35 weeks tomorrow. I am so freaking uncomfortable! Here are my moans (I will mention to midwife tomorrow as know some of these can mean issues.

  • Feel random itchiness in random parts of body.
  • Can’t sleep often due to calves aching.
  • So lethargic some days can barely do anything.
  • Don’t feel nice/presentable in any outfit.
  • Bags under my eyes from lack of sleep.
  • Have to pee all the goddamn time. Also during the night so contributes to sleep issues.
  • Brain is mush. Can’t remember half the stuff I came here to rant about. Would love someone to join my rant!

@WeAllLikeVindaloo thanks! I've just been madly checking my hospital bag again but otherwise taking it easy.

Hope all goes well today for you ☺️

Bellyrumble · 21/09/2021 10:30

@WeAllLikeVindaloo how did you get on? Hope all okay!! x

WeAllLikeVindaloo · 21/09/2021 11:42

@Bellyrumble

Hello!!

Sorry for the mega late update.

So went in to be induced on Thursday morning, propess induction started at 1130am By around 230pm I was having tightenings which were more than manageable. These stayed the same until around 1130pm. Had paracetamol/morphine to take the edge off and try get some sleep!

Woke up around 230am and things still seemed the same, everyone seemed to be going into labour apart from me 🤦🏼‍♀️ I thought I’d be in for days. 430am things really ramped up, I had some pethadine which took a tiny edge off. I was examined around 530am to which they said “oh yes we’ll be able to break your waters now we’ve just got to wait for a room on delivery”

7am comes and I ask if my partner can come back, they agreed and moved me into a room on delivery. I asked for epidural, they said no there isn’t time, I asked for pethadine and off she went to get it, to come back to me pushing!
My partner still wasn’t there at this point! Didn’t get my pethadine because she told me this baby is coming now.

15minutes of active labour and hardly any pushes, baby arrives safely at 8lb2oz. my partner was stuck in traffic and arrived approx 10minutes after birth! I was in such shock and couldn’t believe that I had done it all by myself.
(Didn’t speak to DP for a good ten minutes!)
So now we have a lovely little 4 day old baby girl.

How is everyone else getting on??

Aozora13 · 21/09/2021 11:56

Congratulations @WeAllLikeVindaloo! So sorry your partner missed the birth though. Hope you’re all getting on well.

I’m sat waiting for a sweep. Bit nervous as haven’t needed one previously but v keen to get this baby out now! Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Bellyrumble · 21/09/2021 19:13

Congratulations @WeAllLikeVindaloo

I’m sorry your partner couldn’t be there for the birth! Well done for doing it all yourself that’s amazing!

Hope you are enjoying your newborn bubble x

anniee8ava · 21/09/2021 19:27

Congratulations @WeAllLikeVindaloo sounds like you did amazing! Hope your enjoying your newborn bubble.

I cannot wait to not be pregnant, the head feels low but im not getting the relief from ribs yet i think hes long 😭 38+3 currently and dd2 was 8.4lb born at 39 weeks so i hope hes not going to be much bigger :/

In the evenings I keep getting strong BH and or pressure/backache but then i go to sleep and it goes. I have heard third babies mess around though...

Aozora13 · 22/09/2021 21:50

@anniee8ava midwife said the same to me about third babies so must be true! No sign of mine yet, although am losing my plug which is delightful plus contractions here and there which never turn into anything.

anniee8ava · 22/09/2021 22:31

Ahh yes im still pregnant too! 38+4 and have my first sweep tomorrow so excited... is that weird🤣 i have been pooping about 4/5 times a day for a week though its starting to get really sore! Oh the joys of late pregnancy.

Do you go to bed and think is tonight the night? Lol I am trying not to be too impatient as it will be better for him to come on his own when he wants but its just so unnerving not knowing when that will be.

heygirlhey · 24/09/2021 02:00

A little update, our girl Ava was born on the 18th ( 39+6) after starting her arrival naturally at 11pm on the 16th she decided that it was too nice inside. After ramping things up to back to back contractions where I got no rest and was only given paracetomol and dihydrocodeine she decided to go back to back and I wouldn't progress post 5cm so it was an induction and epidural after 21 hrs of managing on those drugs and breathing techniques.

Another 12 hrs after that and off we went except she was distressed so they brought in forceps and cut me. Placenta wouldn't budge and had a haemorrhage so was taken to theatre. They got the placenta out and stitched me up. 36 hours in total. More of a long faff than anything as I was relaxed about birth plan so just accepted things as they happened and she got here safe so that was the main thing!!

WeAllLikeVindaloo · 24/09/2021 08:17

@heygirlhey Congratulations on your new arrival! Wow you went through some to get there. I definitely wouldn’t of been as calm as you. You should be very proud of yourself.
Hope your enjoying your first week with your new baby 💖

heygirlhey · 24/09/2021 19:19

Thanks @WeAllLikeVindaloo! It was all abit mental but think my DF suffered more and was pretty traumatised by it all.

So far so good. Tired as have managed to EBF so it's intense as she's a milk monster lol!

anniee8ava · 24/09/2021 23:35

@heygirlhey massive congratulations although sorry to hear you had a bit of a rough time i hope you are recoverong okay. :)

MrsGxx · 25/09/2021 03:06

Oh this thread is the story of my life right now & im only 26+2😬
Already have an 8 year old, second pregnancy and last for me.
I haven’t had a great pregnancy since finding out, diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 11 weeks, constantly out of breath & not feeling great at all, I’ve been practically bed ridden the whole time, I’m suffering with my sleep terribly! I’m awake all night and then take naps throughout the day.
I had covid 3 weeks ago (all better now) but the after effects are popped ears & sound like darth Vader when I breath! & I’m struggling with sleep apnea which I need to see my doctor about.
My blood pressure is always high on exertion even just standing up and going to the toilet I’m so out of breath, I’m at the midwife tomorrow for another BP check it’s just one thing after another. I’m trying to avoid hospital because that’s where I caught covid, on a one night stay for fluids on the maternity ward😬
Sending love to you allFlowers x
