Hi ladies, I just found out I'm pregnant 4 weeks 1 day just seeing if there's any other newly pregnant who are as excited, terrified, elated, and shocked as I am 😂🤰🏻💕 Due Jan 30th 2022 🤞🤞🤞

@SemiFeralDalek how are you? I remember you from a previous thread. Have EPU offered betas? I had a possible ectopic last year (ended up just being a miscarriage) but they did my blood betas because they'll be much lower for ectopic. They also told me to call instantly if I took paracetamol and was still in pain.

Really hoping for a good outcome for you. You really deserve it xx

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 01/06/2021 14:27

I'm mid thirties also, due early Feb I think, only 12 dpo today. Have just read the thread. Feeling a bit anxious also.

@Kayl23 I read you were so sad about your parents/PiLs reactions. I wonder if they (misguidedly) think they're being thoughtful by preventing you getting your hopes up just in case. What a PP said about the older generation. My lovely mum said 'oh well, sorry, but you were very early' when I miscarried at 7 weeks. She had two miscarriages herself. My nan told me I'd probably left it a bit late to have children 😂 I've actually been telling friends about having had a loss and it's amazing how many people open up about theirs also, or about their fertility struggles. So I won't be keeping this pregnancy a secret either

HLou18 · 01/06/2021 15:13

Hi! I'm expecting my first child in January 2022 - I'm 5 weeks and 4 days so due date is 28th January (my mum's birthday, she's definitely going to cry when she finds out!)

It's my dad's birthday today and we're going out for a meal tonight. It's going to be so hard not to tell him and my mum that they're going to be grandparents, but I'm gonna hold out for a bit longer. My best friend guessed straight away so at least I have someone to talk to about it (apart from my OH, obviously!)

EsseKey · 01/06/2021 15:53

Hi everyone I hope you are all keeping well!

I am in a completely no symptom phase a part from some sporadic little cramps/feeling heavy in my belly...
last week for a couple of days I had a horrible metallic taste in my mouth, but it's gone now.
It's weird this time for me not getting any sore breasts - I am a bit concerned about that, but then I think that even if according to my LMP i am 6wk+2, I am actually 5wk+2 because I have ovulated late - so I guess it might still be too early!
I have found out about this pregnancy so early (I think it was around 10 dpo), that it feels I have been pregnant for months now! Time really slows down....

OttilieKnackered · 01/06/2021 19:34

@EsseKey yep, time slowing down is so true, especially as there’s no glass of wine or three to fuzz things round the edges.

I am feeling nothing aside from a slight queasiness on waking (which eases quickly) and my boobs are still inflated. I’m actually desperate for proper morning sickness which is a ridiculous way to feel.

Jonesy88 · 01/06/2021 21:28

Can I join tentatively please? I’m 33, 1st pregnancy with a predicted due date of 29th Jan.

I’m currently scared clearblue are doing me dirty as I had a UTI pretty much 1 week after conception (treated with antibiotics) and google says they can cause false positives?! Not sure if that could fool the dating pregnancy test though. Still feels too good to be true

EsseKey · 02/06/2021 11:02

Hi @Jonesy88, congratulations! I have no idea how antibiotics could interact with the preg test (how strong the line, for how long etc...)...I hope this is a true positive, maybe double check with your GP probably you will have to test again in a week or so...? fingers crossed!!

SouthwestSis · 02/06/2021 12:46

Hi all, I'd like to join the crew please!
I'm 32, and due around the 25th Jan with pregnancy number 1, just had my first positive test yesterday and am feeling excited but also a bit overwhelmed atm as we are due to move house in the next month too!
Trying to focus on keeping myself healthy, eating well and getting exercise, and just waiting fir me booking appointment withthe midwife to come in the post.
Nice to have some people to chat things through with other than the other half :)

EsseKey · 02/06/2021 13:06

@SouthwestSis congrats on your pregnancy! I would say that even if it feels overwhelming the house move might turn out to be beneficial as it will keep you busy until your first appointment! 😉 These first weeks are so long!

OttilieKnackered · 02/06/2021 13:28

Hi all. I’m now in a bit of a state. I stupidly decided to do another test and the line is far far weaker than the first one.

Both were middle of the day wees so that’s not the reason. I will pop out for more and try to remember to test first things but can anyone reassure me this has happened to them as well?

spttc · 02/06/2021 16:06

@OttilieKnackered I saw on another thread at a certain point that happens with first response test as the hormone level is too high, as those are early tests. It's called the "hook effect". I'd get a digital and forget the first response or any line based test! I bet it's absolutely fine!

Clarkey86 · 02/06/2021 16:46

@OttilieKnackered How far were you at the first test and the second test?

