Ah my people!

Hello. I'm due on 29th Jan. I have a 20 month old DD who is currently going through sleep regression which is making me question all of my life choices but so be it 😂

I've told people as and when I've seen them but not 'announced' it - might do a little social media post soon. Because it's my second it doesn't feel as announcement-worthy almost?!

So I'm 14+6, showing a little (although you wouldn't know it really, only me that can notice), and keep thinking I can feel little quickenings but not sure if it's just my imagination or digestive system 😂

Apart from that I'm just desperately missing red wine.

ReginaaPhalange · 06/08/2021 16:27

@MKCH oh please don't mention red wine 🤣🤣🤣 I miss it so much! I'm 14+5 and FTM. No idea what feelings to be... feeling out for lol!

AIC2015 · 06/08/2021 17:13

@spttc were keeping it 'secret' too, I like that I'm not having peoples comments and opinions like I did with my first. I like that it's just me and my partner in it together. My boss knows so I could go to appointments, but she doesn't understand my thinking! I didn't announce my daughter to Facebook etc until she was 3 weeks old. It's okay to not want to tell everyone just yet, even if most don't understand it haha

spttc · 06/08/2021 18:14

@AIC2015 yeh I don't see myself making a social media announcement at all. Even when she's born. Those who actually see me & know me in daily life will know. But people I knew in college don't need to. I think we're going to wait until we can't anymore i.e. I look very pregnant 😂

Definately keeping the gender a secret 🤫😁😂

Kayl23 · 07/08/2021 09:17

Hi everyone!! I haven't posted in absolutely ages cause I've just been so tired! Feeling better now though. Glad to hear you're all doing well ☺️ has anyone been having any new symptoms in place of the old ones? The last week or so I've been getting restless legs every evening... it's such a horrible feeling and it's driving me mad!! I'm presuming it's due to being pregnant although I read that it doesn't usually start until third trimester, I'm only 15+2! It is possible that it's due to a medication change, but I just wondered if any other pregnant ladies had experienced it at this point?

BobbleWobble1 · 07/08/2021 18:44

That's exciting for those of you feeling movement! I think I've felt something a few times but can never swear to it!

Think bump is starting to show just a little. Have dug out all my maternity stuff from last time so think I'll get it all washed up this weekend.

Trinacham · 07/08/2021 20:30

Anyone had Gestational Diabetes in previous pregnancies, or current one even? I decided to use my mum's Glucose test kit today, as my mum had it with her third child (me) and my sister had it with both her daughters, so I'm kind of expecting the diagnosis (neither my mum or sister are/were big people, or eat bad, so it looks genetic. My result was quite high, after fasting, and again after eating (not crazy high, but high). My midwife scheduled me in at my booking for the glucose tolerance test, but seems so long to wait until 24 weeks.. not sure why they leave it so late to test high risk women. My sister self-tested like I did, and went to the doc to show her results, so it was discovered nice and early. Think I'll ring the doc on Monday and hopefully they'll take action (I was born a big 9lb 2oz when born as my mum found out about her GD late!)

PheebsJ · 07/08/2021 20:57

I had gestational diabetes with my son but I didn’t find out until around 30 weeks which was due to me showing the symptoms (he was measuring large, I was constantly thirsty, tired etc.) and they decided to test me. How far along are you? Does sound silly to have to wait weeks if you’ve already noticed your blood sugar has been high and it runs in family 😕

Trinacham · 07/08/2021 21:54

@PheebsJ I'm 15 weeks. I had no symptoms (probably wouldn't at this stage?) But purely tested because of my family history and my sister persuaded me to, as she started testing straight away with her first pregnancy (our mum also has type 2 which came on decades after having GD)

Hello I'm about 14+5 and just caught up on this thread. Hope you're all well. I had my NHS scan late at 14 weeks, and all was low risk and looked okay, but I've decided to get the nipt privately as well this week.

@expectinglittlebear I have had the bumps moving in my stomach like that on one side or the other! But no other feelings. It kind of vanishes if I gently push it. I asked the sonographer at my scan and she told me that it's organs moving for the uterus to expand and rise further, as there's a lot of growth over the next couple weeks - so I'm feeling organs and intestines shifting over the uterus.

I haven't bought anything yet, and haven't told anyone apart from our parents, siblings, and a few best friends who already knew from early on. Has anyone else bought things yet?

Scottishgal85 · 08/08/2021 11:00

I haven't bought anything yet, I am going to wait until the 20 week scan I think. We do have a private scan next weekend to find out what we're having though, so I'm hoping I don't give in and start buying cute wee outfits once we know.

