I've just found out Im pregnant - due Mid March next year so literally only 4 weeks. Dying to tell people already 🤦🏼‍♀️ anybody else in a similar boat? Who have you told how did you announce it?

It'd be lovely to chat to people in a similar situation!

Hello @Jay210 congrats 💐 and welcome! You are 2days behind me. I also had bleeding & went EPU and they confirmed it was a SCH. Also had a private scan Monday which showed its still there. Spotting isn’t uncommon. If you can afford it, maybe book a private scan to give you some reassurance? Is this your first? X

Deedee08 · 13/08/2021 07:13

@treesall i can totally relate, i am exhausted all the time. Hopefully it will pass soon, hang in there Smile

AlwaysSeekingComfort · 15/08/2021 15:26

Hey all…. How is everyone?

I’ve just started getting some brown blood again :( … next private scan isn’t for another 8 days. Hoping it’s from the SCH and nothing else!! So long to wait and find out though…. Ahhhh x

Lilypad121 · 15/08/2021 15:59

Hi all, joining in here. We'd been TTC for 5 years and were about to start ivf when I got my BFP totally unexpectedly!
I'm currently 10+1, I've had 2 early scans. First one dated me at 6+5 (with strong heartbeat) which freaked me out as I thought I would've been a week further along. Had another scan a week later and was 7+5 so that was really reassuring! I know I ovulate late so I guess that's what happened. I've another scan later this week so hoping it's grown at the right rate!
Like a few others here, my symptoms are fairly minor. I'm feeling a little tired in the evenings, waking up in the middle of the night to pee and my appetite has def increased but no nausea at all. Hope all our pregnancies run smoothly! Smile

JuneySunshine · 15/08/2021 17:54

Hi @Jay210 and welcome. Our dates are close, I'm 9w today. Also had some spotting weeks 5 and 6, always in the morning so assumed it was just implantation/ stretching overnight.

Hey @AlwaysSeekingComfort that must be worrying. Is it in line with what they told you to expect with the SCH? Sure all is fine but nice to have another scan on the horizon Smile

Hi @lilypad121 and congratulations Flowers what a time for bean to make an appearance! Those scan dates sound really reassuring.

All is good here, I met my midwife last week and have my 12w scan next Monday. Weirdly due to a long cycle I think I'll only be 10w+1 at that point. I did mention that to my midwife but she said to go ahead and it will just mean they call me back again a couple of weeks later to finish measurements. I've had no scans at all yet so feeling pretty nervous about the possibility of MMC etc and wishing the days away really. I've has quite a lot of symptoms (nausea, constipation, sore boobs, tiredness) so I suppose that's reassuring.

Anyone else out there still waiting for there first scan?

AlwaysSeekingComfort · 15/08/2021 18:06

Hey @JuneySunshine yes, they said I could get some more bleeding, but it’s still unnerving. I’ve also had some cramping today which has worried me. And to top it off, my wisdom tooth is playing up and I’m in soo much pain… double whammy.

Good you’ve had symptoms!!! Good luck with your scan. I’m sure all will go well, so exciting! Let us know how you get on! X

coinkidinks · 15/08/2021 19:06

Hi everyone! Finally jumping on after following the group as I've been nervously waiting for my first scan, which I had on Friday!

@JuneySunshine like you I also ovulate very late and I have been tracking my cycle closely this time so when the midwife put me at 13weeks+ I knew she was wrong, but I really wanted to get a scan done so I let her book me in lol- when I had my appt the sonographer asked how far along I thought I was and I said about 10weeks, and it turns out I'm measuring 10w3days exactly! Smile I was nervous about not being able to see much at the appt or having to do an internal because it's before 12wks, but I drank about 2litres of squash an hour before, and they managed to see everything very clearly- even little hands and feet have formed already which was amazing to see! Got some lovely clear pics as well which is always nice.

Despite being baby no.4 I've been the most nervous this time due to a bigger age gap since last baby, and being closer to 40, so feeling much better since the scan! Hope everyone else is doing well and gets their much awaited cute scan pics soon!

