@2020mission yeah big baby, risk of blood loss they think.

I'm getting so pissed off with these people, the gel makes me contract super intensely, literally bent over crying and asked for pain relief 3 times, took an hour for it to finally
Get to me. Their excuse? "Sorry we forgot"
Are you fucking kidding me.

They forgot 😱@Justanothercyster bloody hell wtf!! You need to scream louder so they can't forget, can't believe that!!

@Lexber I'd be very scared too, but think what the midwife is saying seems perfectly reasonable & logical 😘

Haiyaa · 08/11/2021 15:22

Oh dear, baby far too happy you should start playing lots of loud metal music to it and jump up and down to make it less luxurious @Justanothercyster 😂 shit about the pain meds, hope they have at least given you the good stuff after all that. Honestly when I went I’m for my planned section I took my own meds as I knew they would be crap and that was before covid!

Oh no, what’s up @Minster2012? Just worried about the scan? I was convinced they wouldn’t find anything at all of my scans this time around, the losses are always in the back of your mind but try to remember this one S not the same pregnancy and you’ve come so much further already so every reason to expect good news!

That must have been a worry @Lexber but think midwife is probably right. I sometimes get a bit of pink after 🍆 although usually straight after, not a couple of days after, so you must have a super sensitive cervix - or DH has done an extra thorough job 😂

Lexber · 08/11/2021 18:17

Oh @Justanothercyster bless you, that's a little unfair! I hope things are better now? Hopefully in labour by now.. not long now! Xx

@Minster2012 hope you are ok?

@Haiyaa I have joked to OH it was his massive penis.. which he took pride in 🤣 I did say to him that it had felt different and TMI he felt bigger and it went deeper.. slightly uncomfortable from behind so I wondered if it was the changes in my cervix? And I've been a little crampy since on/off nothing too major but just sight cramps.
It does seem to have stopped which is a relief as I was worried as never had a bleed in my previous pregnancies so new to me!

DKDK123 · 08/11/2021 18:23

@Justanothercyster glad to hear baby's comfy and doing well even if it's not cooperating with the coming out part. If a c section is looking likely quick go poop now! 😂 I still have the fear after that first post section toilet trip 😵

@2020mission, hope they can put your mind at ease at your next appointment. Rubbish that it's such a long wait, we'll be here in any way we can.

@minster2012 sending all the hugs in the world, I know how hard the pre scan anxiety is and how impossible it is to shake off those negative thoughts. I saw this post today and thought of you 💕 (just ignore the last sentence as this IS your time to keep your baby).

@lexber you must have gotten a fright. Glad your midwife was on hand with advice, I have heard of sex irritating the cervix during pregnancy. Hope you're feeling a bit better now.

Minster2012 · 08/11/2021 18:42

@DKDK123 thank you so much 😊

The things you learn here eh? Pooping before a c section eh? Noted

@Lexber def sounds like some kind of changes then, not just DH getting bigger 😉thank you, just had a down day Monday Blue's I seem to get really bad fear I'm not sure why @Haiyaa maybe it's the signalling of the new week but I don't know if "it is a new week" as in everything ok 😔

@2020mission surely if they were worried they'd have you in before 3 weeks

2020mission · 08/11/2021 18:46

@DKDK123 I always thought it was only scary having a post vaginal birth 💩 and wouldn't be that bad after a c section as it's further away 😅 Thanks for the support, I'm trying to keep calm and hoping that the fact they are leaving me for weeks means it can't be too serious to them. I've heard I need to get an ambulance ASAP if my waters do break because it's dangerous with the extra fluid. Someone said get down on the floor and ass in the air to stop the cord dropping out if that happens 😟 how are you getting on?

@Minster2012 aww it's so hard but that's another day almost gone and so a day closer to the scan now! Will be such a good milestone once you've been and hopefully see all is well 💕

@Lexber I had a light bleed for a few days around 7 weeks and was told it's likely due to a sensitive cervix, so I believe that!

