Hi all,

My diet this pregnancy has been absolutely awful, just been eating a lot of carbs and sugar so I'm going to start fresh tomorrow and try to eat a bit healthier.

Today, on my (hopefully) last day of unhealthy eating i've had:
Breakfast : choc croissant and a decaf mocha
Lunch: Pasta with prawns
Snack: Lindor chocolate, a double chocolate chip cookie and some strawberry laces
Dinner will be takeaway of some sort, either pizza or chinese!

What have you all been eating? And if you have any healthy recipe ideas please share!

Breakfast: 2 slices of grant toast, one marmite, one peanut butter & tea
Lunch: homemade chicken and veg soup & an apple
Snack: 5 chocolates from an M&S chocolate box
Dinner: tuna salad with a boiled egg, pitta bread, nectarine, handful of cherries, strawberries & blueberries, 1 square of Lindt dark chocolate

I am obsessed with fruit. I get through punnets of berries a week

BaaBaaEmily · 26/08/2021 08:43

I'm 8+3 so in the throes of only wanting carbs 😂 I ate terribly yesterday:

Breakfast - sausage, bacon, hash brown, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, scrambled egg, sourdough, decaf cortado, apple juice
Lunch - cheese and onion crisps, tiramisu
Tea - beef and porcini mushroom pasta
Snack - strawberries, twirl

Hoping today will be better although I've already started off with Nutella on toast

MrsArrison · 26/08/2021 08:45

All my 8 week embryo wants to eat is cheeseburgers!

I had a gastric bypass last year and have been unable to manage bread in any form since, but pregnancy has changed that overnight and now I'm hoovering up toast like there's no tomorrow. Yesterday's food was:

Breakfast:
Decaff latte with collagen protein
Half a banana
1 small slice wholemeal toast

Morning snack:
Half a banana
1 small slice wholemeal toast

Lunch:
2 slices leftover roast chicken and a small plain Greek yoghurt

Dinner:
Homemade Chinese curry

Evening snack:
Weetabix minis & BOB milk

My portions are really small because of the bypass, so I average around 1100 calories a day since falling pregnant. As much as I'm craving the cheeseburgers (yes, had 3 this week already!) I need to lay off them as they take up too much room in my stomach and then I can't anything remotely nutritious afterwards!

I do think it’s important in the first trimester to do what gets you through and don’t stress. Luckily I was okay with citrus fruit so that was my healthy thing until sickness eased off at 16 weeks but other than that I just ate what I could stomach day to day, which was hardly anything most days.

Good intentions today but husband made me croissants and tea and brought them to me in bed. Couldn’t say no to that could I?!

Scirocco · 26/08/2021 20:18

Breakfast: half a vanilla flapjack, orange juice.
Lunch: mozzarella salad wrap, an apple, the other half of the flapjack.
Snack: small clementine.
Dinner: baked beans, steamed veg and new potatoes.

Feel like I did quite ok today!

Msfoxy17 · 26/08/2021 20:31

I'm finding this thread quite reassuring! 13.5 weeks and starting to have a more 'normal' diet after weeks and weeks of only really wanting to constantly snack- on toast, crisps, sweet stuff, fruit. Really went off meant/fish/egg/anything fried and evening meals in particular!

Today I've had:
Breakfast - 2 slices rye toast with butter and marmite plus my one coffee of the day, with milk
Snack - bit of a cucumber my DC left plus half banana and a few blackberries from garden
Lunch- pesto chicken lattice from Caffè Nero. Delicious but somewhat fatty!
A few more blackberries from garden plus some Pom bears from DC.
Dinner - leftover orzo and veg stuffed aubergine I made last night but couldn't stomach for some reason (evening meals still being a bit hit and miss)
Dp brought me home some chocolate but I've brushed my teeth now and will most likely resist as am in bed!

