Any ivf pregnancies ?

I'm only 6+2 and super paranoid about absolutely everything. Had my fet on the 28/09, it was our second fet after the first one failed, I had bleeding before I even got to the otd. My scan is this Thursday and it's fair to say I'm bricking it.

Would be nice to chat with some ladies who've done ivf, I have been keeping an eye on the June 2022 thread but sometimes I find I can't relate.

I did actually book my NCT class for next year last night, as they book up very soon in my area, but not before scrutinise the refund provisions in case the pregnancy doesn’t continue.

I’ve also booked in my Harmony test & nuchal scan for the week before Christmas. My embryo was tested so Harmony is overkill, but we’re keen to find out the sex so we can share with our folks on Christmas Day.

becarefuloutthere · 30/11/2021 15:03

@Tinyhappypeople @paintfairy wow wee I wasn't expecting that! Cute though 🥰
@Porridgeislife aw what a lovely surprise for everyone on Christmas Day 💝

Holskey · 30/11/2021 15:16

@Porridgeislife what does the harmony test tell you beyond what the NHS screening tells you (apart from gender)? I already have a 17-month-old from the same batch of embryos and I didn't do any additional testing, but I'm considering it this time.

Porridgeislife · 30/11/2021 15:27

@Holskey It checks 6 chromosomes for correctness, ie trying to screen for Edwards, Downs, Patau and the other big chromosomal disorders. It’s more precise than the nuchal translucency scan and a less invasive precursor to an amniocentesis.

My consultant said that PGT-A screened for more chromosomes than Harmony so the only benefit to me is finding out sex early, but we’re seeing a fetal medicine specialist who thought it was still sensible to do given my age (39).

Holskey · 30/11/2021 18:04

Thanks @Porridgeislife 🙂

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 30/11/2021 18:24

I can't help with PGT- A screening but just to mention in case anyone isn't aware, any Nipt test is only pretty accurate (about 98 -99 %) for Edwards, Patau's and Down's. For other chromosomal disorders it can be much less accurate, so bear that in mind. Obviously only Amnio or CVS is definitive though.

Anyone else feel like their symptoms disappear? It worries me. I'm 6+1 and my boobs have hurt up until now. But don't really any more? I'm trying not to read into every little thing but it's so hard!

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 30/11/2021 22:50

Yep, my boobs stopped hurting at about 6 weeks (despite still being on the progesterone then). "Luckily" the nausea started about week 7ish, so I had that to focus on for a few weeks (although I was fortunate in that mine was relatively mild and only lasted about a month). Then I had no symptoms till about 18 weeks when I gradually started to feel him move. Now at 25 weeks the movements are slightly more regular/stronger (but I still panic when I haven't felt him for a while!) but I have the fun of needing to pee nearly every hour too.

Trouble is every woman seems to have different symptoms at different times (apparently even each pregnancy a woman has can feel different, although this is my first so I wouldn't know.). I kept googling when I haven't felt any symptoms (ie. now in my case when he hasn't moved for a good few hours) and the consensus seems to be that there is no consensus! Grin

Hi everyone, can I please join? We’ve just conceived with IVF and it feels surreal. I can’t quite believe this thing that happens to everyone else is happening to us!! We have one child who is 8 years old but struggled ever since having her. I’d never seen a hint of a positive line again until the IVF. In the time we’ve tried to conceive friends have had 1, 2 and even 3 more kids...it’s so surreal to think it’s happening to us now!

Holskey · 01/12/2021 08:07

Congratulations @ParisinNovember! How far along are you?

@paintfairy I've found boob symptoms come and go too.

@IamnotwhouthinkIam this is my second ivf pregnancy, the first being 23 months ago and I remember the "when did I last feel him move?" panic very well. The worry never ends. The thing I loved at about 25 weeks is that babies stand a good chance of survival if born and those chances increase week on week 😊 Apart from birth, it's my favourite milestone.

ParisinNovember · 01/12/2021 09:11

Thank you @Holskey, I did my HCG test on Monday so I’m 4 weeks + 2 days...still very early days...but still haven’t had a positive pregnancy test in 9 years!!

strawberrysummer19 · 01/12/2021 09:58

@paintfairy my boobs stopped hurting last week they just feel full, I've had very little symptoms but nothing obvious
I've read a lot on here that that can be quite common - roll on Friday til my early scan! X

paintfairy · 01/12/2021 10:29

@IamnotwhouthinkIam thanks. That's useful! To be honest I feel sick (but not like I'll be sick) so that's something. I'm hating every minute of feeling like that though, I can't deal with it. My boobs hurt more again today so maybe they do just come and go.
@ParisinNovember welcome!

JAR1981 · 01/12/2021 10:56

Welcome @ParisinNovember and congratulations!

@Porridgeislife yay for booking your NCT classes. I need to do mine too as will be gutted if they book up. Like you I was scrutinising their refund policy, although I’m sure if we lose this baby I couldn’t care less about the £210. Maybe I’ll be brave and do it tonight!

