I'm only 6+2 and super paranoid about absolutely everything. Had my fet on the 28/09, it was our second fet after the first one failed, I had bleeding before I even got to the otd. My scan is this Thursday and it's fair to say I'm bricking it.

Would be nice to chat with some ladies who've done ivf, I have been keeping an eye on the June 2022 thread but sometimes I find I can't relate.

Hey everyone. I want to say a massive thank you for the precious positive thoughts 🙏 when my tank of positivity was empty. Apparently this little bean isn't willing to give up the fight yet - bean was absolutely fine, measuring actually 1 day ahead of dates at 6+1, with a little heartbeat flickering away ♥️ Clinic things I've had a hematoma that came away in dramatic fashion, but only thing they could see now was a small area of bleeding now. I'm back for a scan in just over a week (my original scan date) just to check everything is ok, with instructions to take it easy and call back if I get any more bouts of bleeding. I feel like I've been rung out last 32 hours and want to go for a very long sleep.

paintfairy · 13/01/2022 19:31

@TheSnufflet I've had absolutely no spotting or bleeding at all though whilst on it. I also didn't when I did the iui and had it. But every other month without fail I have. I've no idea why it is, but i didn't want to risk it.
@strawberrysummer19 it'll definitely be strange not having to remember it! It's a pain.
@2mumlife that's absolutely brilliant news! 🥳 I'm so pleased for you. Fingers crossed that'll be the last scare for you.

strawberrysummer19 · 13/01/2022 19:32

@2mumlife yay!!! I was sooooo hoping I would be reading something like this
So very pleased for you xx

Holskey · 13/01/2022 19:41

@2mumlife amazing ❤ Must have been so emotional seeing your little one's beating heart after such a scare. Hopefully that's your share of drama done and the rest of your pregnancy will be smooth 🤞

2022babyhope · 13/01/2022 19:49

Hi everyone 😊 finally had my first scan on Tuesday and found out it's twins! They're in separate sacs and both little heartbeats were flickering away.

One measured exactly 7+3 which I was, and the other 7+1 but the nurse didn't seem worried.

Any advice on how to cope with the wait between scans?? I have a private one booked for 10 weeks and then I presume I'll have my nhs one at around 12 but I'm finding the wait so hard!

Feels like we've waited so long for this I'm terrified of it being taken away.

strawberrysummer19 · 13/01/2022 20:58

I'm still feeling sick and I'm just over 12 weeks
No actual sickness but nausea and I keep going to the toilet and wretching - I feel fed up with it as it's been here most days for 5 weeks now

Is this normal? I know some people say it can last longer but just feel like it's never ending!

Anyone else? X

Holskey · 14/01/2022 00:52

Congratulations @2022babyhope. Twins! How lovely 🥰 I didn't find anything to help with the anxious waiting unfortunately. I just lived through it very slowly, grateful for each pregnant day. It gets easier the further along you get. Never easy, but easier. Have you had any sickness? I found that distracted me a little!

@strawberrysummer19 I looked forward to 12 weeks in both my pregnancies like my sickness would magically disappear. It didn't but it did start to get gradually better. I think I was 16 weeks before I felt normal first pregnancy but getting better all the time. If you look at a graph of hcg levels they've already started to come down at 12 weeks but it takes a few weeks for them to come right down.

2022babyhope · 14/01/2022 06:43

Thank you @Holskey 🥰 oh the sickness has been real 😅 it has got a little better but have a constant aversion to food and general sicky feeling. Most mornings between 9-11 are spent retching unfortunately but it certainly is a distraction!

Donimo · 14/01/2022 07:10

@strawberrysummer19 I am 12 weeks and still having sickness and still needing to take medication for it. I do now have the odd day (twice this week) when I feel better and think its gone. But then yesterday I was off work with sickness and exhaustion. I remember from my last pregnancy I did start to feel better at around this time but still occasional bad days till about 14-16 weeks. Thinking it maybe worse this time though as I am expecting twins.

@2022babyhope congratulations on your twins. Took me weeks to get over the shock of finding out we were expecting twins. But I did only have 1 embryo transfered so never thought it could be possible. Hope your doing well.

strawberrysummer19 · 14/01/2022 07:47

I feel better knowing that it's normal ! I'm worrying about lack of symptoms then worrying thinking should I still be feeling this?!

I have bad headaches too ( and skin) and I suppose they are all reassuring signs and definite distractions

Work have now noticed my 'bump' I have a fair bump/bloat now. I 'feel' pregnant if that makes sense, sicky, headaches and bad back and sometimes get a breathless feeling which I've actually had since the 2ww but everything comes and goes and to be honest I'm actually loving the fact it's happened vs the way it makes me feel sometimes as the sicky feeling and wretching does get me down

I also feel soooo tired I have to drag myself out of bed to get myself to do school run and work. I'm lucky I'm only part time (22hrs) but I do struggle with the tiredness when it comes to
The evening x

Porridgeislife · 14/01/2022 08:14

@strawberrysummer19 I spent my 11th and 12th weeks over Christmas beached on the sofa feeling sorry for myself with constant nausea that was only partially relieved by Cyclizine.

