Oo thanks @Daffodil21 I'll get some today to give it try!

alittlexmasmagic · 03/05/2021 09:41

@notinthestarsigns I agree, I got DS pram from Pramworld (Winstanleys - Wigan?) and they were fab x

lucyrp · 03/05/2021 10:21

Found a bargain pram on marketplace last night £150 for an egg with the carrycot and seat and it looks in okay condition apart from a few marks I should be able to clean and if not found a seperate carrycot for £30 the same colour which is great!

biscuitcat · 03/05/2021 11:46

@Whatshouldbemyusername the massage sounds so lovely! A shame to hear you have to wear a mask though - I had wondered about a pregnancy massage but I struggle with masks so much that I don't think I'd enjoy it at all. Might have a facial instead, they can't make you use a mask for that!

We're off to Cornwall for a couple of nights in June - along with the rest of the country I suspect! It's so odd, I usually hate busy holidays and we purposefully go to places out of season or to unpopular destinations to avoid crowds, but after this past year I honestly can't wait to be surrounded by people!

wimbler · 03/05/2021 13:36

@biscuitcat I had a pregnancy massage a few weeks ago and I was allowed to take my mask off for the treatment which was a nice surprise. I was definitely expecting to have to wear it the whole time so perhaps it depends on where you go?

georgarina · 03/05/2021 14:07

Hi, can I join? EDD 13 August with a girl x

Aaaaa1519 · 03/05/2021 14:27

@Smurf123 just saw your heartburn post loveheart sweets have worked amazingly for my Sil. Watermelon/yellow melon does the trick for me

BertieBotts · 03/05/2021 14:57

Wow Lucy that's a great price!

Welcome georgarina.

notinthestarsigns · 03/05/2021 15:06

Yes @alittlexmasmagic, that’s the one. It’s a bit of a drive from us but about 5 minutes down the road from my Nan so meant we could pop to see her aswell. They had so much more on display than John Lewis and the prices were really good too.

HopefulB · 03/05/2021 17:36

Heartburn sufferers, try not to take omeprazole and Gaviscon at the same time - it can be counter productive. The Omeprazole works best about half an hour before food & Gavsicon works best after meals & at bedtime.

Yoghurt/ probiotics may be worth a go for overall digestive health.

If it’s bad at night try raising the head of your bed - by putting something under the feet, not adding pillows as they may make bump feel squashed.

Well done @lucyrp - sounds like a bargain!

Fran919 · 03/05/2021 17:37

The massage sounds amazing! I’ll have to look at where does them near me!

We’re also heading to Cornwall in June, ahead of the 21st though in case the social distancing / people limit is removed, I’d personally prefer a few restrictions.

Also been pram shopping today, went to Kiddies Kingdom in Yorkshire, it’s a drive away but unfortunately pram world didn’t have the one I wanted to see on display but I’ll probably end up buying from there. I’m undecided between two just going to look out for any good details and make a decision from there!

Ready2020 · 03/05/2021 18:04

I had my massage today. It was nice and I didn't need a mask once settled. Though the lady talked all the way through it.

Not sure if anyone remembers my saying about my sister and her stomach cancer diagnosis. She got test results today that show there is nothing they can do for her. The cancer is in her nodules (whatever that means) so will spread. Chemo might help extend her life but the most expected is 5 years. She's only 40 and just starting her nursing degree. I'm still processing all this really. Still trying to understand how a 40 year old woman can die from stomach cancer. I hate the uncertainty of it all. No one can know how long she has really. I hope she lives long enough for my daughter to know and remember her.

Daffodil21 · 03/05/2021 19:11

@Ready2020 I'm so so sorry to hear that. I don't quite know what to say, but I'm thinking of you and your family. We're all here if you need us. Life can be so cruel sometimes. Sending hugs x

Ava50x · 03/05/2021 19:28

@Ready2020 devastated for you. I was wondering how she's doing. Thanks for update and i'm so sorry you've had such awful news. Sending you big hugs... and thinking of you both.

@georgarina welcome!

georgarina · 03/05/2021 19:31

@BertieBotts @Daffodil21 @Ava50x thanks everyone :) happy to have found this group

notinthestarsigns · 03/05/2021 19:39

That’s awful @Ready2020, I’m so sorry xx

biscuitcat · 03/05/2021 19:55

Oh @Ready2020 I'm so sorry to hear that - life is just so unfair sometimes. Thinking of you and your family and sending hugs xxx

LaceyMermaid · 03/05/2021 19:58

So sorry to hear that @Ready2020 that’s devastating xx

HopefulB · 03/05/2021 20:00

Sorry to hear that @Ready2020, I hope you’re all getting the support you need & that she was able to have someone present for the appointments - that’s one of the things that has bothered me most about covid restrictions, no one should receive life changing news alone.

There are some really good resources available via cancer research uk & Macmillan website if/when you feel ready to take a look.

lucyrp · 03/05/2021 21:23

@BertieBotts @HopefulB here is said bargain!

@Ready2020 so sorry to hear about your sister 🥺 so unfair. Sending you hugs xx

Due August 2021 - over half way!
BertieBotts · 03/05/2021 22:01

OMG Ready I'm so sorry to hear that, that's just awful. :(

Lucy it looks in lovely condition!

lucyrp · 03/05/2021 22:10

@BertieBotts I'm chuffed ! Needs a bit of a wash down and some new stickers for the sides but other than that absolutely bargain! 😁

Ready2020 · 03/05/2021 22:14

Thanks everyone. Still processing it all. And trying not to feel guilty that I still want to celebrate the coming of my baby. It's all a mess up of feedings in my head.

Thankfully things here in Scotland have been not bad for people attending hospital for support. I've had my partner at every scan. My sister has had her husband with her at all the appointments.

Ready2020 · 03/05/2021 22:15

Feelings.... Not feedings!