Also does anyone know what happened to the original Due March 2022 thread after it filled up? Is there a part 2 to it, or is this the part 2?

JuneySunshine · 15/08/2021 19:19

@Alwaysseekingcomfort Oh poor you!! Sad Wisdom tooth sounds aggravating, is it just coming through? Totally understand it is unnerving not being able to tell one thing from another.

Hi @coinkidinks welcome and thank you so much for sharing! It's so strange they insist on going off LMP when I know full well I ovulated on day 28. But delighted to hear your scan was clear and really hoping for the same over here.

With the threads, these two were always running alongside. I didn't see there was a part 2 to the other thread, doesn't seem anyone picked it up again Smile

treesall · 15/08/2021 19:25

@AlwaysSeekingComfort I'm sorry you are having a bit of bleeding again, what a horrible stress. Fingers crossed everything is fine though.

@coinkidinks welcome and congratulations on your perfect scan. I didn't realise they can see hands etc so early! I did have a 10w scan worth my first but I can't remember much now. I have my third scan on Tuesday when I should be 9+6...I'm petrified!

treesall · 15/08/2021 19:26

Oh and congratulations @Lilypad121! Welcome to the thread.

PaperFleur · 19/08/2021 14:12

Afternoon all, and welcome to the newcomers!
I had a private scan today and measured 10+3, a few days ahead of what I was expecting - all looked great and like you @coinkidinks, I was impressed by how much is visible already! Seeing baby bouncing about was lovely, if a bit surreal as of course you can't feel it, so it's hard to believe that's actually happening inside me if that makes sense! I've never got this far along before so really hoping all continues to go well.
@AlwaysSeekingComfort - I hope all looks good with baby and your SCH at the next scan. I was diagnosed with an SCH at 6 weeks and had daily brown spotting for 3 1/2 weeks straight after that, before it stopped at the end of last week. At today's scan the SCH had completely gone, so whilst it is worrying to be having brown bleeding, it's hopefully a good sign that the SCH is emptying out!
@treesall How did your scan go?

Kipkay35 · 19/08/2021 14:37

Hi everyone! Can I join? 9+3 with number 1. It took 1 year to conceive. I had a scan on Monday and the start of arms & legs. So cute.

I'm still feeling really anxious as I have no symptoms. Anyone else having no symptoms?

My nuchal is on 8th September, I think I'll relax a bit after that and will be start telling people. I always thought I'd be very open about a pregnancy but I'm really scared to admit it's real! Anyone else feel the same?
Good luck everyone Smile

Milly238 · 19/08/2021 15:11

Congrats to everyone who’s joined and had great scans recently! ❤️

@Kipkay35 congratulations lovely! I also had a scan when I was 9 weeks and it was so amazing to see arms and legs! Please don’t worry about lack of symptoms. I’ve had barely any ‘classic’ pregnancy symptoms (no nausea, sickness etc) this pregnancy so far and everything looked good at both my scans at 6 and 9 weeks so we just have to just trust that we’re among the lucky ones who don’t suffer too much in their first trimester! ☺️ And yes I always feel nervous every time I tell someone new and sometimes stop myself getting too excited because it still doesn’t feel real to me!

treesall · 19/08/2021 17:05

@PaperFleur thank you for asking. My scan was good! Measured bang on dates at 9+6. Every day that passes I'm getting more anxious because I'm more and more invested in the pregnancy so I just desperately hope this works out.

I've finally plucked up the courage to do the self referral and just had a call to tell me my booking in apt will be next week. They also have booked me for an early scan, despite me saying I didn't need one as I've had private ones so I'm feeling lucky that I'll either get reassurance next week or at least I'll find out sooner rather than later if it's gone wrong.

Super pleased for you that you had a great scan, yay!!

