There’s already a March thread but everyone seems so far along already with people
Due at the beginning of March.

I’ve estimated I’m due around 29th of March so thought I’d make a thread for that! Anyone else?
Ive just come back from holiday, I took the tests the first day we got there to check if it could enjoy a cocktail or two.. ended up with mocktails instead! Grin

How are we feeling? Any symptoms yet?

Hope everything is ok @hopeful234. I don’t have any experience but my best friend had similar. She had to have an early scan due to a previous ectopic pregnancy. Wasn’t bleeding beforehand but had quite a heavy bleed afterwards. All was fine so fingers crossed it’s the same for you.

MyMabel · 28/07/2021 08:55

@AbD82 congratulations to you.. and anyone else
Who’s joined. I can’t keep up with this thread already! 🤭 so many little babies growing!

I had a really vivid dream last night that we went for our 12 week scan and I had twins! Probably because my dads a twin and we were talking about it the other day so it’s in the back of my head šŸ˜‚ I’m not sure I could cope with two more.. two children is my limit and I already have 1!

Congratulations @AbD82. That’s lovely news! So pleased that your early scan allowed you to see a little heartbeat. I have a work event coming up and I’ll need to be smart regarding mocktails etc so no one guesses. Enjoy your city break!

bubblybrit · 28/07/2021 09:00

@MyMabel. I’m also a little worried about twins. It took DH a while to get on board with having a second. If it’s twins then I think he will keep over! We don’t have twins in the family so not sure why I’m worried. Think it’s because I’m 37 and twins are more common as you age.

AbD82 · 28/07/2021 09:06

@MyMabel thank you!!! That was my fear. My partner is a twin and my sister has twins. On telling the sonographer this he did a double check there was just one! 🤣

AbD82 · 28/07/2021 09:09

@bubblybrit thank you! We managed to style it out with my partner going to the bar. However there was a hairy moment where we had to order drinks as part of the group! Ordered a gin and tonic...then chased the pour waitress and said 'no gin, but can you make it look like a gin'! šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤£ Good luck with your work event! The non alcoholic mojitos seem to be the best bet..mainly soda with some fruit and don't look any different! šŸ™Œ

broodyas · 28/07/2021 09:16

@hopeful234 hope all goes well at the EPAU today ā¤ļø

@AbD82 brilliant news about the reassurance scan Smile congratulations! That's hilarious about the gin - we are currently trying to figure out excuses for family and friends as to why I'm not drinking!

bubblybrit · 28/07/2021 09:18

Thanks for the tip @AbD82. It’s a free bar so I’m a bit gutted lol šŸ˜‚ mojito is my favourite so will defo try the non alcoholic version. Colleagues are used to me ordering mojitos anyway!

bubblybrit · 28/07/2021 09:18

@broodyas. Just don’t say that you are on antibiotics šŸ˜‚ any time anyone says that to me I’m like hmmm šŸ¤”

broodyas · 28/07/2021 09:20

@bubblybrit haha I won't don't worry - I have very curious family and friends who would want to know exactly why I'm on antibiotics šŸ˜‚
People knew we were trying so we may just use that as an excuse!

broodyas · 28/07/2021 09:23

Also when are people thinking of telling family/friends?

spookycookies · 28/07/2021 09:24

Got my midwife appointment today. Don't know whether to ask for a scan or not. Had such bad experiences and not sure I can get back in the chair. But also don't want to wait until 12weeks if something is wrong.
I'm so worried about everything. I don't think I'll relax until 23 weeks.

spookycookies · 28/07/2021 09:26

@broodyas

Also when are people thinking of telling family/friends?
I'm going to wait as long as possible. I had to untell people last time and it was heartbreaking. I'd like to wait until 23 weeks but realistically it will be earlier than that as I will be showing by 12. I've told my mum and best friend but that's all.
MyMabel · 28/07/2021 09:28

@broodyas I’ve already told my close friends and family.

I also did it the first time around. I only told the people I knew I would tell if we had a miscarriage, so the people who I know would support us. I’ve done the same this time and have only told my parents, brother & SIL, and a couple of close friends. DP’s dad also knows.

OP posts:
broodyas · 28/07/2021 09:33

@MyMabel that is a really good idea. Hopefully you won't need the support but it's nice to have it there if you need!