During my mid 13th week it miraculously cleared up over 3 days and I feel absolutely fine now in my 14th week. They do say if generally clears up about week 14 x

I have however switched it for the early stages of PGP this week as my coccyx is absolutely killing me and my pelvis is starting to click Hmm

paintfairy · 14/01/2022 08:46

I was never sick but I did feel sick. Mine stopped though about week 10. Which then also seems worrying. No matter what happens it seems a concern. 🙄🤣

JAR1981 · 14/01/2022 10:55

@2mumlife amazing news, such a relief for you. I think SCH are much more common with IVF, but if they could see it’s come away then hopefully no more scary moments for you.

@paintfairy it’s scan day! How are you feeling? I have been feeling pretty pants this week as my digestive system seems to have completely forgotten how to behave. At least that’s kept me distracted however I dreamt last night I found out my IVF transfer had failed and almost woke up crying. Hopefully it will be good news in 4-5 hours for both of us!

@2022babyhope congratulations on your twins.

paintfairy · 14/01/2022 11:03

@JAR1981 partly excited but partly nervous! I feel more positive than previously but I keep having dreams there's something wrong, so clearly it's playing on my mind. 🤞🤞

strawberrysummer19 · 14/01/2022 11:06

@Porridgeislife it's one thing then another !!

@paintfairy I'm the same when I'm not sick I'm like worrying !! Then the sickness returns!!

Happy scab day wahooo!!!

I've just had a call from my midwife was wondering the next steps after booking app

So she has booked my 16wk app for 9th feb, told me my bloods were fine
Went through my 12 wk scan and made sure I've booked app for bloods on same day
Has told me I have a consultant so that's good
They will be in contact 12-20 wks maybe even after 20wk scan
Just incase anyone is at this stage x

paintfairy · 14/01/2022 12:04

@strawberrysummer19 funny how different it is everywhere!
At my booking appointment she booked in my 16 week appointment. I've spoken to no one since my last appointment. At which i was referred to my chosen hospital for the 12 week scan. I am assuming (or maybe not) that things from my booking appointment are ok unless you hear anything. And in actual fact i did get a letter through the post saying I'm rhesus d negative, which I did not know, and that worried me slightly until I worked out it wasn't the end of the world. I'm hoping there's nothing else though, that I just don't yet know about!

paintfairy · 14/01/2022 12:05

Oh, I've also got a consultant appointment next week when I'm 13+2. No idea what for.

Cakecakecheese · 14/01/2022 12:09

@paintfairy

I was never sick but I did feel sick. Mine stopped though about week 10. Which then also seems worrying. No matter what happens it seems a concern. 🙄🤣
@paintfairy you don't know how much I needed to hear this today! This is very much me right now. Trying to stay calm is a challenge! I'm 10 weeks on Sunday and I finally have my midwife appointment on Wednesday. I look forward to being able to blurt out all my feelings at her Grin
strawberrysummer19 · 14/01/2022 12:24

@paintfairy I was told I was under a consultant for age, ivf and previous issue of overactive thyroid which is now level
I asked what this means and she said it will most likely be remote and that I just have more appointments and will be kept an eye on
Also I may be induced at 38 wks depending on how my pregnancy goes so that was quite interesting

I had a very traumatic natural birth with my daughter 10yrs ago and have been thinking about elective c section but I will be deciding nearer the time as I feel I have enough anxieties at the moment to deal with so if that's the case the c section may work

X

paintfairy · 14/01/2022 16:49

@Cakecakecheese I had a scan at 10+6 and my nhs one today at 12+4 and the baby is still there! So I hope that reassures you a bit.
@JAR1981 everything OK? Mine is measuring one day ahead. Just got to await the dreaded test results now.
@strawberrysummer19 I'm not sure if they'll put me under a consultant or not. But I guess I'll find out next week! Maybe due to ivf and age? 🤷‍♀️

becarefuloutthere · 14/01/2022 16:51

@paintfairy great news! Glad all went well 🥰

JAR1981 · 14/01/2022 16:59

Great news @paintfairy! My scan also went well. It took a while to get there with all the measurements as baby was facing away from my tummy, very wriggly and had its head right down in my pelvis but got there in the end. Everything looked normal I am so so relieved! Measuring 2-7 days ahead depending on which body part!

@strawberrysummer19 my consultant appointment was at 19 weeks due to age, ivf, thyroid and blood clotting issue. He said as I am consultant led I will automatically get extra growth scans at 28, 32 and 36 weeks which I think is nhs standard.

paintfairy · 14/01/2022 17:08

@JAR1981 mine was actually lying in the perfect place as she started. So she was like oh I'll do this first! Fell lucky. 🤣 Mine didn't say about body parts, just said at the end she'd put it at 12+5 and was that in line roughly with what I thought? Although explained that would now be my official date, due to test consistency.

strawberrysummer19 · 14/01/2022 17:40

@paintfairy @JAR1981 congratulations on your lovely scan news. I can't wait for mine next Wednesday! Have spent the afternoon wretching so hoping that clears soon!

Interesting about the consultant - I'm happy about that and like the thought of growth scans x

Holskey · 14/01/2022 18:03

Congratulations on your scans @JAR1981 and @paintfairy! (It's normal to only measure crown-rump length for age so don't worry. It's 20 weeks they measure lots.) I also had my due date moved because I measured 2 days ahead. I quite like being further along even if I know I'm not really 😂

Consultant led seems pretty standard for IVF. I think someone way back on this thread said they weren't (iirc) but I think most people are.

I've booked a gender scan for tomorrow. Very excited!
