Morning ladies,

I'm hoping that maybe you can reassure me a little. I had pink spotting at 5 weeks. Epu scanned me and again at 6 weeks. They saw the heartbeat and all was fine. Fast forward to 9 weeks. Pink, brown, once dark red spotting. Only when wiping and once every day or so. Epu wont scan me again and said that it's probably due to sensitive cervix. My midwife said it's a common thing and probably all fine.

I have a history of 2 mc but also 2 healthy babies. So any sight of blood freaks me out.

Please can you reassure me it's not always a bad thing?

It seems like if I rest then no spotting. If I am more active then i will spot for an hour. Does anyone else have sensitive cervix and have this issue?? Xx

Scan is at 10:10. Glad it's in the morning so it can be over and done with and we can know the answer. 10 weeks now. I've never really had any symptoms other than maybe slightly swollen breasts and twinges down there, still seem to have those. Still had no bleeding since the random gush and no pain, so trying to keep a positive mindset. Xx

@Trinacham I will keep everything crossed for you. Glad its early for you, although I bet its feeling like a lifetime away. I read so many things when I had my bleeding, there are so many reasons as to what it can be. So keep positive xx

@Snoopy28x just got back and relieved to say all looking great xx

Snoopy28x · 09/07/2021 11:31

@Trinacham omg I'm so happy!!!! Congratulations!!! Did they say what the cause of the bleed was?? Xx

@Snoopy28x they didn't, no, couldn't see any evidence again. Advised me to ring the doctor to get my cervix looked at (as this EPAU doesn't do that, weirdly) just to see that it's looking alright, but I just called the doctor and they say they don't do that either. 🙄 so not really sure what to do/who to go to now. Don't really want to drive far to another hospital just to get examined! Surely someone local can just have a look. We'll see.

Trinacham · 09/07/2021 18:00

So we did end up driving to the nearest city hospital. Such a faff for a small procedure! They were so nice though. Took some swabs to check for infection but couldn't see anything untoward. X

Snoopy28x · 09/07/2021 19:24

@Trinacham yeah I couldn't find anyone to do it for me either. It's weird the midwife dont. I'm glad everything is looking positive for you! Must be such a relief xxx

@Trinacham how are you doing ? X

@Snoopy28x doing well, thank you. Found out I do have something. I was out when I got the call but I thought they called it Strep C. After having googled though I think it must be strep B (going to call them back so I can have the details again). I remember by SIL having this and my nephew being really poorly at birth because of it. Luckily I know as this means they will treat it at the birth to stop baby getting it! It is something that some women naturally carry and causes no harm to us but it does make newborns poorly. So I'm glad I had the swab taken as we wouldn't know. X

@Trinacham oh that's good they picked it up! Sorry been a hectic few days. It was my 40th on Saturday and went for a night away with Dh and some friends. Was such a well needed break to blow off some steam!! X

Doing alright, thank you x I haven't bled in a while so think it was a first trimester thing for me

Snoopy28x · 04/08/2021 06:44

@Trinacham that is fab news! How many weeks are you now? I'm so pleased things are working out well for you xx

@Snoopy28x will be 15 weeks on Saturday. We are convinced we are having a girl, mainly because everyone is saying that. My 6 year old niece has had a couple of visions where she has seen 'her' and told my sister what the baby is wearing and what she's like. My sister and I have also dreamt it's a girl so we'll see whether we are all correct. We will be over the moon whether it is a girl or a boy Smile x
