I'm only 6+2 and super paranoid about absolutely everything. Had my fet on the 28/09, it was our second fet after the first one failed, I had bleeding before I even got to the otd. My scan is this Thursday and it's fair to say I'm bricking it.

Would be nice to chat with some ladies who've done ivf, I have been keeping an eye on the June 2022 thread but sometimes I find I can't relate.

@paintfairy least there's an explanation- I was thinking I have seen people been asked to come back so I guess it's better waiting a week then worrying if they can't see everything? Least we are on countdown together as we have the same scan day don't we?!! I'm nervously waiting on the beta call 😬😬😬😬xx

Holskey · 23/11/2021 08:53

Good luck with your beta call @strawberrysummer19. I'm glad I didn't have that to stress about! But I hope yours is reassuring 😊

@paintfairy it's a horribly long wait, but a good scan at 8 weeks is more reassuring than 6 ot 7 weeks, and it'll be less wait to the 12 week scan, so when you finally get there, hopefully you'll be glad 😊

My long wait for the early scan is over. I'm just about to leave for it 😬🤞🤞🤞

strawberrysummer19 · 23/11/2021 08:59

@Holskey thank you, and good luck for today - how exciting- I'll look forward to your update 😚xx

strawberrysummer19 · 23/11/2021 09:15

So I've had the call and the beta is 2023
Not sure what this means but they said it's strong?
Feel a bit better now
They said I can scan at 7 weeks or keep the 8 weeks as booked
She said 7 would Be fine but would be able to see more at 8 so we went for that
She said I can always change my mind
X

strawberrysummer19 · 23/11/2021 10:07

@paintfairy clinic also confirmed I'm 5 weeks today! X

paintfairy · 23/11/2021 10:37

@strawberrysummer19 yes they said they can see more at 8 weeks so I suppose it makes sense to do that. Its just a longer wait. But more reassuring if you get that far. Good news about the beta!

TheSnufflet · 23/11/2021 14:03

@paintfairy @strawberrysummer19 I'm jealous that you've both got scans booked in/betas taken already - I got told congratulations by my clinic yesterday and told to retest next Monday 😕 maybe this is their way of filtering out early losses so they don't schedule as many people? I have no idea..

strawberrysummer19 · 23/11/2021 14:04

@TheSnufflet oh really? It's strange how clinics work differently isn't it. X

paintfairy · 23/11/2021 14:13

@TheSnufflet I have to retest later this week too. But I think they book you a scan anyway? And just tell you to call if there's any problems.

strawberrysummer19 · 23/11/2021 14:19

@paintfairy what day do you have to test and would you use a digital ? X

TheSnufflet · 23/11/2021 14:26

@paintfairy at least it's not just my clinic then! I asked about getting more Cyclogest and what next steps would be (thinking they would tell me a scan date) but they just said to retest next Monday. Luckily I've still got lots of internet easy@home cheapie strips left. The last 2 days I've started getting super strong lines so it's quite nice to have a morning activity to look forward to Smile

Frenchie86 · 23/11/2021 14:40

Sorry it's been a while since I last posted, work's been a bit manic!

@RosieLeeD I'm so happy your scan went well and that your body seems to be taking care of your hematoma(?) all on its own.

@VenusStarr I'm so so sorry for your devastating news, and how it was all managed. Sending big hugs your way.

Sorry I can't tag everyone but welcome to the new ladies on here x

paintfairy · 23/11/2021 14:59

@strawberrysummer19 it says 3-5 days after, so I guess I'd better do it tomorrow. I've got 1 CB digital left and a frer. It doesn't actually you say you HAVE to, just says you might want to? 🤷‍♀️
@TheSnufflet I've not actually dare recheck since Friday. I hate doing tests! They did tell me to arrange to go and fetch more utrogestan, I was going to go later this week.

strawberrysummer19 · 23/11/2021 15:02

@paintfairy ah I see, yeah get it done and then Maybe not test again - easier said than done
I have none left! I hate testing too. It's hard not to think about anything else I find x

Holskey · 23/11/2021 22:38

@TheSnufflet I think it's horrible that you have to retest. You want them to book your scan with a reassuring confidence, not ask you to make sure! Reminds me of the midwives appointment in my area which is always around 9 weeks so they're not wasting time with early losses (screw the women who don't know about folic acid or those who need help with abusive relationships etc etc). Then they give you a form to fill in for free prescriptions but tell you not to send it off until after the 12 weeks scan. I find it heartless.

Well, @paintfairy, @strawberrysummer19, I had my scan and I have to say I am a huge fan of the 8-week-scan and fully recommend it! So much more detail than the 6+5 scan I had with my first pregnancy. Worth the wait 🥰

And the nurse confirmed I do in fact have a retroverted uterus @LemonyT 🤷‍♀️ How are you?

How are you getting on @RosieLeeD? Not tempted to have another scan tomorrow?

How far along are you @Frenchie86?

strawberrysummer19 · 24/11/2021 09:17

Is this safe for pregnancy ?

I'm sure it is and I took it ttc but now I'm pregnant just want to be sure !

