Totally with you all with the value and reassurance of the early scans. I've given in with it though as I don't want to drag him along when his heart isn't in it. He'll be in trouble if our 12 week scan goes badly though! It's a shame as since I've not been feeling 100%, it was one thing I was excited about keeping me going. I may have symptoms but it still won't feel real until I see an ultrasound.

I got a letter through today saying my booking appointment next Thursday was cancelled and panicked but it turns out they rescheduled it for the same day, just 30 mins later πŸ˜…

@lucyrp leaking already? Didn't think it started to soon!

Justanothercyster · 21/05/2021 18:03

@2020mission sorry you have to wait longer, hope it wizzes past for you and bubba is growing nicely in there πŸ’•

Got my 20 week scan apt through today πŸ₯³ 22nd June in the afternoon, can't wait to see baby again πŸ‘ΆπŸ½ also anxious though as I'm terrified something will be wrong/ no growth. It never gets easier does it!

Oh girls I fear my gallstones are starting to play me up😫 haven't had any problems with them for 2 years nearly but I was warned during pregnancy a lot of women get them or get attacks etc if they already have them as they can get worse in pregnancy. The midwife however said that they wouldn't bother me so much during the pregnancy but likely afterwards... however this week I've had some bouts of heartburn combined with being sick which I couldn't explain. We went out for food last night with my best friend and her OH just to a local pub, half way through my meal I got a stitch like pain in my belly and pain radiating round my left side into my back and then shoulder pain in my right shoulder blade. I tried to remain calm all the way home as when I get stressed the adrenalin courses through my body and makes the attacks come on 100 times worse. Managed to get home and use a hot water bottle to relieve the back pain and go to sleep but I'm constantly feeling fragile now and like an attack could come at any time which would mean excruciating pain worse than child birth and going into hospital for pain relief and fluids for at least a few days 😭 looks like I will only be eating fruit and veg for a few days trying to calm it down as any dairy, meat, fats etc can set it off and it seems like my body has already been collecting the fat from the few fatty meals I've had this week 😭 not what I wanted

Justanothercyster · 22/05/2021 07:13

@lucyrp oh no! My fil had really bad attacks and one night for taken to hospital and had to have the surgery, was constantly throwing up. I'd ring your gp of it gets any worse or keeps happening as you know it can get worse very quickly. Veg and lots of fluids sounds like a good plan. Hope you're ok

lucyrp · 22/05/2021 07:44

@Justanothercyster everytime I've had an attack I've spent at least a week in hospital on pain relief and IV fluids 😩 I normally start throwing up and can't stop too even if there is nothing left to throw up. Constantly feeling anxious now as I know it could happen at anytime, just feel very fragile 😣

2020mission · 22/05/2021 15:53

Aww @lucyrp I hope you don't end up with those again. You're doing the best thing keeping calm and trying to avoid the worse food. Fingers crossed it won't happen to you again. I think you've already had enough vomiting with the morning sickness you definitely don't deserve to have to suffer again with gallstones! Take it easy.

Kirky658 · 22/05/2021 16:47

@lucyrp oh god hun no! Haven't ever suffered myself but know they can be absolutely awful. Hope you're ok?

Just been to meet our neighbours 2 week old little boy. I'm in love. He is gorgeous. Can't wait for our little bundle of joy xx

TickTockTee · 22/05/2021 18:12

Been awol for a couple of weeks, my anxiety has been pretty bad but had my booking in appt this week as I'm just over 10 weeks. Midwife was lovely but difficult to go back over the miscarriages and stillbirth. She's referring me to the same consultant I've had in previous pregnancies and strongly recommended I self refer for counselling now as it takes ages to get through the waiting lists. Just want to get to 4th June for my 12 week scan as I've had a bit of spotting but no more big bleeds.

@Sausage1900 and @Minster2012 no words to say how sorry I am for what you're going through, sending both of you lots of love x

@lucyrp hope you feeling better today and gallstone symptoms have calmed down.

SamoyedFan123 · 22/05/2021 20:20

@lucyrp you poor thing, that sounds really awful. I hope the diet charges help settle things down and you don't have to go to hospital 🀞🀞🀞

lucyrp · 23/05/2021 07:01

@2020mission me too, they are honestly the worst pain imaginable. I thought I was being a wimp when I first had attacks and felt like I was having a heart attack as my OH wasn't very understanding but obviously neither of us knew what was wrong with me and then a nurse in hospital said that many women describe the pain as worse than child birth which it definitely is! Must add now we know what's wrong he is very understanding and is so great when I'm ill πŸ™ˆ ah thank you, I had work yesterday so was able to keep busy and didn't eat anything that should set them off.

@Kirky658 yeah I'm okay at the moment thank you, like I said just very cautious as it could happen at any time πŸ˜– newborn cuddles are the best!

