There’s already a March thread but everyone seems so far along already with people
Due at the beginning of March.

I’ve estimated I’m due around 29th of March so thought I’d make a thread for that! Anyone else?
Ive just come back from holiday, I took the tests the first day we got there to check if it could enjoy a cocktail or two.. ended up with mocktails instead! Grin

How are we feeling? Any symptoms yet?

Thank you @bubblepond. So pleased to see that you scan went well also xx

bubblepond · 30/08/2021 13:19

@bubblybrit thank you so much!

bubblepond · 30/08/2021 15:35

I just realised I ate pink lamb the other day without thinking too much about it and am freaking out šŸ™ˆ I know the risk of toxoplasmosis is low.. but think I might call the midwife tomorrow anyway!

heywhatswrongwitu · 02/09/2021 22:57

Hope everyone's doing ok?
I've got 12 week scan bang on 12 weeks next Thursday. Very nervous already!
Also have started to have a bit of a a bump. Second baby so to be expected. But could be all the carbs I'm shoving down my throat to stave off the nausea..

Dyra · 03/09/2021 14:43

Doing great ty @heywhatswrongwitu! I finally managed to get someone at work to give me a proper scan this morning. Measured in at 10+2 or 3, which is about how far along I was expecting. Great heartbeat seen and baby was having a dance party at the start. Over the moon with happiness. Debating telling the in-laws tomorrow now since my family already know and I have a lovely photo to show them.

@bubblepond Did you talk to the midwife in the end? I also had some pink lamb a couple of weeks ago. Didn't think anything of it at the time other than "yummy".

Carolinesyear · 03/09/2021 15:25

Great news on your scan dates, mines not for another three weeks however I've booked an early one privately for next Sunday, had anyone else's cramps completely stopped? I was worried about them at first now I'm worried that they are gone, I'm 9 +3

bubblybrit · 03/09/2021 16:47

@Carolinesyear. Not long now until your scan! I’m 10+1 and have a private scan booked for next Saturday. Going to get the NIPT given that I’m a little older. As they sample the dna from the baby they can also reveal the sex if you wish. I found out with DD but not sure whether I want to know this early again (DH really wants to know though so a bit of a battle going on at the moment). I found that cramps come and go to be honest. I still get cramps occasionally but find it’s just the odd twinge here and there at the moment.

Does anyone feel about 6 months pregnant? My stomach is so bloated and hard that I’m glad to be still working from home as not sure if it’s be able to hide it very well. Already wearing baggy jumpers and tops when meeting friends/family that we’ve not told yet (we want to wait until the results of the NIPT come back)

heywhatswrongwitu · 03/09/2021 20:06

@Dyra that's great news! I've slowly been telling all sorts of people, mainly because I keep getting told how pale I look and I can't be bothered to lie..

Also v bloated.. though it might be slight bump too? High waisted jeans are out already! And none of my tops seem to be billowy enough to hide it.

GeorgiaMcGraw · 06/09/2021 10:20

Hi everyone, how is it going? I'm really nervous now. Have a private scan at the weekend, should be 10 weeks (ish) by then. If It's good news then, I might actually relax a little bit! Also, I echo others' experiences, I have quite an obvious (to me and my family) bump. I know it's not fat, it's tight as a drum!

Carolinesyear · 06/09/2021 12:59

@GeorgiaMcGraw is that your first scan, I'm booked in for a private scan on Sunday when I'll be 10+5 but had another two scans due to spotting and one bleed. Spotting has stopped for almost two weeks now. I don't have a bump but I feel tightness in the morning

It will actually be my third one! Went to EPU with spotting at about 6 weeks (they thought 5wks though), then private at nearly 8wks. This Saturday will be 9+6. My spotting has also pretty much finished as of a week ago which is cool. I'm a bit jealous of you though, I have quite an obvious bump already, it's tight as a drum. It's just a pain when you can't fit in your clothes but you can't tell people why. Glad you got scanned, it's so horrible when you spot/bleed, you just assume the worst. Fingers crossed for us both this weekend :)