I asked Holland and battery and she said to check with my DR?! Which is easier said than done. Does anyone know? X

Any ivf pregnancies ?
strawberrysummer19 · 24/11/2021 09:21

From reading online it says to be careful it handy got anything else in it but think the fish oil has put me off? X

strawberrysummer19 · 24/11/2021 09:27

What vits does everyone take ? I'm reviewing mine as I'm just coming to the end of our TTC tablets which are £35 a month and just using them up - plus I take vit d, extra vit c and usually omega 3
Tesco do one and there's a pregnacare one which I believe it's just a more expensive version? X

TheSnufflet · 24/11/2021 09:53

@Holskey it is pretty heartless, but I do get their logic. I've been checking this website every day, and quite a huge proportion are lost in the first few weeks. Probably not very good for me mentally, but then I try and reassure myself that none of my other pregnancies were early losses (I had two terminations in my 20s) so hopefully I'll end up on the right side of the stats.
Fab that your 8-week scan went well Smile I have a retroverted uterus as well, so I'm hoping when I do get a scan that it'll be around 8 weeks so they can see something!

@strawberrysummer19 No idea about fish oil I'm afraid.. before egg collection I took so many pills I was rattling:

  • Pregnacare Before Conception
  • Ubiquinol 300mg
  • N-Acetyl-Cysteine 600mg
  • Alpha-Lipoic Acid with Biotin 600mg
  • Vitamin D3 100μg
  • Folic Acid 400μg
  • Optibac Probiotics
  • Baby Aspirin 81mg

After egg collection I cut right back to just Pregnacare, folic acid and vitamin D as none of the other stuff have studies confirming safety/efficacy once pregnant. It's definitely a relief!

strawberrysummer19 · 24/11/2021 09:58

@TheSnufflet thank you i would like to include omega 3 so I'll have a little research
Pregnacare sells one with omega 3 in it so I can always get that x

Frenchie86 · 24/11/2021 10:04

@Holskey I am 8+5, and actually have a scan this afternoon so great to know we'll see a bit more detail than the 7 week one we had before. Just hope all still looks good! With every scan/milestone I'm reassured for a few days and then start panicking again. How are you feeling?

@strawberrysummer19 I use the vitamins recommended by the follow up of It Starts With The Egg, just because I thought I might as well continue with the same source. I use:

Nordic Naturals DHA (which has fish oil)
Natural prenatal vitamin
Solar Vitamin D
Probiotic (can't remember the brand, but our clinic recommended we take a probiotic as soon as we got the transfer)

Hope that helps!

paintfairy · 24/11/2021 11:35

@strawberrysummer19 I was only taking pregnacare conception and ubiquinol. I stopped the ubiquinol. I was taking fish oil now and then before but actually haven't since as I can't work out for sure which fish they came from. You shouldn't take any fish oil from liver (so no cod liver oil), and not all of them are specific on the label. I did the test though!
@Holskey yay! Brilliant news about the scan.

I did my test! No more testing!

Any ivf pregnancies ?
LemonyT · 24/11/2021 11:39

@Holskey great to hear your scan went well :) at 8 weeks that’s great news and has positive implications for future 🥲
I’m ok. At 8 weeks myself I’ve finally started to feel a little bit ill finally myself. No actual sickness but def feel a bit off my food. Taken to snacking all day too.
My fatigue felt better a couple days ago so I made the mistake of doing a workout for the first time in a while- Bad idea!! For a light pregnancy workout that would have been a breeze before, I was was completely floored! I had to stop several times completely out of breath and feeling so sick 🤢 hopefully that’s sure signs I’m actually still pregnant?
Will find out on Sunday at my private scan at just over 9 weeks.

@Frenchie86 good luck for your scan today fingers X

@strawberrysummer19 I’ve heard to be cautious with fish oil- maybe because of mercury levels? I don’t take anything except a pregnancy multivitamin so can’t really help. My midwife has said she will put me on aspirin from week 12 onwards though. I’m a bit worried as pregnancy so far seems ok and I dont want to take any unnecessary risks Confused anyone on aspirin and recommend?

strawberrysummer19 · 24/11/2021 11:47

@paintfairy I ended up buying these because I was out and about today (starting my Xmas shopping!) and wanted to continue omega 3 along with my other vits so figured these would be safe

Yes you have to be careful and I was so confused in Holland and Barrett!

Oh wow how lovely seeing 3plus! I know I don't have to but I really want to test again!!

How are you feeling?

I had the worst nightmare and then couldn't sleep and I feel more thirsty than usual and keep getting a bit breathless which is strange
But other than that don't feel too bad xx

paintfairy · 24/11/2021 11:52

@strawberrysummer19 I've just looked and I've ordered the pregnacare ones. At least they are for that purpose and therefore hopefully safe.
I've got a dry mouth and keep getting a funny taste. I'm finally sleeping better now I'm on top of my constipation issues. In a morning a feel normal but I get hot quick if doing exercise. In the afternoon I start getting trapped wind under my ribs. I also get cold on the day/early evening and I'm hot again after 9pm. 🤣 I did feel a bit queasy yesterday afternoon but I'm not sure if it was just the trapped wind. How about you?
@LemonyT yes, I think you are right about the Mercury.
