Pregnancy after miscarriage

Hello,

I just found out I’m pregnant again (very early days, 4w today). I had a mmc back in April which was diagnosed at almost 12 weeks but baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks and then I fell pregnant again but had a natural mc at 5+5.
This time I am taking progesterone pessaries and aspirin. Anyone else pregnant after a loss? I’m so scared about mmc but trying to relax as much as possible.

@susiebluebell thank you so much. It comes in waves. I just need to accept that it's not in my control x

Hopingforarainbow27 · 13/01/2022 19:58

I keep getting twinges. Is this normal at 4 weeks? It's like pulsing and twinges and pricking at times

Hopingforarainbow27 · 13/01/2022 20:00

I didn't have this with the other two pregnancies

itssquidstella · 13/01/2022 20:01

@Hopingforarainbow27 totally normally, it's part of the implantation process and your uterus getting used to the embryo!

Hopingforarainbow27 · 13/01/2022 20:06

@itssquidstella thank you. I am so so grateful for this group. I would go crazy without this. I'm thinking something is wrong but then I'm reassured! I didn't think you'd feel anything like this until baby got bigger and was stretching lol I'm hoping this is positive signs for me because it's different than the last 2

EmLouisexx · 14/01/2022 07:29

Hey, Im 4weeks pregnant after 2 losses last year. I am terrified at the moment and hoping for the best!
Spoke to my doctor today who has told me to take aspirin as it may help.
I asked about progesterone and he completely dismissed this and went on and on saying there is no scientific evidence, nothing can stop a miscarriage and i just need to go about my normal life. This left me sooo deflated.
I'm having a scan at 6 weeks. That feels like such a long time away🙈

Hopingforarainbow27 · 14/01/2022 07:51

@EmLouisexx we have the exact same situation! I'm 4 weeks too and have had two losses! We can do this together 🌈

Hopingforarainbow27 · 14/01/2022 08:19

Did anyone else test to check progression?

EmLouisexx · 14/01/2022 08:56

@Hopingforarainbow27 Yes we are🌈. I'm so excited for the scan!
I don't think I will be checking for progression, I queried this with my doctor and he said not to keep testing and checking.
When I had my MMC i was constantly checking progression and all tests came back darker and darker.
I gave myself so much hope and then I was gutted when we got bad news.
I'm going to go with what will be will be, I cannot control the outcome and I don't want to make myself worry about something I have no control over❤️

Hopingforarainbow27 · 14/01/2022 09:05

@EmLouisexx ok I won't do it! I just want to fast forward until the 8 week scan to see if all ok as I always lost mine just before it!

OnceUponAThread · 14/01/2022 12:13

How is everyone doing this week and who's got scans coming up?

@Hopingforarainbow27 I wouldn't check progression if I were you. (Although I know how hard it is to resist the temptation to POAS constantly). But it will probably make anxiety worse and it won't actually tell you anything.

@EmLouisexx weird twinges are totally normal, it's your uterus expanding I think. Good luck for scan. I know two weeks feels like forever - but it'll be there before you know it.

I think lots of us in the group have had two or more MCs, and there's quite a few people approaching 20 weeks now. Hopefully that's a bit comforting.

But don't feel bad for being scared. I've been constantly terrified. Now at 14 weeks - ages till scan. Anxiety starting to ramp up.

I can't wait till I can feel him / her moving rather than freaking out that it's gone wrong and having to wait for the next scan. 😇

OnceUponAThread · 14/01/2022 12:14

That was supposed to be 🤦🏼‍♀️ not 😇

Loulou237 · 14/01/2022 15:11

@OnceUponAThread I’m in the same boat, but gender scan at 16 weeks really helped so I would recommend it if you can, breaks the time up! Xx

Yes I've got one booked in at 16+3 in a couple of weeks. These waits feel endless though.

Hopingforarainbow27 · 14/01/2022 23:38

Has anyone had progesterone pessaries and had any side effects

Hopingforarainbow27 · 15/01/2022 11:15

@GinnyBee had you any tests done as to why you had the miscarriages? I'm struggling today with thoughts that it's going to happen again

chasingtherainbow1 · 16/01/2022 21:05

Hi everyone. Recognise some of the names from conception threads

Found out last Tuesday that I'm pregnant again after 2 miscarriages last year. Think I'm 4w3d today. Got a scan booked with the EPU for 28th Jan which I'm glad about but think I'm also getting a bit of ptsd about going due to all the bad news received there before.

I know no one can tell me everything's going to be ok but would like to join this group for a bit of comfort. We're not telling anyone about this pregnancy so feeling a bit lonely and overwhelmed atm

Hopingforarainbow27 · 16/01/2022 21:42

@chasingtherainbow1 I'm in the exact same position as you and I am 4w 4 days I think. I have my scan on 26th and also dreading it

chasingtherainbow1 · 16/01/2022 22:18

@Hopingforarainbow27 we can provide each other with support throughout then! The scans seem ages away. But part of me is glad because I'm dreading going! Don't think my partner is allowed there either because of omicron.

Few like I'm checking my boobs every hour to make sure they still hurt although I dunno why because there's nothing I can do if they ease off a bit. Just wanna fast forward a few months now and hope everything is good by then!

What vitamins are you taking? Ive got pregnacare and some omega 3 but not sure if there's anything not included on these which I should be taking

Hopingforarainbow27 · 16/01/2022 23:29

I know I want to fast forward. I'm just on 5mg folic acid, 1000 vitamin d and progesterone pessaries! @chasingtherainbow1

chasingtherainbow1 · 17/01/2022 13:47

@Hopingforarainbow27 thanks was just checking if there should be anything else. How you feeling today?

I had my first mc at 5w5d and tbf second kind at 8/9 weeks but baby didn't grow past 6w so o feel like 6 weeks is my milestone. I know that doesn't mean I'm safe after that either though. Who ever thought pregnancy would be this hard when you first start trying

Hopingforarainbow27 · 17/01/2022 19:36

@chasingtherainbow1 I've been busy so haven't thought much about it today. Yes mine both never grew past 6 weeks either ☹️

chasingtherainbow1 · 17/01/2022 21:37

@Hopingforarainbow27 oh that's good, I need to keep myself busy! Had a panic today because my boobs just suddenly felt normal again after being really painful all week. Then they seem to be hurting again now 🙈

Trying my best not to test everyday for line progression!

GinnyBee · 18/01/2022 11:03

@Hopingforarainbow27 Sorry only seen your post now! The notifications on this site aren't very good, are they 😒 I had some basic blood tests through my GP which I asked for and they were happy to do - I had full blood count, thyroid function, B12, clotting screen and APS antibodies. Found nothing out of the ordinary. I had no side effects from the progesterone pessaries except maybe constipation but hard to really say if it was the cyclogest as it's common in pregnancy anyway.

Hopingforarainbow27 · 18/01/2022 11:06

@GinnyBee aw I'm so glad it's working out for you this time! I had my blood done too and they were all normal so maybe it was just chromosome abnormalities!