Bodgers · 19/08/2021 17:11

Hey all, due march 2022 here. Currently 11 wks, scan next week, fingers crossed. Just wondering if anybody else is planning to get vaccinated if you're not already? I had 1st dose before getting pregnant, planning to have second at 14 weeks, but would love to know what you're doing

PaperFleur · 20/08/2021 14:30

@treesall Excellent, great to hear that all was looking good at your scan! I hope your booking appt and next scan go really well too.

Welcome and congratulations @Bodgers - I had my second vaccine (Pfizer) at 7 weeks pregnant as the midwives were recommending it. I had no unusual side effects, just extreme fatigue that evening but not sure if that was just pregnancy hormones!

Bodgers · 20/08/2021 21:51

Thanks @PaperFleur that's really reassuring. My gp and doctor friends advised me to get it, but when I told my midwife at booking appointment, she said "oh I'm not advising anyone to get it as there's not enough information"... I was quite shocked at this as her professional body and that of gynaecology is urging women to get it, given the potential risks in 3rd trimester and data there is available now. My pregnant friends have had it and also no real side effects like you, so I'll be pressing ahead to get it.

NopeNotTodaySucca · 21/08/2021 11:59

Hey everyone, can I join you all in here? I’m currently 10 + 5, due 14th March - baby will be my first! So all of this is all very new Smile, trying to enjoy every moment despite some of the symptoms I’m having.
Had a private scan on Tuesday, was so reassuring to see baby - who was very much a wriggler in there!

Looking forward to chatting to you all

JuneySunshine · 23/08/2021 15:59

Hey,

Hope everything is well with everyone Flowers

I've just been for my very early 12 week scan. I thought I was 10+1 and was dated at 10+3. It was amazing to see little'un in the right place, the right size and with a heartbeat 😊

I'm booked in again for 12+5 so they can do nuchal measurements. I'll look forward to that one much more after seeing all was well today. Not sure the sonographer will feel the same, I absolutely bawled as soon as I saw the baby today 😅 Sure it happens all the time.

Right, off for a nap x

AlwaysSeekingComfort · 23/08/2021 20:20

Hello lovelies.

@JuneySunshine awwww how lovely!!! So pleased you had a great scan, they are surreal aren’t they! X

@NopeNotTodaySucca congrats lovely 💐 and so special that it’s your first. It’s my first too! X

@Bodgers congrats lovely 💐 tbh I haven’t had any jabs yet… now I am pregnant again (missed misscarriage before) I am too anxious to have the jab… am very conflicted and not sure what to do! However have seen many woman have had it! X

@treesall oh bless you! So pleased you had a good scan!!!! Stay positive ok…. I am an anxious person but I try to remind myself everyday nothing bad has happened yet and so I should be happy and positive in the moment! X

UPDATE - just an update on me…. Had another private scan (last one was 2 weeks ago)…. And wow!!!!! The most important thing we saw, he/she had a lovely strong HB! So happy all is ok so far! And how mad that little bubba looks like an actual baby!!!!! I am just speechless. Dancing and wriggling away. They also dated me further ahead again, apparently I’m measuring 11w5d (I thought as per ovulation and last scan 2w ago, I should be 11w1d). I have my 12w scan next week where it looks like I’ll be 13w. But I am honestly just in shock and happy. X

PaperFleur · 24/08/2021 12:37

Welcome @NopeNotTodaySucca and congratulations on your scans to @JuneySunshine and @AlwaysSeekingComfort! How exciting, and wonderful to hear all is looking good! It is amazing to see baby wriggling about isn't it, makes it so real!
Is anyone else finding their symptoms (if you had any) are fading away? I know it's normal for that to happen towards the end of the first trimester but am still struggling to be chill about it, just in case it means something is wrong - even though of course it's very pleasant not to be feeling so nauseous, and for my boobs to be much less sore!
And is anyone else in maternity clothes yet?! I've been missing my jeans (can't do the button up any more!) so got some maternity jeans in the M&S sale and they are so comfy... The bump covering bit is huge still obviously, but I just fold that down and it works fine! Grin

JuneySunshine · 24/08/2021 15:57

Ah thanks @PaperFleur it was so lovely.

