9 weeks pregnant spotting..

Morning ladies,

I'm hoping that maybe you can reassure me a little. I had pink spotting at 5 weeks. Epu scanned me and again at 6 weeks. They saw the heartbeat and all was fine. Fast forward to 9 weeks. Pink, brown, once dark red spotting. Only when wiping and once every day or so. Epu wont scan me again and said that it's probably due to sensitive cervix. My midwife said it's a common thing and probably all fine.

I have a history of 2 mc but also 2 healthy babies. So any sight of blood freaks me out.

Please can you reassure me it's not always a bad thing?

It seems like if I rest then no spotting. If I am more active then i will spot for an hour. Does anyone else have sensitive cervix and have this issue?? Xx

Definitely think I'm losing mine now too - today I've had cramping and red blood, the amount of a period. I've been crying and went straight to my mum as just needed someone to cry to (DH is great but just don't think men understand quite what we're going through, he thinks I worry too much) the lack of symptoms now this, I would be so surprised if they tell me everything is fine when I go for the scan. I just know it isn't now. x

heyheyapple · 20/06/2021 19:20

@Trinacham
Sometimes, you know when something is not feeling right. I knew it when I had sharp pain and cramps + spotting (bright red blood) that I was going to lose the pregnancy last Feb. And I did lose it.

Please know we're here for you. We know what you are going through and you might feel better if you talk about it. Ah yes, men won't really understand MC but they can still be there for emotional support.

I still hope everything turns out fine, but like I said, you know your own body and you know if something is not right. I'm praying for you sister. Please have the strength to go through this.... 🙏🏻

Thank you. Your kind words definitely help xx

@Trinacham I am so sorry.. have you been checked at epu? Yes men dont really understand how scary the sight of blood can be for you.

I am here if you need to talk xx

I woke up to a big gush of blood and pains today.. so in a way I'm relieved its finally happening. We have been away on holiday this weekend and I've been so conscious of something happening when out and about.. I feel (hope) mine is nearly over. Have to be out of our apartment at 10am and have a nearly 2 hour drive home... so far I've spent the last half an hour on and off the toilet. The rest of my family are asleep which I prefer. I can just have some time.. xx

Not been checked yet. I tried calling yesterday but it just went to answerphone and they advised that unless you're in a lot of pain or bleeding through 2 or more pads in an hour then just to leave a message. I will be calling again today and hopefully be able to actually speak to someone.

Excitedm0m · 21/06/2021 08:32

I had brown spotting and red spotting it was almost not spotting it was just bleeding I thought I'd had a miscarriage but baby is fine. As long as you don't have extreme cramps with bleeding and you aren't filling up pads you should be fine X

Snoopy28x · 21/06/2021 08:33

@Trinacham yes I found it hard to get through. I had to leave a message. Then they didnt call me back that day. So had to wait all weekend then leave another message on the monday!

How is your bleeding? Do you have pains? I hope your doing ok. It's a horrible thing to go through 😔 this is my 3rd and it doesn't get any easier, you just know more what to expect xx

I didn't bleed in the night, but the tissue always has bright red blood when I wipe. At the moment I'm getting twinges rather than cramps. Not needed any painkillers yet.
Yes, not knowing what to expect or when to expect it.. it's a little scary!
I'm glad it sounds like it is nearly over for you. You can then start to move on Flowers

Snoopy28x · 21/06/2021 09:18

@Trinacham dh just asked how I'm feeling.. I burst into tears. Feeling very emotional today. Gonna try and chuck myself into the last day of our holiday.

