Hi. I'm just wondering if you fell pregnant first month of trying? Or how long did it take you? and how many times did you dtd to get pregnant? Thanks

DC1 9 months
DC2 6 months

I underestimated how long it would take for the pill to get out of my system - they warn up to 6 months and I can see why. I’m sure it’s the reason it took us a while

Good luck x

Dc1 - first cycle (hadn't been on hormonal contraception for over a year which I think really helped)
Dc2 - 9 cycles
3 - 3 cycles and miscarried
4 - 3 cycles and currently pregnant, 25 weeks now so fingers crossed all goes well.

Nat4392 · 30/07/2021 14:54

Age 28, cycle 13. We usually DTD every other day around ovulation so 3-4 times

Megan2018 · 30/07/2021 14:54

Less than a year and only about 10 qualifying instances of sex (long story, we had an odd year and had few opportunities to have sex). We were both in our 40’s so it was a surprise.

BettyOBarley · 30/07/2021 14:55

DC1 - took 18 months
DC2 - first try

I have pcos.

HaggisBurger · 30/07/2021 14:57

Babies number 1 2 and 3 - first month of trying each. Maybe DTD 2-3 times around mid cycle. Aged 29, 31 and 34 though so fairly young

LimpLettice · 30/07/2021 14:57

#1 3 months at 31
#2 15 months with 3 losses at 41
#3 once, by accident, at 42!

leakymcleakleak · 30/07/2021 15:00

4-6 months (it was 6, but at least two of those DH was out of the country during my fertile period so doesn't really 'count') - miscarriage

9 months - DC1

6 months - DC2 (currently pregnant)

Charting and, by the end, both times dtd every second day throughout the cycle which I think was necessary.

leakymcleakleak · 30/07/2021 15:01

Interesting to see so many people get instantly pregnant the first time on their second, friends took 5 years on their first and got pregnant first time on their second which led to a v unexpected 2 under 2 situation.

Nic2020 · 30/07/2021 15:02

It took me 10 months and I’m 31 now x

BFP#1 - 2 years and 1 month. Aged 31. Got a BFP shortly after seeing a fertility doctor. Ended a few weeks later in MC.

BFP#2 - 11 months. Aged 32. PCOS diagnosed. Lost some weight to get to a lower BMI so I could take Clomid. Clomid worked first time. Resulted in DD 8 months later.

BFP#3 - 5 months. Aged 35. Somewhat surprised about this. Since I now know I have PCOS, I've been faithfully re-tracing the steps I took to get DD. I was fully expecting to need to take Clomid again, but it seems inositol has done the trick. Somewhere between 5-6 weeks atm (Metformin hadn't even regulated my periods, so some uncertainty of dates), so very early days.

InTheNightWeWillWish · 30/07/2021 15:03

10 months. 9 months with sex every 1-3 days, but mostly every other day, throughout the whole month but also tracking ovulation and increasing frequency in the fertile week. Month 10 we had sex a handful of times in the month. I hadn’t been on hormonal contraceptives for years before that, so no need to re-regulate. Now 22 weeks.

Mommabear20 · 30/07/2021 15:06

Were trying for 18 months, stopped trying as our wedding was approaching, then fell pregnant first month trying for DC1 and second month with DC2

Peanut91 · 30/07/2021 15:15

DS1 - first cycle
DS2 - fourth cycle

sarah13xx · 30/07/2021 15:19

We were quite quick.. 3 months. I used pre-seed, ovulation tests (clearblue and easy at home) and did the sperm meets egg plan the month it worked so it was every night for about 2 weeks in the end up 😂 couldn’t keep that up every month!

GummyBear91 · 30/07/2021 15:56

First time trying. Tracked my ovulation over a few months before and used LH ovulation test strips alongside physical signs and the Fitbit app. We dtd about 5 times running up to ovulation and about 5 post ovulation. My husband thought he was in heaven! Wink I had been off the pill for over a year as we were planning on trying earlier and then covid hit.

Currently 31w6d and wondering if it would be so easy a second time around or if it was just luck.

Paripale · 30/07/2021 16:13

I’ve got three children and have had two miscarriages. Time taken actively trying to conceive has varied wildly - shortest time 2 months /longest 2 years. Weirdly my last pregnancy, which resulted in DD1, was my the quickest conception time. This was a big surprise as I am in my mid 40’s but we just got lucky I guess? One thing that seemed to speed things up was cutting out booze altogether (even before the tww) and my husband taking amino acids in supplement form.

Cherryana · 30/07/2021 16:16

Age 31- dc1 month 2
Age 34 - dc 2 month 3

Although I do think this thing is dependent on so my factors with no seemingly rhyme or reason.

NatalieH2220 · 30/07/2021 16:20

1st baby-first attempt first month of trying
2nd baby-11 months ttc

Kipkay35 · 30/07/2021 16:23

11 months and currently 6+5, I had a miscarriage after the first cycle. We DTD every other day in fertile week and 1day before, on and after ovulation peak. X

cas20 · 30/07/2021 16:23

Thanks so much everyone! This really is so helpful. This is my first month trying so, fingers crossed 🤞🏼

Fell pregnant aged 29 after 8 months of ttc. Had a mmc in that pregnancy.

Fell pregnant again aged 30 after ttc for a further 8 months and that pregnancy resulted in my daughter.

I paid for private fertility tests after my mmc (though they were not necessary, I just felt desperate) and they concluded at the time (both my husband and I were 29) that we had excellent fertility. It really is down to luck to when you when you will conceive.

I had cycles anywhere between 32-36 days at the time and ovulation date would vary. I probably dtd 8-10 times per cycle.

Chanel05 · 30/07/2021 16:34

A friend of mine was ttc from the age of 28 for 4 years. Diagnosed with unexplained infertility. Had IVF and it failed. Then, she fell pregnant naturally the next cycle.

queenatom · 30/07/2021 16:40

8 months (11 cycles as mine were very short) at 32/33. Currently 23 weeks pregnant. We had testing done around Cycle 9 that showed mild hypothyroidism and I had my tubes flushed on Cycle 10.

Sunflowerx · 30/07/2021 16:41

Hadn't used contraception for about 5 years and just tracked my cycle using Flo. Fell pregnant my 2nd cycle of actually trying!
