Hello,

I just found out I’m pregnant again (very early days, 4w today). I had a mmc back in April which was diagnosed at almost 12 weeks but baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks and then I fell pregnant again but had a natural mc at 5+5.
This time I am taking progesterone pessaries and aspirin. Anyone else pregnant after a loss? I’m so scared about mmc but trying to relax as much as possible.

Oh good!!! @OnceUponAThread You're right it's difficult to interpret sometimes..... glad you're appointment is early on.

@Loubylauralou I feel like I've heard 6 months before but no idea when/where. I reckon you just make that decision based on how you feel physically and mentally - you'll know when it's right to TTC xxx

Loubylauralou · 17/11/2021 22:07

Yes absolutely, we've already said we want to wait at least a few months to take time for ourselves.

OnceUponAThread · 18/11/2021 13:31

Was sick this morning, which I'm thinking might be a good thing. Sign of how anxiety inducing the whole process is when you're celebrating being sick. 😩

Onebabyandamadcat · 18/11/2021 16:00

That's a hopeful sign @OneUponAThread! My sickness wasn't nearly as bad today so obviously that means that I've had a MMC (in my demented head anyway) I can't believe how much having a miscarriage ruins the joy of early pregnancy. I've had nearly three weeks now of utter torture and anxiety. My scan is tomorrow and I just want to know one way or the other if things look ok but then I'm now wondering even if they do, will I just continue to panic until they arrive. My first pregnancy was so different - I was so blissfully unaware of all the worries.

Tryingformylastmiracle · 18/11/2021 16:29

@Onebabyandamadcat the way u feeling is totally normal to me when I wasnt sick oh I'm not sick enough maybe I've lost again when I was sick oh this is too much not normal maybe my body cant cope it's not going the right way when really it's all down to past events just you thinking about it without sayingit outloud that I'm scared of going through the same thing again

Oti21 · 18/11/2021 18:23

Anybody waiting on their 12 week nhs scan? Or if you’ve had it how close to 12 weeks was it? I had my booking appointment this week and was told they’d be in touch with a scan date but I’m 11 weeks tomorrow (although they think I was 11 on Wednesday based on my last period, rather than ovulation.). I was told it would likely be past 13 weeks so may just cave and book a private one for next Friday...

This is exactly how I feel all the time. Such a thief of joy, and because of a missed miscarriage it's not even like you can think no news is good news. It's awful really.

I'm absolutely terrified about my scan, but as you say at least we'll know either way. If by some miracle it's going well - I hope that's reassuring for a bit at least, but I'll probably just end up panicking to 12 weeks.

Loulou237 · 18/11/2021 20:58

@Onebabyandamadcat good luck tomorrow! Everything crossed for you and please let us know how it goes.

@Oti21 they booked my scan in pretty quickly but it must depend on the area you’re in. I think it should be before 14 weeks for them to do all the measurements etc though. So does that mean you’re 11 +2 tomorrow? That’s exciting! Not long to wait til your scan. How are you feeling now? I’m 10 weeks and not feeling as sick or as ‘pregnant’ but I think that’s natural at this stage 🤞🏻 Xx

Oti21 · 18/11/2021 21:53

@Loulou237 from the date of my last period I’d be 11 + 2 tomorrow but I ovulate a bit later so think I’m 11 tomorrow (this also ties in with my last scan). Midwife is going by LMP atm though.

Dr signed me off as I was throwing up as much as 15 times a day up till last week but since Monday I’m slowly feeling better... still nauseous and can’t face most food (unless it’s beige!) but I can’t remember the last time I was awake after 9.30 so definitely progress! I think it’s really normal to start feeling better at this point too. Glad you’re starting to feel better as well! When’s your scan? x

SRLaycock · 18/11/2021 22:24

@Oti21 I had my initial midwife appt last week - she referred me for my 12 week scan that same day (electronically) and I was sent my scan appt 2 days later and it's booked for bang on my 12 weeks date (as per LMP) - I'm based in Sheffield and my local hospital is a purpose built maternity hospital so I don't know if that plays a part in getting my scan dates so efficiently or not xxx

OnceUponAThread · 18/11/2021 23:51

I self-referred online and got my 12 week scan date within 10 days. It's way off (just before Christmas) and actually a few days before 12 weeks. But was super efficient.

