I got a lovely dye stealer this morning and I am so chuffed! After a CP in July, seeing that beautiful first line so dark is giving me great hope.

Anyone else 5 weeks? How are you feeling? Flowers

@babyboybluex well I'm still awake!! But feel sick the food is taking so long to arrive!!! The kids are falling asleep lol

Well I've had 3 mc all at 11 weeks.. on those I had spotting on and off for weeks beforehand. So I will probably wait another week maybe then book in. It also feels like once you book in.. then it's real lol

FateHasRedesignedMost · 02/10/2021 15:41

Hi ladies, thanks for the kind wishes! Just to let you know I had the early scan today, measuring 6 weeks 4 days… and heard and saw the heartbeat. Baby looked like a jellybean! Was very reassuring it’s in the right place, also the risk of miscarriage apparently drops to 2% once heartbeat is seen.

Seeing it on screen made it all feel so much more real!!

Lemonadee · 02/10/2021 16:12

@FateHasRedesignedMost wishing you lots of luck for your early scan. Xx

Lemonadee · 02/10/2021 16:18

@FateHasRedesignedMost oh wow! That's fantastic news! You must be over the moon!

Can I ask why you were sent for an early scan, if you don't mind me asking? I had some spotting which started on Thursday afternoon. I spoke to the midwife and she said she would speak to EPU regarding an early scan but they like to wait atleast 7 weeks because there's not much to see. She advised me to take another pregnancy test in the mean time... Which I did and am still positive. I still feel really nauseous all day long too so I'm assuming that's a good sign?

Speaking of which, anyone have any tips about nausea? I read that its usually at its worst between 8-11weeks, I'm only 6+4 but if it gets much worse I'm going to have my head in a bucket all day long 🤢

Skye90 · 02/10/2021 17:32

So glad your scan was ok X

Blondiebrownie6 · 02/10/2021 18:24

That’s good your scan went well @FateHasRedesignedMost , such a relief to
See that heartbeat :)

How was your Chinese @Snoopy28x did
You make it lol? How are you feeling?

@Lemonadee could you try little and often and keep it really simple/plain? I’ve had waves of sickness so can’t offer any major tips @Tofu35 suggested to me the other day about belvita biscuits and they Defos helped that sicky feeling first thing upon waking . It’s so hard as everyone will react differently , it’s certainly an uneasy feeling though! This past few days I feel like I’ve been hit by a bus all over , today has been a sofa day with about 3 naps :/ not sure if that’s marking me feel worse but I’m really lacking energy! I walked for an hour first thing this morning to get out the house and it’s wiped me out! X

Snoopy28x · 02/10/2021 19:11

@Blondiebrownie6 I made it until 10pm!! The food took forever. Dd fell asleep 5mins after lol

Well I was awake half the night feeling sick! And feeling queasy today. Spent all day studying at sil house. Got an exam in a few weeks. However I felt something funny downstairs.. went to check and had some spotting. It was sort of orange red. For a few wipes then had stopped now just brown. Confused so not sure how I'm feeling. Previous experience hasnt lead to a good outcome.. but I know it can be normal. So have to just wait and see xx

Blondiebrownie6 · 02/10/2021 19:33

So annoying when that happened with takeout @Snoopy28x

Oh no sorry to hear that! Just keep an eye on things and see how it goes? Maybe ring EPU if you have anymore ? I’m sure with your previous MCs they’d get you in for a reassurance scan to check everything over for you? These early weeks are so hard waiting and wondering and then even worse with previous losses. I hope it’s all ok for you! Good on you for studying btw! I’ve been a write off today, works been a lot this week so maybe that’s just wiped me out xx

Yes nausea’s a good sign apparently as it indicates your body’s producing the high amounts of progesterone and other hormones the baby needs to grow.
I booked the scan privately, mostly for reassurance as I have stage 4 endometriosis and had a lap&dye in July, making me high risk for ectopic. With my first child 6 years ago I had several early scans on the NHS (at EPU) due to a ruptured cyst that caused a lot of pain. I asked midwife today about spotting as I had some pink spotting the other week; she said it’s normal for many women and only to worry if it’s bright red, heavy or has clots. They can see the baby, yolk sac, fetal pole, heartbeat and the ovary that you ovulated from (with blastocyst) from around 6 weeks if they do an internal scan. I asked for an internal as there was no way I’d keep the required water down! The images were surprisingly clear and she measured its growth etc.