BAIL08 · 01/12/2021 11:31

Hi all - I’ve just found out I’m pregnant (yesterday) when I tested on my OTD. Today I am technically 4 weeks and 5 days. Bit of background, I’ve had two miscarriages in a row this year and then we moved onto IVF. This was my first round and I am very lucky to have gotten a BFP on our first go.

However, I’m obviously a bit of a mess after my last two miscarriages, and reading into everything. The good thing is I’m on progesterone support and taking Inhixia for any potentially blood clotting, which I am hoping will do something to help. My worries come from the fact that I took a clearblue pregnancy test yesterday which came back 2-3 weeks (4 weeks 4 days), then this morning at 6:00am I took the last clearblue weeks indicator test (to get rid of it really) which still said 2-3 weeks and when I opened it the lines looked lighter inside then the day before. I know I must sound a bit over the top and a bit crazy and you shouldn’t open these tests but after everything that has happened this year I can’t help but be.

Not sure why I’m really posting, perhaps just for some reassurance or something. I know clearblue weeks indicator is not always reliable but it’s pretty much been spot on for my last two miscarriages. I’ve also got no symptoms other than what I know is the progesterone pessaries.

Sorry for the rant!

ParisinNovember · 01/12/2021 11:40

@BAIL08 Congratulations on your pregnancy!
Does your clinic do an HCG blood test and early pregnancy scan? I think the HCG blood test gives much more accuracy than the urine tests x

BAIL08 · 01/12/2021 12:48

@ParisinNovember my clinic has agreed to take a blood test on Friday, they don’t do them generally. Scan in two weeks. It’s just because of my last two miscarriages that I can’t imagine ever get past the first trimester.

Holskey · 01/12/2021 15:13

Congratulations @BAIL08! I'm sorry your feeling so anxious. Please don't take apart digital tests to look at the lines. Nothing good will come of that. I hope your blood test brings you some reassurance x

@ParisinNovember that was like me on my first IVF baby 2 years ago. Hadn't been able to make a bfp ever in 10 years across 2 partners and no known reason. It was just such a huge step forward 😊

Holskey · 01/12/2021 15:29

@paintfairy I feel your pain on the sickness. If it's really bad, or you're struggling to eat and drink, call your gp. I found meds help and they're safe. I'm still nauseous all day but it's not as bad as it was. I was struggling with life before and really just wanted to stay in bed!

paintfairy · 01/12/2021 16:44

@Holskey its a combination of that and just feeling ill? Like when I'm trying to do things I feel I've got no energy and I feel all funny, a bit like I'm going to faint? Only not that bad and I know I won't. I've actually just cried driving home at how ill I feel. 🤦‍♀️😭

HopeSpringsEternal123 · 01/12/2021 18:39

@ParisinNovember @BAIL08 congrats!!

Those digital tests can be such a minefield and the range of what HCG level is ‘normal’ is so massive so I would steer clear once you’ve done a couple. For example I looked up what a normal HCG level is at 5 weeks and it said it was any where between 18 and 7,340 so I struggle to believe that the weeks can be that accurate (I did 6 tests last week and have now banned myself as was getting obsessed!) I got a blood test at my clinic yesterday and it’s come back normal so that is giving me some reassurance before my scan next week xx

Holskey · 01/12/2021 20:38

@paintfairy you might have low blood pressure. It drops in pregnancy and can make you feel faint. Could also be low iron - another delightful side effect of pregnancy. Worth seeing a gp to get checked out.

ParisinNovember · 01/12/2021 21:24

@Holskey your situation sounds very similar, we are ‘unexplained’ too...it is a huge step forward to simply be pregnant.
Is anyone absolutely shattered at the moment, I’m only 4 weeks + 2 days and I’m exhausted! I’m going to sleep at 8.30pm most nights

Hufflepuff1 · 02/12/2021 17:31

Thank you @makeithappen2022 for the tag. I didn't even realise until I checked my emails.
Congrats everyone on making it this far, sorry to those who have had bad news.
I am 4+4 today following my second FET and third cycle overall. Last FET I had a miscarriage two days before the 7 week scan so I have a LOT of anxiety this time around. I have been checking line progression and over analysing. I have tried my very best not to but I just can't help it. I'm mad but also anxious and scared! No doubt everyone here knows how I'm feeling.

Symptom wise I had lots of cramps during the tww, heavy boobs, some food aversion and at times nausea but they come and go. Today I have no symptoms and increased cm so of course I'm thinking the worst. I did have a hcg blood test done privately today for some reassurance. Can't wait to get the results. Scan booked in for 22nd - seems like a lifetime away. Does anyone know what the right level should be for hcg? This is my first blood test and the clinic I went to were a waste of time in that they said they don't give any information other than the figure and confirmation that you are pregnant.

Hufflepuff1 · 02/12/2021 17:39

Also just to add on my previous message my resting heart rate has also decreased over the last few days so I am obviously thinking I will miscarry.
