Hi, currently 5 weeks pregnant and a paranoid mess thanks to 2 previous miscarriages. First was a MMC.
I can't say I have any symptoms. I thought I was weeing more before my period and could smell things slightly more but now I don't really feel like I have any symptoms.
I'm taking baby aspirin and progesterone and have an early scan booked in for 16th august with EPU.
I guess I'm seeking some reassurance that people have gone onto have successful scans/ pregnancies when not feeling pregnant as such??

Your only 5 weeks, please don't stress!! 5 weeks doesn't always show any symptoms. Congratulations though!!

dazzlerdo · 09/08/2021 14:13

Hi and congratulations. Sorry to hear about your MCs. I've had 2 myself so know how paranoid you are at the minute.
When I got pregnant with my first daughter I had no symptoms at all except a few cramps, I didn't start to get symptoms till about 7-8 weeks. I had an early scan at 8 weeks and all was ok. She's now 2 years old.

With my 2nd daughter I didn't get any symptoms with her till I was about 9 weeks had an early scan at 8 weeks and all ok again. She's now 1 year old.

Try not to worry every pregnancy is different and symptoms come and go all the time

LadyBird2020 · 09/08/2021 14:23

@farmhouseloving @dazzlerdo thank you both so much for your replies and congratulations! It is really reassuring to here your experiences.
I am hoping this is third time lucky. We found out at the weekend that if this doesn't work out, due to my partners sperm analysis results, we will have to consider IVF. We have been trying for 2 years now and still don't have our baby.
The wait for the early scan feels like it is dragging and as I work from home, I feel like the time at my desk, leaves my mind to wander.
Thank you so much!! X

Enjoy this moment, and relax. Look after yourself, have a nice long bath, make sure your relaxed because you deserve it x

LadyBird2020 · 09/08/2021 14:29

@farmhouseloving thank you so much! You really have cheered me up today. I was starting to get really down and dreading the lead up to the early scan. I will take your advice and be positive & hopefully I get to see a little flickering heartbeat on Monday! Thank you again x

@LadyBird2020 well it was 3rd time lucky for me. I had my 2 losses before I had my daughters so fingers crossed it's the same for you.

Just try not to stress about it, it will only make you feel worse. Really there is nothing you can do except relax and enjoy it xx

farmhouseloving · 09/08/2021 14:33

@LadyBird2020 anytime!! This is a special time for you so don't be stressed or sad about things that aren't happening in this moment xx

LadyBird2020 · 09/08/2021 14:35

@dazzlerdo I am sorry to hear of your losses but so happy to hear you went on to have daughters!

Thank you! I have been good with managing my worries the last week. It has just hit a peak today.

You have really helped though, so thank you!
It is so nice to speak to people with real life experiences rather than googling and scaring myself silly.

All my friends have had babies but haven't experienced a miscarriage so it is hard for them to understand completely. X

@farmhouseloving that is such a good way of looking at it ❤️ x

I always tell myself "you wouldn't celebrate wining the lottery when it hasn't happened, so what makes it ok to be sad about something that hasn't happened either"
I hope that might help 😊 x

LadyBird2020 · 09/08/2021 14:41

@farmhouseloving you are amazing with these things!! That is such a good way of looking at it. 😊 it's really made me smile. Please know I really appreciate the time you have taken out of your day to respond. X

Hi @LadyBird2020 congratulations on your BFP. I have had 4 miscarriages and last week I found out I’m pregnant again. I’m so early though as I’m not even 5 weeks yet, so I can’t book in with EPU yet. I also work from home and finding the time is passing so slowly!
Earliest I can see EPU is 18th when I hit 6 weeks (if I make it that far!) so I’m going to call them this weekend to book a scan

LadyBird2020 · 09/08/2021 16:20

@MrsS89K I'm so sorry to hear of your losses but congratulations on your BFP. As you have had previous miscarriages, it's definitely worth contacting your consultant (if you have been referred previously) or call EPU to arrange an early scan.
I contacted my consultant to ask for progesterone and the EPU called me off the back of that call to arrange an early scan.
I go on Monday when I am 6 weeks.
Time is at a stand still. It's going to be a long 9 months but it will be worth it!
I hope we both get our rainbow babies come April. ❤️🌈 x