Interesting to hear your symptoms seem to be easing and it's got me thinking 🤔 I think my boobs are less sore too, and also that the bloating/ constipation has eaed off. Don't get me wrong I'm still a bit fat 😅 but in a less uncomfortable way than I was at 6 weeks.

Nausea is still around in a big way though. Its always come in waves when I get hungry but early on I could manage it with well timed small snacks. Now I'm just hungry and on the verge of nauseous basically all the time. It's getting really tiresome trying to control it and keep a good diet. Today (its nearly 4pm) I've already eaten, please don't judge

  • 3 weetabix with raisins
  • 2 croissants
  • An apple, orange and cup of cashews
  • A jacket potato with beans and cheese
  • A bowl of bran flakes

It's actually really time consuming and socially awkward if travelling with colleagues etc. I'm hydrated and taking supplements so can't see I need all the food!

At the scan yesterday it was mentioned that the yolk sak is now redundant and the placenta is taking over so maybe this is driven by that forming or starting to be used?
Anyone else?! 😅

PaperFleur · 27/08/2021 11:08

@JuneySunshine Sorry to hear your nausea is still rampant! I don't think that's an unreasonable amount of food at all, if eating is helping you feel a bit better then that's what you have to do! I actually had a dream last night that I'd put on a stone in weight (thankfully haven't yet!) so I think I'm having the same worries, haha! Toast has been my go to for nausea (although tricky if you're at work depending on the staff kitchen situation), but for lighter snacks I eat cherry tomatoes or grapes, and find they help too. I love food so if you'd told me before that I'd need to eat constantly, I'd have thought YESSS, but turns out it's not so fun at all is it, and as you say, can be awkward in front of colleagues!
I've found that anti sickness wrist pressure bands have made a difference for me. I bought a pair a few years back for a long bus ride and was pleasantly surprised when they actually worked and I didn't feel travel sick at all. They're not quite as effective with pregnancy nausea but for me, they do definitely help reduce it. You can get away with wearing them at work if you have long sleeves to hide them, that's been my trick!
I'm feeling much less nauseous in the day now but have still been struggling with it late at night, from about 11pm onwards, so that's when the bands come in handy again, as I don't really feel like eating anything if the sickness strikes at 1am.
I've read that the placenta will start to take on more of the hormonal load when it's under construction, so hopefully as it gets nearer to completion, the more our hormones will start to balance out and the better we should feel!

AlwaysSeekingComfort · 01/09/2021 07:09

Hello all, just popping in to make sure everyone’s ok? 💐

I have my “12w nuchal” today…. Am absolutely bricking it. I should be dead on 13w if we are to go by my last private scan. But was told it’s normal if they were to date me a couple days ahead/behind. We shall see!

I have no belly, no symptoms, I just honestly don’t know how I can be 13w pregnant. Will this scanxiety ever go too? I feel more nervous for this one than the last ones. So scared I’ll get told it’s a MMC even though I had a private scan last Monday and all was good. Need to pull myself together.

Anyway sorry to ramble but hopefully I’ll be updating you all later with good news 🤞🏻!

P.S happy September all x

JuneySunshine · 01/09/2021 10:00

Hi @AlwaysSeekingComfort

Best of luck for today- I'm sure it's going to be great, especially having seen little one so recently.

I was absolutely petrified as well, especially having had no previous scans. My partner was very calm about it until I reminded him we might find out it was twins Grin Grin Grin

I'm due back for another one (I wasn't far along enough for measurements the first time) in a weeks time. I do feel my scanxiety has reduced from last time, maybe because i know more what to expect, but then I get worried I'm being complacent just because all was well previously.

I'm quite jealous about your belly, mine seems to have popped out in the last week and I'd really rather it didn't until we've got the nuchal results back and can think about telling people
reaches for the baggy clothes

Let us know how you get on today x
