I'm only 6+2 and super paranoid about absolutely everything. Had my fet on the 28/09, it was our second fet after the first one failed, I had bleeding before I even got to the otd. My scan is this Thursday and it's fair to say I'm bricking it.

Would be nice to chat with some ladies who've done ivf, I have been keeping an eye on the June 2022 thread but sometimes I find I can't relate.

@Etonmess20 it's nice to hear that because you forget there's an end to it! I know!! I was like what if I cough at my scan last night?! I have done PCR but only yesterday as I've been laterflowing all week but when I called the GP they said to PCR. But this definitely feels like a bad cold but still need to be sure I guess. It's horrible timing as I had things on this week and now just feel like I'm sitting around Ill!

Ah that's so lovely! I remember them well with my 1st. I actually missed that feeling when she was born xx

Etonmess20 · 22/12/2021 08:26

@strawberrysummer19 luckily no one said anything to me but I think wearing a mask dried my throat & made it tickle more so I coughed more...the irony!! You also take for granted in non pregnant times being able to take some cold & flu tablets & get on with life!!
Have you got a date in for your 12 week scan?

strawberrysummer19 · 22/12/2021 08:31

@Etonmess20 I took a polo in and it worked wonders. Until the sonographer kept asking me to shuffle down a bit more, bit more, little bit more until I was practically laying down ! And I had to pass it to my fiancé in fear of chocking!!

I know or a sore throat sweet! Would love one of those! Ive has a paracetamol here and there
I didn't want to but I just felt I'm balancing against if I get a little relief surely that better than constant coughing?!

No actually I haven't - I should hopefully hear soon? Maybe because it's Xmas week now things will be delayed ?

I have my midwife on 31st Dec so that's exciting
She offered me 18th but we were away! So she's squeezed me in x

Hi everyone,

Looking for some advice of those further along or that have past experience. I am 7+3 today and all of last week had nausea and morning sickness. Then suddenly it seems to have stopped. I haven't been sick in a few days and even the nausea has pretty much disappeared this week. Not that I want to be sick but it was reassuring in a weird sort of way. Should I be worried? Or are symptoms likely to come and go? It's my first pregnancy so I have no idea what to expect and no one in real life to ask as we haven't told family yet.

I received today the confirmation of my nuchal scan which is booked for 21st January, but nothing yet about the first midwife appointment. I thought there was an initial appointment before the scan... or is it the other way around?

I hope you are all doing well xx

LemonyT · 23/12/2021 02:28

Hello everyone. I’ve been off the boards for several weeks now as I needed to step back due to anxiety leading up to 12 weeks. It’s lovely to see so many women having bfps and positive first scans :) I had my 12 week scan today and it went positively! So relieved.

@Novavee sorry to hear this is causing concern. I never had much nausea so can’t advise, but I’m sure it comes and goes in waves if that’s any help? Yes you should have a mid-wives appointment at 8/9 weeks mark. My appointment letter didn’t arrive until the week before the appointment date so maybe it’s on its way to you!

I have a question for all you ladies ( especially those with retroverted uteruses - I recall there’s a few on the thread). Last couple of weeks or so I’ve had the urge to wee, straight after I’ve been to the toilet! Obvs nothing comes out though. The feeling dies down if I ignore it after about 30 mins - until I go for a wee again! Is this normal? Have any of you ladies experienced this? It’s the only symptom I have now at almost 13 weeks, so would be wonderful if I knew it was going to go away soon!

LemonyT · 23/12/2021 02:29

Lying here at night waiting for the urge to pee to disappear Sad

RiverRiot · 23/12/2021 10:27

@LemonyT So glad your scan went well. It could be a UTI so I’d speak to your GP to be on the safe side.

Pleased everyone else’s scans are going well too.

Good luck for yours tomorrow @Etonmess20 so exciting! Sorry you’ve been feeling a little grotty, hope you’re better soon.

RiverRiot · 23/12/2021 10:28

Good luck for yours today @Holskey!

Holskey · 23/12/2021 10:51

Thanks @RiverRiot. My scan isn't until this afternoon so I'm driving myself mad with impatience!

@Novavee I didn't have this but I've spoken to plenty of people who have. As long as you don't have bad symptoms (bleeding, severe cramping etc) I think you just have to try to believe it's okay. If you're really worried though, don't be afraid to contact your gp/midwife.
With regards to the appointments- it's different everywhere but here they generally have them at 9-10 weeks and they don't book the scan until after (which is by far the most important part so it's good you've got that sorted already!).

