Hi everyone, I recently got my bfp after our first IVF cycle. I'm due either 31.01.22 or 01.02.22 depending on what calculator I use! I'm still in complete disbelief and don't think I'll really believe it until we get to our early scan. Other than being really tired, sore boobs and bloating I don't have any symptoms but these are probably all caused by the progesterone anyway!

Thought it might be nice to have an ivf pregnancy chat over here so please join me! 😊

Congratulations @EmCEmC! I found that wait the hardest of all!

I'm 8w4d today and went for a private scam yesterday as I was worried because my symptoms completely disappeared. Baby was very happy and wriggling already! It was an amazing experience! I guess coming off the meds was the reason for the drop in symptoms!

How's everyone else?

Been struggling with terrible nausea caved in yesterday and took some old omeprazole from medicine cupboard and feeling so much better already. My doctor had suggested prescribing it if the gaviscon didn’t work. Finally got hold of midwife but no appointments until I’m 10 weeks currently waiting for duty doctor to call to see if can get a new prescription of omeprazole. 7 week scan today and everything looking good.

@DoctorBambino who was your scan with? Thinking of booking in at 10 weeks don’t think I can wait til the 12 week one.

DoctorBambino · 29/06/2021 08:22

@InvisibleDreamer it was with ultrasound direct they were great!

We had a scare over the weekend, I started bleeding lots. No cramping or clots though. Had a scan at the EPU yesterday and all is fine, implantation bleeding apparently! I'm 9w1d today and baby measuring one day ahead!

How is everyone doing?

Hi all

1 week down - 1 week to go until our early scan - I swear time has slowed to a snails pace and I'm only at 5+3!! It's almost unbearable! Symptoms are a little less today (boobs, cramping) although the emotions are all over the place. Hubby doesn't know if I'm going to hug him or kill him!! Smile

Hope everyone is progressing well :) x

Hi 👋!

Can I join - I think this is the thread for me! Tentatively joining and saying hello.

My background: Went down the IVF route due to recurrent mmc (5 in total). With the idea to screen embryo before transfer to reduce the risk. Only got 4 embryos after 2 trio-stim. 2 good ones, and 2 low quality. They don’t give grades at my clinic.

Transfer 1 (pgta tested): Ectopic, lost my tube.
Transfer 2 (ptga tested): BFN

So 3rd FET transfer took place 4th June - with LOW QUALITY embryo which was too fragile to be tested - has stuck! The Dr told me at transfer not to get my hopes up!

Last Friday at 5+5 started light bleeding, due to my history, it’s all over. EPAU scan booked for Monday, but over the weekend stuck into wine and dinner (life goes on).

Scan at 6+1 showed heartbeat, utterly shocked. Even showed slightly ahead at 6+4. I had a hemotoma on uterus, bleeding stopped Monday afternoon.

I have VERY mild symptoms - which I think are mainly the meds tbh. I am finding it hard to trust my body atm.

My ‘official’ scan with the clinic is next week when I’ll be 7+4 😭. It seems so long to go!

Positive scan confidence lasted all of 30mins before I started worrying again 😞.

IVF is so stressful isn’t it? BUT if all goes well - I have date of 19th Feb 🤞

Sorry if a long winded introduction, I’ve kept this mainly to myself IRL apart from my sister. I end up educating ppl about IVF rather than getting support!

It’s great to have people who understand the language.

I am currently on lubion, cyclogest, prognovia, and clexlane…..

Again - sorry about being long winded!

DoctorBambino · 02/07/2021 14:17

Wow what a journey @CurlyWurlyTwos! It's lovely to have you join us 😊 fingers crossed for your next scan!! I've got my 12 week booked in for July 20th, can't come quick enough if you ask me!!

Hey!
I had my transfer in April and have made it to 12 weeks! Little bean due 12th Jan.
It’s been a really rough few weeks - haematoma has not been fun and hip/back pain has already started which quite frankly is making me miserable. People keep telling me I should be enjoying this but it’s so hard when I’m in pain and wracked with constant anxiety.

EmCEmC · 02/07/2021 22:41
@DoctorBambino any news on your scan?

Looking for some reassurance today. Tested again yesterday having not tested for a week & had a good strong line but today when I went to pee toilet water was pink (sorry if tmi) and have had some light pink spotting with a tiny bit of dark red. Has now stopped but getting slightly stronger cramps than usual. I know this can be normal so I’m just trying to stay calm has anyone else had anything similar?
Hey @InvisibleDreamer how are you getting on? I've had some bleeding this evening and saw you did too a couple weeks back... I hope everything is ok. I'm on pessaries 3x a day so hoping it's just a little grumble and nothing more serious. Can't help but worry though... I'm 5+4 today and really hope it's not over... xx

InvisibleDreamer · 03/07/2021 00:15

@EmCEmC Everything was good at 7 week scan just struggling with terrible nausea and not really being able to eat hardly anything, on anti sickness tablets 3 x a day but still feel pretty rubbish. I think the bleeding was just a bit of irritation from pessaries I wouldn’t be too worried as long as it stops after a while and doesn’t get heavier.

