Hi everyone, I recently got my bfp after our first IVF cycle. I'm due either 31.01.22 or 01.02.22 depending on what calculator I use! I'm still in complete disbelief and don't think I'll really believe it until we get to our early scan. Other than being really tired, sore boobs and bloating I don't have any symptoms but these are probably all caused by the progesterone anyway!

Thought it might be nice to have an ivf pregnancy chat over here so please join me! 😊

Just bumping in case anyone has just got their bfp and didn't see me 😊

IVF baby here and due 6th Jan

InvisibleDreamer · 08/06/2021 18:53

Just got my BFP due early Feb if all goes well. Just anxious for 7 week scan and hoping all is ok. Am I right in thinking that after a 5 day transfer you go back 5 days in the calendar to when your embryo would have been day 0 in a natural cycle and use that as day 14 of your cycle? This makes the most sense to me but not sure if that is right. I didn’t make a note of when I bled during the IVF cycle so can’t really use first day of last period.

mowglika · 08/06/2021 19:25

Hi @DoctorBambino from the May ivf thread 👋🏽 hope to see more of our group on here soon

Due 27th January all being well Smile I have my scan next week so feeling super nervous about that. Symptoms slowly kicking in

@InvisibleDreamer that’s right, you go back to embryo collection day and that’s day 14 and also ‘your day’ for progressing to the next week. So I count weeks on from my collection day which was a Wednesday, hopefully makes sense.

willithappen · 08/06/2021 20:18

@InvisibleDreamer that's right yeah. So technically if you implant a day 5 embryo the day you implant you are 2 weeks and 5 days pregnant already from that date

Herewegoagain83 · 08/06/2021 23:39

Hi all,

I'm 7+5, had my viability scan today and all was good, strong heartbeat and measuring 7wks (but a bit curled up so not the most accurate)

Due 20 Jan, this is my second successful ivf cycle, my DD is 2 1/2. Can't believe we've been lucky enough for it to work first time, twice!

On a hell of a lot of drugs at the mo, so feel so bloated and paranoid I look pregnant already!!

InvisibleDreamer · 09/06/2021 00:05

@Herewegoagain83 that is great news.

Thanks @willithappen @mowglika all being well I should be due the 10th Feb then

DoctorBambino · 09/06/2021 09:40

Hey everyone 👋 I've not been on MN for a while as I keep freaking myself out about MMCs and everything that can go wrong. I'm 6w1d today I think and have my scan on Saturday. It's been the hardest wait of all the waits! I'm having it as early as possible due to previous ectopic.

You must be so excited to have got past the first scan @Herewegoagain83!

I dont have much in the way of symptoms. My boobs hurt like hell at first but they're only a little sensitive now. I'm constipated and bloated. But all of that is due to the progesterone I guess!

Roll on Saturday!!

InvisibleDreamer · 09/06/2021 10:42

@DoctorBambino I think with doing ivf we are all so aware of what can go wrong and how hard it was to get that BFP in the first place that it really ramps up the anxiety. I’ve had a few nights where I’ve woken up in the night thinking what if I’ve lost the baby already.

The only symptoms I have are bloating and for the last few evenings headaches - I think the drugs can mask a lot of symptoms. I hope your scan goes well on Saturday.

InvisibleDreamer · 15/06/2021 12:42

@DoctorBambino any news on your scan?

Looking for some reassurance today. Tested again yesterday having not tested for a week & had a good strong line but today when I went to pee toilet water was pink (sorry if tmi) and have had some light pink spotting with a tiny bit of dark red. Has now stopped but getting slightly stronger cramps than usual. I know this can be normal so I’m just trying to stay calm has anyone else had anything similar?

DoctorBambino · 15/06/2021 12:48

My scan went well thank you @InvisibleDreamer, saw little baby with heart beat flickering away, couldn't believe it!

I haven't had any spotting myself but I've read lots of times that it is very common either because of implantation or irritation of the cervix (sex, exercise etc), could also be progesterone pessaries? Must be very stressful for you, I hope the cramps stop and bleeding stays away!

OP posts:
InvisibleDreamer · 15/06/2021 13:42

@DoctorBambino that’s great news you must be relieved

Yes I think the progesterone is causing me some irritation especially as taking it 3x a day. I had some similar bleeding last week after jabbing myself with applicator 😂 but not quite as much as today. Seems to have stopped completely now so thinking everything is probably ok. It’s just hard not to worry especially when it’s so early on in pregnancy.

Bells3032 · 15/06/2021 13:55

Can i join though tech this embryo not conceived via IVF but was having IVF when we conceived.

Had IVF due to DH's v v low sperm count (less than 1 mill) and morphology (less than 1%) due to childhood cancer. I also had low AMH so decided to do 2 rounds and bank the embryos for second child. third round was meant to be a fresh transfer but cancelled after 5 days due to pretty much no response. Three weeks later felt really nauseous and well turns out I am pregnant! my HCG is at 29,000 so we suspect i was about three weeks when I started the last IVF cycle and what i thought was a very light period was actually an implantation bleed.

I have a scan on Monday to try and work out the exact timelines!

Currently trying to keep calm. I have no idea how this baby managed to come into existence let alone survive this long without me noticing! but obv being a bit of a miracle we are super super anxious esp the thought if this doesn't go through we will likely have to do another round of IVF.

How do you manage all the nerves about a much wanted and precious baby?

DoctorBambino · 15/06/2021 14:05

Wow thats crazy @Bells3032!! You are of course more than welcome, far too many chipper "I conceived on the first month of trying and now I'm not even sure if I'm ready!" comments on the normal pregnancy threads 😉

My nerves have definitely settled a bit since my scan, hopefully you will feel the same on Monday!