Carolinesyear · 06/09/2021 20:42

I'm jealous of you @GeorgiaMcGraw for having a bump! I wish I did. On my first scan I was told I had a retroverted uterus which means it lies upright instead of forward and was told that I might be later showing a bump! I really hope our spotting stays away! Sunday can't come soon enough, I've got my proper scan booked for 13 weeks but that was wayyyy too long to wait

bubblybrit · 06/09/2021 20:58

Thank goodness I’m not the only one with a mini bump @GeorgiaMcGraw. My trousers are starting to feel uncomfortable but I’m so reluctant to buy maternity wear until I’m out of the first trimester. I’ve also got a private scan booked for the weekend. Should be measuring 11+2 by then. It’s also my third scan due to the anxiety I’ve felt since I had a loss in Dec. Fingers crossed little ones are doing well for both of us!

bubblybrit · 06/09/2021 21:00

Good luck for your scan @Carolinesyear. I’m showing way earlier than I was with DD. Thank god I’m not seeing many people or else I’d need to live in baggy jumpers. The bump/bloat gets worse in the evening.

bubblepond · 06/09/2021 21:16

@Dyra I called them and they basically said that they would consider testing me if I had flu-like symptoms (ie symptoms of toxo) which makes sense! And they reassured me the risk is really low :)

Told our family over the past week, it feels really nice to have things a bit more out in the open!

bubblepond · 06/09/2021 21:17

Good luck for your next scan @GeorgiaMcGraw! So glad the spotting has settled too

I wish I had a bump, I also just have the evening bloat @bubblybrit! (All day bloat really but worse in the evening)

Finally managed to have a meal which included vegetables tonight too, I am actually sick of the sight of carbs now after only eating carbs for 4 weeks!

Bluebell88 · 06/09/2021 21:22

So glad I’m not the only one feeling bloated and uncomfortable! I definitely have a small bump/bloat which gets worse in the evening, I can still just about fit into my normal jeans but after a while they are so uncomfortable.
I bought some maternity jeans in H&M in the week as we were away at the weekend and eating out, after wearing my normal
jeans on the Friday night and being incredibly uncomfortable I was so glad to have them for the rest of the weekend because it was either that or eating out in gym leggings!!
I don’t care that I’m only 10+4, given how rubbish I feel the rest of the time, being comfortable in what I was wearing was the difference between enjoying the evening and feeling worse.
I think I need a bit more of a bump so that I don’t have to keep pulling them up but after dinner they were very much appreciated!

Finally got my booking appointment next Tuesday when I’ll be 11+5 and my NHS scan next Thursday at exactly 12 weeks. Next week is going to be exciting/nerve wracking until I see everything is ok on the scan, I think it will all start feeling so much more real 🄰

bubblybrit · 06/09/2021 21:29

Yes I’m not sure if it’s a bump or bloat @bubblepond. Either way it’s a bit uncomfortable lol šŸ˜‚ much prefer the stage where it’s obvious that your pregnant!

GeorgiaMcGraw · 06/09/2021 22:29

Lol, love that we can all just be anxious chubsters together Grin touch wood, it'll be plainer sailing once we're all past the dating scans, and then don't have to be secretive either!

Caroline, you are going to get so fed up with envioys women saying "but I got so huge, where is your bump?" But try not to let it get to you, and I hope the retroverted uterus isn't uncomfortable.

Dyra · 07/09/2021 08:55

I have a retroverted uterus as well @Carolinesyear. IMO I wasn't showing until the 3rd trimester. I was overweight at the time though and quite bloated with water weight, which also contributed. Once I was showing though, it was very obvious I had a bump. On the plus side, I could still get on and off the floor and put on my own shoes late into the 3rd trimester!

Cxjai792 · 07/09/2021 10:49

A little relieved to be hearing that others feel really bloated and big already! I thought I had really over done it on the carbs because of nausea. I did get a bit down when I saw midwife last week to have my checks and saw I put on a lot already. I know it’s normal and being pregnant it could be water retention too but I have a mum tum from my first pregnancy so I just look really chunky at the momentSad I think it’s not helping that the weather keeps changing and I have no idea what to wear to be comfortable, is anyone else struggling with this too?
It will all be worth it in the end so just need to be positiveGrin

Carolinesyear · 07/09/2021 11:32

@Dyra my mum also think she had a retroverted uterus with my big sister, in those days they didn't scan at all so she was never told but she says she never showed at all until around 8 months and even then her bump was tiny, however I do think that was to do with her tummy muscles too though as my elder sister was born with club feet as she was so tight in the womb. I'm sure I won't have that problem.
I definitely have a tightness feeling, I can't wait for a bump
