Hello,

I just found out I’m pregnant again (very early days, 4w today). I had a mmc back in April which was diagnosed at almost 12 weeks but baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks and then I fell pregnant again but had a natural mc at 5+5.
This time I am taking progesterone pessaries and aspirin. Anyone else pregnant after a loss? I’m so scared about mmc but trying to relax as much as possible.

Just had my 20 weeks scan and all as it should be. I was going to wait till 24 weeks before buying but have caved because 20 weeks doesn’t seem that long away 😬

How’s everybody doing?

Loulou237 · 18/01/2022 13:47

@Oti22 congratulations! I hope you can get super excited now! Yes start buying, half way! Xxx

Loulou237 · 18/01/2022 15:20

@Oti22 p.s I’m doing ok still haven’t felt much movement, got my 20 week scan next week. Can’t wait to feel more pregnant again! Hope you’re feeling ok xxx

GinnyBee · 18/01/2022 17:15

Congrats @Oti22 ! I bought my first thing after our gender scan at 17 weeks, just a 3 pack of sleepsuits from M&S. Then we started planning the list of all the things we need after the 20 week scan. Still haven't bought loads, just some clothes, but I've looked online for nursery furniture bits and researched pram brands, and on Friday we have John Lewis baby a-z appointment that a lot of people recommended to do so hopefully that'll help and we can finalise the list properly.

It's gonna be expensive 🙈 there's so much stuff to get!

susiebluebell · 18/01/2022 17:49

@Hopingforarainbow27 Likewise I didn't get notified of your new messages until today either! Sorry!

My two previous pregnancies didn't go past 5-6 weeks, so I was really depressed and anxious about making it past those milestones too. Now I'm 14.5 weeks! In hindsight, I wish I did tell someone other than my partner, as I really could have used the support. Are you sure there's no one you could lean on a bit for support?

Fingers crossed confidently for you - the statistics are on our side Smile

susiebluebell · 18/01/2022 17:51

@Oti22 congratulations on your 20wk scan! I've just had my letter through for ours at the beginning of March!

Oti22 · 18/01/2022 17:56

Thanks @Loulou237 I was so surprised at how much he moved on the scan but I couldn’t feel a thing! The sonographer said we only feel 10% of movements or less at 20 weeks. Hope your scan comes round quickly!

@GinnyBee I’ve bought 4 outfits but they’re all for autumn/winter and won’t fit until at least September 😂 What will be the nursery doesn’t even have plaster on the walls atm…

I was worried it’d get expensive but I’ve been given so much stuff already - a Moses basket, bedside crib, two breast pumps, slings and a sleepy head. I’ve also been offered a Tripp trapp chair and pram, although I really want a new pram but there are so many to choose from!

I got a list of things they recommend from John Lewis and thought the lady said you get 10% off everything if you buy at one of the A- Z appointments? Let us know how it goes as I’m tempted!

Hurrah and congratulations. 20 weeks is a huge milestone.

All ok (I think / hope here). Got the NT test results back and they're all good. So that's a relief.

Booked a sexing scan at 16 weeks so I'm waiting for that now. (20 week scan seemed a million miles away so I was also thinking it will hopefully be a nice midway reassurance.

Still no symptoms which keeps giving me the fear. I seem to go through a rollercoaster where I have a scan, feel great and super reassured, and then start to get really anxious about a fortnight later. Until I'm terrified and dreading the next scan. 🤦🏼‍♀️

About 12 days to go to the next one so no doubt will be a chaotic mess by then.

I cannot wait until I can feel movements properly as presumably then I will at least be able to actually tell I'm pregnant.

If I was a billionaire I think I'd have weekly private scans.

Good luck for next week @Loulou237! What day is it?

Loulou237 · 18/01/2022 20:22

Thanks @OnceUponAThread it’s next Thursday 😊

@Oti22 yeah it’s crazy how much they wriggle isn’t it! I’ve got an anterior placenta so it takes even longer to feel anything. It won’t be long until they are kicking us in the ribs from the inside don’t worry 😉 xxx

Does anyone use pregnancy apps? I'm apprehensive to download them as I've downloaded and had to delete twice before 🤦🏽‍♀️

I use Flo. Use it to track periods and now pregnancy.

I was really wary this time (after having to stop the pregnancy on there post miscarriage). I think I waited till I'd had my early scan to put the pregnancy on this one.

I enjoy the weekly update on baby size and developments. And I'm happy to have it. It was just one of many brutal things to cancel last time though.

Hopingforarainbow27 · 18/01/2022 20:42

@OnceUponAThread maybe I will wait until my 8 week scan! I've got a 6 week one next week but that won't reassure me much!

OnceUponAThread · 18/01/2022 20:45

@Hopingforarainbow27 makes sense. I think I was about 8 weeks when I did mine. I'd seen a heartbeat and was feeling better about things.

Didn't stave off raging anxiety but I felt ready for the app.

susiebluebell · 18/01/2022 22:10

Yeah I was tracking my cycles on Clue and switched into pregnancy mode. It's fairly basic but lets you track all possible symptoms and gives you the weekly size and weight of the little one!

Hopingforarainbow27 · 18/01/2022 22:12

Thanks girls! It's an anxious time but I'm glad I'm not alone. I'm trying to not think I'm pregnant to be honest so that if something goes wrong it's not as much of a let down

chasingtherainbow1 · 18/01/2022 22:36

I'm also trying to forget I'm pregnant or if I do think about it, I keep telling myself it will all go wrong at the scan next week so I don't get my hopes up. Such an awful way of thinking but I find it easier to cope that way.

@Hopingforarainbow27 let us know how your scan goes!

Hopingforarainbow27 · 18/01/2022 22:37

@chasingtherainbow1 oh I know! Then you feel bad for thinking like that and it's a vicious circle!

Hope the next few weeks fly by for us both! I will let yous all know next Wednesday! Appt is at 10:30!

Hopingforarainbow27 · 19/01/2022 19:28

Hi everyone. I'm 5 weeks I think and I keep getting a dull ache, nearly like my period could come. Is this normal? I never had it with the other two pregnancies

itssquidstella · 19/01/2022 19:43

Hi @Hopingforarainbow27 it definitely can be normal! I had it on and off for a few weeks.

Loulou237 · 19/01/2022 19:45

@Hopingforarainbow27 try not to worry that’s exactly what it feels like when you have a viable pregnancy too, I had proper period pains quite a lot with my daughter and it scares the shit out of you but totally normal and just implantation and stretching etc xxx

Hopingforarainbow27 · 19/01/2022 19:47

@Loulou237 @itssquidstella thank you so much. As it's different from the other two I'm going to tell myself that's positive! It's just scary you think you'll go to toilet and wipe and see blood and then you don't!

Hopingforarainbow27 · 19/01/2022 19:58

I just found an app called pregnancy after loss of anybody wants to check it out ❤️ it's a pregnancy app like the others but there's meditations etc on it specifically for us

OnceUponAThread · 19/01/2022 20:21

Aches are perfectly normal. I have them all the time and 13 week scan was all good! I think it's your uterus stretching.
OnceUponAThread · 19/01/2022 20:33

Is anyone else having issues with notifications but just on this thread? For some reason it won't sit in "I'm on" and only stays in "I'm watching" and doesn't seem to alert me properly. So odd...