@SamoyedFan123 it's annoying as I haven't been eating rubbishly but sometimes for whatever reason the gallbladder can get overloaded with fat as it starts collecting it πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ something like that, so just have to make sure I have nothing over the top πŸ™„

Kate105 · 23/05/2021 08:47

Hi everyone sorry I've been AWOL but work this week has been manic! Hope you're all doing ok, sorry about the gallstones @lucyrp I have a friend who has problems with them and it sounds horrific 😬

I'm doing fine, just buried in work! Only 1 more week until half term... And I get to go back for my rescan this week so hoping baby is more cooperative this time πŸ˜‚πŸ™ˆπŸ€žπŸ»

Hopeful110 · 23/05/2021 09:07

Morninggg ladies! Ahhh I'm so rubbish at keeping up! I read and then think of everything to reply to and then forget it by the time it comes to typing 🀭

But I hope everyone is plodding or waddling along nicely? Sorry your gallstones are playing you up @lucyrp :( @Minster2012 so basically you are superwoman? With a strong ass b*tch uterus!

I'm 8 weeks tomorrow! 😬 had a little scare on Wednesday and had a scan and saw the heartbeat so that's a huge relief! EDD is 3rd Jan, but likely to be 13th-20th December due to medical reasons I can't get to 40 weeks or risk going into natural labour xx
So for those of us who are under 20 weeks.... what are we thinking about finding out the genders? If so what are we planning to announce?

Justanothercyster · 23/05/2021 09:24

Argh I've been really anxious these past couple of days. Period like cramps again which I thought would end by 16 weeks, just paranoid that my bump is deflating and baby has stopped growing. Not really sure how to stay sane until my scan but don't want to book a private one as I know it's irrational.

@lucyrp I'm surprised they haven't said they'd take it out for you yet then if it's been several times. Hope it doesn't get that bad this time x

@TickTockTee understandably difficult with what you've been through, counselling is definitely a good idea x

@Hopeful110 were keeping the gender a surprise x

OP posts:
lucyrp · 23/05/2021 09:27

@Justanothercyster they did give me an operation date but it was for a week before Christmas and I'd had an endoscopy a few months before hand which had sorted everything out for me so I decided not to have my gallbladder out yet seen as I am only 23 and if it played me up again I would have it out but since then haven't had any trouble obviously up until now but can't really call this trouble compared to what an actual attack is like x

TickTockTee · 23/05/2021 16:27

@Hopeful110 we found out with all of ours before but don't feel strongly about it this time, perhaps because this will be our last? I don't think we'll find out unless my OH really wants to.

@Justanothercyster sorry to hear about your anxiety, do you have a date for your next scan?

Justanothercyster · 23/05/2021 16:54

@lucyrp hopefully you'll get sorted when it's safe to do it x

@TickTockTee it's just not knowing about everything but my bump looks bigger again today haha, I can't win. Scan is on the 22nd June, just got to wait a month gaaaah

OP posts:
2020mission · 23/05/2021 17:28

Aww @Justanothercyster it will be easier when you start feeling baby kicking, hopefully soon!

We're definitely going to find out the sex if/when possible but don't think we'll do any big announcement on it. We really don't mind whether it's a girl or boy so it's all good. Can you find out at the 12 week scan or is that too soon?

lucyrp · 23/05/2021 18:38

@2020mission you can find out at 8 weeks the gender but that has to be done via bloods. If you want to find out via a scan you have to book a private scan at 16 weeks or your hospital might possibly tell you at your 20 week scan but mine never would x

2020mission · 24/05/2021 11:17

Oh @lucyrp had no idea they were so against telling you. I'll just have to try and use the nub theory then 🀣

I just got a call to say my booking appointment on Thursday is now going to be over the phone instead of in the hospital as planned. Did you ladies have to do yours over the phone? It makes things easier at least and guarantees OH can join.

Hope everyone is doing ok.

lucyrp · 24/05/2021 11:21

@2020mission I think it depends on the trust as my last pregnancy I was never offered to find out the gender but this time they did ask me but it was two different trusts x I had my booking appointment in January in person, but I went in for questions and bloods then she rang me after at home to go over some more of the lengthy questions x

Kirky658 · 24/05/2021 11:37

@2020mission I had my initial booking appt at home on the phone for about an hour then went in 2 weeks later for bloods etc.. X

2020mission · 24/05/2021 14:35

More support needed ladies... who's had the vaccine? My invitation arrived today for next Monday and I'm panicking. I thought I'd have longer to think about it. I won't even be 10 weeks by next Monday! I've read that the vaccine can cause fever and fever can cause birth defects/miscarriage so I'm feeling so anxious. I didn't want to think about it until well after the 12 week mark 😫 help

lucyrp · 24/05/2021 16:59

@2020mission they do say you can have it now but I'm sure it's not until second trimester anyway, I was invited for mine and I declined until after birth. The lady on the pgone was lovely and said they would just suspend it and I could ring back and book whenever. X

2020mission · 24/05/2021 17:19

Thanks @lucyrp I might just do the same and ring the helpline to delay it for now πŸ‘ . I'm still working from home for now so I'm quite safe there's definitely no urgency and would feel much better avoiding it all during the first trimester at least!

Justanothercyster · 24/05/2021 18:08

@2020mission I've had the vaccine, Pfizer is the only safe one atm. I had no side effects at all. I had all midwife apts over the phone too apart from bloods.
