Hi ladies, I just found out I'm pregnant 4 weeks 1 day just seeing if there's any other newly pregnant who are as excited, terrified, elated, and shocked as I am 😂🤰🏻💕 Due Jan 30th 2022 🤞🤞🤞

I’ve had a early scan today. I know my DH was really nervous but I didn’t feel anything because I didn’t really believe that I was pregnant. But I am and we saw a little peanut shaped blur with a flickering heartbeat. Apparently I’m measuring at 8+1 but don’t think that is physically possible because it would mean a conception before we had sex. The sonographer did say that the date given at 12 weeks is THE date and not to take it too seriously. I felt a bit emotional to see the little life inside me after coming to terms with childlessness.

@OttilieKnackered i am in N northamptonshire, I did not have to fill any form but Just call the midwife service, give my name and wait for the 8 wk mark to be called for the booking appointment - from there in a couple of days I got the first appointments for blood (via email) and 12wk scan (in the post). In my case I am having everything 1 week in advance because according to my LMP I should be 1 week ahead of what I actually am (and I know that because I was tracking my LH and I have ovulated around CD21, not 14).
@thecapitalsunited I am glad your early scan went well!!
I have mine tomorrow and I am starting to be really nervous... Last time I was in this situation we went for the scan and got bad news, I can't help but think it will be the same again tomorrow :(

OttilieKnackered · 19/06/2021 17:38

@EsseKey ah ok, well I’m not 8 weeks til tomorrow so hopefully my call will be soonish.

Best of luck with your scan. Remember: there’s much more chance of everything being grand than not.

Hi Ladies!! Hope you don’t mind me joining! I’ll be 31 next Su day (feels mental saying that I’m sure I’m still in my 20s 😆) and expecting my first baby 27th Jan next year which I think I saw is the same date as a few others!! X

thecapitalsunited · 19/06/2021 18:34

@EsseKey Best of luck for your scan tomorrow. Keeping everything crossed for you.

EsseKey · 19/06/2021 18:43

Thanks ladies @OttilieKnackered @thecapitalsunited Xx

Yorkiemum89 · 19/06/2021 18:57

Hi all! Had my early scan today and saw the heartbeat 🥰 was a lovely feeling as I've recently had lessened symptoms with my boobs becoming less painful and a little bit of spotting too!! So was definitely braced for the worst...

Just to reassure people out there that have no nausea that things can still progress quite nicely even though you don't have sickness! Obviously I could wake up tomorrow and feel totally sick but I haven't up until this point which has worried me!

I thought I was 7+6 today but they said 7+4 (trying not to google anything!!) they said that was normal? So I'm actually due 1st feb now according to the new dates so I hope I'm still welcome on this thread 😂 hope all of you ladies are doing good and good luck to all of you having your scans too! I couldn't sleep last night! Xx

Yorkiemum89 · 19/06/2021 19:03

@EsseKey good luck for your scan tomorrow. Sending lots of good vibes your way xx

EsseKey · 19/06/2021 19:24

@Yorkiemum89 thank you X

Yes I am pretty sure that a couple of days difference don't mean anything, it could be the baby being slighty smaller, or maybe you have ovulated a couple days later, or the measurement was not precise, or a combination of that! So glad it was ok for you 😊

thecapitalsunited · 19/06/2021 20:33

@Yorkiemum89 I had a google about the dates because I was put 3 days ahead of where I thought I was and there is a fair bit of leeway either side. So I measured 16mm which on average is 8+1 but 5th percentile is 7+3 and the 95th percentile is 8+5. So basically, it’s still an estimate and a few days either way is nothing to worry about - the measurement for the 7+4 average size goes from 7+0 to 8+2. And as EsseKey, there are a bunch of other reasons why your dates might be a few days out. The human body doesn’t run like clockwork!

Ahh this has set my mind at ease, thank you!! 😊😊 my pregnancy resolution is to just calm it a bit but it's so much easier said than done!

Tangfastic91 · 20/06/2021 15:52

Hi ladies, hope everyone is well. Just wanted to see if anyone elses nausea is the same as mine. I have an almost constant feeling like I can feel my stomach contenta backing up into my oesophagus, but I'm not actually concerned that I'll be sick. Is anyone elses the same? This is different than usual nausea for me where you just feel lousy and unable to move.

