I'm only 6+2 and super paranoid about absolutely everything. Had my fet on the 28/09, it was our second fet after the first one failed, I had bleeding before I even got to the otd. My scan is this Thursday and it's fair to say I'm bricking it.

Would be nice to chat with some ladies who've done ivf, I have been keeping an eye on the June 2022 thread but sometimes I find I can't relate.

@TheSnufflet very similar to what I have
I sometimes feel like I've come on but it's cm mixed with the progesterone from the pessary

Today I've had waves of sickness and I just don't feel 100 right now 💯 so now thinking here we go...

Porridgeislife · 25/11/2021 16:09

I’m finally brave enough to join this thread properly. We had our viability scan which was fine and measuring exactly to the day, so due early July 2022.

We had very high beta-HCG levels initially so it was reassuring to see only one baby as expected!

@TheSnufflet I’ve had the odd feeling (including yesterday) of feeling like my period is due. No bleeding at all so I just assumed, as I have endometriosis, that it’s stretching and movement of adhesions.

CycleGirl20 · 25/11/2021 16:36

@TheSnufflet I have back ache and other weird aches and pains. I couldn't sleep well last night because of it. Gonna go buy myself another pillow.

I have my betas tomorrow. Hoping all goes well.

My clinic wanted to stop my progesterone today at 4w+3 but I requested an extension

paintfairy · 25/11/2021 17:23

@strawberrysummer19 I thought it would being you had a blood test that was ok. Its just reassuring to see though.
@TheSnufflet I think I'm literally going to have a breakdown in the clinic if they won't give me more. Especially when they suspect progesterone issues with me anyway. 8 weeks seems too early?
@Porridgeislife welcome!

As for pains- its funny because I haven't felt loads. That worries me. But when I do it worries me. 🤦‍♀️🤣 Because of my stomach, some cramps i can't decide if they are that or more AF type cramps. I had some earlier but they don't last long. Right now I've got more of an ache. Sometimes I also get a pinch type pain on my left hand side too. Whether any of it is anything I don't know. Then I dread going to the toilet if I feel wet. But it's only ever pessary and who knows what else. Really hard to tell with that.
What I will say is my nipples have been really hurting on and off. And when I get cold- omg! 😱

strawberrysummer19 · 25/11/2021 18:44

@paintfairy yeah it's just nice to see isn't it, seems so long until our scan!

X

Holskey · 25/11/2021 19:19

Congratulations on your scan @Porridgeislife 🎊. I'm due 5th July, but in my last pregnancy the consultant said that ivf pregnancies are routinely induced at 38weeks (not sure if that's just my area??). So I'm expecting a June baby, all being well 🙂

I also have sore nipples @paintfairy. I'm breastfeeding my 17-month-old too 😖 I can't weigh in on the progesterone issue as I've never had it, but I imagine it's scary changing something that's working.

RosieLeeD · 26/11/2021 05:51

@Frenchie86 @Holskey thanks for your messages and apologies for the radio silence, I've had a rather stressful week! I was getting more brown spotting (this was expected due to the clot) but I experienced quite a lot of cramping on Tuesday night which completely freaked me out. Given Dr S said I could go on Wed for a scan I did. All was fine and the clot had reduced by half again so he thinks the cramping was my body squeezing at least part of it out (sorry it's a bit gross). Still very apprehensive as the initial concern was that if this happens it may cause me to miscarry. He still thinks my position is getting more positive every week he sees me and I have definitely passed a bit more of the clot since then so I'm really hoping my scan next Wednesday will show most of it gone.

I'm glad all is going well for you both. How are you feeling? A wonderful scan picture Holskey. 💕

Welcome to all the new comers and congratulations, sorry I've missed so many messages! Xx

Re progesterone, my IVF clinic provides until 12 weeks but my miscarriage clinic continues to 16 weeks. IVF clinic also increased it for me when I started spotting so I'm currently on 3 pessaries a day and 2 lubion injections! At 12 weeks I will go down to pessaries provided by miscarriage clinic x

CycleGirl20 · 26/11/2021 05:56

I'm having a mini panic this morning. I'm 11dp5dt which would make me 4+3. I took a clear blue digital and it says 1-2 weeks, inspite of my solid line on a frer 2 days ago and line progression on my cheapies. Now I'm worrying my HCG might be low, or worse dropping. I know it probably isn't as I got line progression from the same urine on a cheapie and I feel a little sore and slightly nauseous. My betas are today but might not get them back until tomorrow. 250-something more days of this! I hope!

Porridgeislife · 26/11/2021 07:31

@CycleGirl20 I’d honestly put it out of your mind til you see your betas. The digital tests aren’t always accurate & a bit of a gimmick.

I also had absolutely no symptoms and still don’t at nearly 8w - boobs look the same, no fatigue, a bit of nausea first thing in the morning. I also had zero symptoms when I had a failed FET. Honestly, the repeat betas (insist they do 3, every 48 hrs) will be the best guide.

