There’s already a March thread but everyone seems so far along already with people
Due at the beginning of March.

I’ve estimated I’m due around 29th of March so thought I’d make a thread for that! Anyone else?
Ive just come back from holiday, I took the tests the first day we got there to check if it could enjoy a cocktail or two.. ended up with mocktails instead! Grin

How are we feeling? Any symptoms yet?

@Shad0w

Thank you for all your kind messages. I was at the EPU this morning for a further blood test and then was sent home. I should have the results in around an hour.

It's so strange because the bleeding has slowed down again and not as much as it was in the night and early this morning, it gives us a glimmer of hope but I do think I'm possibly setting myself up for even more heartache.

@Shad0w Have they done any more scans or are they looking at hcg levels in the blood? keeping you in my thoughts and hoping alongside you, but whatever the outcome I hope you have the support around you ā¤ļø Remember that you can't control your feelings, if you feel hopeful then feel it, as if the outcome is not what we are all hoping for then you will feel the heartache regardless. You can't be denied a bit of hope xx
Shad0w · 01/08/2021 15:06

Thank you @Nervyy I have had the results and the hcg levels have increased but not to where they should be.

I have a scan on Wednesday. It's forever a waiting game and it's awful 😢

Nervyy · 01/08/2021 15:21

@Shad0w I can't even imagine how hard the waiting is šŸ˜ž is there no way they can offer you a scan any sooner? How far along are you? That is a hopeful sign with the hcg levels xx positive wishes and thoughts being sent your way!!
Shad0w · 01/08/2021 15:26

@Nervyy I am 7+2 from my own calculations but this hasn't been confirmed. The scan last Wednesday they were unable to locate the pregnancy. (Including an internal)

Apparently next Wednesday is the earliest they can offer another scan. I am still holding a little hope, first baby and took 5 years to conceive, it's so heartbreaking x

@Shad0w gosh how awful šŸ˜ž I can't imagine what you're going through but I am so sorry. Make sure you go back sooner if you have any worries between now and weds and if you're comfortable, please keep us updated. I hope you have the best support around you and if there's anything you want to vent about just pop a post up in the forumā¤ļø

Hey. I’ve got a GP appointment this morning as nausea is through the roof. Already had a few days off work and they are getting a little impatient with my absence which is stressing me out. Does anyone know how long anti sickness meds take to kick in?

I was off at the end of last year due to severe anemia in pregnancy and then the subsequent miscarriage. Really worried about being off again 😢

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

chillichutneysarnie · 02/08/2021 09:05

Hi everyone, I'm 5+1 today with first baby. Took us about 14 months to conceive (I'm 34) so I'm nervous that if it doesn't work out it'll take us that long or more to get pregnant again which would not be ideal! I don't have many symptoms yet, although I did nap on Saturday which I don't usually do. I have an early scan booked for 8 weeks just to break up the waiting time. I phoned my doctor's surgery last week and they have me a number for the midwives - I haven't called them yet because I'm stupidly thinking they will laugh at me for calling too early or something (I've read threads where this has happened) someone please tell me to pull myself together!

Buttercupdaisys · 02/08/2021 09:27

Hi, I was hoping to join on too. I'm due 29th/30th march so I'm about 5+5/5+6. Bubblybrit I really feel your pain. This is my second baby and the nausea is real! I feel a bit down with it as I can hardly move and I have a toddler to care for too. I had this with my first and I was hoping it was a one off but no here I am again haha! I got phenergan from the GP, it's an antihistamine which can also help with travel sickness and morning sickness. It takes about 30mins to kick in but it only takes the edge off for me... Helps me not vomit all day long though but still quite nauseous.
Chilliechutney I have rang the midwives and got my first appointment in for the 25th Aug. Maybe give them a call soon just so you can get that appointment in for when your 8weeks and your not waiting longer.

bubblybrit · 02/08/2021 09:36

Congratulations @Buttercupdaisys. I had no nausea whilst pregnant with my DD so this is all new to me. I was hoping for a wonder drug which miraculously stopped the nausea dead. Looks like I’ve been a bit optimistic. My DD is 2.5 so only able to function in short bursts for her. I simply can’t work feeling like this but so worried about getting signed off as well!

@chillichutneysarnie. Congrats! I’d also book the midwife appointment ASAP so that you secure an appointment for as close to 8 weeks as possible. I found out I was pregnant at 4+3 and called to book at 4+5. No one batted an eyelid with me.

Buttercupdaisys · 02/08/2021 09:54

@bubblybrit, my DD is 2.5 too! Haha. And I'm the same, I keep telling her I'm not feeling very well but she's just so energetic and never stops. Yeah I know, I'm debating ringing the Dr again... But I don't think I want stronger medication but I'm really struggling so feel like I'm in catch 22. I'm still working from home so just working in bed ATM but it is a real struggle. We just need to try to be kind to ourselves. We can only do what we can do... Try and take everything a day at a time and every day done is one less day of nausea.

Nervyy · 02/08/2021 10:25

Morning all, how is everyone today??
5+2 this morning - called the midwife team at chosen hospital this morning and they did the referral but did say it's a bit early šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø
Trying to not be an anxious ball of stress this week - constantly over analysing symptoms and whether or not they're less than the day before etc. Private scan is booked for next Thursday, I just hate all this waiting!! 😩

Lalala1985 · 02/08/2021 10:56

I'm good for now... had really bad cramping yesterday but quickly realised it was from trying to be healthy! Turns out chickpeas don't agree with me! Boob pain fluctuates. I had a few moments of nausea last week but that seems to have mostly disappeared. I'm a bit nervous about that side of things, I'm emetophobic - so fear of vomiting. I haven't been sick since the age of seven, I basically get myself so worked up over being sick that I am not actually sick of that makes sense, but I also don't want to get that worked up as I don't want it to have an effect on the baby. Ive downloaded a bunch of relaxation and breathing apps which I hope will help, and trying to keep myself busy.

