Can you get pregnant naturally at 39? Any success stories?

I've had 3 miscarriages back to back after my daughter that's 2 now. My doctor said it's probably because I'm to old and that my eggs are to old and bad now.

I'm sorry for your losses.
What had the recurrent miscarriage clinic said?
I don't think you should just focus on how to get pg again, you need to find (or rule out) causes for the miscarriages so you can hopefully avoid it happening again.
(One dc at 36, 4 mcs, then dc2 in early 40s)

I’m 39 and 12 weeks pregnant at the moment. I was very lucky and conceived first try

41 here, conceived in second month at 40, due in June. Get a second opinion, your GP was really rude and dismissive. Good luck with it.

Yes, 3 months trying and got pregnant in 4th month at 39. Took folic acid, which I believe helped. I read that it takes 3 months for the egg to mature, so you want to avoid exposure to things that could be an issue, eat healthily etc. I had tests done privately that showed a lower than average egg count, but average for my age. Now have a healthy baby, so all good. I have 3 other friends also pregnant at 38/39, all ok too. One had a previous miscarriage, which so puts down to over exercising in the first trimester. Good luck x

First baby at age 34, miscarriage at 39, pregnant at 42 (43 when he was born). I was surprised at the time that I could get pregnant at the age of 42 with no problems whatsoever. Problem free pregnancy and birth and now 14!

To be fair to the GP, having a "bad egg" is a very common cause of miscarriage. That doesn't mean that the OP doesn't have any eggs that will go the distance though.

I conceived, naturally, after two months at 41.

OP, have you had any tests to ascertain your specific situation? LH, FSH, AMH? The results of those would give you a much better idea of your fertility potential.

I'd start with those and if the results are good, then a miscarriage specialist could advise on a course of action to hopefully help your next pregnancy go to full term.

I've had three miscarriages, all in my 20s and have since had three children in my 30s. It's so hard to predict fertility.

Im sorry OP, that sounds really hard.
I fell pregnant naturally at 39 but had no history of miscarriage.

Thamigumathacharaid · 19/04/2021 23:16

Hi OP, I wouldn't see why it isn't possible. I had a miscarriage I'm 2016 and 2019. We decided to start trying again around my 38th birthday (August). We were quite busy but only DTD once. I'm now due in less than four weeks.

I'm 39 and 7 weeks pregnant after 3 months of TTC. This will be my third child. The month I fell pregnant we used pre seed. Also took b12, vitamin d, ate lots of walnuts and pomegranate seeds/juice to help with implantation. Don't give up XXX
