@AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken It worries me a bit how different trusts say different things 😕 like how an one trust say to you you need scans every two weeks now and to me I’m ok and don’t need another or to be induced early when it sounds we are pretty similar with how we’re are with our GD.

That dinner sounds lovely 😍 such a good idea too!! I love picky things like that!

I’m having a day where I just can’t stop thinking of all the things I can’t eat!! Really craving alll the chocolate!!

Yes I’m so over food now. I’m bored of everything and forcing myself to eat breakfast and lunch now.

I think I’m at the point where I’d be happy to take my nutrients in pill form and not bother with bleeding salad and yogurt and chicken.

So the ploughman’s was a particularly happy evening for me 🤣

Evening meals aren’t too bad. I have the same as my family but double the veg and have less than half the carbs.

I made chicken, leek, mushroom and bacon pie tonight. I only had the pie lid then had peas and broccoli and no mash. I had a very tiny portion of trifle (same size as my two year old son’s) and got a reading of 6.8.

CherLW · 18/08/2021 20:35

@Scotti84 I’m not sure when they decide to give a drip if you have an induction over here.
I think if I have to be induced and I end up having the drip to progress things then I’ll opt for an epidural also.

@CherLW, I agree that it is strange how different trusts say different things and we are advised differently even though we have similar GD journeys. I'm trying not to worry about the last two weeks when I don't have anymore monitoring but it isn't easy 😒

CherLW · 18/08/2021 21:18

@AdventuresAwait do you mean worrying about the GD monitoring as we aren’t having anyone to check it?
I keep thinking ‘oh I’ll have that’ as nothing is being checked anymore and it’s over the 36 week mark now. I know I shouldn’t think this way but I’m really struggling with even wanting to eat now! I love food, always have and now I don’t even enjoy it

OP posts:
AdventuresAwait · 18/08/2021 21:30

@CherLW, yes, not knowing what's happening with baby as no further growth scans etc.
I'm doing the same... thinking I can eat something I haven't had up till now even though I've got two weeks left! But trying to be good. Not long to go.

CherLW · 18/08/2021 21:35

@AdventuresAwait I wish they would offer us another growth scan.. how can they possibly know all is ok without them. It’s making me think should I phone someone but I don’t really know who 😕

We’ve done so well so far it will be a shame to ruin it so close to the end. I’m just thinking how good those things I can’t wait to eat are going to taste when baby is here! X

OP posts:
AdventuresAwait · 18/08/2021 22:07

@CherLW that's a good way to think of it, that we can soon enjoy it all again!
I know, I keep thinking that I've got to trust that they didn't need to see me again and they know what they're doing. I just want to know how she's doing in there! Still monitoring my bloods and they're happy with those so going to do all I can to keep those as good as possible.

It's so close now... exciting!

GWhiteley · 18/08/2021 22:35

Had my last growth scan & consultant app today & they're happy that her growth is within the average parameters & that I've been doing well with my food (soo bored of the few dinners I can eat though) so we've agreed for me to be induced on the 1st sept if she hasn't come naturally by then. Fingers crossed she doesn't🤞🏻as happy with the date I've been given.
Glad to know that she's doing ok & that the meals that have for whatever reason taken me over haven't affected her as much as I thought they would.

Sorry to hear some of you are feeling a bit crap about things, not going to lie the food situation is getting me down a bit, but having an end in sight does make a difference. Sending mental hugs to those of you struggling

AdventuresAwait · 18/08/2021 23:06

That's great @GWhiteley. Glad all is good and you can go to 1st September xx

CherLW · 18/08/2021 23:37

Excellent news @GWhiteley 😊. I have an appointment with the consultant on the 1st to see what’s going on if he’s not already here and then they will decide from then. I hate all this difference between trusts! Especially as both you and I have the same due date!!

OP posts:
GWhiteley · 19/08/2021 06:39

@CherLW the consultant was adamant at both appointments that I can't go past the third. I think ideally they wanted the 30th or 31st but i stuck to the 1st. The one from yesterday thought my reason for the 1st was quite funny, what's funny about wanting to give your child the best possible chance at life if you're able?!

I do think the whole trust to trust differences are weird & should be standardised like school curriculum.

CherLW · 19/08/2021 09:16

@GWhiteley I’ve seen the same consultant both times and he’s never really said anything 😕 now I just need to go in on the 1st and see again. I’m the same, I want him to be born in September if I have any choice in the matter.
I don’t understand at all how it varies soo much!

OP posts:
Moominmiss · 19/08/2021 09:21

@GWhiteley my consultant wanted to do my section on 30th august but couldn’t book it as thats a bank holiday, then the 31st, 1st and 2nd were full so she had to book it for 3rd as that was the earliest date she could get me in.