Pitstop1986 · 26/08/2021 21:12

I forgot to mention yesterday, I'm 20+6

Today I've had:
Breakfast: Weetabix minis with semi skimmed milk, tea
Lunch: Baked beans on 2 slices toast
Snack: blueberries, raspberries and Greek yogurt, 2 chocolate biscuits and a toffee
Dinner: Takeaway chicken kebab
Pudding: Mars bar

I figured that the kebab was healthy, after all it was just chicken breast, salad and a pitta. DH wanted a takeaway and I wanted a huge wad of protein. That's the best that I could think of. It was delicious, regardless of how healthy/unhealthy it was 🙂😋

Maighread · 26/08/2021 21:17

I'm 11w and the nausea is ropey but I'm slowly branching out to veg again. veg turned my stomach up until a few days ago but had a homemade spag bol with loads of veggies... and then I had a bowl of coco pops :D - my food preferences aren't great but I'm trying to stick to wholemeal in the vain hopes it makes a difference

HopefulRose · 26/08/2021 21:29

Breakfast
Lucky charms with semi-skimmed milk

Snack
Clementine

Lunch
Yorkshire Provender veg soup

Dinner (this is when I went off piste!)
McDonald’s

Evening snack
Apple
Small Greek yogurt

Feel so much better today, nausea seems to be subsiding. Managed a long walk after work.

coffeewithmilk · 26/08/2021 21:48

I've had a somewhat better day today;

Breakfast: small bowl of Kellogg's granola with milk, and a whole meal bagel with butter, cup of tea

Snack: orange

Lunch: brown flatbread with tuna mayonnaise

Snack: handful of nuts & 2 glasses of milk (can't get enough of the stuff at the moment!)

Dinner; chicken curry with basmati rice, poppadom.

Lots of water and 3x 20 min dog walks.

Will be 17 weeks tomorrow 😊

bubblepond · 26/08/2021 21:50

Today after a night of vomiting and nausea - first day off sick from work in a long time :(

Breakfast - Frosties, 2 ginger biscuits

Snack - ready salted crisps

Lunch - plain linguine and a bit of grated cheese

Afternoon snack - Frosties

Dinner - plain linguine and a bit of grated cheese

Then DH came home with a wrap from McDonald's for his dinner, I ate a little bit of his and decided I would be able to stomach one so he drove me back to McDonald's and waited in the 30 minute drive-thru queue to get one 🥺

All very small portions, today has been the worst sickness day yet and not sure if I'm already regretting the wrap!
Usually I have such a varied diet with lots of home cooked food and veg and I just can't wait to get back to that, beginning to get really fed up of the all day nausea

Seeing your diets here later in pregnancy is giving me hope!

shas19 · 26/08/2021 22:22

I have covid so have no taste or smell, today consisted of, 2 slices of toast with honey and butter with an orange, extra hot peri peri chicken wrap with a mango smoothie and some grapes, homemade chicken soup and crusty bread. No appetite today really, just eating for fuel

teaandcrumpets35 · 26/08/2021 22:25

Lunch:
Open panini with pepper, hummus, avocado and halloumi

Dinner:
Homemade burger with homemade wedges

Snacks:
Bakewell tart (craving!)

I've been eating non stop since about 11 weeks and it's getting worse. I feel like I'm always hungry or wanting to eat. Have definitely put on more weight than I should've done!

Also reading what everyone has been eating is making me hungry and even crave things slightly Grin

bethabean · 26/08/2021 23:31

Oh another snack I forgot:

Breadsticks and Philadelphia

Scirocco · 27/08/2021 21:16

Breakfast: Nothing (couldn't face anything)
Lunch: sweet and sour veg, apple
Dinner: quorn with green veg
Snack: chocolate milkshake in front of the tv

thingymaboob · 27/08/2021 21:22

Breakfast: poached eggs on wholemeal
Brownie
Lunch: falafel with hummus and pitta
Dinner: bowl of shreddies which I threw up

I have Hyperemesis and at 16 weeks I'm unable to eat anything past about 5pm without vomiting. Vomit all evening. Most evenings.

Pitstop1986 · 27/08/2021 22:36

I had a very "hungry" day today. Just wanted to eat!
Breakfast: Nutella on toast and an apple
Late morning: protein milkshake made with a scoop vegan protein powder, a banana, cacao powder and oat milk
Lunch: ham salad sandwich and carrot sticks
Snack: cup of tea and a couple of digestive biscuits
Dinner: steak, new potatoes, veg and peppercorn sauce
Dessert: 2 pieces of brownie, then an apple, to stop me cutting another piece of brownie 😂 I made some as a treat for DH as they are his favourite, there's not much left. I could have quite happily wolfed the lot!

Pac35 · 31/10/2021 10:42

Pitstop1986 · 31/10/2021 11:27