@InvisibleDreamer glad it seems to have settled down. I don't think we will ever stop worrying about our precious cargo as it took us all so long to get here!

Hi ladies - can I join?
I had our DE FET on 2nd June - got a BFP on 14th June and have our 1st scan on Friday this week.
I am currently freaking out a little as our clinic don't do a BETA blood test so at the moment - all I know is I feel bloated and a little head rushy but that's it.
I tested once - I didn't want to get into the testing cycle as know it would cause driven me mad. But now I am really worried that nothing is happening and it is a chemical. I was on another page and so many times this happened- it bas scared me a bit.
Anyway - hope you are all coping a bit better than me today!! X x

InvisibleDreamer · 21/06/2021 22:25

Hi @Pingupp I’m having my first scan Friday too. I don’t think everyone has symptoms so you are probably just really lucky. I feel constantly sick/hungry and generally horrible 24/7 which I believe is mostly caused by severe heartburn - unfortunately over the counter remedies have little effect.

My clinic doesn’t do blood tests either, I have tested twice since BFP just for reassurance. I can’t wait for scan but I know I will be very nervous just hoping that everything is ok. I too am worried about all the things that could go wrong.

Pingupp · 22/06/2021 06:59

@InvisibleDreamer thanks for this. I don't think I will be able to start to enjoy this til we get past the next few scans. It's so hard isn't it!! I just dare not test again for fear of the lines disappearing. My partner is being so great bless him. Sorry to hear about the nausea- did you have 1 or 2 embaby transferred? We had just the 1.
Are you the same dates as me? Xx

Bells3032 · 22/06/2021 08:51

@InvisibleDreamer omg it's so hard to keep calm. I reccomend don't keep testing though as it'll drive you mad. I didn't have any symptoms at all until 6 weeks and even then was a little naseaus which I put down to the heat at the time.

A small update from me. We had our first scan to try and date our pregnancy. We are 7 and a half weeks along and.... Its twins!!!!

We are in total shock. We never thought we'd conceive naturally let alone be able to fertilise two eggs in the same month (they think its fraternal). Given how low my dh's sperm count is we had been told not to really bother haha.

It also means I was about 3 weeks pregnant (one week post conception) when I started the ivf meds and certainly explains why I wasn't responding to them. Thankfully looks like both are lovely and healthy and have good strong heartbeats.

We've booked in for a 10 week scan too. So fingers crossed

DoctorBambino · 22/06/2021 11:44

Wow congratulations @Bells3032 that'd amazing news!

Welcome @Pingupp, I have also had very little in the way of symptoms, I was bloated at first but that has gone now (8w1d today) and have had very slight nausea that it so little I'm never sure if I'm just making it up. My boobs were also very sore at first bit they're fine now. Saw little baby at 6w5d and all looked perfect with a little heart beat so hopefully all is still going ok!

I stopped my progesterone and estrogen yesterday which was a bit daunting and had a banging head ache last night. I'm desperately fighting the urge to book a private scan to check everything is still OK as I know the reassurance will only last a few days anyway!

Hope everyone else is doing good 💛

Crazydoglady123 · 22/06/2021 12:10

Hey, hope it's okay to join! Know a few of you off the ivf threads! I'm 9+2 with twins. How long are you all on your progesterone for? I have about another two weeks of Utrogestan and Prontogest left. Cannot wait to stop them!

Congrats @Bells3032 on your miracle babies!!!

Pingupp · 22/06/2021 13:50

@DoctorBambino that's good to hear too. Google is not my friend and I think I have just scared myself a bit. Once scan is out of the way and hopefully baby is ok - I can relax til the 8 wk one!!
These meds seriously make you feel bloated. I am also on steroids so doing my best not to chunk out ;-)
Good to hear you are progressing nicely too. Exciting times for us all.

@Bells3032 oh wow! So no drugs needed - that is amazing!!!
My body gave up a long time ago which is why we ended up down the donor egg route.
I hope we all get out happy endings in whatever shape and form they start off in :-)
Xx

InvisibleDreamer · 22/06/2021 14:25

@Pingupp we just had the one emby too. I am due 10th Feb (6+5 today) so we must be similar in terms of dates?

@Bells3032 that is amazing especially when you were starting ivf at same time!

@Crazydoglady123 I am so ready to get off the drugs already I’m sure they are not helping with the nausea.

Am quite annoyed today spoke to doctor Friday who asked me to call midwife straight away and get appointment arranged so they could get me under care of consultant I was expecting call back yesterday - nothing. Missed call from surgery today which they have no record of and apparently neither midwife is in. Had to leave a message on answering machine at a hospital department in the hope someone might call back after 4pm. The GPs at my surgery are good but the admin side of things is hopeless! 😠

Pingupp · 22/06/2021 14:53

@InvisibleDreamer I am 5 wks + 4 - due date 18th Feb. Eek!

I had to register on some Badger App for the midwife - still waiting for logins and no sign of a booking in appointment.
I will also need to be under a consultant endocrinologist because I am on thyroxine for under active thyroid. I am having bloods done on Thurs but not filled with any hope that they are really sure what they are doing down at my surgery.... it's just the added stress we do not need!!!
Xx

Pingupp · 24/06/2021 12:33

Hey all - everyone ok? It's been quiet on here this week. Just checking in! X

EmCEmC · 24/06/2021 16:54

Hey! Can I join?!

I got my IVF BFP on Sunday (was naughty and tested on day 13!) and I'm due 28th Feb.

Very excited but nervous at the same time. I have Endo & Adeno & a cheeky cyst nestled in my pelvis so feeling every twang and twinge.

Looking forward to my early scan in two weeks time... another 2ww eh!! HmmXx