If you have any questions then I'm here. I hope for you it doesnt get to this point however. When you get a scan please let me know how your doing xxx I will be thinking of you x

@Snoopy28x

Hello,

I have not spotted yet today but yesterday my cramps were mild. Still not hopeful though but I still have my fingers crossed so we'll see 🤞🏻

Hope you're doing well today x

Snoopy28x · 21/06/2021 20:07

@heyheyapple I think cramping can be normal. Everything stretching and growing. So dont count yourself out yet. I'll keep everything crossed for you xx

Yes, I left a message and they eventually got back to me. They said they could scan me tomorrow. I informed them that i had a private scan already booked that same day and we discussed that we might aswell attend that one as planned. I haven't had any bleeding since Sunday but have had the brown spotting when I wipe. Feeling anxious about the scan because I'm expecting bad news, but I guess it will be a relief to have it confirmed, rather than guessing and wondering.

Understandable that you're feeling emotional. It's all still so fresh.

heyheyapple · 22/06/2021 11:03

@Snoopy28x

Hello there,

Hormones are a big downer. They'll make you cry so much without reason sometimes.
But just cry, let it all out and be sure to have a tub of Ben and Jerry's with you. Sometimes, they're all you need to go through a tough time.

I've just stepped out of the ultrasound room. I've had a good scan. The little bean's got a heartbeat and is looking fine.

But then again, this happened last time. Everything looked fine then suddenly, the pregnancy ended anyway so we're not happy at all.

We'll just get through life as normal but still hope for the best. My spotting has lessened today too, it's just light brown now. Still praying it all goes ok 😕

Snoopy28x · 22/06/2021 18:48

@Trinacham do let me know how you get on. I will keep everything crossed for you. From what I've read brown is normal so keep that in your mind xxx

Snoopy28x · 22/06/2021 18:59

@heyheyapple that is such fantastic news!! I'm so happy for you. Yes I also understand your cautious. I've also had false hope. However I understand that when you've seen the heartbeat then the chances of mc are greatly reduced. Just try and take it easy and (I know easier said than done) try not to worry.

Been crying alot today. Over absolutely nothing. Just well up then cry. Dh doesnt really know what to do with me. So hes cleaned the house from top to bottom so I can just chill tomorrow when dd is at pre school. If ds let's me lol making a yummy stew and dumplings. Nice comfort food!!

How many weeks are you now xx

OP posts:
Trinacham · 23/06/2021 16:31

Thank you @Snoopy28x I'm very pleased and very shocked to say that everything was fine at the scan. I couldn't believe it, with the cramping and bleeding I had on Sunday. I guess I might not ever know why. Hopefully the rest of this first trimester, and beyond, passes by with no more worries.

How are you feeling?

Snoopy28x · 23/06/2021 16:51

@Trinacham I am so so so happy for you!! Fingers crossed for a stress free rest of your pregnancy!!

How many weeks are you?

I'm feeling a lot more emotionally stable today thank goodness. Throwing myself into having a de clutter and sort of the house. Although the more I do the bleeding starts up again. Which is frustrating. So just gonna have to try and tqk4 it easy for a little while I think xx

OP posts:
Trinacham · 23/06/2021 18:28

Yes, take it easy. I know you probably want to do stuff to take your mind off things. Glad to hear you're starting to feel a little better.

By my period date I thought I was 7w 6d today but the sonographer actually dated me 2 days ahead at 8w 1d by his measurements.

xx

Snoopy28x · 23/06/2021 22:03

@Trinacham I am really so pleased for you. It must be such a relief!

I've felt really tired tonight. I will have a rest day tomorrow. I need to get my iron levels re checked again. I was already aneamic before I got pregnant. I had a hemorrhage after my dd and theyve never really recovered! X

OP posts:
heyheyapple · 26/06/2021 08:04

@Snoopy28x

The crown-rump-length of the bean was dated at 6 weeks, 3 days. That's 4 days behind my LMP date.

Awww I don't feel too hopeful again! I went walking 2 days ago because my spotting stopped and now I'm spotting & cramping again 😭

I seriously don't know what to do anymore but I feel the need to go back to work soon.

@Trinacham I'm also following your pregnancy updates. I'm so happy to know everything is fine with your little bean! Will you get another scan soon? I plan to get another scan when I reach 8 weeks. Just reassure myself that everything is fine.. Are you still spotting and cramping? What do you think is triggering it? 😮
