I've just found out Im pregnant - due Mid March next year so literally only 4 weeks. Dying to tell people already 🤦🏼‍♀️ anybody else in a similar boat? Who have you told how did you announce it?

It'd be lovely to chat to people in a similar situation!

Hey @JuneySunshine thank you! I hope so 🤞🏻
Yes my partner is very calm…. It blows my mind as I think how can you not feel scared 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️ Hhahaha a good way to get him on the same wave length as you, although twins would be a blessing aye!
Oooo not long for you to wait! Glad your feeling less anxious!!
Oh has it? Could be just bloat though couldn’t it? Or does it seem like a genuine bubba bump? It’s crazy there is something inside us growing, still can’t get my head around it.
Yes will update you all in a little while…. Hoping with good news of course.
💐

JuneySunshine · 01/09/2021 10:13

Ha, totally agree about twins, in theory, but this will be our first so have a feeling one might be enough to contend with!
I have been so bloated but this does feel a bit different- in that it's kind of lower down than previously- sure I'm being paranoid about what people would really notice though.

Look forward to hearing later x

treesall · 01/09/2021 10:51

@AlwaysSeekingComfort hope your scan is lovely today! Will you share a picture?

I have my private one (with consultant) tomorrow and nhs one on Friday. 12 weeks today! I can't believe we have made it this far but still can't believe there's much hope this pregnancy will result in a baby.

AlwaysSeekingComfort · 01/09/2021 13:53

Hey everyone…. So unsure how to feel about this scan… (all went well, saw babies HB, and NT measurement was looking good and had bloods taken etc which I am over the moon about of course)… however they measured baby at 12w 2d (from my last private scan I should have been 13w today)… I mean I understand it can be a couple of days out either side but this would be 5days out. I bought it up with the sonographer, and she didn’t seem too fussed. Just said her measurements or private scans measurements could have been out. Going by LMP though, it’s exact for my new dating of 12w 2d, which i suppose is a positive? Am I being over dramatic by worrying?

@treesall oh good luck tomorrow and Friday hun!!! Hope all goes well 💐 and I know exactly what you mean! I am just so anxious still and worrying about everything!!! We have to just remain positive.

X

JuneySunshine · 01/09/2021 14:04

Hi @AlwaysSeekingComfort

That all sounds good to me, especially the match with your LMP. I know it's easier said than done but I'd trust this latest scan dating wise and try not to worry.

Did they mention when you might hear back about the bloods?

AlwaysSeekingComfort · 01/09/2021 14:18

Hey @JuneySunshine, yes I am just trying to think like it’s exactly in line with LMP so hopefully the private scan was abit off!

Yes the nurse said if they find you high risk they will call you within a few days… if they find you low risk from your results, then you’ll just get a letter in the post in a couple of weeks. They booked me for my 20w anomaly scan at the end of Oct. definitely going to have to have a couple of scans in between ffs. But we will be finding out the gender at the end of this month hopefully x

JuneySunshine · 01/09/2021 14:57

@AlwaysSeekingComfort That's great about the bloods, that's the kind of thing I always forget to ask then worry when I don't hear!

That's so exciting about the gender scan. Will you be telling family and friends about the pregnancy soon? And will you tell them about the gender too or keep it between the two of you?

AlwaysSeekingComfort · 01/09/2021 18:53

@JuneySunshine.. I was just thinking… going by my EPU visit when I had my first scan because of bleeding, they dated me 6w 5d then… now if I were to go by that and completely discount my last private scan, it would put me at 12w 3d today, which would only be 1 day out. Also if I were to go by my private scan when I was 9w 2d, that would put me 12w 4d which again, is only 2 days out. That makes me feel abit better.

And yes well that’s what the nurse said, unsure if it’s diff for other hospitals but wouldn’t imagine so? Yes we will have a gender reveal and I’ve told my mum/dad and nan/grandad so far… as I’m 12w now I think will tell the rest of the family this week.

Will you be finding out the gender or waiting for the surprise at the end? When you telling fam/friends or have you already? X

PaperFleur · 01/09/2021 19:32

@AlwaysSeekingComfort Hope your scan went well earlier!
And @treesall, good luck with your scans this week!

