I've just found out Im pregnant - due Mid March next year so literally only 4 weeks. Dying to tell people already 🤦🏼‍♀️ anybody else in a similar boat? Who have you told how did you announce it?

It'd be lovely to chat to people in a similar situation!

Oh @JuneySunshine I'm sorry to hear about the Papp A results, that must have been a very worrying letter to receive (although great news about being low risk for the chromosomal syndromes). And as you say, awkward and stressful timing with guests to entertain!

I confess I hadn't heard of Papp A so had to look it up, but it does certainly sound like the majority of pregnancies with low count still progress normally. And also very good that there's an effective treatment in the form of something as simple as aspirin. I hope the midwife/hospital will be supportive, do you get an appointment to discuss the results with them before you see the consultant in a few weeks?

@AlwaysSeekingComfort Great news that you heard baby's heartbeat! Must have been amazing. Hope the cramps ease off soon!

JuneySunshine · 11/09/2021 22:34

Thanks @paperfleur always something to worry about. Tbh I don't know about the appointment. Like I say I got the impression that if you were getting worrying news you'd hear by phone not by letter. So either they don't think this is sufficiently worrying or it's not worked out due to it being a Saturday etc. As it happens I have an 16w check booked in early for the Monday after next so i can discuss with the midwife then if not before.

How was the massage?

AlwaysSeekingComfort · 13/09/2021 16:06

Hey @JuneySunshine … no they didn’t say, however the cramps have stopped thank god, think they ended up stopping late Saturday.

13w 3 congrats! And fab news your risk was low for all x3 syndromes! I also got my results last week:

Nuchal measurement- 1.2mm
Free b-hcg- 0.81 MoM
PAPP-A- 1.19 MoM

Please please do not worry about the low PAPP-A, as you say, other countries don’t even measure it! So it can’t be that important! And as it says, you can lower your risk by taking low dose aspirin.. maybe start that with the advise of your MW? I can’t comment on if there are other things you can do as this is my first so am clueless too lol.

Extra checks are always good! Means you may get to see the baby more too!! Try stay calm, I don’t think there’s any need to worry at all!

@PaperFleur thanks lovely! Hope you are ok!

PaperFleur · 14/09/2021 16:52

Hello everyone, hope your weeks are off to a good start!

@JuneySunshine Good point on the letter vs the phone call, your Papp A results definitely can't be anything that you need to deal with urgently then or they would have rung you. I hope your mind is set at ease once you've chatted with the midwife, and then the consultant when you meet them. As @AlwaysSeekingComfort said, it's nice that you'll get extra sneak peeks at baby!
And I had a lovely massage thanks, it was so relaxing, I really recommend it! It was pretty similar to a normal full body massage except you laid on your side for them to do your back, rather than lying on your stomach. I'll definitely go back for more as often as I can afford it!

I got my results letter back and am thankfully low risk for the 3 syndromes - they didn't give me my blood test results though, so not sure what my levels are for the various hormones.

@AlwaysSeekingComfort Really glad to hear your cramps have stopped!

Is anyone else still feeling nauseous? I'm 14+1 now and am still getting nausea late evening/overnight. I had a couple of nights last week when I was fine so I thought haha, it's stopped...but I clearly spoke too soon as it's now back with a vengeance! Other than that I'm feeling quite perky now the tiredness of the first trimester has passed.

Have any of you started telling friends/family now? We have - it's mostly been by phone/message as not many are local (face to face is more fun though!), but it's been really nice! It's the kind of news that makes others happy too and it seems particularly welcome after the last 18 months of chaos!

Nicola2182 · 14/09/2021 17:32

Hello all,

I'm due 9th March - I got my combined results the other day and it was low risk so I feel really relieved.

Has anyone still got bad sickness? I'm 15 weeks tomorrow and my morning sickness is still going strong, I've had to take anti sickness medication for weeks now 😩

AlwaysSeekingComfort · 26/09/2021 14:07

Hello my fellow mummas. Just posting on here to see how we are all getting on? We are all well into the 2nd tri now (I will be 16w tomorrow!). How is everyone feeling? Anyone got any “new” 2nd tri symptoms or are you feeling much better from the first tri?