CycleGirl20 · 26/11/2021 07:59

Thanks @Porridgeislife. I just did my first betas so fingers crossed. I showed the nurse the frer too and she thought it looked good. I'm listening to Xmas music and trying to get into the festive spirit early to try and give me something else to do!

Frenchie86 · 26/11/2021 08:46

@Porridgeislife congrats and welcome!

@TheSnufflet it’s hard not to worry about every little pain/twinge/lack of symptom but like the others said as long as you’re not bleeding etc then should all be fine. I have the occasional pain too, especially period like pains.

@paintfairy I think it was you who asked about the Pessaries but apologies if not, but my clinic also recommended 12 weeks so 8 does seem a little early?

@RosieLeeD sorry it’s been stressful but good news that more of the clot has passed, hopefully you’re nearing the end of it now and every week you pass and every positive scan you have is a pretty big accomplishment.

@CycleGirl20 try not to worry too much, could you do a blood test at your GPS for reassurance?

CycleGirl20 · 26/11/2021 09:02

@Frenchie86 thanks. I've just done a blood test at the clinic that was planned in before.

@paintfairy my clinic planned to have me stop progesterone at 10dpt. I've just asked them for another box which cost €90 for 2 weeks worth. Now I'm wondering if I should keep going to 8 or 12 weeks or not!

Frenchie86 · 26/11/2021 09:21

@CycleGirl20 Ah great, hopefully that’ll reassure you

CycleGirl20 · 26/11/2021 09:24

How do you work out how many weeks you are if you did IVF? Is it from your last period, from collection, from transfer?

strawberrysummer19 · 26/11/2021 09:31

go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=www.calculator.net/pregnancy-calculator.html

I used this calculator - you can put your transfer date and it works it out for you

Good luck with your beta

I had mine last week and was reassured and then tested yesterday ! This wait seems so hard ! X

JAR1981 · 26/11/2021 10:29

Hi ladies, just wanted to pop on and finally say hello. I’ve been following this thread but not brave enough to post until after our 12 week scan. Currently 12+6 after an FET in Spain on 16th September.

The past 12 weeks have gone painfully slowly and didn’t ever think I’d make it, but here we are. To anyone worrying about lack of symptoms, I had very few. Bad indigestion weeks 6-8, needing to pee in the night, falling asleep on the sofa and a bit of coccyx pain around weeks 9-11 which I understand may be due to relaxin hormone. But no nausea or sickness. I had some slight spotting in week 5 but nothing since.

My clinic kept me on progesterone until week 11, however I had a bit left over so managed to taper to week 12. It depends on the transfer you had though, in theory if a natural FET or even a fresh transfer you should be less dependent on the meds although clinics usually provide until at least week 9-10. If a medicated FET you will definitely need it.

I’m now panicking that I’ve been moved by the midwife from Heparin (Clexane) to aspirin at 12 weeks however I have APS antibodies so worried it’s not enough. I don’t think the anxiety ever stops!

TheSnufflet · 26/11/2021 11:25

@CycleGirl20 as others have said, those ClearBlue digitals aren't an exact science. I think betas would stress me out more than the home tests they get you to do!

@Frenchie86 you're completely right, after all that pain yesterday it's completely gone, and today I just feel nauseous and have incredibly sore nipples! It's a rollercoaster every day Shock

@paintfairy my clinic seem a bit reluctant to give out the Cyclogest - I wonder if it's anything to do with the shortage they had earlier this year? I have some emergency back-up Crinone as well but it's way more unpleasant than the bum bullets.

5 weeks today and the smell of my normal herbal tea made me gag when I opened the box (and the smell of cat biscuits is fucking awful at the moment). It's all gotta be a good sign, right?

paintfairy · 26/11/2021 12:04

Thanks for all the progesterone comments. I'm going to try to stay on it until 12 weeks. It just would make me feel happier.

@CycleGirl20 those tests aren't reliable. If you get a beta test then I'm not sure why you are worried?

RiverRiot · 26/11/2021 13:21

@RosieLeeD I’m sorry you’ve had a stressful few days, it’s got to be so nerve wracking. I’m so pleased the scan went well though and things are moving in the right direction. Keeping everything crossed for Weds and hopefully you get to see a big improvement. 🤞🏼

@Frenchie86 Glad your scan went well too! I also meant to say the other day that I’m sorry you had to raise a complaint last time as well. As you said, it’s stressful enough without crappy ‘so-called’ care and a lack of compassion when things go horribly wrong. I’m hoping you start to feel more confident once you pass your milestone but I’m with you in that I’ll probably still be on tenterhooks until baby is here! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

@paintfairy Yep a shrimp. Just like on the nature programmes with their little undulating legs - that was the heartbeat. 🦐❤️

@Holskey Oh a duck how cute! It’s so funny how they look like different things. Your scan is so clear too, that must have been reassuring!

