@RosieLeeD I’m sorry you’ve had a stressful few days, it’s got to be so nerve wracking. I’m so pleased the scan went well though and things are moving in the right direction. Keeping everything crossed for Weds and hopefully you get to see a big improvement. 🤞🏼
@Frenchie86 Glad your scan went well too! I also meant to say the other day that I’m sorry you had to raise a complaint last time as well. As you said, it’s stressful enough without crappy ‘so-called’ care and a lack of compassion when things go horribly wrong. I’m hoping you start to feel more confident once you pass your milestone but I’m with you in that I’ll probably still be on tenterhooks until baby is here! 🤦🏻♀️😂
@paintfairy Yep a shrimp. Just like on the nature programmes with their little undulating legs - that was the heartbeat. 🦐❤️
@Holskey Oh a duck how cute! It’s so funny how they look like different things. Your scan is so clear too, that must have been reassuring!
I’m probably a bit weird with this but I find seeing other people’s pregnancy tests much more triggering than scans. Whenever I see them I actually get flashbacks to my miscarriage. I think because as soon as I did my test last time I just knew something was wrong. Even though the test was fine and everyone kept telling me spotting/bleeding is normal etc. it’s like my subconscious was trying to warn me.
And speaking of pregnancy tests I personally think those digital weeks ones are an absolute racket! Not least because of their extortionate cost but because the normal HCG range is SO wide (e.g. 18 - 7,340 at 5 weeks) that they’re basically making money off women’s fears. If we don’t get the result we expect we then go out and spend another £18 or whatever on another one, right? Err no I’d rather spend that on baby clothes when (fingers crossed) the time comes thanks.
Welcome and congrats @JAR1981 (and any other newbies I’ve missed). Glad your 12week scan went well. We are exactly a week apart - I’m 11+6 today and nervously awaiting my scan next week. Will you get your 16wk midwife check in before Christmas?
I also agree with you on the progesterone front. My clinic does it for 8 weeks for fresh and 12 weeks for medicated FET. They told me this was because you also produce your own progesterone in fresh cycles (from all the eggs collected and then the placenta takes over at 7-8 wks) but your body doesn’t make any of its own initially with a medicated FET so that’s why it’s longer. Some women on natural FETs don’t get given any progesterone at all as they have ovulated normally so already have enough. I think it does depend on the clinic though and some are more cautious than others. 🤷🏻♀️
But it’s defo good to advocate for yourself if you’re not comfortable. I was convinced I wasn’t absorbing enough last time (and my levels proved to be low when they eventually gave me a beta HCG) so I demanded to be put on lubion injections and cyclogest this time.
Also I’m sorry my posts are always so long! 🤦🏻♀️ I don’t get to come on everyday and then there’s so much to catch up on. 😳😂
