There’s already a March thread but everyone seems so far along already with people
Due at the beginning of March.

I’ve estimated I’m due around 29th of March so thought I’d make a thread for that! Anyone else?
Ive just come back from holiday, I took the tests the first day we got there to check if it could enjoy a cocktail or two.. ended up with mocktails instead! Grin

How are we feeling? Any symptoms yet?

As much as i know it's a risk, I feel fairly confident seeing friends ( we all take COVID tests before any big gatherings) but I am avoiding being on indoor situations as much as possible. Really I think the same as before I was pregnant.
A friend caught COVID in early pregnancy, and although she got rather ill, it all turned out OK, which has reassured me a bit.

BaaBaaEmily · 02/08/2021 15:50

Hi can I join please? I'm 5 weeks today, had a mmc in April so a bit more nervous about this pregnancy, but lucky to already have 2 DC. Hoping this pregnancy will go smoothly!

bubblybrit · 02/08/2021 17:15

Hello @BaaBaaEmily. Congrats on your pregnancy. I had a MMC in December so completely understand the nervousness around a new pregnancy as I’m only 5+4. Are you planning to have an early scan at all?

charley39 · 02/08/2021 20:17

Has anyone had experience with pregnacare causing nausea? I took them throughout the whole of my last pregnancy and was nauseous and sick for probably 8/9months. Started again on Wednesday when I found out I was pregnant and from Friday the nausea has kicked in and slowly getting worse. It could be a total coincidence and it was going to start anyway but just wondered if anyone had the same?

ItsAlice · 02/08/2021 20:44

Hi, sounds like we are all busily feeling awful and stressing so glad it’s not just me! Same here with boob pain and cramping and nausea all fluctuating throughout the day, which makes me stress out too so it’s not just you!

Covid wise I’ve been super cautious throughout as DH is immune compromised so I’ll carry on as we are, staying home more and only seeing people I love and trust enough 🤣

Welcome @BaaBaaEmily - I’ve had a mmc too last October and an earlier loss last June so I totally get the amount it messes with your head. I’ve banged on about this a lot but we’ve been through secondary infertility and I listened to a great podcast (big fat negative) and one of the things they said was ā€œtoday I’m pregnantā€ and I’ve found that mantra has massively helped me. I can’t control what happens but can enjoy the pregnancy I have in the here and now. When I find myself catastrophising and comparing I try to ground myself by thinking that and it’s been so helpful!

@charley39 they are grim aren’t they. I don’t find the contents make me feel sick but they are huge and hard to swallow. I’ve got the liquid and gummies now, neither taste pleasant but I find them a bit easier to stomach, they were on 3 for 2 in Superdrug so might be worth a try?

Sunbird24 · 02/08/2021 20:59

@charley39 I can’t swallow them, or any other prenatal vitamins the same size.

Lalala1985 · 02/08/2021 21:14

@charley39 I had that with the pregnacare conception, but then switched to taking them before bed and just slept through the nausea. I've now switched to seven seas (as the emetophobe in me is hoping that ginger in them will stop any morning sickness) + my 5mg folic acid because I'm fat

charley39 · 02/08/2021 21:19

@ItsAlice @Sunbird24 I literally have to psych myself up for them Sad

@Lalala1985 I’ve been taking them late evening after my dinner but finding the nausea is lasting on and off all day. I’m considering switching back to folic acid and adding vitamin d as single tablets for a few days just to see. Obviously if it makes no difference then I’ll switch back to the pregnacare. I thought I had a couple more weeks before the nausea Sad

Sunbird24 · 02/08/2021 21:22

I’m taking folic acid and vitamin D tablets which are both tiny, with a multivitamin gummy. Still got nausea though

charley39 · 02/08/2021 21:25

@Sunbird24 yes I think I’m just trying to trick myself into not believing I’ll have morning sickness again!

Nervyy · 02/08/2021 22:51

@ItsAlice so frustrating isn't it!! I want to relax and enjoy the pregnancy but I'm constantly prodding my boobs and checking how many times I've peed! I really do think it's lessened in the last 24 hours but I don't know.. It's a never ending anxiety cycle. So so looking forward to 12 weeks, all being well ā¤ļøšŸ¤žšŸ» 48 days to go........ hope you're okay! X
Tushka9 · 02/08/2021 23:45

I'm today 5+1 and few days ago I noticed brown discharge. Does anyone have any spottings? It really upsets me as I've experienced it before and both times it resulted in a miscarriage. I'm thinking to call GP for a referral to get some progesterone support.

Dyra · 02/08/2021 23:46

Pink discharge is becoming increasingly pink. Sad It's only on wiping and there's no clots at least. But that coupled with minor cramping, and negligible pregnancy symptoms, has me worried.

