@gem176 how exciting but also so scary hey! I'm 29 weeks today and genuinely starting to panic now!

Gem176 · 30/06/2021 15:30

@Kirky658 so exciting but yeah definitely panic inducing πŸ™ˆ need to get my finger out and start on hospital bag just in case. Buggy/pram/travel system thingy arrived today and I have enough first size clothes to last a couple of days and plenty bibs/muslins/blankets/nappies/wipes so it wouldn't be absolute panic stations but still need essentials like a crib, bath and bottles/steriliser. Not going to go mental on other bits as bought swing seat, play mat etc for DD and she barely used so we'll see what this little munchkin is like before filling the house with non essentials that will gather dust in a corner 😬
How are you keeping?

Kirky658 · 30/06/2021 16:11

@gem176 very sensible! We've got all the major stuff now luckily cot is arriving next week but DD will be in a moses basket to begin with as our room isn't large enough for a cot. Just need a few more bits of clothes etc then good to go. I'm doing OK thanks lovely just bloody exhausted all the time! She's pummelling me with her feet very regularly she's an active little monkey lol x

Justanothercyster · 30/06/2021 18:19

@Gem176 all sounds really good, and yay for girl πŸ’•

@Kirky658 today I've actually gutted our bedroom to make room for a bedside crib, no way we will fit a cot into our room either! Think you can get one with wheels so it can be moved from bedroom to living room for day sleeping and if not I'll just get a Moses basket for living room. Although saying that the V2 carrycot is apparently safe for overnight sleeping so could even use that for day time naps as you can buy a stand for it πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ
I've got plenty of the newborn size clothes but enough "tiny baby" sized bits to last a few days for if she is really tiny. Can always get more if needed. But don't want to buy loads in case she is a decent bit over the 6lbs mark. With all the growth scans we should have a good idea before she arrives what sort of weight she will be.
Oh the kicks, i'd forgotten how bloody painful some can be and how weird the hiccups are!! I'm finished up work now so the tiredness is nowhere near as bad as it could be, don't know how I'd be coping if o was still working πŸ™ˆ how long have you got left? Is your husband finishing up for summer soon? Xx

Kirky658 · 30/06/2021 18:59

@gem176 I'm really not coping if I'm being totally honest. Work is super stressful, I burst into tears earlier. Just can't cope with it. The dog is being so naughty, he's eaten the Β£100 headphones I got for DH's birthday. My moods are out of control.

DH finishes in 2 weeks time thank god so least I'll have a bit of company.

Kiwibabyjourney · 30/06/2021 21:27

@Justanothercyster
Exactly, luckily atm I have only experienced mild nausea but by the time we go away it may get worse, so yeah I think we've done the best thing 🀣🀣
We are going away for 4 nights and now going to a zoo instead 😁 which I'm really looking to, probably more than the theme park 🀣

Justanothercyster · 01/07/2021 16:34

Just seen your post on the othe thread @Kirky658 , glad you're feeling a bit better, do take it easy if you can x

@Kiwibabyjourney hoping it stays mild for you! Im so thankful that bit is over for me! Was awful.

So I get what people mean by others making comments to pregnant women now. People have been so "honest" about how my bump has grown today, one person actually stared and then apologised πŸ€” felt like saying, "yes, at least I have a human in me, what's your excuse?"

@justanothercyster thanks lovely ❀️ omg. I know people are incredible. We were walking the dog last week and two people stopped me to ask when baby was due and seemed astounded when I said September. Next time someone asks I'm gonna day 'what baby?!' see how they react 🀣🀣🀣

Justanothercyster · 01/07/2021 17:49

@Kirky658 people are so rude! Haha! I had an old man say to me "not long now then" the other day whilst walking the dog. He was mortified when I said November πŸ˜‚

@justanothercyster brilliant 🀣

Justanothercyster · 02/07/2021 06:16

Morning! I've discovered the app Peanut as I've been trying to find pregnant people who are in my area to try to meet up with. Just because we've only moved here recently and I don't want to be isolated during mat leave as we don't know anyone here!
Anyway, if I refer friends and they join I'll get rewards, so please have a look at this link 😁 it's actually really good: peanut.app.link/wEQRavVvyhb

Hi ladies, I just wanted to let you know that my little one was finally born yesterday evening after a could of days of induction and an extremely rough 12 hour labour, but he is soooo worth it all now - we are so in love. ❀️ Final weight turned out to be 8lb 12oz in the end so a big boy but not the hulk we had been told to expect!