An update on me, I have my 16w MW appointment on Friday. I also don’t feel pregnant at all, I literally have no bump (am a size 8 and 5ft5 to give you some perspective) I wake up with a flat stomach but then as soon as I eat the bloat kicks in and then I have a little belly but I know that isn’t the baby…. It’s a food baby 🤣. Anyone else got a bump?

Nice to hear updates from you all x

Deedee08 · 26/09/2021 14:27

@AlwaysSeekingComfort 15 + 2 days now still fatigued and sore boobs. I just want my energy back, i have been asking my friends if they all lied about 2nd tri being all rainbow and sunshine lol

I have a cute bump with a visible linea Nigra. Not sleeping well due to horrendous leg pain at night on both legs. Aside all that i am all gold lol.

Glad to hear yours is going well. Hope you had a nice weekend

Milly238 · 26/09/2021 20:52

@AlwaysSeekingComfort hope you’re doing well! 😊 I think it’s very normal to not have a bump yet at this stage! I know all women are different but from what I’ve read online many FTM at this stage don’t have a visible bump until at least 18 weeks. In the past week, I’ve gone from having absolutely nothing (like I swear my stomach was flatter than it was in the first tri!) to now having a little bump which is not noticeable with clothes on. I started experiencing a bit of round ligament pain this week so I wonder if it’s now in the early stages of growing! I’m with you though on not feeling pregnant. It is so lovely to have the energy back!

@Deedee08 oh bless you! That is so rubbish you’re still feeling so tired. Hopefully it starts to get better for you Flowers

Is anyone else planning on finding out whether they are having a boy or a girl before the birth?

Catconfusion · 27/09/2021 11:55

Hello ladies, can I join? I'm actually due 31st March but I'm likely to have an elective at 39 weeks so more like 24th March all being well. I'm 13 plus 4 today.

It's been a rough ride so far with hyperemesis. Also had a slightly increased nt at the 12 week scan but luckily came out low risk all things considered. Literally can't wait for the 20 week scan now. I'm 42 and have a ds aged 18 months already. Xx

AlwaysSeekingComfort · 27/09/2021 12:16

@Milly238 oh did you? I haven’t had any round ligament pain yet. I am finding out the gender this Friday! I am sooo nervous…. I don’t care what he/she is! Just want the baby healthy. I hope they will do some checks like how the baby is growing etc as I know past 14w they don’t use CRL anymore I believe, they go by femur length etc (correct me if I am wrong ladies)? Are you going to find out or keep it a surprise?

@Catconfusion welcome and congrats!!!! Oh bless you! Hopefully the HG eases off soon!!! Pleased to hear r.e. the low risk.. what was the NT measurement? Yes 20w scan cannot come quick enough! Mines at the end of Oct!

💐

Catconfusion · 27/09/2021 13:11

@AlwaysSeekingComfort thanks for the welcome and good luck for Friday. You must be so excited. I can understand the nerves. Scans terrify me. They have a duty of care to check the general health of the baby so it should hopefully be reassuring. It'll be lovely for you to know the sex.

My nt was 2.8 so due to my age the consultant thought it would come back high risk as it's at the upper end of normal. Thankfully my bloods were great. In fact my Papp A was 3X the average level which is the sign of a strong placenta. My result was 1 in 426 for ds and 1 in 45000 for the others. My background risk without tests is 1 in 61 for ds so I was happy with the results being far less than this. I just hope the nt isn't a sign of something else. Apparently in 94% of cases with an nt like mine it's absolutely fine. Anyway the nhs can't offer any more tests as the results look good so I'm just trying not to worry. Xx

treesall · 28/09/2021 09:17

Hi ladies. I'm 16w today, and due to stop my meds which prevent miscarriage in 2 days time. I'm so very nervous it will all go wrong when I come off the meds. I think I will be scanned on Thursday before the miscarriage clinic discharge me so just hoping that's all ok. I don't want to know the gender so hoping they wont accidentally give it away!

I'm feeling so much better than a few weeks ago, at 12w I got a sudden burst of energy and felt normal again. Now I seem to be a bit more tired again but nothing like before so I'll take it! Hope everyone is doing well.

LydiaAW · 01/10/2021 17:10

Hello all!
I wondered if I could join this thread. I'm due 28th March however we've found out it's twins so we're likely looking a bit earlier now! 14 weeks at the moment.
I've been reading this thread for a while and it's great to read about all the scans. I was so nervous beforehand but it was amazing to see the babies.
I was wondering if anyone has started to feel their babies? I'm getting slight pressure or what could be some form of butterflies but I wonder if it's all in my head!!