I'm not losing hope. Every woman I know IRL who is pregnant with their second child atm has had bleeding in early pregnancy. They're all in their third trimester now. I'll put a pad on tonight. If there's anything on it, or I'm still wiping pink tomorrow morning, I'll contact EPU to get an appointment. Hopefully it'll clear up overnight and not need to come to that.

Dyra · 03/08/2021 07:29

Update: Good(ish) news. Nothing on the pad. Very small amount of brown on wiping, but it's stopped now. Still a minor bit crampy, but happy enough to continue on without going to EPU. Might confide in someone at work on Friday to see if they'll scan me on the quiet.

Hi @Dyra how are you this morning? Definitely call the GP for a referral. I've had brown/pink spotting (sometimes heavier) for all but one week of my pregnancy so far. I had a scan at the EPU last week and everything was fine. They didn't seem concerned about the spotting/bleeding unless it was filling a pad, which it wasn't. Thinking of you and let us know how you get on x

@Dyra glad to hear good news this morning! Could it be spotting from implantation? Definitely contact EPU if you're concerned but it sounds as though it's possibly normal spotting x
BaaBaaEmily · 03/08/2021 09:49

Thank you for the welcome!
@bubblybrit I think we're going to wait until 8/9 weeks to go for a private scan, are you?
That's a great mantra @ItsAlice will definitely be using that one! I'm trying to relax into it and take it day by day.
That's good news your spotting has stopped @Dyra I would still contact your GP or EPU if you're concerned at all, it's always good to get reassurance.

Glad to hear some better news today, hope it continues for you!

No nausea for me yesterday but it's come back with a vengeance today 🤢 6 weeks tomorrow - each day feels like an age!

bubblybrit · 03/08/2021 10:02

@BaaBaaEmily. I’ve booked a private scan for when I’ll be 7+2. Last pregnancy ended at 6ish weeks but we didn’t find out until our 12 week scan. Therefore would rather know sooner rather than later if the pregnancy isn’t viable. If all ok then I’ll be booking in for the harmony test at 10ish weeks before NHS 12 week scan. Trying to take each day as it comes but seems to be dragging in! Hoping to reach each milestone and then I might feel a bit more positive after 12 weeks have passed.

I'm fat as well but no idea if I need extra folic acid or not, did they tell you that at your booking appointment?

Dyra · 03/08/2021 11:00

Thanks so much everyone. 🄰 I'm less worried now the spotting has stopped. I don't think it was implantation, unless it's still around at 5-6 weeks. Just put it down to one of those things. If it happens again I'll go to EPU.

Dyra · 03/08/2021 11:14

@chillichutneysarnie IIRC if your BMI is above 30 (might be 35) you're advised to take the increased dose of Folic acid. I'm high BMI too. I've tried finding higher dose folic acid in the shops, but haven't found any.

Lalala1985 · 03/08/2021 12:42

@chillichutneysarnie nope, it was actually a bit of a pain to get hold of it. I found out from forums on here, my gp was pretty uninterested in the pregnancy, they passed me to widwives who said they couldn't prescribe, but I could take it from my booking appt at 6 weeks, or pester the go some more. I went back to the go again and eventually got it.

You can actually buy it on Amazon, it's just a bit pricey.

Nervyy · 03/08/2021 14:04

Goodbye POAS, you are toxic šŸ‘‹šŸ»
The last 48 hours or so I've felt like my symptoms have been reducing / disappearing (sore boobs, fatigue, peeing a lot) and although I've had no pain or bleeding I have been really worried about it.
In an attempt to ease my worries, I just took a CB test with weeks indicator. It should definitely be showing 3+ by now as I am 5+3 today but I got 2-3....
I did take the test midday and had peed about 2 hours before and drank 2 big glasses of water since (as I just had routine bloods done - not pregnancy related) so wanted to ensure I wasn't dehydrated as that has happened before and isn't pleasant!! But I can't shake the feeling that it should have shown progression anyway..

I called my EPU and they basically said don't worry and don't use tests to track, if you're not bleeding or in pain then all is probably fine but to call back if I do bleed / am in pain

I have googled to the deepest depths of the internet and from what I can gather, symptoms can fluctuate in a healthy pregnancy and digital tests are a pile of crap that should never be relied on to show progression. A lot of women never get 3+ or are 6/7 weeks when they do etc.

I feel awful but equally, a little reassured

Not sure what to take from all this apart from no bleeding is a good sign and I am way too anxious about everything 😬

Lalala1985 · 03/08/2021 14:48

@Nervyy awww I'm the same I just did my last test this morning - also clear blue digital, I had it left so thought I might as well take it.

On Saturday my boobs stopped hurting... I worried about it all day, and guess what? They came back with a vengeance late Saturday night.