I have my 12 week one tomorrow. Getting a bit nervous about the screening part of it, because I'm 38 so have a higher risk anyway just basing it on age. But have been reminding myself that even if I do get a call to say it's higher risk, the chances of there actually being a problem are still very small indeed.

I'm also in baggier clothes @JuneySunshine, happily the weather looks warmer next week as I find loose summer dresses are my friend at the moment! Has your nausea got any better?

PaperFleur · 01/09/2021 19:37

@AlwaysSeekingComfort So sorry, my messages hadn't updated when I replied just now! Lovely news that baby is doing well and I think you're right to follow the sonographer's lead and not be worried about the dates being a bit different to what you expected - as you say, they match up with earlier scans and I'm sure measuring isn't a 100% precise art. x

AlwaysSeekingComfort · 01/09/2021 19:45

Hey @PaperFleur, yes going to try hold on to that! How exciting!!! How far should you be tomorrow for your 12w scan? Yes I’ve read that age puts your risk up straight away without any tests… but it doesn’t mean a thing!!! Even woman who get a “high risk” result from their scan/bloods vast majority end up having healthy babies!! So I really wouldn’t worry! Let us know how you get on tomorrow 💐 I believe my NT measurement today was 1.3mm which I believe to be good. Hopefully yours is a good result too! X

PaperFleur · 01/09/2021 21:08

@AlwaysSeekingComfort Thank you!
According to LMP I'll be bang on 12 weeks tomorrow, but at my last private scan a couple of weeks ago they reckoned I was 3 days ahead, so we'll see what happens tomorrow. Yes fingers crossed a good NT measurement will help bring me into a lower risk category. Will be nervous for a few days in case I get a call though!

AlwaysSeekingComfort · 01/09/2021 21:17

@PaperFleur oh ok great! I’m sure all will be fine!!! Enjoy the scan (although I personally found it less erm… intimate if that makes sense. She was more concerned with taking measurements and looking at the limbs and what not) but was still amazing to see the baby on the screen and moving their arms/legs etc. Let us know how you get on tomorrow. My sonographer actually said all looks good from scan etc so hopefully you’ll have a good idea anyway to put your mind at rest until you get the final results.

jb1905 · 01/09/2021 21:37

Due March 19th!

First scan is on Friday and I can't wait! I've had a lot of anxiety about not knowing everything is OK so hoping for some reassurance Smile

JuneySunshine · 01/09/2021 23:28

@AlwaysSeekingComfort Those dates seem even better now, absolutely nothing to worry about then 😊
Lovely about your party plan and close family already knowing about the pregnancy. We're completely different, don't want to know about the gender and haven't told a soul yet. We will after my upcoming scan but we don't live in the same place as lots of family and friends so it's a bit of a logistical nightmare for those we want to tell face to face! We need to work our how to get round everyone!

@PaperFleur Sending you all the best for tommorow. Sure all will be well with little one and the changes week to week at this stage are enormous apparently 😊 Glad to hear I'm not the only one changing shape too. The nausea and appetite has now entered a new and no less annoying phase. I'm now feeling awful between 5 and 7 pm, a sickness that won't even go when I eat. Additionally I'm really hungry really often but once I start to eat I immediately feel full and no real enjoyment in eating 😅 fun and games. Think I need to start eating more smaller meals, but it's such a faff! Let us know how you go tomorrow.

Hi @jb1905 nearly there! Hope you enjoy the scan x

AlwaysSeekingComfort · 02/09/2021 16:24

Hey @JuneySunshine yes it’s exciting the not knowing too! And having a nice surprise at the end…. I wish I could do that but I am a control freak so knowing the gender will help me with the nursery and buying clothes etc. Do you have any feeling on what you think the bubba may be? Some people just know don’t they and are adamant at the gender being a girl or boy!

@PaperFleur thinking of you today… hope all went ok?

@jb1905 congrats 💐!!!! Ahhh scan tomorrow. So
Exciting! Hope all goes well! Let us know how you get on!

jb1905 · 02/09/2021 16:32

@AlwaysSeekingComfort thank you!! It feels like it's been a long time coming but hopefully it'll be very worth the wait. I will definitely update Smile

treesall · 02/09/2021 16:42

Thank you @PaperFleur & @AlwaysSeekingComfort. Just had my really detailed (hour long!) scan and everything looks perfect. I'm so so relieved!

