Hello everyone! just catching up on all posts, so nice to see new people joining as well as hearing people getting to know the sex of the baby and thinking about baby items, bumps etc
I am currently visiting my parents in Italy, I am doing some work from home but I feel kind of on holiday most of the time so I am really forgetting about the internet ahahah honestly I love it ❤️

I have been feeling something that I thought could be baby movements last week for a few days, but it is so early and it's my first, so who knows! A part for this and incredible bloating in the evening, I don't have any symptom at the moment! This makes me a bit worried, but I am trying to remind myself that it is normal at this stage and that most likely everything is fine!

Now I am telling people about the pregnancy when I meet them, this is also making me a bit scared, I would hate to retract if something goes wrong, but at the same time I have friends here that I prefer to tell in person so it is now or never!
Probably it will be different after the scan, hopefully I will be reassured! I have booked a private scan (and medical check) for next week when I will be 16+4, I hope to find out the sex of the baby.
I think we will share the sex of the baby with friends and family, although I really don't like the gender specific pink/blue stuff so I might change my mind about it (not sure what my partner thinks about it though ahahah)

thecapitalsunited · 10/08/2021 16:36

@EsseKey I've been having the same worried feelings as you. The only symptom I have is constipation and I keep wondering whether things are really ok in there. I almost feel like it would be embarrassing to untell people. I think part of the problem is that I don't think my brain is entirely convinced that I am actually pregnant. I just can't seem to link the baby I saw on the screen with my swelling belly.

I've been reassured today though as the midwife managed to listen to the heartbeat at my appointment this morning. My scan isn't until 13th September and I think I might have gone nuts second guessing myself if I hadn't heard it.

spttc · 10/08/2021 17:13

Omg same @thecapitalsunited it's almost like I don't even believe I'm pregnant so I'm almost embarrassed telling people! 🤣🤣🤣 I also have no symptoms (apart from nausea but that's dying down finally thank god!) @EsseKey yeh we're sort of set on not telling people the gender & just keeping to ourselves. At least until late in the pregnancy we can always change our minds!! I Havnt even told anyone I'm pregnant yet so I'll do that first I suppose. 16+2 Scan next Tuesday so we might do it after that.

Trinacham · 10/08/2021 18:57

I'm not the only one then! I still keep saying to people, I don't feel pregnant. Them again, I haven't all along. I had no nausea, no sickness, no symptoms really (maybe very subtle ones). 15w 4d. I also keep debating with myself whether I have a bump or not. Although a few people have said I do, particularly those who haven't seen me for a couple of weeks. I can't wait until I feel him/her so I can actually feel pregnant 😁

EsseKey · 10/08/2021 19:28

I am glad to hear that many of us are feeling the same about telling people but not being really sure about what's going on inside... At least we are not alone😅
@spttc finally your nausea is easing a bit, I have been feeling for you every time you said it was still there! I hope you will be 100% ok very soon!

@Trinacham people have been telling me that I DON'T have a bump, even those that have seen me in a swimming suit! I guess that at this stage I might just look a bit fatter than usual, but this is definitely not my normal belly (which used to be flat!!), and they know I am pregnant! 🤷‍♀️

EsseKey · 10/08/2021 19:32

@thecapitalsunited listening to the heartbeat is beautiful I think I liked it ALMOST as much as the scan! They didn't use the doppler during the scan so for me it was a totally different experience!

bethabean · 11/08/2021 22:23

Hello everyone! I have been so inactive on this thread but plan to keep on top of it now Smile been so lovely reading everyone's experiences so far!

I had my gender scan today and I am having a baby girl! I was convinced it was a boy and dp thought it was a girl so he's feeling very smug nowGrin I feel so happy and lucky xx

Alle1991 · 12/08/2021 08:48

Hi everyone, hope everyone is doing ok. Is there another Facebook group on the go? I’m rubbish at keeping up on here and it’s not sending me notifications anymore.