I’m probably a bit weird with this but I find seeing other people’s pregnancy tests much more triggering than scans. Whenever I see them I actually get flashbacks to my miscarriage. I think because as soon as I did my test last time I just knew something was wrong. Even though the test was fine and everyone kept telling me spotting/bleeding is normal etc. it’s like my subconscious was trying to warn me.

And speaking of pregnancy tests I personally think those digital weeks ones are an absolute racket! Not least because of their extortionate cost but because the normal HCG range is SO wide (e.g. 18 - 7,340 at 5 weeks) that they’re basically making money off women’s fears. If we don’t get the result we expect we then go out and spend another £18 or whatever on another one, right? Err no I’d rather spend that on baby clothes when (fingers crossed) the time comes thanks.

Welcome and congrats @JAR1981 (and any other newbies I’ve missed). Glad your 12week scan went well. We are exactly a week apart - I’m 11+6 today and nervously awaiting my scan next week. Will you get your 16wk midwife check in before Christmas?

I also agree with you on the progesterone front. My clinic does it for 8 weeks for fresh and 12 weeks for medicated FET. They told me this was because you also produce your own progesterone in fresh cycles (from all the eggs collected and then the placenta takes over at 7-8 wks) but your body doesn’t make any of its own initially with a medicated FET so that’s why it’s longer. Some women on natural FETs don’t get given any progesterone at all as they have ovulated normally so already have enough. I think it does depend on the clinic though and some are more cautious than others. 🤷🏻‍♀️
But it’s defo good to advocate for yourself if you’re not comfortable. I was convinced I wasn’t absorbing enough last time (and my levels proved to be low when they eventually gave me a beta HCG) so I demanded to be put on lubion injections and cyclogest this time.

Also I’m sorry my posts are always so long! 🤦🏻‍♀️ I don’t get to come on everyday and then there’s so much to catch up on. 😳😂

Frenchie86 · 26/11/2021 15:48

Thanks @RiverRiot so exciting you have your 12 week scan next week.

Congrats and welcome @JAR1981 - I think I’m like everyone else on here in that time seems to be dragging on, I want to get to 12 weeks so badly, 3 more weeks to go though to be fair I’ve managed to make it this far.

I saw a pregnancy announcement on Instagram today and for me that’s triggering as I didn’t get to do that last pregnancy, birth announcements don’t get to me as much weirdly. Just hope it can be me soon, I can’t wait to start showing.

Holskey · 26/11/2021 16:28

@RosieLeeD I'm sorry you've had a stressful time. It's great the blood is going and leaving your baby there, but it must be such a terrifying process. Little one gets safer every day 💕

Congratulations on your scan @JAR1981. I'm so looking forward to getting to 12 weeks, not that it'll be enough when I get there! 😂

@CycleGirl20 Best of luck with your beta. Leave the clearblues alone now! We've discussed these before quite some pages back and they're known to be inaccurate causers of misery and panic. It's lucky you have a blood test for clarification 🤞

@RiverRiot it was pregancy tests that got me once upon a time too. Well everything did really, but tests most of all as I was wholly incapable of making two lines myself and it was all I could wish for.

@Frenchie86 I can't wait to have a bump either! 😍

CycleGirl20 · 26/11/2021 16:38

@Holskey thank you. I actually have 3 clear blues, plus the one I used this morning. Funnily I have them because I bought 1 when I had a natural cycle v early chemical (12dpo) and when I tested it errored. So then I bought another and that errored too! I emailed them to complain and they told me I must have done it wrong (dipped a stick in some pee wrong??) but sent me 4 as a "good will gesture". I think I've worked out that I'm getting up in the night to pee too much and messing up my results. I did a cheapie with a 4 hour pm hold and I have some nice line progression. Still waiting on the betas but panic over for now. I'll go back and see if I can find the earlier comments on these digitals.

@strawberrysummer19 thank you. That's very helpful. I'm 4+2 according to that.

Hello @JAR1981 welcome!

I've been the opposite with pregnancy tests. I'm often looking at those "line eyes" threads feeling like a junior school pupil reviewing a primary schooler's homework. I think it just seems such a long time since I was there I can't connect to that situation anymore

CycleGirl20 · 26/11/2021 17:11

Just got my betas, which are at 220 11dp5dt which I'm happy about. I guess that proves pretty much everyone on this threads' theory about those digitals as well (2-3 weeks starts from 153 apparently!). Phew!

Porridgeislife · 26/11/2021 17:25

@CycleGirl20 Congratulations! That’s a really nice strong number, I bet you’re feeling relieved (or as much as you can be at this point).

CycleGirl20 · 26/11/2021 17:31

I am incredibly relieved and pretty happy! Thank you everyone for being so lovely after my clear blue panic!