Speaking of which, anyone have any tips about nausea? I read that its usually at its worst between 8-11weeks, I'm only 6+4 but if it gets much worse I'm going to have my head in a bucket all day long

Ice lollies help me. I’m also on anti sickness meds (ondansetron and metaclopramide) as had HG in my first pregnancy and this one seems to be heading the same way. Apparently when the placenta takes over from the yolk sac around 15 weeks the nausea and vomiting ease up (or improve) for most people. I try to eat very small amounts, lie flat when I feel sick and carry sick bags everywhere with me!

Snoopy28x · 02/10/2021 20:20

@Blondiebrownie6 thank you for your reply x

I think I will just wait and see what happens. I guess nothing can be done either way. If it's meant to be it will. I will try and not stress to much. Although makes me keep going to check..! However nothing since.

Yeah it's been quite a week. I've got a lot of studying and revision to fit in the next 2 weeks. Plus 2 evening classes a week the next few weeks. Yawn. I feel exhausted thinking about it lol xx

Tofu35 · 02/10/2021 20:20

@lemonadee yes come join the breakfast belvita gang with me and @blondiebrownie6! I'm also having really dry pretzels (like supermarket own brand ones) and mint humbugs. Think I read someone saying hard boiled sweets are good because it means you're always producing saliva and that helps with nausea. I'll maybe buy some seasickness bands next week!

Told mum today, she gave me a wee hug and said congratulations. Then told me how she had "super smell" when she was pregnant with me, so let's see if that's coming up for me over the next few weeks!

Snoopy28x · 02/10/2021 20:24

@Blondiebrownie6 I meant to say I still have my pregnancy symptoms. My boobs are huge today and feel hot?!? My nipples are so sore to. Like so sore! X

Blondiebrownie6 · 02/10/2021 20:50

Oh I know @Snoopy28x totally get that , still tough though. Hopefully it’s just a wee bit of spotting and it’s everything just moving/growing. Yer I bet you are checking every time :( well the sore boobs/nipples is a good sign, so yay to that lol! Mine are feeling the same , my nipples have eased mind but look huge , it’s really quite off putting with smaller boobs 🤣 oh wow you have a busy few weeks ahead! You’ll be shattered!

@Tofu35 the biscuits have been great so thanks for the tip! They’re plain with just the right amount of sweetness so hit the spot! I keep really fancying something , eat it , then the thought of it makes me feel sick :/ such strange eating habits. I actually had some Ritz crackers earlier which also helped. Aww that’s lovely you told your mum, always nice to have your mum to confide in on this journey to :) I live apart from my mum so I’m trying to hold off until I go back in 4 weeks so I can tell her face to face this time but I’m not sure I can hold Out that long lol. You never know, could have similar symptoms. How have you been feeling? Xx

Tofu35 · 02/10/2021 21:06

Yesterday evening was pretty rough @blondiebrownie6, my nausea last week was contained to lunchtime so I was back to "normal" after dinner, but yesterday it was relentless until I went to sleep. Had my first "I feel like total shit" self-pity cry in the toilets, but today it's back to "normal" lunchtime ills. @snoopy28x My boobs are HUGE (thinking of that yesterday also made me feel sick, it was a delicate time for me!). Thinking I might need to up a bra size already!

Snoopy28x · 03/10/2021 09:07

So I've got mild, just sort of niggling crampy feelings.. I think. I'm now over thinking every symptom. I've had no more spotting since that one time yesterday. Hopefully that stays that way. Obviously I've been googling.. and most times it is normal and things turn out fine. It's going to be a nervous few weeks now xx

Snoopy28x · 03/10/2021 10:23

Omg I feel so queasy today!!!! Off to watch my nephew play football in an hour. Then out for lunch with family.. this could be fun 😬

Tofu35 · 03/10/2021 10:31

@snoopy28x take snacks and a bottle of water with you to combat the queasiness! Good luck!!

