Yeah I had bloods last week and my booking in call is next week. I was asked for the samples as the appointment, and I get given notes at the 12 week scan, I think.

@climbershell My scan is at 9:30 tomorrow morning. I’m really scared now! I didn’t know you had to keep fluids down for an hour... I downed them on the way in last time, I don’t think I could hold a full bladder for an hour. Eek!

Husband is coming with me this time, we’ve been told that’s now allowed. I had a crazy day yesterday, and don’t remember getting too much cramping, so that’s worried me 😅 I think I got away with drinking Diet Coke though, just made some jokes about dodgy wine and a busy day at work today...

I’m 7+4 today. Nausea and tiredness seems to have settled a lot, so now my symptoms are generally just being a lot more hungry than usual and the uterus cramps. I read that the placenta can be doing a lot of the work now so the hormone load levels off, so I’m hoping that’s the cause, and we’ll have our first glimpse of the heartbeat together tomorrow ❤️

Sorry there's so many of you feeling rubbish Flowers

Just called the hospital and partners CAN come to scans, they just haven't updated the letter template yet! Such a relief and worth giving them a call @Wiltshire90 / others

Scan is on 24 May, feels like forever...

Wiltshire90 · 07/05/2021 10:22

@2021DecemberDueDate fab! I have just checked my maternity unit's Facebook page and they have said they are admitting partners. Good news Smile

Elm98 · 07/05/2021 10:33

Hi 👋🏻
I’m 7+5 today and wishing all you ladies well.

I’ve been up most of the night with what I’m hoping is gas pain. It was excruciating at points but just a little sore this morning. This is mine and DH first baby after trying for ages, so I feel like we both are really nervous.

Anyone else experiencing period like cramps and gas pain? Apart from that and sensitive nipples I’m feeling pretty normal. We have booked a private 8 week reassurance scan and it cannot come quick enough.
Feel the time since finding out I’m pregnant and waiting for first midwife appointment is such a lonely time as I’m symptom spotting and no one to ask if it’s normal.
It’s horrible feeling like something will be going wrong. Confused

Wiltshire90 · 07/05/2021 10:43

@Elm98 is it in your womb/ovary area? I get pain there (has got better as I've progressed) and my scan at 8+2 showed a luteal cyst.

tuxedocat · 07/05/2021 10:59

@Wiltshire90 what did your cyst pain feel like? I’ve got a dull ache towards the left but it’s higher up not low down (closer to ribs if you know what I mean)

Wiltshire90 · 07/05/2021 11:02

@tuxedocat mine is low down, pretty much exactly where my ovaries are on the left. It was quite sharp at times but is more infrequent and dull now so hopefully it's disappearing by itself!

tuxedocat · 07/05/2021 11:13

@Wiltshire90 that’s good news!

climbershell · 07/05/2021 11:39

So had my first midwife appointment, took just under an hour. She's classed me as high risk because of my toxoplasmosis positive, my dad's blood clot and my history of anxiety. Hopefully further investigation in toxoplasmosis will be ok, tho still got my dad's serious blot clot

She couldn't advise one way or the other over the covid vaccine. But said off the record, she thought my decision of after 12 weeks if at all was good.

Hopesandsunshines · 07/05/2021 13:04

@climbershell I am sorry for your diagnose with toxoplasmosis, this is something that scares me a lot, I don't have cats but my neighbours do, and the cats are all the time in my garden, it is so annoying, my dog was eating cat poo a couple of days ago (sorry tmi and disgusting) and I am now just not having any contact with the dog to avoid getting it. What is the next step with now being considered high risk? I hope you are ok.

Elm98 · 07/05/2021 13:07

Yeah In my lower stomach, I do suffer with endometriosis so wondered as to whether the scar tissue stretching would make it worse.

I’m glad to hear yours is getting better!

Em39ma · 07/05/2021 13:09

Spoken to a different GP today. She is looking for another medication to give me along side the cyclizine. She agrees that me only being able to sit in a chair with my eyes closed not moving, isn’t a long term solution.
Doing a couple of tests and then phoning me back.

plantloveJolly · 07/05/2021 14:23

Hello everyone!
Ive been a long term lurker but haven't yet posted. I'm roughly 6 weeks 3 days today. I had a miscarriage in November last year at 8 weeks.
I'm a bit anxious this time around as I'm fairly symptomless :( I have had some very mild bouts of nausea here and there but nothing major and my boobs are slightly sore to the touch. Are there any ladies out there feeling relatively normal?