Part of me is glad as he’ll be a September baby and end up as one of the eldest in his year rather than the youngest, so will hopefully benefit from that extra year. But I must admit my bank balance would have appreciated an august date to save on the extra year of childcare fees 🤣

Jendo1 · 19/08/2021 09:26

Hi I am 29 weeks pregnancy and have been diagnosed with pregnancy diabetes does anyone have any good meal plans as I am finding it hard to stick to regular meal times and foods my fasting blood sugar levels seem to be too high

Bubbles1st · 19/08/2021 09:58

@Moominmiss and @GWhiteley 1st and 3rd were fully booked for sections so
I'm having mine 31st August. My brother is 30th august and one of the smartest and well achieving people I know.
Youngest or oldest I'm sure will bring character and challenges so don't be too worried if they arrive earlier.

I definitely think the expectations on them being the oldest is a bit tougher.

So long as we have happy and healthy little ones we will all forget the birthday in no time.

JackJack84 · 19/08/2021 10:28

@Jendo1 sorry I don't have any meal plans but the Gestational Diabetes website is fantastic for meal & snack ideas. If it's hard to stick to meal time sit might be easier to have small snacks throughout the day. Good luck!

Jendo1 · 19/08/2021 10:34

@JackJack84Thanks so much for getting back to me I will try a little snack during the day

bewitchingnight · 19/08/2021 10:35

Exciting stuff with a lot of you having dates. I should get given my induction date next Thursday when I have my last growth scan.

@GWhiteley good news from your scan 👍🏻 I feel the same as you with the food stuff, it's fine but it's so boring!

Moominmiss · 19/08/2021 10:40

@Bubbles1st my eldest is a late summer baby and does Brilliantly at school so an august baby wouldn’t have bothered me academically in the slightest. I myself am a fairly late summer baby and did just fine. Plus as you say there’s often a higher expectation placed on the elder children in the year.

I’d have been more than happy with a 31st date for the section! Keep half wishing they’d phone me and tell me they’ve managed to bring it forward lol.

As you say happy and healthy is all I’m wanting right now!

Hi @Jendo1

What kind of things are you eating at the moment?

Firevie · 20/08/2021 10:30

Good morning ladies! Hope you’re doing well. I’m 32+1 today and have def fallen into the dreaded 32-36week trap. Feel v deflated today :( not much else to this post other than wanting to vent and for some reassurance! Xxx

CherLW · 20/08/2021 10:56

@Firevie sorry to hear you’re feeling this way, sending you love ❤️. Are your levels starting to change to change you’re used to or you just feel a bit down about it all? Just keep reminding yourself that on top of all the things you need to deal with in pregnancy you’ve also go GD to contend with and that’s not easy at times. Xx

I’m 38 weeks today and I am so fed up with people texting and contacting me saying ‘not long to go now’ when I don’t want the time to go quick!! I’ve got some personal issues like with the babies dad and the thought of baby being here due to that alone makes me feel anxious. I know people are just being nice but I wish I could just turn my phone off!! …. Rant over! 🤦🏻‍♀️

OP posts:
Firevie · 20/08/2021 11:01

@CherLW thanks so much! I think tolerances are changing and levels are creeping up hence feeling deflated. It’s been v consistent for the past two weeks so I was feeling good but now it’s creeping up and given I’m in that dreaded window it’s feeling me down!
Can believe you feeling anxious about it all but you’re so strong and will do just great once your baby is here with you - no doubt about it! Xxx

Scotti84 · 20/08/2021 11:01

Hi all, had my last drs appt yesterday. Everything is ok, but baby has put on weight in the last two weeks, not necessarily a bad thing and drs not worried, but I feel massively guilty because i had gone to testing every other day and was a bit more relaxed with what i was eating. Someone on the sept baby thread said they think her weight is ok for 39 weeks, shes measuring at 8lb 3oz, and they did say shes long, so i might be over thinking it, but it has shocked me a bit so im going to go back to daily testing and get my ass back in gear. Ive only got a week and a half to go so sure i'll manage it, but thought id share here too for those times when it feels hard or boring or we all just lack motivation with the bloody boring food. Going out to eat tonight with DH, restaurant round the corner does a great steak and veg that i know is under target so hopefully that will pick me up a bit.

Hope you guys are all ok and managing to keep on keeping on!

@Firevie hang on in there! Once youre in the 32-36 week period every day that passes is one day closer to being out of it! And we're always here for venting. I find it helps just to get it all typed out, clears the head a bit!
