I'm only 6+2 and super paranoid about absolutely everything. Had my fet on the 28/09, it was our second fet after the first one failed, I had bleeding before I even got to the otd. My scan is this Thursday and it's fair to say I'm bricking it.

Would be nice to chat with some ladies who've done ivf, I have been keeping an eye on the June 2022 thread but sometimes I find I can't relate.

@Holskey I don't think I will, I have no more tests so would mean buying them so really going to try and not test!
This ache I must admit I've had since 2ww
Almost like a bad tummy kind of feeling and gurgly x

strawberrysummer19 · 28/11/2021 12:34

I didn't think of the drinking situation as a problem as I usually drink a fair bit ( my bladder is so weak so I'm always up in the night 2-3 times) and my other tests have always been when I've drank lots
But it's reassuring to hear those clear blue aren't reliable - I just felt so upset earlier
But will try and distract myself x

AMN3000 · 28/11/2021 12:43

@strawberrysummer19 those tests are so unreliable. I have heard horror stories of it being negative at like 5 weeks and causing uncessary panic. You know its positive. Go with what your clinic says and scans and all that.

@holskey thanks for the tag. I genuinely saw it and went "IVF pregnancies" and then aha! I have an ivf pregnancy! Eeh!!

My otd was today which is 14dp5dt which eas bfp but I actually tested on 10dp5dt and got a bfp then. Because 14 days is so long! My paperwork actually days 16 days but they said 14 at the transfer. I have never had a bfp so nervously excited. Waiting for a call tomorrow from the clinic but dont think they do blood tests so might go private for that.

paintfairy · 28/11/2021 12:43

@strawberrysummer19 I'm fine thanks. Struggling with tiredness and I'm always hungry, but otherwise OK. And stop testing! There is zero point. It won't tell you anything and only has the potential to make you anxious. I've just accepted I'll know nothing now until my 8 week scan and so I've switched off from it and I'm pretending it isn't happening. No amount of worrying is going to change whatever the outcome is. And sitting here panicking for the next 2 weeks doesn't sound enjoyable at all.

strawberrysummer19 · 28/11/2021 12:47

@AMN3000 oh gosh, I wish I never did it

@paintfairy I'm so hungry too! Enjoying eating lots of food! Ah I know you're right. @Holskey too. It's just so silly and I'm going to just try and forget now. I'm self isolating and my daughter has Covid so I think I'm just going a little bit mad !!

We are putting the tree up today so going to put some Xmas music on, I've just made a cup of tea (decaf) and watching some Christmas tv whilst I wait for my little one to finish talking to her friends and fiancé who's doing some
Work and try to enjoy my afternoon

Thank you ladies you have reassured me xx

No more testing for me xx

AMN3000 · 28/11/2021 13:44

@strawberrysummer19 totally understandable. Its so hard not knowing whats going on in there and just really hoping for the best. But just those particular tests are unreliable and you dont need the extra stress. Christmas tree and tv sounds nice. I hope you have a relaxing sunday. I hope your daughter is okay as well!

LemonyT · 28/11/2021 16:04

Hi guys just thought I’d pop back in to say I had my private scan today at 9w+2 and all went well 🥲 baby is more gummy bear than shrimp now. Happy to share a pic if anyones interested and if it wont trigger anyone. Hope you’re all well and I agree - don’t test after the bfp/ beta.

strawberrysummer19 · 28/11/2021 17:01

@LemonyT congrats and yes I would
Love to see a pic I think it's lovely to see people progressions
My tummy ache has eased so that's good so fingers crossed all is good but like the others have advised I'm going to really try and not stress.
The true is up, little one is well and recovering from Covid and I'm feeling festive, roast is on, sending positive vibes to everyone going through this process xx

paintfairy · 28/11/2021 17:09

@LemonyT 🤣 baby gummi bear. Yes I'm happy to see.

This is interesting. I didn't actually have any add ons.... IVF clinics selling useless 'add-on' treatments to face fines www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10251011/IVF-clinics-selling-ineffective-add-treatments-desperate-parents-face-fines.html?ito=native_share_article-masthead

Holskey · 28/11/2021 17:42

Oh how lovely @LemonyT. Glad to hear you're doing well and I'd love to see you scan pic! 😍 How are you feeling? Are you less nervous now? I mean, you'll never relax completely but you were quite anxious at one point?

Holskey · 28/11/2021 17:46

@paintfairy I had embryo glue and the scratch for my first IVF 2 years ago and I was disappointed they no longer offered them! But here I am anyway with no add ons 😊

@strawberrysummer19 glad you're feeling better 🙂

HopeSpringsEternal123 · 28/11/2021 18:20

I have also seen on other threads that the tests are inconsistent. So hard because it feels like it helps you to track your progression but clearly it doesn’t!

@makeithappen2022 congrats!! I waited for my OTD too - I was dreading it because I had two BFNs in my two previous cycles. Great that you’ve got a scan at 6 weeks, not too long to wait.

LemonyT · 28/11/2021 18:25

This is baby. I know I’m ahead of a lot of you gals- many of you having only recently gotten your BFPs (Congratulations!!) So just to say good luck for all your scans and I know how nerve wracking the wait can be.

@Holskey I held my breath just as they started the scan but once I saw the baby wiggling around was so happy and relieved. Will be a bit more relaxed in the run up to Xmas now. Sonographer said everything looked healthy and my chances of miscarriage now significantly lower I’m in my 9th week. Even bought my parents and in-laws their baby announcement presents this evening 😁

paintfairy · 28/11/2021 18:28

@LemonyT awww, they are brilliant photos! Really clear. Yes I think until you know there's a heartbeat and see it, I think the thought of a scan is bloody terrifying. I've still got 2 weeks to wait.

tulipsandsnow · 28/11/2021 18:33

Sorry guys I've just been catching up on this thread since I've been tagged!

