I'm only 6+2 and super paranoid about absolutely everything. Had my fet on the 28/09, it was our second fet after the first one failed, I had bleeding before I even got to the otd. My scan is this Thursday and it's fair to say I'm bricking it.

Would be nice to chat with some ladies who've done ivf, I have been keeping an eye on the June 2022 thread but sometimes I find I can't relate.

Hi everyone, just checking in and updating.
My clinic does an early scan and I mine on Friday (6+1) and it made me feel so much better to know there is actually a baby in there, I feel more connected now as before I was trying to protect myself too much I think. It was really clear and we could see the heartbeat nice and strong. They do another at 8 weeks so just before Christmas for me too… and then we are discharged to the NHS. I’ve self referred as recommended but not heard anything from them.

Welcome @unknownscot and look forward to hearing all about the scan. This group is great for advice and I am sure some of the girls who are further along will help with your question 😊

Frenchie86 · 13/12/2021 09:45

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone is getting their covid boosters soon? I’ve booked mine for tomorrow after much research which does show there are no side effects to the baby, but now paranoid I should wait? I’ll be 12 weeks on Friday. Having looked at the Covid jab thread on here I have seen plenty of women get a jab in the first trimester and be ok but just wanted to know what your thoughts were?

Frenchie86 · 13/12/2021 09:47

@makeithappen2022 congrats on your pregnancy! The early scan definitely helps, otherwise it’s you and your thoughts. So nice you get one before Xmas. Re the self referral, mine was quite quick but I know some can be slower as they wait until closer to the 10 week mark.

@unknownscot congrats on your pregnancy too, try not to worry too much you’re bound to feel different after you stop them. I’ve still got a few days left of mine but my friend stopped them and said she felt much better after and she is now 2 months away from giving birth. Let us know how the scan goes x

JAR1981 · 13/12/2021 09:49

Thinking of you @ParisinNovember will you get your repeat beta result today? I have everything crossed for you it’s not ectopic.

@RiverRiot I totally get the need for a scan before telling people. I too have been thinking if my scan is today (all being well) but I’m not telling people until Boxing Day then that’s almost two weeks where I could suddenly not be pregnant anymore. I know I’m ridiculous. Oh how nice it must be to not have suffered infertility and loss and just be excited to be pregnant!

Welcome @unknownscot I think I’ve seen you over on the June board :). My bump went down too - it was bigger at 10-11 weeks than 13-14 so I think it must be the effects of all that synthetic progesterone. I like to think my bump has got slightly bigger in the past couple of days again (15+2 now) but I guess this afternoon’s scan will tell if all is still well in there. By the way ladies if you have a choice never decide to book a scan at the end of the day. I have no chance of concentrating on work today, morning scans are the way forward!

Kitkat247 · 13/12/2021 09:57

@unknownscot I wasn't on progesterone for as long. I was only to take mine until test day. But I'm now 12+6 and in the last week have had a drop in symptoms, including how often I need to pee. The ovia app I have said that this was normal at this point as the placenta takes over. I had a private scan at 11+5 and the baby was ok so I'm trying to keep calm until our NHS one on Wednesday. Hope your scan goes well!

Novavee · 13/12/2021 12:16

@makeithappen2022 great news about your scan! Amazing that you saw the heartbeat. You must be so happy and relieved.
Must confess it gave me more hope for mine tomorrow.

@unknownscot welcome and good luck with your scan today.

@Hufflepuff1 how are you doing? I hope you had a good weekend and are feeling more positive. Hopefully you will have your beta result soon and that will give you some peace of mind.

Donimo · 13/12/2021 13:09

Hi all. I haven't posted on here yet. But have tried to read up on some of your updates. I had a viability scan on Friday at 7 weeks. And found out I am expecting twins. This was a huge shock as we only transfered 1 embryo.

I stupidly said during this scan I am amazed as I wasn't feeling as nauseous and sick as in my previous single pregnancy. Since then I haven't stopped being sick Sad. I have spoken to my GP today and he has prescribed some anti naesea tablets (hoping these work). I also have to test my urine daily to check I'm not dehydrated as they might admit me to replace fluids (just what I don't want over Christmas). Has anyone got any advice for this at all?

I am also worried I am not going to be absorbing my progynova. I had to take 2 doses this morning after advice from the clinic.

@Frenchie86 I had booked my booster for the weekend but cancelled it. I will definitely get it once I am in my second trimester or after speaking to my midwife. But I cancelled it as a possible side effect of the covid vaccine is a temperature and know having a temperature can be risky for baby development in first trimester. But catching covid would be worse! So wanting to have my midwife opinion first. Also I couldn't take feeling any worse than I do at the moment.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Hufflepuff1 · 13/12/2021 13:12

@Novavee I'm feeling okish thank you! I stayed away from Google / threads as much as I can. I haven't had my second beta results yet, that's the downside with going to the gp rather than private - it takes longer. Still no symptoms really although this doesn't concern me a lot because I've never had symptoms in any cycles. How are you doing? X

Holskey · 13/12/2021 13:14

Welcome and congratulations @unknownscot! I was never on drugs (natural FET) so I can't comment on them, but as you move into the second trimester, a lot of symptoms do subside, as @Kitkat247 says. That's why it's the best trimester! Good luck with your scan 🙂

Glad your scan went well @makeithappen2022 ❤ So lovely you get another before Christmas.