DKDK123 · 08/11/2021 19:02

@2020mission post c section poop was worse than the pain of the ripped open abdomen and definitely not something I was prepared for 🙈 It can take a few days to go after your c section because they push all your insides around and it takes a while for everything to settle making your digestion all sluggish. And you have no control over your internal muscles as half are still numb half are screaming in pain when you try to use them so you cant actually push so to speak to get it out as your stomach tenses and when you do get some form of movement it feels like every one of your stitches are about to rip open. It no joke took over an hour and lots of tears for that first bm and that was even with daily laxatives they gave me from straight after the section. I already mega have the fear as I know this one's a c section baby too. I'm eating all the prunes in the world the week before and making sure I'm 100% cleared out 😂

2020mission · 08/11/2021 19:05

@DKDK123 ahh never even considered that the disruption from them rummaging around in there would impact it but that makes sense! Ok so that's one perk of a c section gone 😅

DKDK123 · 08/11/2021 19:09

@2020mission I don't think there is any nice way to get a baby out vaginally or section, mother nature just hates us women it's fact! But those little screaming and shitting machines we get to keep at the end of it all are still worth it 🥰

feliznavidad2 · 08/11/2021 19:12

I'd never thought of that either @DKDK123 🤔 and there goes my plan of an ELCS being the dream 😆

Hope you're all ok; I'm reading but not writing much. Plodding on until private scan which is still ages away(!) x

DKDK123 · 08/11/2021 19:18

@feliznavidad2 don't forget to add the feeling of being ripped open again every time you sneeze, cough or laugh for up to about 4 weeks afterwards! 😣 I blame the 'too posh to push celebs' making it seem like an easy option, it's definitely not fun, ok for them as they have nannies and people running about after them so they can just rest and heal, us commoners need to get up and get on with things after being sliced open. But pushing a baby out of a small hole is also not a fun sounding option.....as I said mother nature clealry hates us women! How long now till your scan?

feliznavidad2 · 08/11/2021 19:24

@DKDK123 Oh crikey, when you put it like that...

8 week (ish) private scan is booked for 3 weeks today. 😬 I'm bloated AF and a bit tired but that's it.

DKDK123 · 08/11/2021 19:31

@feliznavidad2 bloated and tired are good signs for this stage 😊

feliznavidad2 · 08/11/2021 19:38

Thanks lovely @DKDK123

Lexber · 08/11/2021 20:55

I am def taking that poop note down @DKDK123 because my chance of a section has increased ten folds now!!

After 2 very lovely active and enjoyable (yes I am weird) natural births I'm petrified of this one - being 2 I think I will be needing an epidural as both will need monitoring throughout as I want to try for a natural if possible but obv need to be ready for a section if needed.

lucyrp · 08/11/2021 21:42

@Lexber not weird at all. I would also say I enjoyed both of my births🥰

Kate105 · 08/11/2021 22:24

Can I just add to the shit chat that my post C section movements were bliss compared to the crippling constipation I had all the way through pregnancy! So not always bad 😂

Thinking of you @Justanothercyster my induction ended in C section and it was grand, don't worry if that's where you end up xxx

DKDK123 · 09/11/2021 07:01

@kate105 you're giving me hope then for my next one, maybe my last one was a one off as I have a high pain threshold but it's genuinely given me the fear!🤞 Or maybe it was because I was under a general wonder if that effects the digestive system more as my bladder didn't work properly when they took the catheter out and I had to have it back in for another 24 hours as it refused to work even tho I was bursting 🤔.

