Any ivf pregnancies ?

I'm only 6+2 and super paranoid about absolutely everything. Had my fet on the 28/09, it was our second fet after the first one failed, I had bleeding before I even got to the otd. My scan is this Thursday and it's fair to say I'm bricking it.

Would be nice to chat with some ladies who've done ivf, I have been keeping an eye on the June 2022 thread but sometimes I find I can't relate.

Ok so here's another one of my pregnancy symptoms that I have a question on

Does anyone else or is it normal to have a fullness all over my bump? I have just eaten but that's the thing I'm getting full very quick so have to literally graze, I go from feeling am I feeling sick or hungry and can't tell the difference- sometimes it's a bit of both so that's not helped

But now I have a fullness feeling, quite uncomfortable
I'm only 12wks, so know this comes near the end when things are a bit squashed

I can't remember this with my 1st

I've been ever so bloated ever since stims so could this be part of the reason?

I also have a fairly big bump/bloat

X

strawberrysummer19 · 14/01/2022 20:42

And I've had a few scans - had some large cysts which have got smaller and smaller x

JAR1981 · 14/01/2022 21:11

@paintfairy they moved my due date at the 12 week scan too from 4th to 2nd June. Weird given it’s IVF so they know for certain however it was only 2 days in my case. It just means I would be induced/c-section 2 days earlier if I go full term. Did they just move you up one day? Yeah they don’t do body part measurements until 20 weeks onwards when they get bigger.

Not long to wait @strawberrysummer19 :)

paintfairy · 14/01/2022 21:20

@JAR1981 she did say to me that the reason they have to go on measurements is to keep things consistent. When doing all the other measurements for tests etc. Otherwise something might seem out when it's not. She did say she had me measured as 12+5 and was that consistent with the ivf and I said yes, by a day. And she said that was fine and it isn't usually way out, only a day or 2. I'm guessing that EDD won't change again though, will it? Or might it change at the 20 week scan?
I suppose when they are getting to the birth point- if they are doing an induction or c section i maybe would be against doing it too much before I knew i was technically due, but a couple of days won't matter really.

strawberrysummer19 · 14/01/2022 21:33

My friend who is also pregnant she had an 8wk scan due to a bleed and all was ok - she was dated using her lmp and at her 12 week scan they said they wouldn't change what they've already given her so I'm guessing they wouldn't change the dates?

I'll ask at my scan next Wednesday and see what they say x

Etonmess20 · 14/01/2022 21:38

I was measuring 5 days ahead at my 12 week scan & my dates weren't changed, they told me they use the IVF dates as they know they're correct. At my 20 week scan they didn't date baby/tell us we were X weeks, they just plotted us on the growth graphs

strawberrysummer19 · 14/01/2022 21:46

That makes sense then. I was measuring 2 days ahead at my 11+4 scan so I'll see what they say Wednesday when I'll be 13+1

Then no more scans until my 20week one
But I don't regret having the early scans - it's definitely helped me worry less

So what's the rules for ivf babies
Do they not let you go full term or over?

My midwife said today they keep an eye with regular visits but just wondering. I'd be happier not going full term/late I think - I know I'd be worrying more
X

JAR1981 · 14/01/2022 23:29

I think it depends on your hospital. They changed my EDD to what I was measuring at my 12 week scan in my maternity notes. Others I think they go with IVF dates. My consultant wasn’t concerned as only 2 days difference. Either way it won’t change after your 12 week scan date though.

Hufflepuff1 · 15/01/2022 15:10

Hello everyone, hope you are all well. It's been a while since I've been active on here. Truth is I've had bad anxiety and didn't know how to handle it. Have looked over the last few pages, glad you are all well. I will hopefully be 11 weeks tomorrow and have already had a trip to the EPU due to bleeding. It turns out I have a SCH so it explains why I have been spotting on and off and why I have had a few occasions of pink / red blood too. The nurse at the epu didn't do a great job at managing my anxiety as she told me there's a chance that the more I bleed the more chance the SCH will take the baby with it. I've seen read a lot online of course and can see it can go either way so just have to hope it goes. I've been resting since which seems to be helping the bleeding so if anyone comes across this I would advise rest as much as possible. I am just praying it has gone smaller / disappeared by the time I go for my 12 week scan which I'm still waiting the appointment for. I've had my booking appointment with the midwife and she didn't really have any advice about the SCH which was frustrating! Baby was measuring ok so I'm trying to remain as positive as I can! Symptoms have been coming and going since the beginning so I don't think they are a great indication of anything going wrong.

2mumlife · 15/01/2022 16:22

Hi everyone, thank you for the well wishes. Took some time to recovery emotionally from the rollercoaster. Feeling better now, and everything has settled down to nearly nothing (still slightly brown pessary gunk).

Symptoms wise I'm neuseous but have yet to actually puke, so feel thats a win. I'm finding a tend to have a good day followed by a worse day with it too. My breasts feel HUGE and fake they are so swollen today.

Really interesting to hear how many of you are consultant led? We've decided to hold off contacting NHS for booking in appoint until we get the all clear at next clinic scan.

@Hufflepuff1 I seem to be lucky that the only evidence of bleeding they saw on scan was actually away from baby, rather than by its placenta from what I understand. I read a few scary things about SCH too but then I stopped as decided if we got through that big bleed ok, I needed to be more positive. I do hope though that next scan shows bleedings stopped

strawberrysummer19 · 15/01/2022 20:56

Evening everyone

I've started to feel an ache across all of my bump, I've have had the odd pain and pulling sensation since 2ww on and off but haven't in a while and this one feels quite strong 😬
Taken some lactalose incase it's wind as I struggle with that and not being able to go often but tonight's feels quite like a period pain and all over

Anyone else have the same around this time?12+4 as a bit worried

Thank you

Lots of gurgles going in at the mo xx

paintfairy · 15/01/2022 22:42

@strawberrysummer19 could be digestive, as I've had that on and off. But since yesterday I've had on and off pains that I don't like. I've never had them before. Kind of a cross between pains and cramps but it's low down. Also lower back has hurt at times. I only had a scan yesterday though! But I've not really had anything much at all before now so anything new is always worrying, but likely normal? I hope.