@spookycookies can completely understand that too. I really hope your appointment goes well today! I guess there's no right or wrong for telling people and it's just a personal decision. Everything crossed everything goes well for you this time

We ideally wanted to wait until after 12 weeks but we want to tell people in person. DH's family live abroad and we are seeing them when I will be around 10.5 weeks. We might pay for an private early scan and tell people then (or try to get NHS dating scan just after 10 weeks). Otherwise it means another very long trip a couple of weeks later.

AbD82 · 28/07/2021 09:34

@broodyas thanks and congratulations to you too! If you do go down the antibiotic route...say Metrodizanole for an abcess or something as you absolutely cannot drink alcohol with them! Lol! I have a quizzical and medical family so used that one last time 😬🤣

MyMabel · 28/07/2021 09:44

@spookycookies Would having an early scan between now and 12 weeks pit your mind at rest?

I really feel for you, it must be exhausting to be constantly worried. I can’t speak from experience but my SIL found out her baby had severe spinabifida quite late on and I know with her pregnancy after that she was full of worry right up until that point.

I know I need extra scans this time but DD growth started tailing off around 28 weeks so I think I’ll be pretty chilled until then and then I’ll just be waiting on every scan after that point to know if the same is going to happen again.

Why is growing a baby so stressful… how did the cave women do it?!

spookycookies · 28/07/2021 10:03

@MyMabel with my first miscarriage I had a scan at 6 weeks saw a hb and baby was gone two days later. Miscarriage two I saw a hb at 6 weeks and 8+5 all fine. Baby gone by 9+3. So I just don't think it will put my mind at rest at all. I need to do something as I'm just worried all the time. I'm finding it hard. I'm going to talk to the midwife later. I think it's the same one so hopefully she'll know about my history.

MyMabel · 28/07/2021 10:32

@spookycookies oh wow I’m sorry to hear; that must be really tough. Definitely speak to the midwife. I’m guessing you’ll be consultant led too? Hopefully they’ll be able to help out your mind at ease; but it’s only natural to worry, especially what you’ve been through already. Flowers

Thanks so much. I'm also really nauseous which isn't helping generally! Blood is now brown and only when I wipe which is what it was before the scan. I've had a few very small clots. Trying not to worry x
bubblybrit · 28/07/2021 11:14

That sounds promising @hopeful234 as brown blood is old blood. Hope you get some reassurance soon.

Theimpatientworrier · 28/07/2021 11:17

I’m so sorry you’re all experiencing this worry ladies.

I’d built myself up to book myself in with the midwives today, and their phone lines and my doctors phone lines are down - how annoying!

MyMabel · 28/07/2021 15:20

Just had a call from the consultant. I need to take baby aspirin everyday twice a day from 12 weeks this pregnancy, and will have growth scans starting from 26 weeks to monitor the baby.

ItsAlice · 28/07/2021 15:32

Hope you are feeling ok @hopeful234 - it’s just so anxiety making spotting! Hope they check you over again soon.

I’ve just booked for an early scan but they couldn’t get me in until Friday 13th…,which is making me anxious lol! I’ll be almost 7 weeks then so hope we could see a heartbeat.

Did a digital weeks test today, on my dates I’m 4+3 and it said 2-3 weeks so that’s spot on! Which is great, going to do the other one in the pack next Wednesday and hope it says 3+.

Love all the twin phobia! My mates had 5 losses and 3 years of infertility then naturally had twins last year, and as beautiful as they are that looks insanely hard work!!!! That said I can’t dodge a bit of twin-xiety as this is a clomid pregnancy which doubles the chances. That said after what we’ve been through I’d take a whole football team 🤣🤣

Dyra · 28/07/2021 15:53

Always the way @Theimpatientworrier! Hate it when you get yourself psyched up only to be denied by outside forces. Hope you get in contact with the midwife soon.

Out of interest @MyMabel what dosage? I've opted to start taking 150mg aspirin once a day from BFP as I had high Dopplers and eventually pre-eclampsia.

I'm very sure there's no twins on board here. There's some family history on my mother's side, but I think I would have some more tangible symptoms by now.

Family won't be finding out until after 12 week scan. I never want to have to untell people again. I think I'd be ok in the event of an MC.

Hope you're doing ok @hopeful234.