Sorry you had a stress about your dates @AlwaysSeekingComfort but glad all looks great. My consultant said different scanners can give slightly different measurements and that can impact dates too.

@PaperFleur I hope your scan went well? X

AlwaysSeekingComfort · 02/09/2021 16:45

@treesall an hour long!! Wow!! How nice you got to see bubba for that long! Sooo pleased it all went well for you 💐

JuneySunshine · 02/09/2021 18:33

Oh my gosh @treesall that's brilliant about your scan! And lovely you got so long. You could blink and miss mine, the sonographer was so quick to find bub and then they weren't big enough for nuchal measurements so before I knew it I was being sent off to the loo!

@AlwaysSeekingComfort weird with the gender isn't it. I've assumed I'm having a boy but I'm pretty sure that's because my sisters youngest and close friends recent arrival are both boys so that's my main point of reference. Feelings might even change over time. How about you, any incling or preference?

I've had a bit of a stressy day today. I had some pinkish discharge when I wiped at noon. Nothing since. Also I've been having some twinges, like others I've had but stronger (not back pain/ period pain type). I called the Community Midwife in a panic, left a message, then decided there was probably very little they would do unless it intensifies especially with my next scan booked for next Wednesday. I'm hoping it's just growing pains/ the switch over to the placenta but obviously very anxious. I know it's not a lot compared to those of you who have had bleeds etc. Just going to keep a careful watch and act tomorrow if needs be.

Hope all's well with everyone x

AlwaysSeekingComfort · 02/09/2021 19:38

@JuneySunshine it is weird indeed. Oh really? N’awww! I really don’t know. DP wants a boy (but he’d be happy either way) I haven’t got a clue either… don’t even feel bloody pregnant 🤣

Oh bless you! Nothing more worrying, I know how you feel! Yes could definitely be those things! Please try not to worry! You had your last scan under a week ago didn’t you and saw a wriggly bubba with a nice HB! See how you go tomorrow…. Keep us updated of course. I’m sure it will all be fine 💐. Roll on next Weds when you can see bubba again. X

PaperFleur · 02/09/2021 19:40

Hello all, just to report that my scan went really well! Baby was bouncing about and definitely reacted when my stomach rumbled (poor thing is going to be deafened in there, I've always had a very chatty stomach!)! My due date has been moved forwards by a few days so is now 14th March. Amusingly my OH's birthday is 10th March and mine is 12th, so we could all be in the same week! That'll be a lot of birthday cake... Now just to wait for the screening results. The nuchal measurement was 1.9mm which upon googling sounds pretty good, so fingers crossed.

@JuneySunshine I'm sorry to hear about the worrying discharge today, I hope it settles down soon. The pains could well be stretching at this stage, hope they've not been too sore & that they stop soon too. Fingers crossed for a much less concerning day for you tomorrow. x

@treesall Great news about your scan, lovely! Will you find out the sex in due course?

We've decided to wait and not find out - my feeling is currently that it's a girl, but we shall see!

PaperFleur · 02/09/2021 19:49

Just to add @JuneySunshine that I did loads of googling when I had some bleeding early on, and everywhere said that pink discharge at some point in pregnancy, especially in first trimester, is really common and normal. I know that doesn't help much when worry has taken ahold (and I'm sure you've probably been doing plenty of googling too!) but as @AlwaysSeekingComfort said, baby was doing really well only recently, so chances are very high that all remains so, and baby is perfectly happy in there! As my mum wisely told me, this is just the beginning of a lifetime of worry, and they're not even born yet... Grin

JuneySunshine · 02/09/2021 19:56

Hi @PaperFleur so delighted to hear about your scan! And hilarious about the reaction to your tummy. I've been meaning to Google when they can hear music from etc. myself. My due date is March 15th currently, and also a lot of family birthdays in March. Funny to hear you've got a feeling on gender too, I think our brains maybe just decide to make thinking about them easier in the meantime.

Thank you for the reassurance about today. Hilariously I literally said the same thing to my OH earlier. Something like
'Oh well, I guess I'll be anxious until the day they're born, and then the real worrying starts!' Hmm

AlwaysSeekingComfort · 02/09/2021 20:04

@PaperFleur woohoo so good to hear!!! And 1.9 is great (anything below 3 is the norm!). How exciting! The same DD as me! And can’t complain about all the bday cake! X