2mumlife · 16/01/2022 07:32

@strawberrysummer19 @paintfairy No advise, but hope things have settled down for you both

strawberrysummer19 · 16/01/2022 08:22

@paintfairy I have had lower back pain for a while so I think that's normal I just didn't like that ache I had last night. It's more gurgly this morning now. Like you say hope it's all normal.
I have my scan Wednesday so will update after that xx

JAR1981 · 16/01/2022 08:46

@strawberrysummer19 my bump has been sore for the past 2 weeks on and off. I’m certain it’s digestive. Lactulose seems to only make me windier but fibogel and prune juice have been helping. Bump has been tender to touch at times and goes hard all over.

@paintfairy have you looked at whether it could be round ligament pain?

Hope you are both feeling better soon

paintfairy · 16/01/2022 08:58

@JAR1981 yes. But it looks like that is more sharp pains (I have had the odd one) as opposed to crampy/achy?

strawberrysummer19 · 16/01/2022 09:21

@JAR1981 thats reassuring to know, hoping mine is ligament pain

I'm not sure the lactalose helps but it's gone this morning so I'll see how I go. Lactose definitely makes me windy but I think it's getting it all out!!

I tried prune juice and I couldn't drink it as it really turned my stomach - did try.

X

strawberrysummer19 · 16/01/2022 10:39

@paintfairy I eee what you mean - mine is definitely more achey and dull ache not sharp pains but I read this and hopefully we just have that

Are you small framed ? Even though I've had a baby already I'm fairly small framed so it may just be everything having a good stretch! That's what I'm going to take from this as I always find something to worry about!!

This is reassuring -

What does round ligament pain feel like? Round ligament pain can feel different for different people. It may feel achy or crampy, sharp or stabbing. You might experience the sensations on one or both sides of the lower abdomen

TheSnufflet · 16/01/2022 12:19

@2mumlife I'm so happy everything is okay, I had everything crossed for you Smile I did the same thing as you, didn't contact the midwife team until I had my 8w scan, I felt like I didn't want to jinx it! It'll depend on your area as to whether they classify you as high risk/consultant-led (some areas seem to automatically deem IVF pregnancies as high-risk).

@paintfairy @strawberrysummer19 I think I know what you both mean RE pain, although I would describe it as 'stretchy womb feel' - I had sensations really similar to period pains up until about 9 weeks and after that it's a very odd sensation that does feel like.. stretching? I do occasionally get the sharp stabby pain though, usually if I stand up too fast!

paintfairy · 16/01/2022 12:25

@TheSnufflet @strawberrysummer19 I don't think I'm small framed but then I'm not large either. I've wide hips! But I've never had a baby before and I'm old. 🤣 Today it feels more like pulling low down, worse if I straighten after sitting? So maybe it is just the stretching. I have a definite bump now. I've had the sharp pains when I stand up quick or sneeze etc (before now though, and not that often) but this is more like an ache. Its not constant today or anything so maybe it's fine. Its so hard to know what is normal!

2mumlife · 16/01/2022 15:34

@TheSnufflet Thanks lovely. Things are continuing in the right direction - nearly entirely back to white pessary gunk which is good, but yes, just wanting to get to next scan first before we make next moves. I guess we'll just need to see about all this consultant stuff. I also have a short cervix which is a bit of a worry - clinic have written twice now to my GP at different points in our treatment journey to say I should be monitored. My sister also had a short cervix though and avoided havimng to have a stitch or anything so I'm hoping I can avoid it too

LemonyT · 16/01/2022 15:36

Hey hope everyone is holding up well.
Myself, I tend to find most my pain is low on the sides- just above my hip bones. Wondering if this is round ligament pain?

@Holskey how did your gender scan go?
I had mine today, your guess was right - Boy! My intuition is so off lol! We feel a bit guilty having thought of baby as girl for 16 weeks! Lol! Obs we’re just thrilled that baby looked healthy at the scan. Just need NHS scan to confirm now at 20 weeks!

paintfairy · 16/01/2022 15:45

@LemonyT see mine is just above my pubic bone and across the front? Bit of pulling in my thighs maybe too! Congrats on the boy! I reckon mine is but obviously we've no idea. I look at all the skull and nub stuff but the more I look the more I actually can't tell anything. 🤣

Maybe I'll give you a pic for guesses! What do people think? This is the 12 week one.

Any ivf pregnancies ?

LemonyT · 16/01/2022 15:58

@2mumlife how did you find out about short cervix? my mum had a short cervix and needed bed rest with both pregnancies with me and my sister. I raised this with my midwife but she said it wouldn’t affect me. I’m wondering how they know this as I’ve never been checked or anything!

@paintfairy clearly I’m not one I I be trusted with this sort of thing! So my initial thought was looking at yours was boy - so going by my track record I’m going counterintuitive and say girl!

paintfairy · 16/01/2022 16:01

@LemonyT 🤣 who knows. I'm terrible. But then I was reading some posts on MN the other day where they were told girl at 20 weeks, then boy at 32! 😲 Someone else said they were told girl at both, and out popped a boy at birth. 🤣 So if the professionals don't know, I guess I have no hope. 😁