JuneySunshine · 04/10/2021 18:02

Hello everyone,

Lovely to hear updates and see some new joiners.

@treesall I can understand that must be nerve-wracking to stop the medication even if deep down you know they would never recommend anything risky. How did you get on on Thursday? The second tri burst of energy has definitely alluded me :D

@LydiaAW Welcome and congratulations on your little ones Flowers are there twins in your family history? And are you expecting a little earlier as that happens naturally or do they tend to induce twins? No movement here at 16w5d so waiting impatiently.

@AlwaysSeekingComfort Really hope the scan went well, would love an update and any news on the gender reveal plans :) So interesting to hear about bump progress- I'm a size 10 and 5"3 and the bump is getting bigger all the time! It's now out past my boobs from a side view despite the pregnancy pushing my bra size up to an E Confused

No real new symptoms here, a bit of nausea and tiredness in the mornings still lingering. I am enjoying the second trimester though and after the early weeks draaggging everything now seems to be flying by. Over half way between my 12w and 20w scan now and looking forward to a closer look at bubs at the end of the month.

Really hope all is well with everyone x

LydiaAW · 06/10/2021 08:22

Thanks @JuneySunshine Grin!

It was such a shock the twins - they're non-identical so that would run through my mothers side. She was adopted so we had no idea it was a possibility!

The first trimester was so awful, the sickness was constant but I'm finally feeling a bit more human. And growing by the day. Does anyone have any maternity clothes recommendations?!

I hope everyone is doing well today and this week. Counting down the days until our 20 week scan!

treesall · 06/10/2021 12:34

Thanks for you message @JuneySunshine. I got on well, scan was fine and am officially discharged from my miscarriage consultant. Today marks a week since I last took any medication so Im pretty nervous but the consultant was confident that all will be fine. Eeeek! I really wish I'd start to feel movement soon. I did with my son at this stage but I have an anterior placenta this time and so not expecting to for a while yet. It's so reassuring once the movement starts.

Wow @LydiaAW! Twins!! So exciting!

@JuneySunshine I feel like time is passing more quickly too now. (Thankfully!). If I can just get to 20weeks I might actually start to feel like I'm really going to have a baby and let myself enjoy it and feel pregnant.

Miss35 · 06/10/2021 13:45

Hi everyone I not been on since announcing my pregnancy hope all is well with everyone . My 20 week scan is 2 nd nov I’m ever so scared I keep thinking worse . With my other two I wasn’t like this worried now I’m worried thinking bout all things could go wrong watching TikTok visits aren’t helping either but so addictive . I know every women bump is different myb if my bump was showing more I had ppl comment oh u don’t look 4 months u so small etc which then brings me back to worries .

Nikkixx · 17/10/2021 01:06

Hey sorry for bit updating... I unfortunately found out in the 12 week scan that my baby had stopped growing. I had surgical management and I'm on the road to recovery, just wanted to say thanks to you all for all the support xx

AlwaysSeekingComfort · 17/10/2021 08:55

Hey @Nikkixx I am soooo sorry to hear this 💐 I hope you are on the mend now. Sending you big hugs! X

@JuneySunshine thanks for asking… it’s not been the best time tbh. We didn’t have a positive 16 private scan like we’d hoped. The sonographer said one of the baby’s kidneys was enlarged….. and that’s about it, he couldnt tell me much more and told me to wait til my 20w scan (which is still 2w away!). The past 2w have been hell as all I’ve been doing is worrying and googling!!! Found it it’s a soft marker for DS. But also read that it’s common (in boys), we we are having a little girl 🌸. I struggled to get excited about our gender reveal party with family as it was weighing heavily on my mind that we might get bad news or discover further complications @ the 20w scan. So for now, I am in limbo.

However I have been feeling her moving around in there. Little thumps and flutters, which is such a magical feeling. Anyone else felt baby yet?

I hope you and everyone else on here is OK? 💐

JuneySunshine · 17/10/2021 09:34

Hi @Nikkixx I'm so sorry to hear that, that must have been so hard for you. Glad to hear you're recovering.

