Hello,

I just found out I’m pregnant again (very early days, 4w today). I had a mmc back in April which was diagnosed at almost 12 weeks but baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks and then I fell pregnant again but had a natural mc at 5+5.
This time I am taking progesterone pessaries and aspirin. Anyone else pregnant after a loss? I’m so scared about mmc but trying to relax as much as possible.

Hello all can i join please ☺️

I've been TTC after MMC in March 21 it took me 11 weeks to get a negative frer. My first cycle after the MMC was in May 21.
We have been TTC since the first cycle after MMC.
I got a positive 1-2 on clear blue digital at 12 DPO. AF was due today 14DPO but obviously no sign.
I have minimal symptoms, only real ones are loss of appetite, a lot bloating and indigestion. I think I'm going to test with another clear blue weeks indicator next weekend to hopefully see 3+
Im trying not to worry but its very hard, although I hopefully this one is meant to be.... interestingly my due date is my mums birthday and weirdly i share my birthday with my Grandma ☺️
@OnceUponAThread I know the anxiety! After one successful scan you start worrying about the next, and then the screening tests, then the 16-week appointment when they listen for the heartbeat, then the anomaly scan...

Speaking of, I had my 16-week mw appointment today! Was both looking forward to hearing the heartbeat and dreading that she can't find it. She did, and it was all fine. Then next Saturday we have a private scan booked when we should find out gender. I will probably feel good about today until about Thursday next week and then start stressing about the next scan 😩

I genuinely thought that if we get past the point of both my previous miscarriages and into the second trimester the constant fear would go away. I was wrong. It's faded a bit, but hasn't gone anywhere. I'm now in the unfortunate stage of pregnancy when I don't feel pregnant - the first trimester crap is over, bloatedness has gone down and I feel more like myself, and can't feel movements yet. Technically this should be a lovely time, but it just isn't.
It's so hard when there's no symptoms. You can't help but think it's must be a bad sign but I think it's quite standard. I'm just exhausted all the time at the moment. Trying to sit sight till the next scan.

Welcome to the group. Fingers crossed for your next test. Don't set too much store by the week indicator ones. I didn't get my three weeks and I had such a panic and at my early scan things were fine.

FRERs are good. Try one of those first I reckon.

SamBass · 03/12/2021 22:56

Thanks @OnceUponAThread I would like an early scan but my hubby doesn't. We found out at the early scan there was no HB (10 weeks) I think he is understandably anxious and scared

Loulou237 · 04/12/2021 13:37

Hi @SamBass hope you’re feeling ok. I remember you from a while ago! Congratulations. I understand where your husband is coming from, it’s so scary. But if you don’t have an early scan it’s a long wait to find out and then I’m guessing you would both be even more anxious at the 12 week scan. Maybe he’ll come round to the idea in a few weeks.

@susiebluebell how are you doing? I hope you’re feeling ok! So happy for you that you got pregnant so quickly again after it taking so long the last time! Did you do anything differently or start any supplements or anything? Fingers crossed for a healthy uneventful pregnancy for you and a lovely summer baba! Xxx

SamBass · 04/12/2021 16:03

@Loulou237 I remember you too! Where are you know in your journey? Think we will just try let it settle first and maybe talk about it again soon. Its a strange feeling being happy to be pregnant again but scared at the same time.

Loulou237 · 04/12/2021 17:29

@SamBass yes it’s a very weird feeling isn’t it and I found I was even more anxious than I am usually.
That’s a good idea and you can see how you feel in a few weeks.
I’m almost 13 weeks now and I’ve had 4 scans so far Grin I did promise myself if I got to 12 weeks I would try and chill out but it’s still quite difficult! I hope you have a stress free (or as much as possible) 9 months xxx

susiebluebell · 04/12/2021 18:55

@Loulou237 I am OK, dealing with a lot of mixed feelings about conceiving right after my 2nd miscarriage. I didn't get a chance to process it I think, so while I do have a lot of obvious symptoms, my mindset is still quite negative a lot of the time.

To be honest we didn't do anything different, I wasn't eating particularly healthy or taking any supplements, although I did focus on health a lot earlier this year. I wasn't thinking about ttc much at all - we were moving house and I was feeling down about the miscarriage. It's funny how things happen sometimes.

I'm now 7.5 weeks and having my booking-in appointment with the midwife in a week. I know I won't have a scan then, but am still worrying that it's somehow going to have gone wrong and she'll tell me I'm not pregnant any more. I'm going to be even worse for the 12-week scan Confused

Hope everyone else is doing well xx

SamBass · 04/12/2021 19:11

@Loulou237 so pleased to hear you at 13 weeks now hopefully the rest is a little less stress for you.

