I'm only 6+2 and super paranoid about absolutely everything. Had my fet on the 28/09, it was our second fet after the first one failed, I had bleeding before I even got to the otd. My scan is this Thursday and it's fair to say I'm bricking it.

Would be nice to chat with some ladies who've done ivf, I have been keeping an eye on the June 2022 thread but sometimes I find I can't relate.

@LemonyT wow that looks lovely, I can see what you mean by jelly baby lol. How far gone are you? I'm 9weeks+2 just waiting on 12th week scan hopefully before end of Dec so DH can come with me as he's off pretty much all of December.

Etonmess20 · 29/11/2021 07:43

@RiverRiot congratulations on 12 weeks, what a milestone!! I stopped the progesterone pessaries at 8 weeks but I did just stop dead (Guys told me to) & everything was fine.
Looking forward to seeing you scan pic ☺️ ps - the scanxiety never leaves 😂 it hasn't at 16+3 anyway!

Porridgeislife · 29/11/2021 08:34

Does anyone else feel quite fraudulent talking or thinking about their pregnancy?

Even though I’m 8 weeks along and my consultant assured me that the odds are on my side now that we have a heartbeat, I really feel like I’m playing dress ups rather than actually being pregnant. Even seeing the heartbeat at my clinic, I couldn’t really grasp that it meant I was pregnant - I’m so used to peering at disappointing follicles on that screen that it just didn’t really compute.

I don’t know if this is an IVF hangover (we did a lot of rounds) or whether most people feel like this Confused

strawberrysummer19 · 29/11/2021 09:06

@Porridgeislife I feel like this! But I'll still only 5+6 and don't feel I have many symptoms !
I guess I'm hoping for the scan or more symptoms to give me some reassurance but I can totally relate to this feeling

Even when I'm asked 'how you feeling' as we've told our close family and work know we did ivf it just doesn't feel real!

It felt the same withy 1st but she's now 10yrs old so a long time ago!! X

Frenchie86 · 29/11/2021 09:27

@RiverRiot so magical! Do let us know how it goes. Same as you I'm tempted to carry on progesterone a little longer just in case, they actually gave me 2 extra weeks' worth of boxes by accident so not sure whether to go cold turkey and keep them for a potential next pregnancy or just finish them.

@Porridgeislife omg totally, it's almost like I'm in denial sometimes. My family knows and they keep asking me how it's going etc but it almost makes me feel uncomfortable as I don't want to believe it until we're past the 3 months at least. The first 3 months are so weird as apart from symptoms you wouldn't know you're pregnant.

Welcome to all the new ladies on here and congrats on your pregnancies!

Etonmess20 · 29/11/2021 09:43

@Porridgeislife 16+3 here & still feel like I may have imagined it all 😂
I told the midwife the other day when she was about to put the Doppler on me & she kind of looked at me a bit weird & laughed like I was joking but I wasn't.....I feel like it must be an IVF hangover

HopeSpringsEternal123 · 29/11/2021 09:48

I feel the same! Especially as I barely have any symptoms which is making me paranoid. We told a couple of very close friends and family as we have been open about IVF and now when they talk about me being pregnant I find it weird, almost like an imposter where I’ve made it up or something. I really just can’t wait for a scan to get some kind of reassurance.

strawberrysummer19 · 29/11/2021 10:02

@HopeSpringsEternal123 me too, it's reassuring that's a few of us with little symptoms ! How far gone are you and what symptoms are you getting?x

becarefuloutthere · 29/11/2021 10:15

@Etonmess20 @RiverRiot so nice to see you both on a pregnancy thread! So glad it worked out for you 😊 Guys success rate must be sky high! I'm 28 weeks tomorrow and currently waiting on my GTT bloods at mo.

Etonmess20 · 29/11/2021 10:21

@becarefuloutthere I was literally just thinking of you this morning & thinking how far along you must be!!! Wow 28 weeks! How have you been?

becarefuloutthere · 29/11/2021 10:43

@Etonmess20 ah how sweet! I often think about the guys thread and then saw you here and thought what a nice surprise! Yeah been good on the whole thanks. Suffering with pgp which isn't too fun but manageable. We're having a girl! Are you finding out?

Etonmess20 · 29/11/2021 10:46

@becarefuloutthere that is not ideal, got all these joys to come I'm sure!
Ah that's lovely, congratulations! We're having a surprise, IVF took the surprise out of the whole conception thing so be nice to regain some surprise! I'm convinced I'm having a boy based on absolutely nothing though 😂
Have you moved yet?

paintfairy · 29/11/2021 11:28

@strawberrysummer19 @Porridgeislife @Etonmess20 @HopeSpringsEternal123
I'm so glad you guys have said this! I'm feeling low today about it. Many of my symptoms have gone (I think a lot was the bloating and ivf related things I felt before). I still have sore boobs, feel hungry, and constipated on and off but that's it really. Oh and tiredness at times. But I kind of don't feel pregnant any more now I'm not seeing lines? I feel like a fraud and that it's not real. I've only told 1 friend and have no intention of telling anyone else before my early scan. Possibly not even before the 12 week scan. Because it just doesn't seem real? I slept terribly last night also, so that isn't helping my mood.

strawberrysummer19 · 29/11/2021 11:43

@paintfairy hiya, I feel low too, did you see my update on my updated pregnancy test - it said 2-3 wks which I know I know I've had plenty of reassurance on here and I know they are unreliable - but I can't shift this feeling of feeling worried and god have I tried!!