Good luck with your scans @Novavee and @JAR1981. Update us 🥰

@Frenchie86 I'm not anti-vax in the slightest but I must admit I purposefully booked my booster for after Christmas when I'll be in the second trimester. Having to have a different type this time than the Astra Zeneca jabs I had earlier in the year, I thought it better to wait in case there were any side effects. Probably nonsense but 🤷‍♀️

Frenchie86 · 13/12/2021 13:34

Hi @Donimo twins, wow, congrats! I had heard the blastocyst could split but that's so rare. That's very exciting, I do hope you nausea eases up soon. Thanks for the advice, totally understand not wanting to feel worse with the vaccine.

@Holskey thanks for the advice too, I think I'll be ok as I'll only be a couple days short of 12 weeks, and worried about not getting it before Xmas where I'll be travelling to France and mixing with family etc, it does sometimes feel tricky to know what's best in terms of timings x

Kitkat247 · 13/12/2021 13:42

@Frenchie86 I'm getting my booster later today. I'm a little bit nervous although I honestly couldn't give a reason why. I believe 100% in vaccination and have never doubted getting a vaccine before. I initially was going to wait till after my scan but then decided that if I had it just before then I could put my mind at rest just a few days later by seeing that the baby is ok.
I work in healthcare as well, so for me catching covid is a genuine concern. Whereas I was less anxious when I was off sick because I couldn't go anywhere so it didn't seem as urgent.

Frenchie86 · 13/12/2021 13:52

@Kitkat247 I know what you mean, couldn't tell you why either as totally pro vaccine, it's just a trickier decision to make when you're thinking about bubba too. But like I said, on the other thread, plenty of women got the jab before they even realised they were pregnant and all was fine, so just need to get it out of my head. I will have a scan the following day so hopefully that will put my mind at rest too. I totally understand your concerns as well since you work on healthcare.

Holskey · 13/12/2021 15:51

@Donimo I cross-posted with you earlier. Congratulations on your twins! Sorry to hear you're feeling unwell. I'm on prochlorperazine which has helped me. I'm still nauseous 24/7 (10+6 now) but it has enabled me to eat and drink. Before that, I was really struggling and only going for a wee once or twice a day. If whatever you're on doesn't help in a few days, go back and ask to try a different type. I believe most people find one that helps at least a little, but not always straight away. Other than that, you just have to think through every drink imaginable (flat coke, ice cold water with a straw, apple juice etc) until you find one you think you might tolerate. I feel for you, it's so tough! I'm not sure I could do it again.

RiverRiot · 13/12/2021 19:47

@JAR1981 I completely get that! We’ll be telling the first people on Sunday so have booked a private scan for Saturday! 🙈 Hope your scan goes well and the wait hasn’t driven you too bonkers today.
It must be nice to be starting to get a bump too, although I can imagine it’s still surreal after everything!

@Frenchie86 I’m hopefully going to be taking part in a Covid trial, the midwife I spoke to who’s working on it stressed how safe it is at any stage of pregnancy so I’m sure you’ll be absolutely fine.
Also, I imagine most pregnant women will be having the Pfizer, which is supposedly the one with the least side effects so that’s good.

Welcome to all the new ladies!

@Donimo Wowsers twins, congratulations! My DP is a twin so he was secretly hoping we’d get a surprise but we’ve got just the one bun in the oven. As others have said it’s so rare though so can totally imagine it was quite a shock!

JAR1981 · 13/12/2021 22:02

Welcome to the newbies. So nice to have a growing bunch of us.

@Donimo congratulations on the twins!

Scan went well here today, I can’t believe how much more we could see today at 15 weeks vs our 12 week scan. Little one is measuring 10cm now CRL and they also measured the head and little thighs :).

@makeithappen2022 congrats on your scan too and @Novavee hope yours went well.

My vaccine is booked for Thursday. With the recent ramp up to get everyone boosted it can’t come soon enough although I’m still a bit nervous about getting a temperature afterwards. I know it will be far worse to actually get COVID though so doing what I can to try keep the little one safe.

Frenchie86 · 13/12/2021 22:32

Thanks for all the Covid advice ladies, sometimes you just need to hear other people say it! Like you said I’m far more worried about getting Covid while pregnant. I had Pfizer for my first two rounds and was fine so hopefully the third one will be the same, and I’ll only be 3 days away from 12 weeks so hopefully it doesn’t make much of a difference at this stage x

Donimo · 14/12/2021 08:29

Thank you for all your welcomes. Congratulations on all your scans it looks like everyone is progressing well.

Yes the blastocyst spliting was a huge shock. When the nurse said she could see 2 healthy heartbeats. I actually told her she was wrong as we only transfered 1.