Arb108 · 07/05/2021 14:34

@plantloveJolly I'm 7w2 and I'm pretty symptomless too. Very slight nausea and my boobs aren't really sore. I do have cramps though and acne appearing. Otherwise I feel pretty normal. I had a MMC in January so I get anxious too. I don't have any desire to be really nauseous but at the same time it would be great to have some signs your body is growing a baby.

2021DecemberDueDate · 07/05/2021 14:41

Welcome @plantloveJolly! I'm about 8 weeks and no symptoms apart from mood swings (can I blame that on pregnancy?!) and being really tired in the afternoons. Went for an early scan about a week ago and everything looked fine - I'm aware things can still go wrong but it was at least confirmation that your body can be working away even if you can't feel it happening!

TakeYourFinalPosition · 07/05/2021 14:44

@plantloveJolly I’m 7+4 today and I’ve had no major symptoms. Boobs have been fine throughout, I haven’t been sick, I had periods of nausea and tiredness last week but nothing major and it’s pretty much gone now.

The only constant that I’ve had is cramps a few times a week. And my husband is convinced that I have a bit of a bump today, but I think that’s just from the extra food, to be honest!

It’s weird, when I was nauseous and crampy I wanted to feel better, now I want a sign that everything is okay. Early pregnancy is an anxious time x

AnonymousXXIX · 07/05/2021 14:58

@plantloveJolly I felt exactly the same till 2 days ago! But now that I am feeling nauseous... I still feel anxious something could be wrong. So I would rather have the anxiety minus the nausea.

plantloveJolly · 07/05/2021 15:17

Thank you so much all for replying! I feel a lot better having read that I'm not the only one feeling relatively okay :)
Never thought I'd be the one wanting to be sick but right now I wouldn't mind a bit of a sign showing me I'm pregnant Blush

climbershell · 07/05/2021 15:22

@Hopesandsunshines thank you! atm it's waiting for more analysis from the lab in Swansea, seeing as I have antibodies as well as signs of infection. I expected to have antibodies tbh, due to my job, but expected long before being pregnant! The lab told my doc I should be reassured because of the antibodies so the baby should be protected, but I'm waiting to find out exactly how recent the infection was! That phone chat with doc was Wed and no further call yet, so blooming hurry up Swansea!!

From googling it says when antibodies & infection present another blood test should be done to see if antibodies increase or stay the same, if the same antibodies were generated fair time ago and everything is A ok.

I'm trying not to worry because at this stage in the pregnancy it's 32% likely to be passed onto the baby & if passed on then 20% chance baby will be affecting, so overall a v low risk, but I had hoped the results would be a simple 'you have antibiotics you're immune - I.e get as much soil on you as you like at work, no worries!' But no, dammit!

I think high risk just means possibly more scans than standard

Kinsters · 07/05/2021 16:20

My "morning" sickness is the wrong way around. I feel ok in the morning and really all the way through until about 5pm then I start feeling so nauseous and can't eat dinner.

climbershell that sounds so stressful. Hope you get good news soon.

Hello! I'm just over 6 weeks too and feel similar to you. This is an IVF pregnancy and I am very worried. My nipples are bit sore that's pretty much it. Zero nausea or sickness. I do feel tired but always been a tired person!! X
Hopesandsunshines · 07/05/2021 16:33

Wow it must be really stressful, @climbershell hoping the best for you and the baby. Are they going to give you blood tests in regards your father's blood condition?

climbershell · 07/05/2021 17:27

@Hopesandsunshines I can't remember exactly what she said, but I'll probably need an injection I think blood thinner type thing because of my dad's blood clot

climbershell · 07/05/2021 17:30

I've just eaten a Magnum ice cream. First non savoury thing I've eaten in nearly 2 weeks, I'm quite happy I managed lol. Maybe that means my all day nausea may stop soon...🤞

@Pineapple87

Hi all just a quick question, my first midwife app is next week I will be 8 weeks plus depending on the day, mine is a 45 min telephone appointment I don’t actually get to see her, did anyone else only get offered a phone app instead of going to the doctors? Thanks xx
Yes mine was over the phone and then she booked me in the same day to go see her and get my bloods done etc.

I think it's just standard now to reduce the risk to pregnant ladies. I was quite happy with it being over the phone to be honest but everyone is different!