Not first pregnancy but first IVF pregnancy (I have no children). I have a lot of health issues that made IVF incredibly tricky (including that its very hard to draw blood from me, which as you can imagine doesn't to great with IVF...) but after failed IUI and increasing age had no choice.

My transfer was November 21st, I noticed that a few of the online calculators contradict each other on the 'how far along' calculation. For the 5 day transfer option, they all give Aug 9 due date. Yet one says 3+4, several (at least five of them) say 3+5, and one says 3+6. Anyone know which one is correct? I can't ask my clinic for another few days until reach OTD and in meantime its driving me crazy not knowing exactly how many weeks + days am at!

Porridgeislife · 28/11/2021 18:53

@tulipsandsnow this calculator seems pretty accurate. My embryo measured exactly to the day at my dating scan this week.

www.calculator.net/pregnancy-calculator.html

It was a day 6 embryo transferred by FET so my consultant said you treat it as a Day 5 as the FET resets the age of the embryo.

Holskey · 28/11/2021 19:07

@LemonyT your baby is beautiful! 😍 and how lovely you're buying announcement presents. I'm sure your family will be absolutely thrilled for you 💕

@tulipsandsnow I think I've mentioned I'm a little confused by my dates before (day 5 embryo transferred 6dpo). Ultimately I don't think it matters because they implant at different times. My first pregnancy was a late implanter (I know because I didn't get a bfp until 8dp5dt) and he measured slightly behind on scans. This one measures accurately if I count from ovulation even though it should be one day behind, but I think it implanted quicker, so I've just adopted my scan measurement date and I genuinely believe it's the most accurate for me (it was a very clear scan). I feel like I've rambled here but hopefully you get what I mean 😂 Yours implanted quickly so I would bare that in mind when choosing between options.

LemonyT · 28/11/2021 19:24

Thanks guys 🥰 def feels more real now.
@tulipsandsnow I used this calculator before flo.health/tools/ivf-due-date-calculator and according to my scan it was spot on.

makeithappen2022 · 28/11/2021 20:14

@LemonyT gorgeous clear scans!

@Porridgeislife that calculator is great, is in line with dates I worked out.

What due dates is everyone getting? Ours is Aug 4th xx

makeithappen2022 · 28/11/2021 21:36

@HopeSpringsEternal123 thank you!!! I’m the same, so was expecting a negative even though part of me just felt pregnant. I think it is a protection mechanism too isn’t it. I know not even two weeks to go which is good.

What symptoms do people have, have these got stronger for those further on? I think the pessaries make it confusing

Tinyhappypeople · 28/11/2021 21:38

Mine is August 6th all being well @makeithappen2022 🤞🤞

@tulipsandsnow my transfer was the 18th and I’ve calculated it as 4+1 so 3+5 sounds right for you.

I’m really achy/ crampy tonight. It’s freaking me out as my lower back and tops of my legs ache which is a period symptom for me. I’ve also bloated out loads today Blush. Bloods tomorrow morning so hoping that I will get a reassuring number.

RiverRiot · 28/11/2021 21:41

@Frenchie86 Thank you, it still doesn’t seem real that the 12 week scan is this week! I wonder if the scanxiety ever leaves?
The announcements thing totally makes sense, I really hope you get to do a massive one of epic proportions this time!

@Holskey Funnily enough tests didn’t bother me nearly as much before the loss but I suppose this crazy roller coaster changes all of us in one way or another and in some ways possibly for the better. I certainly have a newfound respect for anyone going through this malarkey.

@LemonyT Oh yay, welcome to the gummy bear club! Such cute pics. Aww that’s nice buying pressies, what did you get? I’ve been thinking of doing Xmas cards with things like “Merry Christmas Grandma” on them. Might be a bit cheesy but sod it.
BTW I had to run all of five mins for the train the other day and nearly puked so naturally I thought of you and your Herculean work-out attempt. 😂😂

So I’m 12+1 today and last day of medication was technically yesterday. I’m so happy to give up the injections (managed to give myself a real bleeder and a fat bruise as a sign off! 🙈) but I think I’ll stay on cyclogest for a couple of days just to ‘ease myself into it’ haha. Did other people just stop cold and was it all OK?

Welcome and congrats to all the new ladies. Quite a posse we’re growing now! 🤗

Porridgeislife · 28/11/2021 21:48

@makeithappen2022 I haven’t had much really in the way of symptoms, especially early on, and zero during the 2WW, but I’ve just passed Week 8 & boobs are suddenly bigger, and the nausea has gotten much worse very suddenly. I’ve also developed a lovely crop of mouth ulcers across the roof of my mouth Hmm

I’m on an absolute shedload of medication, 3x estrogen patches, 6mg progynova, 2 x Lubion and 3 x Cyclogest, so I don’t know if that has any effect on symptoms.

Holskey · 28/11/2021 22:25

@RiverRiot ah 12 weeks! That's the next milestone that I'm looking towards (8+5 now). Please update us with your scan. Wishing you a magical experience! 💕

@makeithappen2022 I had sickness pretty much straight away, which got so bad I'm on meds now (and still nauseous!). It's so different for everyone.

@Tinyhappypeople I had cramps with both this and my last (successful) pregnancy and they did freak me out. If they're not very bad, then it's totally normal and very common.

TheSnufflet · 28/11/2021 22:29

@makeithappen2022 I'm 5+2 and so far symptoms are nausea, incredibly sore boobs, and ovarian pain. I've just started getting some weird food aversions as well, both lettuce and green peppers now taste incredibly bitter to me (which I'm gutted about as I love them normally) and I'm obsessed with Bakewell tarts!
