ I mean like it skims the top of the boot! a hatchback would have been a better idea!!

I had my second covid jab last week so I probably won’t qualify for a booster. For us it’s impossible to stop any social contact with my son in preschool so we just have to hope and stay as sanitised as we can do I think.