If it’s early days (around your missed period) it could unfortunately be a chemical, but if you’re a bit later on 5+ weeks and have no bleeding or pain etc it’s more likely to be the hook effect

OttilieKnackered · 02/06/2021 17:34

First was at 4 weeks and I’m now 5.3.

thecapitalsunited · 02/06/2021 18:00

@OttilieKnackered Don’t forget that even though they were both middle of the day wees, your urine strength will depend on how much you’ve had to drink. I know I’ve had more liquid today than I would have a week or so ago because the temperatures are much higher. I’ve also been peeing more often so everything stays more diluted.

spttc · 02/06/2021 18:19

@OttilieKnackered if it was me I would do a digital test first thing tomorrow morning or tonight after a 2-3 hour hold with not too much to drink. You should get 2-3 or 3+ on that to be on track. Fingers crossed for you. I really think it will be fine 🤞❤️

OP posts:
Jonesy88 · 02/06/2021 18:39

@OttilieKnackered - a line is a line! I think how old/new the test is can impact the inkiness. I’d go for a digital one to be sure.

OttilieKnackered · 02/06/2021 18:39

I’ve spoken to my partner and I think actually I’m not going to test at all. I was feeling much more positive before this and I don’t want to get stuck in a spiral of testing. Almost nothing I can do at this stage anyway so I’m just going to trust my body and hope that all is ok.

My boobs still hurt and I feel quite queasy so if I hadn’t taken it I’d have no doubts. As someone said it may well be more diluted now or whatever.

Thank you all. This is such a rollercoaster!

thecapitalsunited · 02/06/2021 19:00

I’ve been umming and ahhing over a private viability scan but I think I would also get myself into a spiral. It’s like an MOT, it only tells you everything is fine one that day, it’s not proof against something going wrong tomorrow or a week down the line. I’m going to try to do the same thing Ottilie suggests and trust in my body.

Kayl23 · 03/06/2021 07:47

Morning ladies how are we all doing today? Has anyone started with any new symptoms? I still hardly have any, I never thought I'd be so desperate to start feeling sick hahaha

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 03/06/2021 08:04

Morning. Nausea and fuzzy headedness and I'm only 4.5 weeks so shouldn't have this yet 😩 Anyone else have a phobia of vomiting?

Jonesy88 · 03/06/2021 08:05

Morning @Kayl23! I dont have anything apart from occasional cramping and my digestive system still being a bit slow. I swear I’ve convinced myself of bigger symptoms in previous 2 week waits.

bailey1802 · 03/06/2021 08:45

@Kayl23 My gosh please don't be desperate to feel sick 😅 .. @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I've been suffering with severe nausea from around 4.5 too (Im around 7+3 now) and it's really affecting me. I struggle to complete normal daily tasks like even showering!

The only thing keeping me going is, I live in Spain & out here they see you at 6 weeks. So I've been to the hospital & seen little bean where they should be & heard a strong heartbeat. But I still have moments I feel guilty for thinking I can't take this nausea anymore x

EsseKey · 03/06/2021 09:03

Morning everyone! Still little to no symptoms for me...
just the occasional little cramping, the metallic taste in my mouth which was very strong last week is now gone, I think my nipples are a bit sensitive/sore...but not my breasts. I don't know if that is even possible ahaha

@thecapitalsunited you are right about the early viability scan! I think it is very personal decision to take it or not, I think the most important thing is to be aware of the limitations of what you see at this stage (like you said!). In my personal experience, getting an early scan at 8 weeks where we got the sad news that a miscarriage was on its way (previous pregnancy) really helped me preparing physically and psychologically to what was coming - but I talked to many people who would have preferred to not have known...

@bailey1802 ah lucky duck you live in Spain!! lovely! I have friends there who also told me that the antenatal checks begin very early...I think it's the same in Italy (where all my family and friends live), everyone has blood tests and all sorts of checks done as soon as they find out... it was a bit of a shock finding out that in the UK you don't get anything done until around 10 weeks... but it makes sense I guess!

Fraanne · 03/06/2021 09:32

Morning everyone! Still shattered all the time but getting used to just going to bed earlier, I have had a tiny bit of nausea where cooking something can make me feel a little sicky but it comes randomly, some days none some days more! I booked a 8 weeks scan just for peace of mind for me because I was on Clomid for this pregnancy (double checking if there are twins or not) I highly doubt there would be as my symptoms are minimal!

Really off food at the moment though but hungry?! Does anyone else have this? If food is put in front of me I will eat it but the whole thinking of food I just don’t want it 🤦🏻‍♀️😂