@SamoyedFan123 aww wow! Congratulations! Sorry to hear you had a tough time but definitely worth it when you look at that little face πŸ₯ΊπŸ₯°

Thinkingandblinking · 02/07/2021 09:46

Congratulations @SamoyedFan123! Sounds like it was a long old slog, but he is gorgeous and time to enjoy the snuggles x

Haiyaa · 02/07/2021 10:02

Awwwwww @SamoyedFan123 he is beautiful 😍 hope you are all settling in well.

2020mission · 02/07/2021 11:00

Aww congratulations @SamoyedFan123 he's lovely!

@Justanothercyster Juno mentioned peanut a while back and I looked at it but I've been holding off from joining until my employer knows about my pregnancy incase any colleagues are on it πŸ˜… I've still only told close family and friends about the pregnancy so far. Quite enjoying the secret although now I have a wee bump at 14 weeks I'll need to share it soon.

Justanothercyster · 02/07/2021 12:22

@SamoyedFan123 awww congrats! Little lovely boy πŸ’™

@2020mission aww cute, I loved watching bump grow x

Kate105 · 02/07/2021 17:12

Congratulations @SamoyedFan123 sorry you've been through the mill but what a wee dote! ❀️❀️❀️

Clairey844 · 02/07/2021 22:54

@SamoyedFan123 huge congratulations β™₯️β™₯️
Sorry to read you had a rough time but I'm sure he's made it all worthwhile. Glad he wasn't the toddler sized baby they had you believe too xxx

Gem176 · 02/07/2021 23:00

@SamoyedFan123 Congratulations, he's beautiful and so wide awake!!

@Kirky658 aw hun, sorry you are feeling so overwhelmed ❀️ if our dog had eaten Β£100 headphones I'd have lost it, ours instead chewed a Β£5 hula hoop of DDs and that very nearly tipped me over the edge!! I've never been so grumpy and bad tempered πŸ™ˆ slightest things enrage me. I'm not sure if I'll even be approachable by the end of august πŸ˜‚

On the bump thing, I think people just see a bump and feel the need to comment and acknowledge that they have noticed you are pregnant. The "not long now" line is just a really easy way of acknowledging your pregnancy/starting a conversation about it, I don't think they consider that it could be really offensive πŸ™ˆ
I finally have a noticeable bump and I'm having fun with it, went in to collect a curry the other night and the lovely owner noticed and said questioningly "baby?" So I said "oh no, just lockdown fat" his face was a picture πŸ˜‚ thankfully he knows my OH quite well and has a really good sense of humour so laughed it off with me when I finally said it was a baby. He then insisted on carrying the bag to the car for me πŸ₯Ί

After the baby pics I'm now desperately wanting to fast forward the next 9ish weeks to get my hands on my own bubba πŸ‘ΆπŸ»

Kiwibabyjourney · 04/07/2021 10:56

How is everyone doing?

Huge congratulations @SamoyedFan123 he's beautiful 😁😁

Kirky658 · 04/07/2021 14:58

OK here aside from the worst mood swings I've ever known in my life @kiwibabyjourney. The anger I am feeling is indescribable. Scares me sometimes. Having a rubbish week with a flat tyre this morning on my car ie a slow puncture so it's just been one thing after another.

Can't wait for DH to finish school 16th so he can crack on with jobs on my list to do before baby arrives, it's stressing me out

@lucyrp hope you are taking it easy during your days stint babe x

Thinkingandblinking · 04/07/2021 15:42

@Kirky658 I’m the same, I have the shortest fuse, can be fine one minute and then flying off the handle! Feel like I have no mechanism for relaxing, not drinking, not running, no real social stuff….it’s putting a bit of a dampener on things as feel guilty and low after being stropey but then hour so later loosing it again!!! Ahhhhh!!
