Hey ladies, thought I'd start a thread for all us mamas due October 2021! Whether you're on your first or your tenth child, let's share our journey together!

My due date is officially 8th October and this is my second baby girl πŸ’œ My DD is 15 months old so I'm gonna have two under two.. god help me πŸ™‰
I'm actually booked in for an elective section this time (reason being is that I have low grade rectocele prolapse and I'm petrified that another vaginal birth will make it worse) my first labour was 4.5 hours from start of initial contractions to birthing her - textbook waterbirth on paper pretty much. I am however starting to reconsider my decision and go for my original plan of a homebirth. DH has just landed a new job only 15 mins away so it changes a lot. Any other ladies looking to try for a homebirth? I know for me personally it takes a lot of the strain off finding childcare, given how quickly I laboured first time round!

Cant wait to hear your stories and share these last few months of our pregnancies with each other! ❀

So exciting all these babies! Not going to lie, I am equal psrts so excited and shitting myself lol, still only 36 weeks too! But we are in Birth Month and that feels very real. Really hope I don't fall into November

@Chameleon2021 Lovely picture! You must be over the moon.

I also really believe my baby has turned now. My movements are all different and changed (timing the same obv). The limbs seems all in my belly button or above and what not so she is defo not in the same place as before because they were all on my side previously. The scan Thursday will comfirm but I do think I am back to vaginal delivery - somewhat upset by realising this as I had talked myself out of it and now shitting it having to go for it again.

NW2021 · 02/10/2021 17:20

@Chameleon2021 congratulations! Beautiful picture.

@summerhillgang how exciting!! It sounds like things are beginning for you!!

@Juicytoot287 I’m the same, so happy to be in the month we’re due to give birth (hopefully!) good news baby has possible turned! You finding you’re getting more aches and pains? I think I’m getting braxton hicks. I’ve had so much more tightening the past couple of days! Defo think my body is getting ready for the final weeks now.

I had my post Covid scan this week and everything is all absolutely fine πŸ₯° baby currently just under 6lb and head down! Been head down for weeks so let’s just hope it stays that way!

Juicytoot287 · 02/10/2021 17:24

@NW2021 I am sure they will stay! Very unlikely to shift back to breech. So glad the scan went well too! A covid chapter closed lol. I am having more aches and stuff yes, another reason I think she is turned now tbh. I just feel sluggish now but am trying to stick to my long walk a day and what not to keep active best I can.
Is it normal to be jealous of all the lovely early due dates in October πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

NW2021 · 02/10/2021 17:39

@Juicytoot287 I feel you with the sluggish ness! I get to about 3/4pm each day and I’m knackered!! And then that’s me done for the day πŸ˜‚ No energy for anything else.

I’m so jealous of the early due dates! Don’t want to wish time away but I’m totally ready for baby to arrive now and for me not to be pregnant πŸ˜‚ as much as it’s been a good journey I want to be able to put socks on without it being a struggle πŸ˜‚

summerhillgang · 02/10/2021 17:49

Omg trying to get socks on and boots off, just impossible. More essential in this beautiful new weather we are experiencing tho.

@Juicytoot287 very impressed by all the walking you're doing! I live in a very hilly place so it's so hard to get about by foot xx

Hungryinthefridge · 02/10/2021 18:55

@summerhillgang no way! The race is on πŸ˜‰ that's funny about the dates and the blender. Have heard dates can get things going so you never know. Have a few appointments until 7th october, so going to try the date thing after that, though maybe not a smoothie as our blender is on its' last legs anyway haha.

@juicytoot287 am pleased for you that your bab has turned but then also feel for you as maybe that's not what you wanted? Re not having a caesarean now? Can you not request an elective if you feel you'd prefer one?

@NW2021 the scan sounds positive. Fingers crossed baby stays head down for you. Like you, I keep having lots of Braxton Hicks. Way more than with my 1st for some reason? Keep saying, this is it...then nothing!

Juicytoot287 · 02/10/2021 19:30

@NW2021 I know, shouldnt wish the time away and shoukd enjoy sleep and prepping etc. But also want to meet her and hate the constant waiting to know when! I am a planner so this is an issue lol

@hungryinthefridge I am not sure. I think even asking I have no real reason other than that I mentally prepared for the idea. So seems an unnecessary risk and I am probably being silly but the thought of labour is worrying me now ahaha probably a rationale fear. Plus every tom dick and harry telling you their horrific unwanted experiences helps... πŸ˜‚πŸ™„

@summerhillgang oh gosh! Hills are my nemesis.. We deliberately go on flat routes. I feel the walk would usually be 40 mins max but I am a bit slow now πŸ˜‚ It does me good I think, fresh air and a change of scenary so I ak glad I do it but i do need my hot water bottle after for my back or hips. Speaking of - Primark have a super long skinny one to wrap around you and it is amazing