Snoopy28x · 03/10/2021 10:37

@Tofu35 thank you!! I will do. Least I'll be outside 😬 feel so green lol

Lemonadee · 03/10/2021 12:35

@FateHasRedesignedMost thank you for sharing your experience, I have my booking in appointment tomorrow so I'll mention it to the midwife as I am still bleeding although it's still pink and no pain or clots.

Still very nauseous hope it passes soon. Really gone of Coca-Cola the thought of it makes me wretch 😂. @Tofu35 thank you I will try some belvita in a morning and the hard boiled sweets. I'm also going to try the sea sickness bands too.

For the ladies prescribed ondansetron does this help with the nausea or just stopping you from actually being sick? Xx

charlotte0808 · 03/10/2021 12:58

Hi @Lemonadee hope you don't mind me asking about your bleeding.. I've been having it on and off now for nearly 2 weeks brown light pink few wipes of red had a scan after that said was ok but still spotting today it's light pink. Have they said all is ok for you? Keep telling me it's normal but surely can't be x

Blondiebrownie6 · 03/10/2021 15:51

@Tofu35 I guess feeling those symptoms , as rubbish as it is, must be a good thing that hormones are heading in the right direction :) that’s was me yday! I really felt rubbish and threw up before bed in the end after hours of heaving! A bit better today just need to keep well fed but will beige simple food lol.

Glad there’s no more spotting @Snoopy28x , just keep thinking the cramps are normal and it’s everything moving :) easier said than done I know! Hope the queasiness has settled throughout the day! I keep getting waves , it’s so strange! My OH was like I thought it was only supposed to happen in the morning 🤣 sadly not lol! Xx

Lemonadee · 03/10/2021 16:46

Hi @charlotte0808 I started bleeding light pink/brown on Thursday just a tiny bit when I wiped. I rang the midwife on Thursday evening and she asked me if it was heavy and red like fresh blood or if there was any pain which there wasn't. She told me to ring her back if it got any worse like she'd described. I rang her back on Friday afternoon as it had because a little bit heavier as I noticed there was a little bit in my underwear. For me it was like the very start/ end of a period, but still pinky brown and quite light. She said she would try and get me an appointment with EPU for an early scan but she advised they don't like to scan before 7weeks and that if there was no pain and it wasn't fresh red/heavy it's probably nothing to worry about. She advised me to take another pregnancy test as that's what EPU would probably ask I do, which I did on Friday night and I had the darkest positive line, plus I'm still very nauseous which I can only think would be a good sign. Woke up today still bleeding (pinky coloured) but I've got my booking in appointment tomorrow face to face with the midwife so I'm going to ask her about it again. Hope you're okay. It's so nerve-wracking all the waiting and what goes through your mind. I would say if the scan shows everything's okay and the doctors and midwives say everything is okay then try not to worry, as they'll have seen this day in and day out Xx

Lemonadee · 03/10/2021 16:47

@charlotte0808 how far along are you?

charlotte0808 · 03/10/2021 16:57

Hi @Lemonadee thanks for the reply. Well I thought I was 6+2 Monday just gone as my last period was 14th august but she put me back a few days she said not entirely sure how much. At the scan she said everything was fine we saw a heartbeat and she discharged me from epu I think it was abit too soon as I've had 4 miscarriages I'm always thinking the worse same as us all! I have booked a private scan for Thursday I thought surely I'll be at least 7 weeks by then. Just want to see if it's growing ok. I had light pink discharge today but it's gone brown again now. I did read it could be irritation of the cervix but just second guessing everything xx

Lemonadee · 03/10/2021 17:35

@charlotte0808 are you still having other pregnancy symptoms still? I read that too about irritation of the cervix, my midwife also said it could be residual from implantation bleeding.
