Hi all,

My diet this pregnancy has been absolutely awful, just been eating a lot of carbs and sugar so I'm going to start fresh tomorrow and try to eat a bit healthier.

Today, on my (hopefully) last day of unhealthy eating i've had:
Breakfast : choc croissant and a decaf mocha
Lunch: Pasta with prawns
Snack: Lindor chocolate, a double chocolate chip cookie and some strawberry laces
Dinner will be takeaway of some sort, either pizza or chinese!

What have you all been eating? And if you have any healthy recipe ideas please share!

Hey,

It's so hard isn't it. Your diet doesn't look too much quantity wise maybe just a bit sweet.

I've been really nauseous, it comes in waves when I get hungry, so I'm basically eating to keep away the sickness. I'm trying to keep it healthy but it's just too much 😅

  • 3 weetabix with raisins
  • 2 croissants
  • An apple, orange and cup of cashews
  • A jacket potato with beans and cheese
  • A bowl of bran flakes
  • A tin of pears
  • Dinner- pasta and veggie meatballs

Apart from anything else it's distracting having to break off to eat all the time.
How far along are you? I'm 10+5 so hoping to start feeling less sick soon.

Pitstop1986 · 25/08/2021 20:29

Breakfast (at 5am as I woke up starving hungry and couldn't get back to sleep) chocolate overnight oats made with half of a banana, a tablespoon of cacao powder and oat milk, blended together and mixed with oats and then a banana.
Went back to bed, had a decaf coconut latte and a digestive biscuit when I woke up again.
Lunch was a roast chicken and salad wrap and an apple.
I snacked on some nuts
Dinner was a small portion of spaghetti Bolognese followed by a pear

I've got a mars bar in the fridge for a treat tonight 😋

thingymaboob · 25/08/2021 20:34

I have HG but am eating more, although still vomiting a fair amount at 15 weeks.

Breakfast: shreddies and oat milk
Snack: ready salted crisps
Lunch: M & S chicken and sweet corn sandwich
Snack: salt and vinegar squares.
Dinner: scrambled egg with mushrooms on sourdough toast.

I have vomited this evening, as usual. The crisps are mainly for medicinal purposes

thingymaboob · 25/08/2021 20:34

@momo20 you've got me thinking (craving) about strawberry laces now!

aConcernedPrude · 25/08/2021 20:38

@Pitstop1986 so glad to see someone else enjoys their Mars refrigerated Grin

Can't beat it!

Scirocco · 25/08/2021 20:42

Today I had...
Granola with oat milk for breakfast.
Pasta (plain with a bit of cheese on it) for lunch. (couldn't face anything else).
Handful of cranberries and raspberries for a snack.
Vegan sausage, carrots and broccoli for dinner.
I've a mint Aero with my name on it for later...

So yeah, not very healthy today.

ButFirstTea · 25/08/2021 20:48

Today I had

Breakfast: seeded toast with peanut butter
Lunch: pitta with halloumi and salad, plus some crisps
Tea: satay veggie mince wraps (Gousto recipe!)
Snacks: glazed doughnut, ice pop

Doesn't sound too bad but we did get a dominos on Monday night Grin

My appetite is really up and down, some days I'll manage meals and snacks and some days it'll be breakfast and then a few crackers and nothing else. I'm 14+5 today!

Mindyourbusiness22 · 25/08/2021 20:50

Oh don’t get me started I just want to eat everything right now!

Today;

Fruit and fibre cereal
Slice of wholemeal toast with raspberry jam
Fry’s mint cream chocolate 9 squares, almost passed out when I realised 3 squares = 120 caps 🤣
Thins bagel with rocket, ham, cucumber, toms and some Mayo
Jelly pot
Two dark choc digestive biscuits
Packet of wotsits
Thai beef mince stir fry
Teaspoon of twix spread
Chocolate mousse pot…
Someone tape my mouth up!!

2020mission · 25/08/2021 20:57

Definitely go easy on yourselves if you're in the first trimester with nausea/sickness! The priority is keeping hydrated and eating what you can.

I'm in the second trimester now so finding it a bit easier to be good. Today for me was:

Breakfast:

  • Bran flakes with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and oat milk

Morning snack:

  • Apple

Lunch:

  • Chipotle chicken sandwich on wholemeal bread with avocado and sliced tomato
  • Orange juice

Afternoon snack:

  • Chocolate freddo 😅

Dinner:

  • Green thai curry with chickpeas and green beans
  • Rice

Supper/evening snack:

  • Wholemeal toast and marmite
  • Handful of blueberries
  • Small selection of almond, walnut, Brazil nuts
2020mission · 25/08/2021 20:59

@thingymaboob I couldn't stop eating ready salted crisps in the first trimester with the nausea too!

One thing I was good at in the first trimester was avoiding coffee and sweet treats but come the second trimester my taste for them are back so I've been having my lattes again (decaf) and chocolates 🤣 so not all good when the appetite is back.

thingymaboob · 25/08/2021 21:12

@2020mission coffee and chocolate are an absolute no no. Guarantee vomiting fest!

cactijones · 25/08/2021 21:22

It would take me too long to write what I've eaten today. Ifs an embarrassing amount. 26 weeks and constantly starving

coffeewithmilk · 25/08/2021 21:28

I've had a bad day today.. I work up absolutely starving and nothing seemed to help at all.
I actually feel slightly disgusted with how much/how unhealthy I've eaten.