I’m still looking and feeling bloated, I’m still at the stage were you would think I’ve just gained a few pounds lol

Going to have a private scan in a week or so to find out the gender, convinced it’s a boy.

babyyy1926 · 12/08/2021 13:33

@Alle1991 I'm convinced I'm having a boy too! Im 18 weeks and finding out the gender at the 20 week scan. What makes you think its a boy?
Ive got a little girl already and my pregnancy has been completely different this time around. No sickness whereas i had HG with DD and carrying lower. Also just have this deep certain feeling inside that its a baby boy in there! Im not bothered either way though but think id be shocked if it is a girl

sociallydistained · 12/08/2021 13:57

I feel mine is a boy at this point, just a feeling I have. I’m not finding out the gender though and will be a nice surprise either way! My partner thinks it’s a girl. We both don’t have a preference though lol.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 12/08/2021 13:58

I thought mine would be a girl, but its a boy. It my 1st so nothing to compare it to, but I do have hairs growing on my stomach 🙈 which might indicate a boy apparently - old wives tale I'm guessing

Tangfastic91 · 12/08/2021 14:46

I'm also convinced this bean is a boy. Will find out at the 20 week scan (or maybe a private scan if I don't get to hear heartbeat at this 16 week midwife appointment, because I want to check all is ok!)

spttc · 12/08/2021 16:45

Oh @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yours is the first confirmed boy in this group I think?! We've 3 or 4 girls confirmed already I think... yours is girl number 4 I think @bethabean 🎉🎀 A good few suspected boys though.... @Tangfastic91 @sociallydistained @babyyy1926 @Alle1991 , will be interesting to see 😍💙💖

Scottishgal85 · 12/08/2021 16:50

I've got a private scan booked this Saturday to find out what we're having. Our hospital has signs up everywhere saying don't ask, so thought we'd be best not to chance finding out at the 20 week scan. Plus, it's a nice excuse to have another wee look!
I don't know why, but I think it's a girl, although it's my first so I have nothing to base it on!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 12/08/2021 17:00

@spttc girls will be lovely!! I just keep thinking spa breaks and girl trips 🥳

spttc · 12/08/2021 17:34

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I'm delighted with my girl. I couldn't believe my luck 😍💖🎀 obviously either is good but I'm glad to have a girl this time on my first. Boy next time hopefully 🤞🤞🤞

MamaDaria · 12/08/2021 17:40

I think mine will be a girl, just looking at our siblings having all girls. Either way, it will be exciting. We are going to find out at 20 week scan, so still one month to wait.

Apparently there is a 51% chance of having baby boy. Will be interesting to know the ratio in our group 😉

SouthwestSis · 12/08/2021 17:47

I have an inkling mines a girl but won't find out for several weeks yet at our anomaly scan.
Weird to think this will be my last summer without kids!

BobbleWobble1 · 12/08/2021 17:48

I have to agree with those that don't "feel" particularly pregnant. Other than being shattered I feel mostly ok now. I don't look pregnant either but I got away with it for months last time.

Hoping to find out the sex at our 20 week scan in a couple of weeks. I'm feeling girl this time for some reason. We have a boy already.

babyyy1926 · 12/08/2021 18:22

@Scottishgal85 why does it say not to ask the gender? Ive never seen this at my hospital. Can they refuse to tell you? Would be gutted to go to my 20 week scan and for them to not tell me the gender

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 12/08/2021 18:27

@spttc looking at the boys in my family, it's going to be far more mud, wrestling, rugby and cars. My partner's very happy and I didn't mind either way, but coming from a family of all girls it'll be a shift!

Alle1991 · 12/08/2021 18:46

@babyyy1926 I don’t no what makes me think a boy, from the minute I saw baby on the screen I thought boy. I have no logic reason 😂 might have a surprise in a few weeks

Trinacham · 12/08/2021 18:50

I will be shocked if it turns out to be a boy. We'll hopefully find out at our scan in September! My niece has had a couple of visions of 'her' and even said what she's wearing etc. I paid for 'the nub techs' to do the Ramzi Theory on my early private scan and they said girl based on the placenta being on my left! Everyone is guessing girl too. Don't know how reliable the skull theory is but i think that also looks girly.

spttc · 12/08/2021 18:50

@Alle1991 yeh there is no way to know. It's 50/50.... or 51 boy / 49 girl apparently. I was convinced mine was a boy until week 7/8. Was looking at more boyish nursery stuff etc. Then I changed my mind. Week 8/9....My husband still thought boy. We found out at 10.5 weeks it's a girl. Could have gone either way!
