Hi, just wondering if anyone had missed their period after having the Covid vaccine mine is currently 7 days late I’ve never been this late Unless pregnant (no pregnancy symptoms either) and no sign of it coming.

Hi,
I had my 1st Pfizer vaccine whilst I was on my period in June, then I missed my next period...After googling I thought it was just normal so didn't panic but after being more than 2 weeks late which is not normal for me, I thought I better double check....have since taken x4 tests all of which are positive 😳...such a shock as I am on contraception and its not failed me for the last 11 years until now, not sure if the vaccine was a coincidence but looks like quite a few people have fallen pregnant after it!

HelloGoodbyeBonjour · 05/08/2021 13:23

I had my first vaccine at the end of May and was then ten days early. However, had my second dose 2 days ago and realised I hadn't had a period since. I'm normally regular, took a pregnancy test which was negative but now worried that I'll lose track of when I'll ovulate as want to try for another baby. Nice to hear people are getting pregnant after having their vaccine.

Hi there. My daughter who is 27 hasnt had her period for over 4 months after the Astra Zeneca jab. We cant get any help as most people just decide we are anti vaccine which we are not or make light of it and say its nothing to worry about. However we are very worried. She wants to have children one day and is very affected by the fact her period hasnt come since the vaccine. Thanks

annaste11111 · 06/08/2021 14:42

Hi there. How would we contact someone about this study as we are so worried about my daughter who has missed 4 periods since her first jab of Astra Zeneca. She hasnt had her second as she was too worried about her fertility etc being affected. Thanks :-)

annaste11111 · 06/08/2021 14:43

ps meant about the Imperial College study....sorry only just figuring out how to use this site :-)

Ikeepbuyinganimals · 08/08/2021 00:48

1st jab end of May, 2nd jab end of July. I had 1 light, short period about mid-June and am now on Day 64 still waiting. I'm usually 23 day cycles, maybe 26 max. and having spent the last 3 years ttc this is a really difficult side effect for them not to acknowledge officially.

Twinkle1991 · 11/08/2021 08:23

Mine ended up being 15 days late in the end then my next period came exactly on time (28 days) So strange! I have my next jab in a couple of weeks so we will see if the same happens again

Thank you for the link to the study, I've completed the questionnaire. Had no issues after my first dose but currently 8 days late which is unheard of for me after having second dose of Pfizer. I track my cycles and this is the longest between periods I've had in over 5 years of tracking.

Cookoo12 · 11/08/2021 21:17

I am 5 days late and really starting to worry, as like many above, I'm always on time with my menstrual cycle.I know I'm not pregnant as I've been celibate for a while.
I've heard all sorts of rumours, which I believed to be madness at the time, regarding the jab e.g. making some sterile etc etc. But now they are starting to sound plausible in my mind... I feel the onset of a period, yet nothing but an enlarged bloated stomach.
I don't think I'll ever have another experimental vaccine again after this, as I hate feeling like a guinea-pig that never signed up.

OooohAhhhh · 11/08/2021 21:25

This seems to be a thing. My sister was really late after 1st jab, whereas I had my period too early. So it does mess with your cycle.

OooohAhhhh · 11/08/2021 21:30

Just had the second jab and I've been feeling periody & bloaty (usual PMT stuff) ever since. And I'm not due my period for another 2 weeks yet. So I think I may have another early one.
So strange that it does this, and quite worrying also.

Zeev · 11/08/2021 21:36

Really late after the 2nd jab (Pfizer). I've heard period irregularities aren't rare with any jabs, it's just that we don't get that many during our adulthood so we probably won't notice.

@cookoo12 have a read of this article. I looked at it last night and it put my mind at rest.

Hi everyone, I commented on this thread before and I thought I’ll update you if you’re really anxious like me, looking for answers all over the internet! After I had taken the covid vaccine, my period was fine after the first dose. However after the second dose, my period stopped for nearly three months which had me completely worried, especially because I’m trying for a baby. Doctors were absolutely useless and I had to just wait and see what happens. I have finally started my period again (very light spotting but it’s a start!) so there is hope and fingers crossed your menstrual cycle is only affected short term. I hope this puts a lot of you at ease if you’re in the same boat! X

Hi there. Thanks for all the messages about this. To update you my daughter finally got her period after nearly 5 months. It was very heavy and excruciatingly painful but we have both been so happy that she got it. It has been an unusual one though with the pain and extra heavy. I will update next month to let you know if they have started to be regular. I hope they talk about this more in the media etc without it seeming like the experts are just brushing it off as it has been incredibly worrying for us. I do feel that if this was an issue affecting men that it might be talked about more. Thanks again to everyone. Will update in a few weeks with whats happened with her cycle.

Oh glad to hear she’s started again! I 100% agree with how this needs to be looked at by the media as it’s such a big issue which can affect mental health as well. I for one have been worried sick about this messing up my ovulation dates etc. I felt very deflated especially when the doctors did not even mention the vaccine and easily say it’s “stress” causing me to miss my period! X

Hi there. I totally agree and yes absolutely can mess with mental health. x

jolota · 16/08/2021 15:25

I got my first vaccine and then got pregnant about 2 weeks later so I don't have experience with it delaying my period but I took a while to take a test after my period was late because I'd seen a BBC news article just a week before that mentioned the vaccine could affect period cycles. It was framed in the article that menstrual cycles are quite fickle and easily disrupted lol by things like weight loss/gain, stress, illness etc so it was plausible that the vaccine could have a similar affect and that it wasn't deemed harmful or likely to be a long term thing. Hopefully there will be some more actual research done into it though.
Interestingly I've seen so many people who were trying to conceive mention on the forums that they got pregnant their next cycle after getting the vaccine, sometimes after trying for quite a while. Along with the reports of it affecting people's periods, it is probably coincidental but it's interesting. I also got pregnant after trying for 6 months just after getting the vaccine but it was also our first cycle using ovulation tests so I don't think I can credit the vaccine for our success!

Thanks hun. The article is confusing though, as no one is taking responsibility for the vaccine being a problem in this area. I'm being more optimistic, after speaking with my mum, who has tried to reassure me, that vaccines in general, play around with the bodies timetable. I've been praying to have peace of mind regarding the matter🙏- may seem silly but it's helped me focus on other areas of life.

It's been 60 days since my last period..I got my first dose of AZ in April and second dose in June. The last period I had was in July and it was much shorter and lighter than usual. Nothing since then. I found a thread on Reddit where so many women in their 30s experienced this and other weird changes to their cycles. I'm 32 and never had a child. I want to start trying soon but now I'm worried my fertility is affected. Did anyone else miss their periods for months on here and then it came back? One woman on the Reddit thread said it took 90 days for hers to come back. I've been getting all sorts of PMS symptoms like sore boobs / sore swollen armpits, extreme to mild cramps, nausea, headaches, fatigue and have done 3 pregnancy tests and all negative. I already had suspected PCOS but my periods have always been every 25-28 days. I've never missed 2 periods a row in my life like this.

Hi, I'm so glad your daughter's period finally came back. I'm in a similar boat with 2 missed periods so far since my second dose.
Loubielouise · 15/09/2021 08:22

Can you let me know if you got your period back.. I've not had one for 3 month now since the vaccine and super worried 😕

DizzySquirrel90 · 15/09/2021 22:05

Ya all need to report it via yellow card. Otherwise it'll get ignored