BobbleWobble1 · 08/08/2021 11:15

I haven't bought anything yet. Waiting for 20 week scan as we're going to find out this time, mostly for practical reasons. If it's another boy, he will literally be the best dressed boy on the planet as I have nephews as well Grin if it's a girl then I'll definitely have more to buy but none of the big items at least as I can use everything I have again.

I haven’t bought anything but I have already been given a selection of second hand clothes and offered more. It’s looking like I won’t have to buy much at all!

spttc · 08/08/2021 21:18

My back has been killing me so decided to invest in a pregnancy pillow. This also doubles as a nursing pillow which is cool. It's pricey but as I said my back really hurts already 🙈😣 so I treated myself. Code 173 for 10% off if anyone was considering

So I’ve now done by fb announcement 😬 after being off it for so long. Can someone tell me the name of the group mentioned here before? I’d like to join now I’m back! Thanks.

Trinacham · 08/08/2021 21:48

@thecapitalsunited same here! The spare room is filled with 8 or so bags full of baby clothes from my brother and SIL. Really lovely clothes too, exactly what I would pick.. feel very lucky. Of course will be buying more as it's all part of the excitement and fun, but nice to have all this gifted!
Haven't purchased much else, other than a pack of free nappies (just had to pay postage) and also donated by brother and SIL is a cot.

Ralala · 08/08/2021 22:25

@sociallydistained I have sent you the Facebook link.

Just to add the group is completely private. No one can see that you have joined, are a member or what you post etc xxx

expectinglittlebear · 09/08/2021 13:11

How is everyone feeling at the moment? Flowers

I am 15+1 today and I have my 16 week appointment tomorrow which I am looking forward to as its another step closer, its not a scan, just a midwife appointment with checks etc as far as I know. My 20week scan has all been booked in for the 17th September (20+5) which feels like FOREVER away, so we are thinking of booking a private gender scan in a week or two so we can see baby again halfway before the next scan and also hopefully find out the gender!

Symptom wise my first trimester symptoms seem to be pretty much gone. Still getting slight nausea first thing in the morning before I have something to eat, but other than that no nausea or sickness, which feels amazing. Still haven't got my energy back completely but not as tired as I was before which is lovely also. Starting to get some movement since last Weds/Thurs, popping and rolling a couple times a day, mainly when I have settled for the evening and sitting on the sofa still or something! Also starting to get more RLP and cramping, which worried me at first, but I haven't had a bleed or anything so I am assuming it is just everything stretching down there!

Hope everyone has managed to drop most, if not all, of your first trimester symptoms Flowers

Tangfastic91 · 09/08/2021 13:50

@expectinglittlebear glad your symptoms are subsiding. I had a pretty rough week with nausea but today I've felt ok, so hoping I may be on the up!

My midwife app is next week at 17 weeks, so excited to get to that next milestone. Also very tempted to do a private gender scan, but will try and hold out for the 20 week since I'm more concerned about the anomaly portion anyway.

Hope everyone is starting to enjoy the second trimester, I hope to include myself in this by the end of the week 🤞

SouthwestSis · 09/08/2021 14:07

I'm 16weeks today and had my midwife appointment recently so was nice to get to another milestone.
We haven't bought anything and have been gifted some second hand clothes by my sister and a friend which I'm happy to use regardless of the gender of our little one, they won't care what colour they're in!
Just over 4 weeks till my anomaly scan so we'll find out the gender then to help us think about names but don't think we'll share the news until closer to the delivery. Haven't felt any movements yet so hoping for that in the next few weeks!

babyyy1926 · 09/08/2021 20:42

Hope you dont mind me joining this thread! I was on a different January one before and it went completely silent and i didn't realise there was another one. Im not due the end of jan. My due date is 13th jan. Feel like my belly is really starting to pop out more now and i think people are starting to notice!

Flowers222 · 09/08/2021 23:42

@babyyy1926 welcome! 👋 Looks like you are due the day before me! How are you feeling? I am definitely starting to get a little bump now too. Feels huge to me when I look down but when I take photos it doesn't look that big.

babyyy1926 · 10/08/2021 05:46

@Flowers222
I am actually feeling alright, this is my second pregnancy and its been so much more relaxed than my first! Feeling the baby move more regularly now. How are you feeling?
Has anyone found out genders yet? I think we're finding out at our 20 week scan Grin

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 10/08/2021 07:18

@babyyy1926 yes I had a private anomaly scan and was surprised he could see the gender already! My NHS scan is in 5 weeks, so I got a little sneak peak