So glad your scan went well @LemonyT 🥰 I have a retroverted uterus and yes I have experienced this. I assumed it was just hormones or growing uterus. It hasn't worried me but the urge isn't particularly annoying. If yours is concerning you, trust your instincts - could be a UTI which is definitely better dealt with sooner rather than later as it can spread to the kidneys.

Glad your scan went well too @strawberrysummer19 😍

Porridgeislife · 23/12/2021 11:42

@LemonyT When your uterus is retroverted it sits over the bladder so as things grow it can press against it which might be causing your issues. But it would be worth running it past your midwife in case it’s a UTI.

@Holskey Good luck with your scan! Mine is also this afternoon.

Holskey · 23/12/2021 17:50

My scan went well, thankfully 🥰 Again, they care not one jot about my ivf dates, and they adjusted my dates (I can't remember who on here I was talking to about that). So they've changed me to 12+4 but I maintain I'm 12+2.

Hope both of yours went well @AMN3000 and @Porridgeislife.

Etonmess20 · 23/12/2021 19:23

Congratulations on your scan @Holskey so bizarre they changed your dates. I was 5 days ahead & mine got kept the same! Neither here nor there really but just strange how they don't do things the same everywhere!

Congratulations on your scan @LemonyT really glad to hear everything was good

@RiverRiot thank you! I'm really excited for tomorrow. I would say it's the first scan I've been "excited" for but I'm sure I'll still be petrified before I go in tomorrow!

@strawberrysummer19 hope you're feeling a little better today! Exciting your booking appointment isn't far away! I got my 12 week scan letter just before booking appointment but different places do it differently don't they so who knows! Definitely ask on 31st if you don't have it though!

Done our lateral flows today ahead of 20 week scan tomorrow & both clear thankfully 🙏🏼 so many people seem to have covid at the minute!

AMN3000 · 23/12/2021 20:21

Miscarriage. Empty sack, no baby, no heartbeat. Now just have to stop the meds and wait for nature to take its course.

Absolutely gutted.

strawberrysummer19 · 23/12/2021 20:30

@Etonmess20 I was thinking I would ask at my booking app but I'm hoping like you I will get my scan letter maybe next week.
I'm feeling so much better - pcr is back and confirmed negative so that's good
Cough still there and not 100% but so much better than I have been feeling so happy it's in time for Xmas. Went out and did my final last minute bits today.
Ohh how exciting, look forward to your update and a piccy if you wanted to share xx

@AMN3000 I'm so so sorry - sending hugs x

Etonmess20 · 23/12/2021 20:40

@AMN3000 I'm so so sorry to hear that you didn't get good news today. Sending so much love xxx

Etonmess20 · 23/12/2021 20:43

@strawberrysummer19 glad you're feeling better & that your PCR was negative! Glad you managed to get your last bits sorted for Christmas too! We're all done & wrapped now, feels soooo good!

We're leaving 2 hours before our appointment time for the 15 minute journey so I'm sure some coffees & sitting around but I will not miss that appointment!! 😂

paintfairy · 23/12/2021 20:48

@AMN3000 I'm so sorry. I hope you are OK. 💐💐

Porridgeislife · 23/12/2021 21:14

Holskey · 23/12/2021 22:05

@AMN3000 really sorry to hear that Sad

LemonyT · 24/12/2021 08:32

@AMN3000 I’m so sorry. There are no words. Thoughts are with you at this time. X

RiverRiot · 24/12/2021 08:46

@AMN3000 Oh this is just awful. I’m so very sorry your loss, sending you lots of love. Flowers

SerendipitySunshine · 24/12/2021 08:49

So sorry to hear your news @AMN3000

strawberrysummer19 · 24/12/2021 09:04

@Etonmess20 it feels nice to be prepared doesn't it. I always try to buy struggled this year with this horrendous cold!

Soo excited for you today! Xmas eve scan how lovely xx

Porridgeislife · 24/12/2021 12:28

We had our combined 12 week scan & Harmony results yesterday. Baby appears to be low risk for the big trisonomies and all the measurements from the scan were average so a really lovely Christmas present for us. We also found out the sex - my hunch was right and our embryo is what I thought it would be.

I’ve got my NHS nuchal scan on NYE so will get to see it again next week. After IVF it feels very strange that you go 8-16 weeks in pregnancy without scans if you’re low risk!