So I spoke to the clinic to see if I could maybe have another beta and my nurse has just called and said they can offer me a scan this Friday - I'll only be 6+3 and she said they they will see much more at 8 wks but she said I can come
In for some reassurance to make sure all is ok, so I've gone with that. I know it's still early but it will make me feel better than just sitting around awaiting x

strawberrysummer19 · 29/11/2021 11:52

And still stick with my scan on 14th so we've gone with that x I know it's silly and I've said I won't stress but all my symptoms seemed to have vanished! X

becarefuloutthere · 29/11/2021 12:22

@Etonmess20 hopefully you might dodge it! Completely understand going for a surprise, I needed to know to help me feel like it was real! Yeah we moved end of sept and have been rinsing the Amex buying shizz 😂 got some nursery furniture now too which is nice. Still need to decorate her room but the rest of the house is taking precedence 😅
What was your embryo grade? You can google the stats to see where the likelihood lies, mine was like 72% for a boy but it was girl!
@paintfairy @strawberrysummer19 very natural to worry after all the struggles to get to where we've got! Hopefully the early scans help you both. It helped me seeing the heartbeat but I was 7+5 or something and the difference a week makes it huge!

LemonyT · 29/11/2021 12:41

@RiverRiot good luck for your 12 week scan!!! That’s the one I look forward to the most Smile please do upload a pic if you feel comfortable doing so.
Yeah for Xmas presents this year I got a bunch of personalised stuff .ie cuff links engraved ‘grandad’, cookie jar saying ‘Nanny’. It’s an easy Xmas gift even if it’s a bit cheesy! Grin
Tell me about it- I saw a heavily pregnant woman in the park recently, among all the burly weightlifters doing press ups and chin lifts, putting me to shame. I feel like she’s going to squeeze her muscly thighs twice and the baby will pop out in 2 secs. Whereas I’m scared I’m not going to have any core strength at all to push!

@Monday55 I’m 9w+3d. So I think we might be having birthday twins! I’m due 1 July, you?

@Porridgeislife I understand . I have had pretty mild symptoms and until seeing something that looked a bit like a baby on screen, I wasn’t convinced. In fact after the scan yesterday my husband asked why I was being so oddly quiet. I think I was in shock!

paintfairy · 29/11/2021 13:25

@strawberrysummer19 I don't think mine would do that. And it's probably pointless because I'll only be reassured for that one day. I'll be back to worrying the next day anyway.
@becarefuloutthere I'll be 8+1 for mine. I'm hoping it's worth the wait!

strawberrysummer19 · 29/11/2021 13:38

@paintfairy I know what you mean, I'll be exactly the same !! But I'll be taking that one day reassurance for sure.

We are away on Sunday-Tuesday for a family wedding so for me that reassurance would help. Especially as most know we are doing ivf

As I can still have my 8wk one I thought I may aswell!!

Xx

tulipsandsnow · 29/11/2021 13:38

Hi all, I'm afraid its a chemical for me. Strong line yesterday FMU 7dpt and extremely light line today FMU 8dpt. Test from same FRER box pack as yesterday.

Even though I knew it was only about a 10-15% chance for a euploid to result in a chemical, I also somehow knew it was going to happen on some level- had no specific reason other than I just felt from the FET itself it wasn't going to work. I got my hopes up for a few days. Zero regrets early testing as if I hadn't, I'd never have known implanted and its useful information clinically. But I can't put words to the pain- feel like want to actually die.

Holskey · 29/11/2021 13:40

@strawberrysummer19 my first scan for my now 17-month-old was 6+5 and there was a heartbeat and that was enough for the clinic to discharge me. It wasn't as detailed as an 8 week scan, but nothing reassures like seeing your baby's heart beating on the screen 😍

Am I the only person who very much feels pregnant?! 😂 Honestly, and maybe this isn't the right place to say this, but it's true: pregnancy feels like an illness for me. A tremendous privilege and I wouldn't give it up for anything, but I was ill with one thing or another all the way through to 35 weeks when my first was induced. Terrible morning sickness to 16 weeks, low iron (and the side effects), low blood pressure (and the side effects), pelvic girdle pain/ round ligament pain/ sciatica etc, pregnancy rhinitis, gestational diabetes, obstetric cholestasis.

All totally worth it, don't get me wrong, and I hope it will be worthwhile again. But I'm on meds for my hideous morning sickness and I'm likely to get all the same health issues again, so I definitely feel pregnant 😂

Holskey · 29/11/2021 13:43

Oh @tulipsandsnow I'm so sorry 💔 I don't want to encourage false hope (you should pretty sure) but are you going to test again?

Holskey · 29/11/2021 13:43

Sound*

strawberrysummer19 · 29/11/2021 13:47

@Holskey that's brilliant, I don't even mind if it's too early for HB as my 8 wks scan is still in place and for me and my fiancé - so I hope we can experience this together.
This Friday I will be alone and the nurse did say she will do a 'very quick look' scan just to check the progression for a reassurance, as she said they don't normally do them until 7wks so I am more than happy with that. She said it was fully booked but has taken out her lunch hour! (Twice she has done that for me when I was stimming - she scanned me the next day as didn't want me to go over the weekend) she's so sweet my clinic is quite small so only one nurse who scans and one time was my actual consultant.

My first, my daughter I had an early 6+4 and we saw a heartbeat it was so special but we paid private as was a natural conception.
But this time I was happy waiting 8wks until last few days of this symptoms disappearing!!

I bet you find it hard to read us all complaining that we don't have any?!

Let's hope very soon we can be experiencing some 🤣🤣🤣xx

strawberrysummer19 · 29/11/2021 13:48

@tulipsandsnow I'm so so sorry xxx
