Hi. I'm just wondering if you fell pregnant first month of trying? Or how long did it take you? and how many times did you dtd to get pregnant? Thanks

Baby #1 - I was on the pill so have no idea.
Baby #2 - First try, only dtd once that month.
Baby #3 - Has so far taken 14 cycles and 2 miscarriages. We generally dtd 3 or 4 times over fertile window. 6ish weeks pregnant atm 🤞 Very naively didn't think it would be difficult!

Hyppogriff · 30/07/2021 13:56

It totally depends on your personal circumstances I’m afraid.
We were lucky - first month for both kids but that is not the norm.

10 years. Started when I was 28. I had lots of early losses which the doctors refused to count as miscarriages which might be why it took so long. We were dtd every other day until I turned 35 and got bumped up our local ivf waiting list.
Anon9990 · 30/07/2021 13:58

Two years… awaiting to start ivf and fell, unfortunately ended in Mc then fell again 6 months later, now have my angel baby 👍

Cocomade · 30/07/2021 14:00

3 years. 1 of them was a year of IVF (3 cycles, 1 MMC and 1 CP, third time lucky!)

scott2609 · 30/07/2021 14:03

First try, DTD five days in a row including day of ovulation and the day after

liquidice · 30/07/2021 14:06

2 children and 2 miscarriages. All first month apart from one which was the second month.

Don't think this is the norm though

Misp · 30/07/2021 14:08

DC1: 3 months (of actively trying)
DC2: 1 month (a happy surprise!)
DC3: 3 months (of not preventing/ not trying)

It’s just so so individual. There are no meaningful averages or normals really unfortunately.

firstimemamma · 30/07/2021 14:13

First try both times (age 28 and 31)

eurochick · 30/07/2021 14:16

Three years (including two rounds of iui and four of ivf). We were "unexplained" so have no idea why it didn't happen for us.

babymuffinxo · 30/07/2021 14:20

1st cycle, probably DTD 6/7 times over fertile window but sadly was ectopic.
Started trying again at the end of March of this year and fell in June, currently around 7 weeks pregnant and uterine pregnancy with heartbeat confirmed last week ❤️❤️ Probably had sex around 8-10 times covering run up to, whole of and slightly after fertile window x

wineosaurus4 · 30/07/2021 14:21

First try but sadly ended in miscarriage. Now on cycle #2 post miscarriage and hoping it's our month 🤞🏼

MeadowHay · 30/07/2021 14:24

5 months for no.1, we were 23.
4 months for no.2, we were 26/27.

We tended to have sex every other day for a week or so around where Fertility Friend suspected I might ovulate. Didn't do anything else tracking wise, just put my period dates into that app and used their predictions as a guide.

daphnedoo12 · 30/07/2021 14:24

Baby #1 - 3 years (successful after 2 rounds of ivf) we found out DH had sperm count and motility issues

Pregnancy #2 - issues must've rectified themselves as I fell pregnant naturally 8 months after DS was born (ended in MC)

Baby #2 - 5 months after MC and I'm currently 37 weeks Smile

JackJack84 · 30/07/2021 14:26

10 years from age 27. Got pregnant at 31 but ended in ruptured ectopic, mc at age 36. Currently 24 weeks pregnant at age 37.

PerciphonePuma · 30/07/2021 14:28

3 weeks x

becca3210 · 30/07/2021 14:28

7 months

LittleGreenTable · 30/07/2021 14:32

First try after coming off the pill at 24, that ended in a MC then it took another 6 months to get pregnant again.

Now trying to number 2 and currently on month 5 of trying but since I've come off the implant my periods are few and far between so just keep dtd as often as we both want to and hoping for the best!

Bennetgirl · 30/07/2021 14:39

Dd1 18 months. I had just been to my gp to seek help and then got a bfp.

3 after that, first attempt. Extremely lucky and grateful.

Dp is having the snip once this one has arrived!

Bennetgirl · 30/07/2021 14:40

Ps I was taking the pill before we starting ttc dd1. I never went back on it. I’ve always assumed that was what took us so long x

NameChanged15729 · 30/07/2021 14:44

Baby number 1 was a accident of sorts. I was really bad for remembering my pill and I remember finding out and my first thought was ‘I want a termination by the end of the week’. I came around to the idea and can’t imagine life without him now!

Baby number 2 was either 3 or 4 months.

Current pregnancy was conceived on month two.

elenacampana · 30/07/2021 14:44

18 months - we’d just had fertility tests back saying they couldn’t find a reason. 26 weeks with a baby girl now.

Pantaloony · 30/07/2021 14:47

Three years. Doctors refused to do any tests as I was a fit and healthy 30 year old. The month I fell pregnant I only DTD twice and planned on handing in my notice at work.

TokyoSushi · 30/07/2021 14:50

DC1 about 4 months, I was actively trying but didn't actually know how to do it Blush nothing about ovulation, fertile windows etc etc, once I'd looked it up, pretty quick!

DC2 About 10 minutes

89redballoons · 30/07/2021 14:52

18 months. We weren't "trying" as such in terms of charting cycles and so on, because I have PCOS and very irregular periods and had been told I wouldn't conceive naturally.

I had been on the pill for years, stopped taking it just to see what would happen and then conceived in late March, having not had a period since the December before that!