MyGrassIsBrowner · 02/10/2021 19:31

Good evening lovely ladies, hope you are all well!
Went for my pre-op today, nice and easy, basically PCR test (though the nurse nearly did choke me with the fricking swab πŸ˜‚) MRSA swab and bloods and then a debrief about the section. I'm the only elective on Monday, my hospital only try to do one a day so I am in at 8am and potentially in theatre by 9am out before 11am all being well.. crazy crazy stuff! She even mentioned potential for same day discharge and as much as I would love that and to be back home, I'm not sure if I'd feel too vunerable lol plus there is possibility of me having complications anyway so we'll see.
I'm feeling strangely calm about it now but DP crapped his pants when they told him to avoid looking at the theatre lights or visors of the surgeons as he'll probably catch a glimpse of my internals lol that put the fear in him a little I must say, poor fella.

Sounds like you ladies due soon are progressing in the right direction (sorry I'm not tagging anyone this is just a quick message to you all) i had a bit of a mad day and we had to drop the pooch off at kennels and get my DD ready for and in bed lol. I'll be honest I'm just looking forward to not carrying this weight around with me anymore. I genuinely believe I'm carrying a biggie this time with the sheer amount of pain I'm in. My feet keep ballooning as well!

Can't wait to start seeing some babies now and I'll make sure I update you all on Monday once I'm settled and no longer numb hehe! Xx

@juicytoot287 oh god. Hope I haven't contributed to that here with my story. Hard to tell who's a first time Mum and who isn't. You don't feel you can bang on about it too much in real life so more comfortable saying online but I completely get how scary it is and hated it when people shared their horrible birth experiences when I was pregnant with my first. So I do understand but see both sides if it now...had the cheek to complain after that "no-one warned me" though haha. You can't have it all! Relaxing is the best way. You literally have no idea how it'll go and that's hard. Either way, you'll get there and have a lovely baby at the end. And don't feel sad if you don't get that rush of love everyone speaks about straight away because it can take time and you're not a bad person if you don't!

@MyGrassIsBrowner so chuffed for you that you have an exact day. Takes some of the worry away and you know their birthday and can plan better! Keep us informed.

Juicytoot287 · 03/10/2021 09:12

Oh no I didn't mean you haha! They tend to be much more detailed and in your face haha so not you at all sorry! @Hungryinthefridge

oh bet you are going to be all on edge until tomorrow excited to meet your new baby! @mygrassisbrowner I hope you are relaxing today and looking after yourself. Tentatively waiting to hear from you tomo!

mooloop · 03/10/2021 09:34

Good luck for tomorrow @MyGrassIsBrowner! Hope everything goes smoothly for you, looking forward to reading your baby announcement when little one arrives! πŸ‘ΆπŸΌ

MyGrassIsBrowner · 03/10/2021 10:18

@Hungryinthefridge totally agree here, feel like you cant say anything negatively about your birth experience to people in R/L. The reality is that childbirth is so unpredictable. If something is starting to go wrong or you feel too overwhelmed then there are ways to manage it. My advice to the FTM mums on here is not to be a marytr, if you need pain relief, get it! The earlier the better. I can safely say though, once that baby is out (by whichever means) you feel like an absolute warrior and the feeling is euphoric. You ladies are gonna do amazingly!

@Juicytoot287 @mooloop thank you both. Must say right now I'm a mix of emotions. I've been getting quite weepy, and I feel really sick lol. I've had such a shit pregnancy and I am in so much pain now so at the same time, I am so ready for it. I'm more concerned for DP now as he's really showing his nerves and I think is quite worried something is going to go drastically wrong. I'm not sure how he'd cope frankly. Broke my heart when he said to me 'you're not leaving us'. I said damn right I'm not my time on this earth isn't up yet! πŸ˜† xx

@Chameleon2021 congratulations on your beautiful baby! And congratulations to @Anynamenottakenplease as well - I hope you are both recovering well and enjoying baby cuddles Flowers

@MyGrassIsBrowner good luck for tomorrow - you will absolutely smash it and I bet you can’t wait for the relief from the pain now. Will be keeping an eye out tomorrow for any updates! So understandable that you and DP are feeling a bit emotional now Flowers

I’m pretty sure baby has dropped here - bump is now SO low and I can eat/breathe/sleep a bit easier thankfully but walking has definitely taken a hit, it’s loads more painful now, lots of pressure and lightening crotch. No signs of anything else and I’m sure it will be weeks yet but nice to have a bit more space in my rib cage!

@summerhillgang how are you feeling? Weather is much better here than yesterday so hope you have a lovely walk today!