OnceUponAThread · 18/11/2021 23:51

(That was for @Oti21)

Onebabyandamadcat · 19/11/2021 06:08

After gradually feeling more positive this week and there being no spotting, I've woke up today to lots of dark red blood. Scan is at 11am this morning but I think that it's definitely all over 😔

Loulou237 · 19/11/2021 06:28

@Onebabyandamadcat I’m so sorry you’ve woken up to this. Everything crossed for you and sending lots of love xx

Loubylauralou · 19/11/2021 08:19

@Onebabyandamadcat thinking of you and keeping everything crossed for you.

Oti21 · 19/11/2021 09:11

@Onebabyandamadcat fingers crossed for you and will be thinking of you today xx

Oti21 · 19/11/2021 09:32

@SRLaycock Thanks, I’m under Liverpool women’s so also a maternity hospital but I suppose the delay could be because of last weeks incident. I’ve just caved and booked a private scan for next Friday as there was only 1 left where I wanted to go... I also want to get my covid booster but really want the 12 week scan first.

Thanks @OnceUponAThread it’s good they’ve allowed you to book in advance!

I’ve woken up this morning with so much energy and feel so ‘normal’. I’m very happy about it and it has been gradual rather than instant but also a tiny bit of worry as the sickness has been reassuring... Still some other symptoms though. How’s everybody else feeling?

GinnyBee · 19/11/2021 09:33

@Oti21 I had my scan at 12+1 according to LMP but ended up measuring 12+5 which isn't quite possible with when I ovulated and had my BFP but we'll go with it. I think baby is just tall! I got the appointment booked pretty quickly, my midwife sent the referral off when she called to book my first appointment so I had it already before my booking appointment. It took about a week from the referral being sent to receiving the letter.

Best of luck @Onebabyandamadcat and fingers crossed! I know it's worrying but it can still be nothing.

SRLaycock · 19/11/2021 11:12

@Onebabyandamadcat Sending lots of love today ❤️

@Oti21 Aha! I know it well 😊 - Originally from Liverpool..... fantastic hospital and yes I bet you're right about last weeks awful incident. I don't blame you for booking a private one though.... a couple of weeks feels like an eternity when in this position xxx

MrsCtobe91 · 19/11/2021 11:22

Hi ladies, mind if i join? I was reluctant to post on MN incase i jinxed myself but im struggling to cope with this anxiety that something is going to go wrong.

Im 5+2 today with absolutely no symptoms which just adds to the stress. I had a Chemical in April then a Mmc in july when i should've been 8weeks.

Anyway, sorry to be a downer on here, congratulations to you all and i hope you all have some seriously sticky babies and happy & healthy pregnancies 👣🍼. Xx

Onebabyandamadcat · 19/11/2021 12:23

Back from my scan which was again inconclusive. The pregnancy has grown by 10 days. There's a gestational sac, a yolk sac and a 4mm fetal pole but there's no heartbeat. The sonographer said that while it's not a certain that there should be one at this stage, she generally can find one. I'm going back next Friday by which point I may be actually insane. Spotting is still here today after four days absence too. I think this wee bean is fighting hard but is going to lose.

SRLaycock · 19/11/2021 12:31

@Onebabyandamadcat What are you 'meant' to be measuring by your calculations? I'm sorry you've not got a definitive answer yet - it's the waiting that's so damn hard. I have everything crossed for you - sending lots of love and positive thoughts 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 xxx

Tryingformylastmiracle · 19/11/2021 13:31

@MrsCtobe91 I was the same till 7 weeks zero symptoms then came 8 weeks had migraines and ended up extremely anaemic and nausea that was beyond belief ended up dehydrated I went from felling nothing to thinking I was dying so give it time this process changes like four seasons
@Onebabyandamadcat I'm sorry your scan is inconclusive another 10 days is gonna feel like life time hopefully now they can give u the answers you need to be able to sleep properly if not no harm demanding those answers on the day because this is not good for you too weeks of stress and anxiety

Onebabyandamadcat · 19/11/2021 13:38

I'm supposed to be 7+4 today so I'm not sure about how much it should be measuring -8/10mm maybe?