Jonesy88 · 20/06/2021 16:30

@Yorkiemum89 my early scan put me at 2nd Feb but I’m staying in this group - I feel like I have a bond so I’m staying put Grin. It’s still a bit early to know properly anyway - the sonographer said in the early days it’s not such an exact science as there’s only a couple of flags they can rely on.

EsseKey · 20/06/2021 21:25

@Tangfastic91 for me it's like yours at times, but most of the time is just the feeling of general tiredness and not wanting food anywhere near me (although i know that food is actually making me feel better).
@Jonesy88 of course you have to remain here 😊😊😊

I had my early scan today, bean measuring 8+3 so as expected, beautiful heartbeat, I couldn't be happier today! Actually maybe I would if just I did not have this horrible nausea 🤢

Tangfastic91 · 21/06/2021 10:42

@essekey so glad your scan went well! I have my midwife appointment this week, makes it all a bit more real. Decided not to have any scans before 12 weeks but my gosh these weeks do drag!!

SouthwestSis · 21/06/2021 10:58

Thought I was the only one not getting an early scan @Tangfastic91!
My midwife appointment is a week today but it is over the phone, so hard to get excited about a 1.5hour chat on the phone! They've sent me lots of paperwork to do too though. And still don't have an appointment to have my bloods done and am 9+1 today.
Oh and I'm moving house next week. Has been so busy/stressful with the moving stuff and work that sometimes I manage to forget I'm pregnant!

Yorkiemum89 · 21/06/2021 11:01

I still haven't heard anything from the GP or midwife, is that the same for others too?

Tangfastic91 · 21/06/2021 11:04

@SouthwestSis oh that's interesting! Mine is in person with a blood test. I guess it must be a regional difference. I'm 8+6 so a couple days behind you.
Best of luck with the house move, make sure the kettle and tea bags are easy to get to!

Tangfastic91 · 21/06/2021 11:05

@Yorkiemum89 I was told to call them if I hadn't received a booking appointment by 8 weeks. Could be worth chasing depending on how far you are? I'm sure some people must slip through the cracks just based on volume.

Alle1991 · 21/06/2021 11:56

I’m 8+3 and not heard anything about my booking appointment. I was thinking if I hadn’t heard anything by Friday afternoon I’d give them a call

Yorkiemum89 · 21/06/2021 12:00

@Tangfastic91 thanks, am 8 weeks tomorrow (based on early scan) so I'll give them a call this week if I don't hear anything 😊 it still doesn't feel real until I get that appointment booked in haha x

sociallydistained · 21/06/2021 12:17

I’ve just found out I’m pregnant a few days ago and I’m 8 weeks.+ 😬 Very much still in shock!
I haven’t made any calls or appointments yet but I will call this week. I have struggled to come to terms with if I want the baby or not and I feel terribly guilty for it but I think I have come to conclusion I do.

I just wish I knew sooner because I am one of those cases who had what I thought were two periods 🤦🏻‍♀️ I did notice they were light but they were both bang on time and so I put the thought out of my mind. Also had a blood test for something else and thought if I’m pregnant they’ll tell me…. Nope! Something made me do the test though! On reflection all my symptoms have been so obvious 🤦🏻‍♀️

I am due end of Jan x

ChelleV · 21/06/2021 13:15

@Yorkiemum89 I should've had my first call last week (8 weeks) but instead it'll be this week at some point but don't know when except after Tuesday, which will make me 9 weeks. But they did automatically book me a scan (does anyone else have zero control over their appointments and is becoming a real pain to their employer?!) which is for 15th July and was told to leave up to 3 hours for it as it's usually long and involves bloods and history and all that too.

ChelleV · 21/06/2021 13:16

@sociallydistained you're not alone - my friend's sister had normal length periods until she was 4 months in and noticed a little baby bump. She had a period in month 5 too! But it means she just had no idea until then. Fortunately she's the type to only have a glass of wine with a meal and doesn't really consume much caffeine. Also, congrats and welcome to the club!

Tangfastic91 · 21/06/2021 13:25

@sociallydistained welcome!
@ChelleV sounds like we are similar dates (I'm 8+6 today). Not had scan appointment date yet but now I'm worried seeing yours. 15th and 16th I absolutely cannot do!! Is there really no way to change them?
