Hello,

I just found out I’m pregnant again (very early days, 4w today). I had a mmc back in April which was diagnosed at almost 12 weeks but baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks and then I fell pregnant again but had a natural mc at 5+5.
This time I am taking progesterone pessaries and aspirin. Anyone else pregnant after a loss? I’m so scared about mmc but trying to relax as much as possible.

@susiebluebell when is your scan again? So exciting!

Happy new year everyone xxx

GinnyBee · 01/01/2022 09:25

@OnceUponAThread it was around that time when I had a couple of weeks of feeling completely normal and not pregnant at all! The nausea had gone, my energy was back, bloating went down, I was sleeping normally, everything just felt like the first trimester didn't even happen! Then it all came back 😅 The start of the second trimester is the hardest for that reason - you don't feel pregnant at all and can't feel them move yet either. I'm now half way and getting more and more uncomfortable by the day!

susiebluebell · 01/01/2022 10:02

@Loulou237 My scan's in about 10 days! Eek

Loulou237 · 01/01/2022 10:17

@susiebluebell it will be amazing 😻

OnceUponAThread · 01/01/2022 14:28

Thank you for all your lovely support everyone. Fingers crossed it's just normal symptom vanishing as you say.

For now I'm just eating chocolate and trying not to think about it all.

Hope everyone else is doing ok. XxX

Loulou237 · 01/01/2022 16:37

@OnceUponAThread sounds like the best plan definitely! Xxx

Loulou237 · 06/01/2022 15:29

@OnceUponAThread how are you doing? Is it your scan tomorrow?

Also how is everyone else? I do not agree about the second trimester being easy, I am suffering but not sure if it’s because I’m also running round after a toddler 😬

GinnyBee · 06/01/2022 16:29

@Loulou237 I'm not enjoying second trimester either! Earlier on I still had some nausea, particularly in the evenings, and food aversions. Nausea still sometimes raises its head if I leave too long between meals, but aversions are mostly gone and I'm better at eating. But I've also got huge! Christmas Eve when we told husband's grandma I was still just in a normal jumper not really even a loose one, and you couldn't tell whether I was preggers or just a bit chubby. Somehow around New Years though I suddenly ballooned and now look like I've swallowed a beach ball! I absolutely hate it.

Loulou237 · 06/01/2022 16:36

@GinnyBee oh I love the getting huge bit! I’m always a bit self conscious of my stomach so it’s nice to actually have a bump instead of just a belly 😂 well it half looks like a bump now ha.
That’s great the nausea has pretty much gone for you! Me too, although it’s been replaced with dizziness and just feeling really achey as things stretch quite a lot. People who say the 2nd trimester is the good one are mad or lucky! Xx

Loulou237 · 06/01/2022 16:37

@GinnyBee are you past halfway now? I can never remember. It would be good to do a list of everyone with their due dates at some point, maybe when everyone is past the 12 week mark and feeling less nervous xx

GinnyBee · 06/01/2022 16:40

Yea I'm 21 weeks now! Three more months left at work and then I'm off on mat leave!

susiebluebell · 06/01/2022 19:32

The arrival of the bump sounds lovely. I too have some hang-ups about my tummy, so will enjoy it sticking out for all the right reasons!

Can anyone advise whether they had odd cramping around the 12 week mark? I've had a lot of stretchy type twinges up till now - very different from period cramps - but today I had quite an extended bout of small cramps that really freaked me out!

Loulou237 · 06/01/2022 19:41

Hi @susiebluebell I hope you’re well apart from feeling a bit freaked out! I didn’t have any twinges at all with this pregnancy until around 12 weeks when I started getting the stretching pains and then really strong cramps that were exactly the same as period pains, so scary! It’s all totally normal and just designed to keep us constantly terrified I think. I’m 17 weeks + 3 and still get the odd day or two of it, just everything growing at a ridiculous rate 😊 xx

Loulou237 · 06/01/2022 19:42

@GinnyBee that’s so exciting! It will go so quickly I think xx

Loulou237 · 07/01/2022 07:10

Thinking of you today @OnceUponAThread xxx

Thank you that's actually really reassuring! I think I can breathe a bit easier now. Main thing is no bleeding 🤞🏻

Scan on Tuesday! Xx

Loulou237 · 07/01/2022 10:53

@susiebluebell no exactly and some of mine were pretty strong pains too. I do remember having similar with my daughter but at the time I forget things like that! Ah amazing hopefully that will put your mind to rest too xxx

OnceUponAThread · 08/01/2022 01:08

Just a quick (late night) update to say all went well with my scan. Little bean coming along nicely, heartbeat good, everything as it should be.

Haven't had the NT results yet (anyone know how long I'll have to wait for that?) but otherwise all fine.

What a huge, huge relief. Hopefully I can be calm for a couple of weeks now until the next panic. 😂

GinnyBee · 08/01/2022 07:54

@OnceUponAThread Congratulations! I got my results in a letter within a few days of the scan, but I think it depends on the trust. Some ring you to tell you, some discuss it at the next mw appointment.

Loulou237 · 08/01/2022 08:24

@OnceUponAThread great news! I hope you can relax a little now.

They said to me they will ring you if anything is concerning otherwise it’s a letter but should be within a few days. I rang my midwives up when didn’t hear xxx

itssquidstella · 08/01/2022 09:21

Wonderful news @OnceUponAThread!

OnceUponAThread · 08/01/2022 09:25

Thanks all.

I think they said to me that I will hear by phone in two to three days if something is wrong.

But if it's fine I should get a letter in two weeks (so looooooong. Why?)

Am thinking I might tell people properly if those tests come back clear. What's everyone else doing in terms of telling friends and family?

Loulou237 · 08/01/2022 09:43

@OnceUponAThread just cause it takes so long for admin to process etc, that’s why I think it’s worth phoning to ask and then someone can just check on the system immediately so maybe phone weds?

I told people as soon as we had the 12 week scan as I find it difficult to keep a secret and that was the longest I’d managed for any pregnancy Grin

OnceUponAThread · 08/01/2022 09:46

Good idea. I need to ring up and find out when my 20 week scan is so perhaps I can kill two birds with one stone as it were!

Can't wait to tell people. I've told a couple out of necessity but I'd like to be able to do a mini announcement and tell my family etc.

Loulou237 · 08/01/2022 13:24

@OnceUponAThread it’s so exciting isn’t it! I’m so happy for you that all is ok, hope you tell people soon.

We found out our baby is a boy a few days ago! Ecstatic as we already have a little girl. Will you find out the gender do you think?

What about the rest of the ladies, do you want to find out? Xx