Im still at the very early stages so just trying to focus on milestones..getting past the last time then getting to the 12 week scan and so on

Loulou237 · 05/12/2021 15:24

@susiebluebell I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling mixed about the pregnancy. I guess that’s natural so soon after a miscarriage, it must be so confusing and not let you have time to get over it at all. I know what you mean about the booking appointment, I feel like that at all of my appointments at the moment! I have found that early scans help me realise it is real after all. Good luck with it and I hope you start feeling some excitement as the time passes.

@SamBass that’s a very good idea just take each day as it comes! Xx

Might an early scan help soothe you a bit. I found mine incredibly helpful. I also managed to get it through the NHS due to my general anxiety and having had a previous MC.

OnceUponAThread · 05/12/2021 20:16

I've just had another positive milestone. Did my booking in appointment and have had it confirmed that bloods were all fine.

Scan soon so fingers crossed that's all ok and then I can hopefully start to get excited. 🤞🏻

Loulou237 · 06/12/2021 10:29

@OnceUponAThread that’s great news! How far along are you now? When is your scan? Hope you’re not feeling too bad xx

Assuming all is well - about 9wks 5 days. Scan coming up soon, starting to feel very, very anxious again.

SRLaycock · 07/12/2021 10:49

So I've just got back from my 12 week scan. Measuring at 12+3 so ahead of what I thought..... all good with baby so far. They were wriggling away and we saw fingers and toes and elbows and knees! I don't want to jinx myself but I feel a huge amount of relief

susiebluebell · 07/12/2021 11:56

@SRLaycock that's amazing! You must have been thrilled to see your baby in all the detail. I can't wait for our 12 week scan just after Christmas, much as I'm dreading the worst as well! Xmas Smile

susiebluebell · 07/12/2021 11:59

Thanks for your kind words @Loulou237 I am hopeful that I'll start to get more relaxed and excited soon!

@OnceUponAThread We had a scan at 6 weeks actually, because I bled a bit and was very anxious about it due to two previous miscarriages. They were great actually, booked me in for the scan straight away. I feel I can't just keep phoning up and asking for more scans because I feel worried though Grin

Totally understand that you're bricking it with your 12 week coming up soon xx

OnceUponAThread · 07/12/2021 12:01

@susiebluebell fair enough! Could you book a private one if it would set your mind at rest.

I've got one as an interim before my 12 week. Blush

SRLaycock · 07/12/2021 14:07

Thankyou @susiebluebell it was such a relief!

I've had 2 private scans in between my early one at EPAU at 8 weeks and this one..... costly but they 100% have helped with my worrying, also making the intervals between scans shorter has definitely helped me.

OnceUponAThread · 07/12/2021 14:25

Oh congratulations!!! How exciting for you. How amazing to see all the details and know everything is ok.
Loulou237 · 07/12/2021 15:13

@susiebluebell feeling worried is definitely enough reason to have a scan! My epu only give one reassurance scan and then nothing until 12 week unless there’s pain or bleeding but it’s worth an ask or a private one before Christmas would be lovely.

@OnceUponAThread I’m so sorry you’re feeling so anxious! I was absolutely convinced of the worst at my early scans but everything was fine. And just remember it is far more likely that everything is perfect with you! Please let us know how you get on.

@SRLaycock congratulations! There’s nothing like that feeling of relief and happiness. I hope you can get really excited now! Xxx

itssquidstella · 07/12/2021 16:48

I’ve just had my 16 week midwife appointment and was able to hear the baby's heartbeat! Feeing so reassured now, finally starting to feel like I might actually be having a baby!

How exciting! Huge congratulations. You must be so so relieved. Was it amazing?

Guess you're not a million miles from 20wk scan. Do you want to know the sex?

itssquidstella · 07/12/2021 17:11

@OnceUponAThread it was so nice to hear. 20 weeks scan is on New Year's Eve but we're actually having a private scan on Saturday because DH wanted to see the baby again. We know we're having a boy as I had the NIPT testing 😊

OnceUponAThread · 07/12/2021 17:19

Congrats on a boy! How lovely!!!

Fair enough on private scan for DH. My DH hasn't seen the bump yet as he wasn't allowed in the EPU.

Assuming all ok he'll be able to at private and at 12 weeks hopefully.

I'm desperate to know what sex mine is. If all is successful etc I will be dying to know by 20 weeks. Fingers crossed they will tell me, I've read not everywhere will.