Hi @AlwaysSeekingComfort sorry to hear that, it must be worrying. Presumably if the sonographer was really concerned they would refer you back to the NHS? Was anything like that mentioned or ruled out?
The googling is appalling isn't it, and with you're other screening done I'm sure it's nothing but it's so hard to not worry over such a long period. Totally understand about the party too. I've had no checks on bubs since I heard the heartbeat at 14+3. I felt really positive then but the wait is so long I'm now really nervous for the 20w scan in a week and a half. We told family and friends we'll see (its getting quite obvious!) but we're holding back from telling the world and his wife until the next scan. Hopefully in a couple of weeks you'll be reassured and party planning again 🌺

Delighted for you knowing you're having a little girl, and also that you're feeling her moving already! I've had some feelings but I wouldn't describe them as flutters, they're a bit more like the tugging sensation of early on and so irregular I'm not really sure what I'm feeling. Really looking forward to having that regular connection.

Hope everyone is well x

AlwaysSeekingComfort · 17/10/2021 12:12

@JuneySunshine thank you. Tbh I find the people at WTTW not medicinally knowledgeable…. I feel they are more of a novelty if that makes sense. He didn’t really say much, just said don’t worry about it for now, wait until the 20w scan to see what they find/say. It wasn’t severe enough to refer, but it wasn’t within the normal range and is larger than it should be from what I got from them.

And awwww bet your dieing to see your little one! Not long, your scan is around the same time as mine. Hope yours goes well and you enjoy seeing bubba again! Fab news you’ve told family/friends now! Yes I hope and pray we don’t get any bad news at the 20w scan or anymore Suprises to rock our baby bubble boat.

That’s probably baby… now they’ve started you’ll probably find they start to become maybe more regular or if not, more intense. Mine are definitly happening more now compared to a week ago. I wonder what you are having 🌸💙?!

Enjoy your Sunday x

toadstool32 · 17/10/2021 12:28

Hi all, been rubbish at keeping up with the thread I'm afraid. I'm now 20+2 with dc3. After two daughters we are having a little boy. 20week scan was perfect on Friday but lots of aching today; these babies are set to try us.

Milly238 · 17/10/2021 12:30

@Nikkixx I’m so sorry to hear about this ❤️❤️ Happy to hear you’re on the mend though - look after yourself lovely and best of luck XXXX

@AlwaysSeekingComfort bless you - so sorry they worried you with that ❤️ Sending you lots of hugs - I’ve had a couple scans with WTTW and I agree that they are not medically knowledgable on a level anywhere near sonographers in hospitals and found that the scans, although lovely, were quite rushed and not in anywhere near as much detail so hopefully it doesn’t mean anything concerning. I’d try (easier said than done I know!) not to worry until your 20 week scan and try to do nice things or treat yourself in the mean time to keep your mind off it as much as possible. Also how fab it is you having a little girl!! 🎀 I’m having the same so I’m super excited for you! It’s so lovely to feel baby move isn’t it?

@JuneySunshine best of luck for your scan lovely! Also that sounds like your baby moving to me 😊 my movements started off as tugging/moving gas type feelings low down. So exciting!

Nikkixx · 18/10/2021 10:51

Thankyou guys I'm praying for safe deliveries for you all try not to worry and just enjoy the journey x

JuneySunshine · 29/10/2021 09:28

Hello,

How's everyone doing as we enter 20w scan season?

I had mine yesterday and I'm not going to Iie, I had a week of worry leading up to it. But it went well! Baby-cakes was being a little monkey and wiggling around while obscuring the sonographer's view of various key areas so we need to go back in 10 days so she can try to get a good look at the heart, lip and base of the spine again.

Everything she could see and measure was all good and the head, abdomen and leg measurements were all on track and in proportion. The detail on the screen, seeing all their little ribs and things was amazing. If anyone is planning on keeping the sex a surprise they were lovely about that too, just asked at the beginning if they should take a look and when we said we didn't want to know asked us to look away from the screen while she had a look at the legs.

How are movements for people now? @Milly238 you were right I definitely was feeling movement as I'm feeling more and more. I think I'm only feeling them when they're pushing it with the space they have as the feelings are normally over to the side rather than central. I could see on the scan they were wiggling around but not feel it at all! Sure we'll be feeling every little thing eventually.

Hope everything is well with everyone Flowers