@LadyBird2020 firstly congratulations! For what it's worth, this is my 4th pregnancy and I'm now 28 weeks and had no real symptoms. Ive suffered 3 losses before this and all of them I had every symptom you could think of, so it really has no indication of whether or not a pregnancy is viable. Easier said than done but try not to stress, I totally understand how you feel though, it's so hard to get excited after experiencing losses. Hope all goes well ☺️ xx

MrsS89K · 09/08/2021 16:30

@LadyBird2020 I’m on first name terms with my EPU 🙈 They would happily see me to take bloods this week, but I’m going to just test every few days to check this isn’t a chemical, then schedule in a scan with them when I’m exactly 6 weeks.
That’s so good that your EPU called you off the back of that appointment. I started taking aspirin and progesterone from 1dpo on this attempt so I’m praying it does something!
I have had spotting already but I have a septate uterus which can cause that (it also makes me high risk for miscarriage). Im on an NHS waiting list for surgery but I get to impatient in the mean time so decided to keep trying

Keep us posted how you get on at your scan. What are you going to do this week to try keep distracted? Please share some tips 😂

LadyBird2020 · 09/08/2021 16:36

@lockdownbabyx thank you so much for your message.
Sorry to hear of your losses and congratulations!!! So glad to hear your pregnancy is going well. It is comforting to know I am not alone on the lack of symptoms.
That is so true. I had symptoms with the first and still had a MMC.
I guess that is what is worrying me this time. My body not recognising something/ if anything is wrong. Just hope there is something more then a gestation sac this time round.
Thank you!! I hope the rest of your pregnancy is as comfortable as it can be. Xx

LadyBird2020 · 09/08/2021 16:42

@MrsS89K at least you have the option there should you need/ want it. I don't know about you but the wait for the blood test results, worry me more than anything. I want to know everything is going ok but at the same time ignorance is bliss and holding out for the scan in the hope everything is ok!
Sorry to hear you are still waiting for the op. I can only imagine the stress that adds on top of already having losses.
I will definitely keep you posted. Hopefully this is our time!
As for distractions, I am the worse person to talk to! I am driving myself crazy. I work from home and hardly getting anything done.
I went away for 4 days (came back Sunday) and it was definitely what i needed. Getting out for fresh air, long walks, seeing different sights definitely took my mind off things for a while.
Maybe if you like baking, cooking, reading, long walks, meet up with friends... anything like that might help! X

Congratulations @LadyBird2020, I hope all goes well!

If it helps at all, I’m 21 weeks with my first baby and the only symptoms I’ve ever had are the baby moving and my growing abdomen… nothing else. No tiredness or MS or anything. All is well with baby, though.

LadyBird2020 · 09/08/2021 16:46

@TakeYourFinalPosition congratulations!!! Are you finding out the gender?
That's really good to know, thank you! I hope I am the same and this time the baby just wants to be good to me. Sticks and gives me zero symptoms 🤣 x

OP posts:
winterwalksandcoffee · 09/08/2021 16:48

Will you be finding out the gender @LadyBird2020 😊

LadyBird2020 · 09/08/2021 16:54

@winterwalksandcoffee Yeah, I will definitely be finding out the gender if I get that far!
I couldn't cope with the unknown for 9 months. 🤣
My sister is pregnant, due next month and she hasn't found out and it has driven me mad! Ha.

Dani0507 · 09/08/2021 17:25

I've been worrying myself of having no real symptoms I'm currently on my 3rd pregnancy of this year after having a chemical pregnancy early last month I have no idea how far I actually am :/ I keep feeling a little light headed and needing to pee but that's all I'm so scared its going to happen again so this post has helped to know im not the only one without symptoms... congratulations on your pregnancy xx