Minster2012 · 09/11/2021 08:53

From what you are all saying there's basically no good way to give birth 😂but least it gets the right result 🤣

Lexber · 09/11/2021 09:16

@Minster2012 I absolutely loved having my 2nd I went face down into a giant bean bag with gas and air and met my midwife after the birth 🤣🤣🤣 she walked in and I waved at her without looking as I was so comfy in the bean bag!!
I was hoping a similar 3rd birth but I think it's going to be a monitored birth being 2 if not a section so a completely different experience to the other 2.
But I will embrace it all the same - I hope! Lol

bez91 · 09/11/2021 09:17

@DKDK123 never thought about that with a section and your organs! I actually 💩 during labour 🙄 consultant (episiotomy) wasn't phased 😂
Yes I agree neither is the dream, I wouldn't say I loved the birth but I didn't hate it 😆

Gem176 · 09/11/2021 09:42

I'm with @Kate105 on the shit chat, post c section was an absolute dream after a whole pregnancy of crippling constipation.... Both times! Probably didn't hurt that I took a massive dose of laxido a few days before as yet again I was sat on the loo crying because I couldn't go and hadn't for at least a week before 🙈 pregnancy and the ability to poop do not mix for me!

@DKDK123 I think you are right and there is something about general anaesthetic mucking with things more than a spinal or an epidural. Sorry you had a rubbish section experience, I can honestly say both of mine were great, especially Katie's as it was a proper planned one and not a planned one that became an emergency as I went into labour early. Hopefully it will be the same for you this time round 🤞🏻🤞🏻 They also let me out after 24 hours and I think that made a HUGE difference as I actually got some sleep and was comfortable at home! I know it's major surgery and some people really have a rough time with it but I was very lucky with both and recovered very quickly. I was slow but no real pain other than the day I went home and that was purely because I missed my diclofenac on the journey. I can remember being on the ward after my first and another woman was a few hours ahead of me in post section recovery and she was really struggling and in pain. I genuinely saw and heard her and thought "wtf have I done, I'm about to be in agony" but it never happened 😅 a crash emergency after a full labour really batters your body though and would be so hard to recover from 😔
Agree 100% that Mother Nature hates us as neither exit route is very appealing on paper but we get through both and lots of us do it repeatedly so those wee shitting machines are very powerful motivators!

@feliznavidad2 bloated is definitely good, I was so so bloated early on that my SIL was constantly joking that it had to be twins as I was getting a belly already but nope just bloat followed by much constipation 🤣 that's no fun so I hope it's just bloating for you and you dodge that horror!

@Minster2012 hoping you have a terrific Tuesday, a wonderful Wednesday and a tremendous Thursday after your blue Monday 🥰 random thought popped into my head, if your 12 week scan is this week does that mean conception was roughly 10 weeks ago? If so it's possible your beautiful bean was conceived the day mine was born.... I quite like that thought, like a pregnancy torch that gets passed along 😊

@Justanothercyster forgot??!! Forgot what exactly? To do their job?? I'd be on that buzzer and a right PITA until my pain was effectively managed! Hope you are doing ok today! If it is a section, in my experience it wasn't bad at all, hope you have a squishy newborn soon!

@Lexber you are so much nicer than me, one night I got sick of the very timid sex and just flat out said "I'm not being funny but nobody has a dick big enough to poke a baby so either do it properly or just forget it" 🙈 hormones have a lot to answer for!! Pretty sure we had a bus title inspired by my question re average penis length V average vagina length meaning willies tend to be poking cervix when doing the horizontal tango 🤣 hope the midwife put your mind at ease, they are angels for that!

@Haiyaa after a few horror stories on here o took my own pain meds in for my section too but thankfully i didn't need them as they dished out the good stuff from the get go. I lucked out with a good hospital but understand quite a few aren't as good ☹️

2020mission · 09/11/2021 09:44

Enjoyable births? No pain can be enjoyable surely 😅 I'm guessing those who have enjoyed their births were lucky and escaped any vaginal tears etc? I completely get the very end when the baby is handed to you, that must feel amazing but everything in the run up can't be great.

Justanothercyster · 09/11/2021 10:14

I cried with relief this morning lol. The balloon catheter did the job and am now 2cm dilated, they managed to break my waters 🙏🏻
Finally. Something happening! I'm exhausted beyond belief, I just couldn't have done it for much longer.
Thanks for your support ladies.