What's everyone doing for exercise? I've dropped rollerskating and picked up swimming 2-3 times a week. Also I walk the dog for 30-40 mins a day.

@Lalala1985 such a relief to hear someone else's symptoms fluctuate, sore boobs has been my main symptom since day dot but as they're slightly less sore I'm immediately panicked! Although trying to remind myself that I'm likely just used to it etc.

Also v envious of your energy levels re exercise! I can barely function a full day. But to be honest I have never been one to exercise. My job is fairly active and I'm back in work today so hoping that will keep me awake!

IVFdreams2021 · 02/08/2021 11:04

Hi!

Can I join?

Found out this morning I am pregnant!!! I can't believe I'm writing that!

Baby conceived through IVF (frozen transfer) so officially I'm 4 weeks and 3 days today!!

Have my 6 and 8 week scan booked and I will be on medication until 10-12 weeks.

Feeling very sick this morning and have been really emotional over the TWW.

chillichutneysarnie · 02/08/2021 11:23

Hey @Lalala1985, I'm emetophobic too and barely ever sick, so I know what you mean about getting worked up about it. I'm absolutely praying I'm one of the lucky ones who won't suffer much but I'll probably laugh at myself in a couple of weeks time for having thought I'd get away with it. I guess we just have to go along with the ride... Maybe the experience will cure us!

bubblybrit · 02/08/2021 11:50

@Buttercupdaisys. I keep saying that mummy has a sore tummy. Only seems to result in her prodding it to find out what’s wrong lol šŸ˜‚ I work from home as well but host live online training sessions with contractors so can’t shy away and hence why I’ve been off. GP has signed me off for a week so goodness knows what work will make of that 😬 maybe you should call your GP and see what they suggest as it’s horrible when you are struggling and trying to balance work and home life x

bubblybrit · 02/08/2021 11:52

@Nervyy. I hope your early scan goes well. I’ve still got two weeks for mine and seems a life time away. Was debating bringing it forward for when I’m sick weeks but I know that sometimes they can’t find a heartbeat as early and think that that would cause me extra stress. Clinic have advised me to wait until at least 7 weeks if that’s the purpose of the scan (and not just to find out if the pregnancy is in the right place etc) x

bubblybrit · 02/08/2021 11:55

Welcome @IVFdreams2021. Congrats on your pregnancy!! Not long until your first scan now....how exciting šŸ˜€ x

ChampagneLassie · 02/08/2021 12:41

Hello all I'm 5 weeks today! I'm 38 and It was 3rd cycle trying so I feel incredibly lucky. I had a ectopic age 30. I am SO elated that I've got pregnant. Just booked a scan for 7 weeks because of the previous ectopic, but I'm confident this one will be a normal pregnancy, as my hormones are strong! Keeping everything crossed! Much love to all particularly @IVFdreams2021

heywhatswrongwitu · 02/08/2021 12:42

@IVFdreams2021 I'm 6 weeks 3 days from a FET, have a scan on Friday which I'm excited/ nervous about!

Another one with a 2.5 year old DD here.. yesterday she was pretending to be sick and lying down next to me. Not sure if that's cute or concerning Smile

I haven't been sick but constant nausea, just sipping on cold water, eating toast and digestives/ ginger nuts.

I'm going to have to get a multivitamin, does anyone use a budget version of pregnacare? I'm already paying a fortune for IVF meds..!

I called the midwife unit today. They just said that I will get a call by the midwife and may take up to 3weeks before I hear from anyone. It's my first pregnancy so I ask my sister a lot of questions and she had said I would get a call when I'm 8 weeks (I'm roughly 5.5/6weeks just now).

How are people feeling about covid stuff? Sorry to be a bit of a downer. I'm just curious if any of you are taking extra precautions. We are meant to be travelling abroad for a family wedding but I now don't want to risk traveling and mixing with 200 odd people at a wedding but I suspect the family will think I'm being OTT.

I don't feel its any more of a risk now I'm pregnant. But many people I know are very cautious and won't travel / eat out / etc I think you wouldn't be unusual in not wanting to do this and if being pregnant has changed what you feel comfortable with I'd hope your family would respect that.
Dyra · 02/08/2021 14:35

Wowwee lots more joiners! Welcome! Hello to you all.

I haven't called the midwives yet either @chillichutneysarnie. I had a horrible experience with my first pregnancy contacting them. I had zero idea about my dates, so was going off a Clearblue digital reading. I was effectively told off for calling too early and told to go away and call again in a few weeks. Unfortunately I didn't need to call back in the end. Second pregnancy they had huge issues with staffing, so I think I called about 7 weeks, but they couldn't see me until nearly 12 weeks. This time I'm waiting until I am definitely 6 weeks which will be Friday. There's some uncertainty about dating again, but at least there's been a period to date from this time.

Re. Covid stuff, I don't have much of a choice in the matter, unless I want more of my colleagues to know. The guidance is that where possible to not have any pregnant staff in theatre when there's a Covid positive case, no matter how early on they are. Fortunately I've only had the one Covid positive patient come through thus far. I'm still wearing masks inside shops, on public transport, and at work. Beyond that, I'm carrying on as normal. Got 2 weddings later this year. First at 18 weeks, second at 24 weeks. There'll also be a funeral in the coming weeks, which I will be going to.