MyGrassIsBrowner · 03/10/2021 11:24

@HedgerowRobin Thank you hun! Always a good sign when bump has dropped! And moreso that you have a little more breathing space now, but it definitely gets a bit more uncomfortable in the lower regions for sure πŸ˜† hopefully baby wont keep you waiting too much longer now!

Jesus wept. How is it possible to have sex? We tried this morning but honestly it’s a farce with a bump…..
Sorry that’s about as much as I’ve got today. Fed up!

MyGrassIsBrowner · 03/10/2021 12:22

@Peacefulspirit with my DD I laid on my side with a pillow under my bump and DP got to work. It wasn't comfortable tbh but I went into labour in the evening so I'm forever thankful for his sperm πŸ˜‚

Juicytoot287 · 03/10/2021 13:42

oh my goodness! I feel for DP, no desire whatsoever now I am this size. The thought pf her moving during makes me feel a bit funny too. We had a scare with a bleed at 26 weeks too which then put me off entirely. But i may get desperate so thanks for the tips πŸ˜‚πŸ™ˆ

MeadowHay · 03/10/2021 20:15

Haha we haven't even bothered trying to have sex in a couple of months now tbh, the last few times we tried I just couldn't get comfortable at all with the PGP and things and we ended up just abandoning it so we gave up eventually. Definitely couldn't face it now, you ladies who do have my respect Grin.

Good luck tomorrow @MyGrassIsBrowner will be thinking of you xx !!

I lost a bit more of my mucus plug today. My cold has now gone to my sinuses, which is crap as that tends to take longer to recover from but on the other hand although I'm a bit sore and bunged up with it etc I'm feeling much better in myself today phew. So even if I suddenly go into labour now I'm not going to be feeling super rough. A few more days to recover more and for DH to recover from his horrid cold too would be helpful though please baby...!

Juicytoot287 · 03/10/2021 20:24

@MeadowHay Oh exciting, how far were you when you noticed losing it?
Being one of the last due dates here means I am trying to gauge all the signs from you lovely ladies!

also hope you are settling in for a good night rest @MyGrassIsBrowner. Very excited for you and it will be amazing, rest well x

summerhillgang · 03/10/2021 20:49

@MyGrassIsBrowner good luck tomorrow - very excited for you ❀️

After the bloody show, I have lost some mucus plug today. Got a bit of lower back pain this evening too and some really brutal shooting pains. Not sure if these are labour signs or not, the unknown is so frustrating!

We went for a walk by the sea today, the sun was shining, all lovely, then went for a roast in a noisy pub and felt I like I was having a panic attack, had to go stand outside and was crying but couldn't really identify what was upsetting me. Like a huge sudden mood swing which is really unusual for me. Poor DH, he just wanted his Sunday roast lol. We ate and left quickly! I've had another nap and stuffed my face again.

Hope everyone's had time to relax this weekend xx

MeadowHay · 03/10/2021 20:51

@Juicytoot287 I had some about 4 or 5 days ago now when I was just under 39w and then some more today. No blood though so it's not a proper show so it doesn't really mean anything as could still be ages yet. In my first pregnancy I didn't get any of it coming away until after I had a sweep, but I was already in early labour at the time, had been having sore, increasing-in-strength contractions for many hours before I had the bloody show. That was at 39+6. I never had any 'signs' then until I was already having sore contractions iyswim, the contractions just suddenly started one morning and the other 'signs' didn't happen until later that day, like vomiting, diarrhea, and the show...not pleasant unfortunately! I'm 39+3 now so perhaps not much longer to go!

MyGrassIsBrowner · 03/10/2021 21:36

@Juicytoot287 @MeadowHay @summerhillgang Thank you so much ladies. Feeling super nervous now but completely excited to meet my little lady! Can't wait to update you all tomorrow!

I hope you're all okay yourselves! You're all so close now (I know at this point it doesn't seem it) when I went overdue with my DD that final week felt like a month! If any of you are being offered a sweep, I would recommend trying it! If your cervix is favourable it can well and truly kick things off. I had 3 sweeps in the end, and to be honest I've had worse smears. Xx

@MyGrassIsBrowner Thinking of you, hope you managed to get in early and are enjoying some newborn cuddles!

mooloop · 04/10/2021 14:54

Hey all!

Been for my scan today to cheek and baby is in perfect position after all πŸ˜‚ it was amazing to see his little face, sticking his tongue out at us πŸ₯° onto waiting for hopefully natural labour to kick off it is!

@MyGrassIsBrowner thinking of you today, hope all went well!

Juicytoot287 · 04/10/2021 15:02

Oh how cute you got to see their face @mooloop . How are you feeling about it all now? I feel anxious for Thursday as I had settled in for ELCS but think my baby has turned too
