Hi, just wondering if anyone had missed their period after having the Covid vaccine mine is currently 7 days late I’ve never been this late Unless pregnant (no pregnancy symptoms either) and no sign of it coming.

Yeah it's very common op

Twinkle1991 · 05/07/2021 20:51

Thanks so much! It’s very strange that it stops periods coming!

I am 6 days late!! After 2nd jab and was seriously worrying haha

Twinkle1991 · 05/07/2021 22:34

I know I still don’t know whether to take a test to be on the safe side but surely this should be mentioned in the side effects somewhere Hmm which vaccine did you have out of curiosity? X

Mine hasn’t came yet either. I’m 12 days late after first dose.

HyphenCobra · 06/07/2021 06:00

Astrazeneca!

Doing a bit of research now, it seems lots of people are reporting it via The yellow card side effects, I'm going to report it too, as at the moment looks like they're saying it's not linked 🙄

Know what you mean about taking a test just in case haha, I'm holding out at the moment 😂

BonesJones · 06/07/2021 06:18

Covid stopped my periods for 3 month, then they came back ridiculously heavy and awful. The first jab caused me to miss one, next one almost unmanagably heavy again. I have my 2nd jab tomorrow! My GP of course says it's stress. It's not bloody stress!!!

isitjustlockdown · 06/07/2021 06:25

I had my first vaccine mid March, during my period. I haven't had another one since. I have had the 2nd dose back in May.

It's coming up to 4 months without a period for me now.

crystelle · 06/07/2021 06:36

Ok I haven't had the jab yet but this is looking extremely suspicious lol I doubt this is a coincidence.

user1468739797 · 06/07/2021 07:22

I had the Astra Zeneca vaccine first dose. My GP had dismissed it to, but my cycles are always 28-30 days long. I’ve never had any missed periods apart from when pregnant. I’m really anxious about it.

HyphenCobra · 06/07/2021 09:45

I've never had a missed period either bar pregnancy and mine are pretty much clockwork!

So glad it's not just me, as had my coil out as want DH to get the snip so was super panicking even though I know we've been safe 😂

If everyone logs this on yellow card website the better 🤞

user1468739797 · 06/07/2021 09:54

Yeah I’ve already logged it 😊 Let us know how things go for you.

I’m taking part in the imperial college London study for my second dose, which is due mid August.

They seem to think at the moment when in your cycle you get the vaccine depends what effect it has. They also think from anecdotal feedback so far that it disrupts your cycle for one dose.

CharleeBear · 06/07/2021 11:27

I had my first dose and it messed up my cycle to the point that I am now almost 12 weeks pregnant with my third baby! My husband and I have used the withdrawal method for the last 10 years and this baby is a huge (but happy) surprise - but now I will have 10 & 12 year age gap with my other 2!!!

HyphenCobra · 06/07/2021 12:23

OMG mine are 10 and 12 I'm rushing out for a test 😂😂😂😂

Same! We were planning to start trying but not for a few months. It must have pushed my ovulation back a week as I’m currently 15 weeks 😂
Twinkle1991 · 06/07/2021 15:16

Thank you all so much for replying I feel better that it’s not just me but also find it a bit worrying at the same time. If I remember right I was on my period when I had the first jab and my next jab is due august.

Same thing happened to me but in my case it turned out I actually was pregnant!

I do know other people who have had delayed or early periods after it though.

Twinkle1991 · 06/07/2021 16:04

It sounds a lot more common than I thought. I wasn’t actually on bc last month either I’m currently 8 days late 🙈 which jab did you have?

OP posts:
Twinkle1991 · 06/07/2021 16:06

I thought the same that’s quite a few women on here missing there periods I’ve literally never been late (maybe a day or 2 either way) but never 8 days late lol!

I finished my last period on the 2nd of June and have not had one since, really concerns now and wondering if it it the vaccine

MidlandsMummy · 27/07/2021 11:28

I’ve also missed my period this month! Currently 11 days late. Negative pregnancy test. I’ve had both doses of the Pfizer vaccine. I had some spotting/bleeding mid cycle which the doctor thought was related to me having thrush? I’ve had thrush hundreds of times and never bled because of it.

Af2021 · 04/08/2021 00:21

I have had both jabs and missed two cycles! This is so frustrating as I have a period every month and I am also trying for a baby. Pregnancy tests have come up negative and the doctors don’t seem worried at all. They have asked me to wait until I miss my third cycle and that’s when they will do “further investigations.”

JackJack84 · 04/08/2021 05:12

Imperial College are doing a study looking into this. If you're interested this is the link to the questionnaire:

confusedalways · 04/08/2021 08:21

I had my second dose in may then June and july’s periods where as normal and I’m now 4 days late for August’s period. I wonder if it can have a delayed effect like that.

Nomoreideasleft · 04/08/2021 11:00

My cycle was all over the place for about three months after the first jag. Be careful, though, as I still got pregnant a month after the second, despite my crazy cycle!