EmCEmC · 03/07/2021 07:43

@InvisibleDreamer thanks for your reply, glad all is going well for you still. My bleeding is much lighter this morning, going to phone the nurses in a bit for some reassurance. God, this is one hell of a rollercoaster!! Xx

CurlyWurlyTwos · 03/07/2021 08:12

I also had bleeding at 5+4 @EmCEmC - lasted 3 days - scan showed haematoma but found everything was okay.

It’s horrible isn’t it? I’m only one week ahead of you - it’s going soooo slowly!!

EmCEmC · 03/07/2021 08:42

@CurlyWurlyTwos thank you for sharing your experience, fingers crossed I continue to follow a week behind you Smile xx

CurlyWurlyTwos · 05/07/2021 21:02

Did anyone else eat TERRIBLY in 1st trimester?

I’m am eating absolute rubbish, and I can’t help myself. I’m feeling nauseous in the afternoon mainly, and end up inhaling crisps, fries, or crackers. Once I start I can’t seem to stop Sad

It temporarily stops nausea, but then I’m left with a queasy feeling which I’m not sure is hormones or overrating Sad.

I feel rubbish - I know it can’t be helping.

7 week IVF scan coming up on Thursday, and my scan-anxiety is starting to build.

This who have past this stage - any tips on how to cope? Or anyone in the same boat?

I honestly don’t know if all the extra meds are making everything worse 😞….

Bladette84 · 05/07/2021 21:29

@CurlyWurlyTwos I have been eating utter crap - plain, salty, carby food is all I’ve really wanted! Fortunately, this week the nausea has eased off and I’m wanting more balanced food!
I have my 12 week scan tomorrow (I’ll be 12+6) and the anxiety has been unreal, despite having had 3 scans already! I wish I could say it gets easier but everyone has such different experiences.

The only thing I will say is make sure you ask for help with mental health if you need it - GP, trusted friend, it’s worth having someone other than your partner to talk stuff through with!

InvisibleDreamer · 05/07/2021 22:34

@CurlyWurlyTwos I really don’t think it matters what you eat in first trimester in terms of nutrition. Just make sure you stay hydrated and are taking folic acid and vitamin D. My nausea has been severe and the doctor is only really concerned about dehydration. Barely eaten anything apart from potato, yogurt & crumpets since 4 weeks and everything was fine at 7 week scan.

CurlyWurlyTwos · 06/07/2021 09:17

Hope the scan goes well today @Bladette84 These first few weeks are dragging - want to skip to where you are!

I did have a good scan last week - but the relief lasted all of 30 minutes before I start worrying again! I’ll be 7+5 for my 7 week scan!

@InvisibleDreamer I shouldn’t moan too much, sounds like you’ve had a tough ride!

The silly thing is, when the nausea isn’t there I worry (absent in the morning) and when it arrives post 11am I feel relief and rubbish at the same time!

CurlyWurlyTwos · 06/07/2021 09:18

@EmCEmC - did you have your scan for bleeding yet?

Hope that things are okay xxx

EmCEmC · 06/07/2021 09:36

Hi @CurlyWurlyTwos thanks for checking in. The bleeding stopped on Saturday (went brown) and I had some funky discharge on Sunday (sorry if TMI!) and after speaking with the IVF nurse, she advised that as there was no new red blood, there was no need to be worried. We discussed getting a scan for today but worried it might be too early to hear anything so I'm waiting for my first scan on Thursday afternoon as planned. Decided I'd rather have a concrete conclusion on Thursday than a 'hmmm we're not sure' today and drag it out further. Plus the costs!!

Will let you know how it goes. I'm feeling hopeful it's going to be ok xx

LewishamMum · 06/07/2021 10:59

Can I join? I'm expecting my 2nd DC on around 16 Feb, but will probably be a week late if my first is anything to go by.
My IVF also worked first time (well, so far, currently 8 + 1), as did my last one too.

CurlyWurlyTwos · 06/07/2021 11:02

It’s very positive bleeding has stopped @EmCEmC - keep fingers crossed for you.

I had exactly the same, and due to my history assumed that it was over, but it was actually okay!

We both have Thursday scans 😬, urgh…..

Let’s hope it’ll be a good day for both of us!

CurlyWurlyTwos · 06/07/2021 11:06

Hi at @LewishamMum

Sorry, we must have posted at the same time!

I’m a week behind you (7+3) on my 3rd IVF attempt. 1st two didn’t work out for me, hopefully 3rd time lucky…..

I’m a nervous wreck though (a queasy one at that)……

Bladette84 · 06/07/2021 11:20

@CurlyWurlyTwos these last few weeks have felt like time had actually stopped! Having a haematoma made it feel like I would never get to this point. Keep going, one day at a time

Bladette84 · 06/07/2021 16:21

Our scan went well, bean was measuring perfectly and everything looked good! Really hoping that I can finally start to relax!

CurlyWurlyTwos · 06/07/2021 22:29

That’s great! Enjoy if you can - leave this anxious 1st trimester behind you!

DoctorBambino · 08/07/2021 17:22

Glad the scan went well @Bladette84! Anyone else with scans this week?

I've had more bleeding/spotting this week which I'm trying not to let stress me out too much as the sonographer did say there was lots of blood around my uterus from implantation. It's really hard not to worry though 😞