-slice of toast with butter
-decaf latte with chocolate crossaint
-tea and a small cake

  • cheese and tomato sandwich with a few chips on the side
-can of coke and a packet of crisps -risotto with mushrooms and peas -3 crackers with cheese -cup of tea and two small angel cake fingers

I'm 17 weeks.. if I keep going this way I'll be as big as a house, but I don't usually eat this bad.. I usually have lots of fruit but today was just an off day.
Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

To add I had 2x 30min walks too so at least I got some exercise in

ActonBell · 25/08/2021 21:36

I think I’m about 1/3 biscuit by now. I was so sick from 5 to 16 weeks and since then have had loads of complications that have made everything really stressful so healthy eating has taken a back seat.

Today (23 weeks):
Bran flakes
Banana
Cheese and tomato roll
Custard tart
Grapes
Rice cakes
Vegetable curry with brown rice
Cornflakes with sugar
Drinks - decaf tea, water, a glass of orange juice

StillUpholding · 25/08/2021 21:37

So glad to see I’m not alone! I’m 20 weeks and the nausea seems to be here for the long haul. Only eating helps. I’ve been piling on the weight and have decided I need to make an effort to improve things. Today has been a little bit better.

Breakfast - chocolate cereal with strawberries

Lunch - beans on wholemeal toast

Snack - made a decent hole in a bag of Doritos with sour cream dip (current craving)

Dinner - pesto pasta with chicken, peppers, courgette, mushroom and grated cheese

Finished off with a gu chocolate pot

Ughmaybenot · 25/08/2021 21:38

29 weeks here and, apart from a week long (cruel!!) reprieve, being sick every day, after most meals, but yet to be put off of anything in particular Grin
Breakfast; strawberries, blueberries, watermelon chunks and raspberries with some natural yoghurt
Healthy until I had a caramel waffle thing and a latte on the side 😂
Lunch; two ham, lettuce and cucumber mini wraps, an apple, a strawberry yoghurt and a Gold bar… then a packet of crisps 🤦🏼‍♀️
Dinner; chicken and bacon pasta bake with salad, and a mini Lidl rip-off solero for afters

Just feeling like I want alllll the carbs right now. And I’m constantly thirsty so pints and pints of water consumed.

If you can stomach milk it’s ideal for thirst, hydrates you more than water.
Ughmaybenot · 25/08/2021 21:43

Sadly @Mindyourbusiness22 I told a slight fib saying I’d not been put off anything… vomiting milk is an experience I absolutely would like to avoid, which is a bloody shame given your post!! These things are sent to try us.

Pitstop1986 · 25/08/2021 22:08

Well, my mars bar evening snack is untouched in the fridge.

I decided to be healthy with a bowl of blueberries, raspberries and low fat natural yogurt.

But then DH brought out a bag of milkybar buttons which we've shared.

I'll have the mars bar tomorrow

Grasshopper90 · 25/08/2021 22:10

I’m 24 weeks and eating almost normally again. Today was:

Breakfast: Muesli with oat milk and a banana

Lunch: Three slices of granary toast with baked beans and cheese, melted under the grill

Snack: Nectarine, chocolate and peanut Kind bar

Dinner: Veggie pasta with Parmesan

Pitstop1986 · 25/08/2021 22:13

@aConcernedPrude All chocolate tastes better in the fridge, apart from twixes, double deckers and toffee crisps- they go too hard.

I also like to put the mini mars bars from celebrations in the freezer and suck on them. As a bonus, they last much longer that way!

bubblepond · 25/08/2021 22:16

Today

Breakfast: 1 slice toast with jam, a mr Kipling apple pie, ready salted crisps
Snack: mini cheddars
Lunch: lasagne, which I promptly saw again 🤢
Snack: mini cheddars
Dinner: a few oven chips and gravy

Week 9 and struggling! I normally never eat crisps but they seem to be the best snack at the moment

HopefulRose · 25/08/2021 23:20

@momo20 I love this idea for a thread.

Breakfast
Handful of Lucky Charms pre-dog walk

Second breakfast
Two croissants with bit of butter (frozen ones you cook at home would 100 per cent recommend)

Lunch
Boiled egg with soldiers (panic until I realised eggs were red lion)

Snacks
Banana
Salt and vinegar chipsticks
Ice lolly
Oreo ice cream

Dinner
Sausages, chips and baked beans (a meal I legit haven’t had since I was at school)

Pre-bedtime-fighting-off-nausea-snack
Two digestive biscuits

Total calories 2,455 😬

It is wild to me how much my diet has changed since becoming pregnant. I hadn’t eaten bread since Christmas and now it’s one of the only things I can stomach. I also never eat breakfast. Now I’m eating all the bloody time to get rid of the nausea. Hoping it tails off in a few weeks.

sociallydistained · 25/08/2021 23:47

I’d be too embarrassed to say. I’ll try again tomorrow 😭

(18 weeks pregnant)

momo20 · 26/08/2021 06:34

I'm 15 weeks today so I can't use the first trimester nausea excuse to keep eating anymore! I had food intentions to be healthy today, but I've been thinking about this chocolate doughnut my local bakery makes all night! I suppose I could have that for breakfast and try and be healthier throughout the day... 🤭
