Hey ladies, thought I'd start a thread for all us mamas due October 2021! Whether you're on your first or your tenth child, let's share our journey together!

My due date is officially 8th October and this is my second baby girl πŸ’œ My DD is 15 months old so I'm gonna have two under two.. god help me πŸ™‰
I'm actually booked in for an elective section this time (reason being is that I have low grade rectocele prolapse and I'm petrified that another vaginal birth will make it worse) my first labour was 4.5 hours from start of initial contractions to birthing her - textbook waterbirth on paper pretty much. I am however starting to reconsider my decision and go for my original plan of a homebirth. DH has just landed a new job only 15 mins away so it changes a lot. Any other ladies looking to try for a homebirth? I know for me personally it takes a lot of the strain off finding childcare, given how quickly I laboured first time round!

Cant wait to hear your stories and share these last few months of our pregnancies with each other! ❀

@Juicytoot287 it does sound like it could be early labour signs... I don't think anything to be worried about per se but defo a good time to rest and refuel xx

MyGrassIsBrowner · 30/09/2021 14:10

@Juicytoot287 I'd be tempted to take some paracetemol and have a nice bath if you can then re-access in an hour or so. The pressure especially if it's intermittent could well be signs of early labour. I remember the feeling of pressure when I went into spontaneous labour, but then it was coupled with the intense lower back cramps. Period pains x10 πŸ™‰

Yeah they aren't that strong and it really could just be her having moved low and pressing on me. I am just a bit meh and icky which is the only thing concerning me. Have come for a lie down to see if changing position and rest shifts it. If it does , fab! And if not I think I will call just to be reassured. Probably nothing

Anynamenottakenplease · 30/09/2021 20:24

Baby girl arrived today at 15:09. Won’t go into details as it was a pretty traumatic experience and don’t want to upset/worry people but we are both good now Smile

Juicytoot287 · 30/09/2021 20:35

congratulations @Anynamenottakenplease

I hope you are recovering well, Sorry it wasnt a pleasant experience for you! Almost made it to October lol! Must be so nice to have her here

Ooo I think something might be happening... had a bit of a bloody show this morning and have some cramps - eek 😬

Peacefulspirit · 01/10/2021 08:13

@Anynamenottakenplease I’m sorry your LSCS didn’t go to plan. Please ask about Birth Reflections, or a postnatal counselling/debriefing service when you’re ready. Your trust should provide something and it really helps to talk through what happened to reduce long lasting trauma. Loads and loads of love.

@summerhillgang Im not having a homebirth this time, for a couple of reasons though I’m beginning to regret my choice. My homebirths were so amazing and beautiful but there’s 4 other children knocking about and I’m not sure how peaceful it would be, also my trust are being dicks about supporting homebirth at the minute but that’s another story! Plan is for pool delivery at MLU and straight home!
@Juicytoot287 how are you feeling? It must be quite a different feeling if baby has turned to cephalic, heads are bonier than bums!
Hope everyone else is well, it feels very Autumny out there x

mooloop · 01/10/2021 08:24

@summerhillgang how exciting!! Keep us posted 🀞🏻

Peacefulspirit · 01/10/2021 09:00

Hope we've had a couple of arrivals by now and the sections went well! πŸ’–
Cannot wait for my section on Monday now. This pregnancy has been pretty blumming awful for me this time. Of course I am totally blessed that I have been able to carry a child but equally it has been a tough ride. Kind of sad our journeys are almost at an end though ladies! Those of you due end of the month, time will pass quickly for you!
DD goes off to gran and grandads on Sunday and the dog goes into kennels. Going to be the first time in god knows how long that me and DP will have some time on our own for the evening with absolutely no responsibilities! I'll be twiddling my thumbs!
We're going to order a takeaway and settle down with a nice movie (something funny I think) to keep my mind of the fact that I'm going to be sliced open the next morning πŸ™ˆ deep down I'm super nervous! X

Congratulations @Anynamenottakenplease . So sorry to hear you've had a bad time of it. I did have a birth debrief after mine which I did find helpful. Hope you and baby are both safe and well and recovering xx

@summerhillgang good luck to you too! Hope you're not stuck in the latent phase for too long, I think that's what was the killer for me in my first tbh left me too tired. I should have tried to sleep more, I was too anxious/excited and in pain so I didn't try to nap but I really should have tried as my labour went on soooo long in the end. So my advice is get as much rest as you can before you're in active labour!!

I am still feeling lousy AF with my cold so still desperately hoping baby doesn't fancy making an arrival any time soon anyway. Also weirdly my PGP has actually been better than usual over the last fortnight or so Confused. Currently waiting for the midwife to arrive for a 39w appt whilst DD has a nap. DH is coming home from work early today thankfully to take over with DD soon so I can retreat to bed.

Peacefulspirit · 01/10/2021 16:09

Hope it goes ok @MeadowHay not long now. I’m getting really bored. I’ve even taken 2 shifts this weekend (at 39 weeks)
I also vaguely remember having a cold before 2 of my labours, maybe it’s a sign of something brewing? X

MeadowHay · 01/10/2021 17:13

Thanks @Peacefulspirit. All fine at my appointment, and she is going to book me in for induction for the 19th when I will be 41+5. It's a good day for me too as DD is in nursery 19th and 20th. She's coming back next Fri for 40w appt and said Incan have a sweep then if I want. Not sure yet whether I will want one or not tbh hmm. Was so painful last time but then I don't want to have to be induced and also if I did go in to labour on a weekend that would be quite convenient for childcare/DH's work purposes lol.

Peacefulspirit · 01/10/2021 19:02

I totally hear you. There are definitely days which are more convenient for us from a childcare point of view! Knowing madam she will pick the most in opportune moment!

Chameleon2021 · 02/10/2021 07:54

Morning!! I tried to post twice in hospital but doesn't look like it worked!

Section was fine. Not something I want to repeat in a hurry but we are both safe and well!

Baby George born 6lb 15oz and he's perfect!!

Oh my goodness. Welcome to the world George, he’s gorgeous @Chameleon2021 ❀️

Hungryinthefridge · 02/10/2021 10:51

@Chameleon2021 Congratulations sweet. Lovely picture.

Am due in 4 days and trying to focus beyond that because it's unlikely to be on the day! Water's went on my due date with the last one though, so you never know! Have swimming and a massage booked for 5th, so hopefully the relaxation gets things going before sweeps and inducing get a mention Wink.

Getting excited now, got the house almost ready, just general tidying to do. Hoping for a 'natural' birth at the MLU (attached to a hospital) this time after a truly horrible induction last time...but will wait with bated breath! You get what you're given after all haha. Hope everyone else is doing okay? X

mooloop · 02/10/2021 14:21

Awww congratulations @Chameleon2021! Gorgeous boy 😍

summerhillgang · 02/10/2021 16:21

@Chameleon2021 gorgeous babies! You must be made up.

Just to update ladies, am getting more brown discharge today but cramps have eased. I think it's the cervix ripening / opening and might be several days till we get some action. Got acupuncture booked for Tuesday to get things moving.

Hot curry and sex tonight. Long walk tomorrow. Been bouncing on the ball all day and have started watching the Harry Potter films again. Fire on and storm outside, so defo feel the oxytocin flowing.

@Hungryinthefridge we have the same due date! I drank a smoothie with about 10 dates in it before my bloody show happened, not sure if they are related but it almost broke the blender it was so thick lol

@MyGrassIsBrowner you're next I reckon! Hope you have a lovely childfree day tomorrow xx