@Holskey thank you for the sickness advice. Managed to pick up my prescription yesterday evening. And actually managed to cook and eat half of my dinner. Previously my husband had to cook as couldn't even stand the smell of cooking and then I would only be able to eat a couple of mouthfuls.

unknownscot · 14/12/2021 09:46

Just wanted to let you know that my scan went perfectly. Baby measuring exact dates so 12+6

❤️

Pregxiety241 · 14/12/2021 11:24

Hi ladies. First time posting on here but I’m driving myself crazy and would love some people to talk to.

I had 2 day 5 embryos transferred on 20 November so I am 6+1 today. I was getting strong lines on FRER from 7dpt and at 10dpt my hcg was 241. I last tested a week ago at 16dpt and got a dye stealer. This was my last test so I stopped after that.

My clinic don’t do repeat hcg tests so no idea if it has been doubling. My first can is on 22 December at just over 7 weeks.

Since last week all I can think is that this isn’t going to work out and it’s inevitable I will get bad news on the 22nd. My only symptom has been sore boobs and they have been much less painful over the past week. They are sometime worse in the night when I wake up but really not that bad. I am desperate to feel nauseas just so I have some reassurance and feel quite depressed each day that I wake up feeling fine (crazy I know). I have a session with a therapist on Thursday to talk to someone in real life but even that seems forever away.

This was our 4th transfer. The first and second both worked but resulted in chemical pregnancies in week 5. I think my brain is just used to this ending so that plus the lack of symptoms mean I cannot see how this time will be any different even though my hcg result has never been as high as this time and I never had dye stealers before.

Any tales of no symptoms and a strong instinct it won’t work being wrong would be appreciated.

Etonmess20 · 14/12/2021 11:36

@Pregxiety241 welcome & congratulations on your BFP. So so sorry to hear you're feeling anxious about bad news though. I think it's quite common from a lot of the ladies on here that we're always expecting something bad to happen at our next appointment or scan, don't know whether it's some kind of horrible IVF hangover!

I am 18+4 today & have never had any sickness (or even nausea really) so I would try not to let that worry you as some people just don't get it. I remember feeling the exact same worry & everyone saying I was lucky for not getting sickness but I must say I didn't feel lucky with the extra worry it gave!
Hopefully the next week goes quickly for you & your scan will provide some reassurance that everything is progressing as it should be

JAR1981 · 14/12/2021 11:48

@unknownscot that’s fantastic news!

@Pregxiety241 welcome and congratulations. Try as much as you can to enjoy it. I did the mindfulivf app meditations every day through the first trimester and found they really helped calm me down when my anxiety got too much. Reminding myself that this is a different pregnancy (to previous losses) and that worrying wouldn’t control the outcome helped too. Just like @Etonmess20 I had no sickness whatsoever and only the mildest bit of nausea brought on by indigestion during weeks 6-8. It can be perfectly normal to have no/few symptoms and a healthy pregnancy although I totally understand the desperation to feel nauseous for some reassurance!

TheSnufflet · 14/12/2021 12:31

@paintfairy @strawberrysummer19 and @Novavee how did your scans go today? I have everything crossed for you all x

strawberrysummer19 · 14/12/2021 12:43

Hi @TheSnufflet yes all good at the scan
Saw baby and heartbeat and although measuring 7+1 1.4mm my nurse was adamant this is ok and said it was all curled up so that was the reason why

I still have a fair few cysts which she said was very common with ivf so again trying not to worry about that that either!

I do have a 9wk private scan booked purely because my fiancé just couldn't get out of
Work today but I'm glad we have that one to see if it's still curled up!!

But all signed off from ivf clinic which feels strange ! And progesterone stocked up until 13wks

Xx

Novavee · 14/12/2021 13:22

Thank you @TheSnufflet @Holskey @JAR1981

All went well with the scan. We saw the tiny blob of a baby and the heartbeat. It is measuring one day ahead which I will take as good news.

I was told I can now contact my gp but I was still offered a 9w scan for reassurance if we want. Will have to think about it.

I was told to stay on cyclogest until the NT scan and then slowly reduce it during 5 days before stopping completely, so i will have to stock up again in a few weeks, I think.

Great news about your scan @strawberrysummer19

Welcome and congratulations @Pregxiety241

@Hufflepuff1 glad you're feeling a bit better. Hopefully the gp won't keep you waiting much longer.

paintfairy · 14/12/2021 13:25

@TheSnufflet good memory you have! I had been trying to forget about it. I was really anxious! But yes i had mine earlier. Everything is fine! Measuring 8+3 (I'm 8+1) but the lady did say it's so easy to not be accurate when it's so small. We saw the heartbeat and it looked like a little frog! 🤣
@strawberrysummer19 mine was folded up too. She had a few goes. And also was trying to get a better general picture but gave up in the end. 🤣 My ovaries still have a lot going on! More than you think, I was surprised. So I now know why I felt so crap before.
